  1. Did Adeline fall outside or into the hall? Just wanted to make sure.
  2. Truthfully, I can't really say anything against this because of how true it is. Not much else to really say as it's really true. I think we all kind of got wrapped up in the whole what we need to do when we should've been asking more why instead. From my experiences, it feels like the community is pointing out more of the wrongs then the rights. If somebody is powerplaying or metaing, they get called out on it. Sometimes we get a little bit too negative that people are afraid of stuff and will go all out to try and avoid it. Actually, I have a good example from Ymora with that trial with Exlink. One very interesting conversation in the PM was about why he was dodging so much with his Arcanine. It turned out he was afraid that it would be KO'd if it landed in the water. It sounds strange, but you can't really blame someone who is trying to be careful. I simply told him that it wouldn't be good on his Arcanine, but it didn't mean the match was over and he lost. I think I also gave notes on what he was doing right as well and a couple things that surprised me. Now I did write stuff for fun before joining this RP section (mostly novels) and I can tell you a lot of why half these changes and ideas won't work. Writing is a form of expression and freedom and quite frankly, that's half the reason I enjoy it. I wouldn't want a guy going over my shoulder saying, "Hey, you got a lot of potential being a great sci-fi writer, but here's the stuff you got to make sure to include and how you need to do it." Heck no, I'll do it the way I want to do it. It's quite boring when there's standards and rules you have to follow. It's more fun to learn from your mistakes and fix the issues later on. Sometimes a player can give advice, but the host won't always listen (and shouldn't imo). Yes, I did say that you shouldn't listen to advice and criticism and I do stand to that unless it contains the good, the bad, and the stuff that kind of just seems to work. This is pretty much how I take criticism too is that if it's missing any of those parts, I ignore. If somebody gives me a list of everything I did wrong and possibilities to fix it, that's worthless to me. How can I fix those things when I don't know what I'm doing right? A comment of praise of skills is the same. How can I improve if I don't know what I'm doing wrong? There's also things that seem to work, but having someone mention it will make me aware and to see if it's possible I can improve of it in the future. This applies so much to new RPers. I could tell you the things I've done wrong since joining, but I'm still uncertain of the things I'm doing right or even if I'm an interesting RPer. Kind of hard to enjoy something if you don't know whether or not you're doing a good job. tl;dr People will join something if they are interested. People will be more active or try to stay if they enjoy it. People will leave if they lose interest. People will be less active when they aren't having fun or are unsure of themselves. Nothing else matters. No rules, no style, no genre, no layout changes.
  3. I suppose I can reveal this since it's almost ready to be launched, but one of the biggest issues that we've been ignoring is combat. Pretty much any system we have is very judgemental and bias meaning if a problem arises, it'll lead up to a stall. Beforehand, I was very against numbers as I felt it made things a little too fixed, but now I realized that it really just makes everything confusing about them and how things work. That's why I came up with an intensity system (you people are free to use something similar) to kind of help rid of this problem. It hasn't been tried, but it does kind of help guide how to be a better player (or should) along with being far more clear on the issue. I'll just show you the difference and you might understand: Old Method (Fire Emblem: Dimenian Knights) How battles will take place: Battles will be determined by your equipment and armor/class and with a higher class than another means it is more likely you will be successful on your attacks. But be warned careless actions will be punished. Using strategy is key to success. And how this is calculated is based upon me as I make the final decisions. (I know this isn't the exact thing, but that pretty much is what it is. The host is deciding everything based on his judgement alone. Even if you give thorough insight on it, the player can never be too sure they know what will happen and bias could occur). Here's the new Method: The Draw System: Before taking an action, a player will use a random number generator of 1-10 to determine the intensity of the attack/the likely hood of success. The higher the number the better success you have, but the host's actions (aka me) will use the same system but from 0-10 to determine the enemy's attack intensity/success of the action. The one with the higher number usually is the one to win IF both sides are on the exact same level. There are many calculations that go into what will happen: Intensity Levels: Intensity is divided up into 3 tiers. 1-3 are weak attacks that don't leave so much of a blow, 4-6 are mid power attacks that can leave quite a punch, but are generally considered an average attack power. 7-9 are powerful blows and can be quite deadly, usually killing someone who has a low number such as 2. If someone draws a 10, aka bloody 10, it is a powerful attack that is almost always guaranteed to kill the opponent despite what number they have. Only a high intensity number such as 8 could even live against this attack. If the host draws a 0 though, that pretty much means whoever is attacking gets a free kill despite any factors that go into this. The Weapon Triangle: In FE main games, there is a system where one type of weapon is stronger than another in a rock-paper-scissors type style. Axes beat lances, Lances beat swords, swords beat axes. If one of these situations appears, the tiering is altered a slight bit. Let's say the player hold a sword while the opponent has an Axe. Both draw a 6. In this situation, the sword wielder would win. Now let's say the sword wielder draws a 1 and the axe wielder draws an 8, the axe wielder would win. Having an advantage like that is considered a tier shift (adding 3 to the sword wielder would show what the real intensity or number is) giving the sword wilder an advantage, but that does not mean they will always win. Weapon Material: Weapon material is similar to the triangle where higher grade weapons have an advantage over a lower grade. Silver is stronger than Steel which is stronger than Bronze. A Silver against a bronze weapon would cause a two tier shift (or +6 to the Silver weapon wielder) meaning the bronze weapon wielder has very little chance of winning. The better weapon also means it's sturdier causing it less likely to break. Bronze weapon are frail meaning they can break easily if careless. Classes: Classes come in 3 tiers and with class difference comes tier shifts like the examples above. An Archsage would have a 2-tier advantage over a Mage meaning the other one has little chance of winning the fight. Weapon Breaking: If two draws are the same, there is a chance for a weapon to break. If the player and opponent draw a 10 both though, both weapons will break due to the sheer intensity of the two attacks. The likelyhood of a weapon breaking is determined by intensity with higher levels being more likely, how close the draws are together, the type of class (Hitting an armored unit gives a higher risk of weapon breaking), and the amount of times the weapon has been used already. Usually, I will determine when a weapon breaks as it is all due to chance. (I have to go to work, but will finish later. Trust me, this is actually more simple and lineant than it looks. It's just to show the difference between the two ideas and how one answers the question better than the other...tough it might be a little confusing being not finished yet).
  4. I am the ninja master. But the main reason I did that was more towards making a bad situation worse. Have fun explaining that y'all.
  5. Female dorms (Outside, and Mie) Rosie heard the loud girl and wanted to charge right at her, but Citrine picked her up as she tried running in mid-air. It looked a little silly, but the Skitty shortly calmed down. She may not be able to do anything here, but on that battlefield, she would make this crazy head pay for ruining her moment of tranquility. She then decided to answer Mie's question. "Well...it seems like we got a little tipsy head over there who doesn't know how to shut up...along with some players. Gotta admit, it takes some balls to go for first base on the first day. Kind of want to see who they are." She didn't even give time for Mie to react when she left the room and back into the hallway. The boys weren't too far away so she was able to get a good enough glimpse...to be disappointed. It couldn't be helped so she simply turned towards where she remembered the other loud girl's voice was making sure she could hear it loud and clear. "Gee, I thought something interesting was going on here." She then got a second look at Claude. "Pretty sure the chubby one isn't into that kind of stuff either. Well...if that's what turns you on have at it. They're all yours." She had completely forgotten about Mie at this point and was headed out of the hall. There was no point in staying here now that all her stuff was put away and seeing as nothing was happening, there wasn't a need to stay.
  6. Considering Citrine...this is just perfect for her XD. I already know what to do.
  7. Can't say for certain, but I believe it was this one. And considering frozen is probably the biggest disney thing in a long while...yeah...probably not a good idea to touch. It also really doesn't feel like battle music.
  8. Sorry if I've been so quiet, but I've been busy. There's actually something I've been putting off for a while and that is a few different scenario fights. The first of which is Solaris on Pyrrous Mountain. Truthfully, I haven't been able to beat it myself with normal means, but I don't have all the time in the world to test this fight out. So instead, I'll give people 100 Rupees if they PM they're teams and strategies they used to beat the guy. This is a very tricky fight so I want to make sure whether or not this fight is winnable in more than one way. The other fights are the two Sirius fights as they probably need to see a huge boost in level or something in order to keep the challenge (I haven't tested the Singles fight in Ep 10 tbh which I'll get to soon). Florinia I may try to amp up a little bit, but it's kind of pitiful seeing how she's the easiest leader in the game. I do have a little bit of other news. Due to a certain someone putting a certain disney song for a certain fight, the DL link may be taken down while that issue is getting fixed. This is just to make absolute certain the behemoth of a company stays far, far away from this community so don't fret about it too much.
  9. Kind of have to agree with you on this. Back in the old days, it was quite an achievement beating him...especially if you didn't use a cheap trick such as how I took him down with an Emolga. But yeah, these posts have kind of been done to death. There are two fights off the top of my head that pretty much make this one look easy. The first is hardcore Solaris (for the hardcore mod of Reborn), which while does nerf the Garchomp 25 levels, will pretty much be able to crush just about any team. I still haven't beaten it yet, but I know it is possible (trust me, I really tried about 8 times and never even came close). So far nobody has made a claim of beating him, and I've only seen people wuss out and fight the Lv 75 Garchomp instead as it's much easier apparently. The greater challenge is Madame X of Rejuvenation. It is almost nearly impossible, but some have beaten it. That is considered the ultimate challenge imo.
  10. Generally, I kind of disagree with this. (You people and your TV tropes had to make me google for a minute). What may seem like an obvious action to you may not be for somebody else. Though I do suppose it is a good way to give people a little bit of advice without telling them what to do. I do think some of them might need that extra little shove to kind of get them on the right track such as a situation if they run in with a blaze of glory, they'll probably get killed.
  11. Now that is what I call a close battle. But yeah, basically it's expected to face Sirius then Sigmund as Sigmund singles is the harder fight of the bunch. I would've given him a Mega Manectric, but you probably can guess who got that one. But yeah, you're almost done with the really, really difficult part now with only Pulse Abra and Noel left. I'd say they are both equal in difficulty.
  12. Pretty sure Smogon has a system built in to prevent freeze hax from happening twice like sleep hax, but I don't play on Showdown enough to say for certain. As for the whole moves and Pokemon thing, I can pretty much tell what somebody is going to do 80% of the time by what Pokemon they have. Does that mean I always win? No. Of course not. You also have a slight advantage as each Leader must have all Pokemon share a single type (though this could also be a disadvantage). It's not as big of a deal as you think it might be (and it also tests the skills of both sides).
  13. Man, it seems like Episode 16 is taking a toll on everyone. I wish you the best of luck for whatever may happen, but safety and health always come first. The things you've done for Reborn certainly won't be forgotten about no matter what happens.
  14. So tempted to bring Techie back now because of this. And red haired girl who has similar traits to my PC...where have I heard that one before? cough*Kristen*cough I think I'm catching K_H's cold.
  15. Mie and Citrine (Room 035) - And also the backflipping girl who might be on something Citrine turned around and was startled by the Vulpix waiting at the door. She quickly calmed down kneeling over the little girl. "Sorry little fellow, but you kind of remind me of a little guy back at home who's also a Vulpix. Kind of freaks me out a bit." She was ready to scratch the Vulpix behind the ears when she heard yelling down the hallway. The Skitty shot up from the bed. She hated loud noises like that and quickly ran towards the door. Somebody was going to pay for interrupting her beauty sleep. Citrine wasn't so bothered by it and followed the cat. "And it looks like somebody had a little bit too much...er...nevermind about that." Seeing about how her roommate acted earlier, she decided it was best not to finish that sentence in case it gave her any ideas. "I gotta go put a stop to this before my little Skitty takes it out on someone. She's got a temper like her former trainer." The girl and her Skitty stepped right outside the room. She took a deep breath speaking as loud, if not louder than this loud girl. "Hey! Who's making all that noise? Some Pokemon are trying to sleep around here!"
  16. Why am I getting a sense of Deja vu? I'm probably going to wait to post until some of the dorm events activate.
  17. I feel I have a right to speak up about this considering what has happened. This is one of those rare ideas that the developer isn't the main story writer, and due to certain conditions and to so much uncertainty, I had to take control of certain areas in order to actually make a plot and for things to start running smoothly. Actually, I pretty did do quite a few changes...though apparently it was being frowned upon and causing tension who the leader was. This caused many conflicts down the line, but due to how the leadership was going, there was nobody stopping it. I decided to put an end to this by taking everything I worked on for this game with me since that seemed to be a huge core of this problem. Apparently, nobody was willing to step in to end the fighting out of fear of losing my plotline design. Trust me, the four of us had a little talk and when we figured out what happened, we decided it was best to leave and remove as many traces as we could to what this plot was going to be. There were so many things to consider when making the plot and choices I had to make from either the moral choice or stronger and better plot choice. Generally, I tried taking a balance of the two. It's kind of sad to considering the plot was near completion never to be touched again. I hold in my hand a countless amount of hours of work of plot and character building. While not complete, many ideas such as Callaghan being a main antagonist for Ultima came about. While they were my ideas, they were not my characters so if anyone is curious and want to know what would've come about their character, I will let them know in a PM. What is done with the ideas for them is entirely up to the original creator of that character. That's what I feel is a fair bargain in all of this instead of me keeping many of these ideas only to rot in time.
  18. Burn the chef in a fiery pit of saussages I know nothing about this.
  19. As Citrine would say, "Looks like we got ourselves a plaaaaayeeer!"
  20. Mie and Citrine (Room 035) It didn't take Citrine long to find her dorm room...mostly because there was a Skitty there to stop her. Rosie may not know how to read, but she could recognize the number 35 from before since Citrine may have been counting out loud. Citrine unlocked the door and pretty much dropped her stuff in the bedroom. In truth she really didn't have that much other than clothes. It probably took her a good 30 seconds to unpack. "Well...it's bigger than I thought it'd be, but do they really have to keep these rooms so clean. A little dirt ain't going to kill anything." She then looked over to the Skitty who was enjoying a nice nap on her bed. Citrine then looked back wondering where her roomie might have gone or if she followed her.
  21. Mie and Citrine "Well you certainly aren't much of a talker. Don't worry about it. It's not that big of a deal. It's just people usually act all quiet when they don't want to talk and stutter like that. Then again, what do you have to be nervous about? Unless..." It all made sense now. Citrine had never seen someone with hair like that before. There was only one explanation to something so strange. "It's okay, your secret is safe with me. Anyways, we should probably head to the dorms to unpack our stuff. C'mon Rosie!" The Skitty heard her name just right when she was going to pounce the Vulpix. So close. The Vulpix may have won this game, but she certainly wouldn't when the next. She followed her trainer in pursuit because losing a girl like this in a school so large was a danger to all.
  22. Sometimes you need to burn the bridge so that you will never go back there no matter how much you want to.

  23. Mie and Citrine I don't blame her for wearing that hood. If I had hair like that, I probably do it too. Though it'd be so cool to have hair like that. Citrine then suddenly bluttered out, "I like your hair. It's pretty." Now might not have been the time for that so Citrine decided to quickly change the topic. "Well I suppose my bro would kind of get you as he was an only child until I moved in recently, but that's a really long story for another time." Citrine truly didn't feel like explaining that whole story as it was half the reason she was even in this mess. "I guess that's one thing you two have in common other than not really liking people. Doesn't bother me one bit." Citrine may be a bit dense, but she can tell when someone is not comfortable in talking and this girl didn't seem much of a talker. Meanwhile, Rosie was having fun with her new friend. Even better was that this Vulpix was a girl so her cute charm wouldn't have an effect on her. Energetically, she dashed around in a circle seeing if the Vulpix would want to play. Her old companion was so boring and never wanted to do anything fun.
  24. Haste makes waste especially here. The only time I see actions like yours justified is if it's taking three days or so for them to make a post. Don't worry, we'll get around to everybody talking to everyone, but it will take time. Just keep the coordinators from all coming together otherwise, who know what'll happen. (Seriously, Claude and Citrine in the same room is a bad idea. Especially if one gives the other some ideas).
  25. The transfer in and of itself would be more hell than it's worth. Kudos to whoever wants to try it out, but the power of a phone is much less than that of a computer meaning a game like Reborn would be nigh impossible on it. Reborn would be like the old Gen V moving Pokemon days where things were slow and just kept crashing. It'd be a whole new world so those experienced with XP likely won't make a transfer as it'd take way too long to relearn and remake games that do not lag on phones. And personally, I prefer my games on computers and never got the whole on the go thing. Most of my on the go games I prefer being mindless fun or easy and not something plot heavy like Reborn. However, props to those who can create a game on the phones as they won't have too much competition and I suppose that there's a market for it, but certainly isn't for me.
