  1. The only reward for beating him is getting Julia for the later fight. Even on the Hardcore page, I said I don't know if you can beat him. I was only able to KO Scizor, Excadrill, and Gyarados before being Curbstomped by that Garchomp.
  2. I know this is going to make me one big hypocrite, but I generally believe in this philosophy. I don't really think it's right to tamper with someone else's creation. I'm a hypocrite because I was involved in the hardcore mod, but the main reason I did that was because "if someone is going to do it, it may as well be done right." Even then I tried tampering little as possible to stay true to how each leader fought (though there were some exceptions...due to difficulty reasons *cough Helioptile cough*).
  3. (Points to scrapyard before walking away)
  4. (Evil laughs) I mean I have ideas for a few of my members for Citrine's team (yeah, there'll be another returning character, but he's awesome and you'll understand when you see him), but I'm pretty sure it'll change before the end. I think we all went for like 8 team changes because of how everybody wanted so-and-so and we wanted to avoid dupes.
  5. And nobody has signed up for Coordinator...considering coordinators stole the show at one point, I'll make sure Dobby ain't going to be the only coordinator. While I said I'd play as Citrine (and I still hold true to that statement), I'll pick Henry if we don't have enough Coordinators because Coordinators was too interesting of a concept to let die. But I'm hoping at least one other person signs up for it to make it a trio. (Seriously, it was such a good part of the RP that it deserves its spot in this one). It's actually the whole coordinator thing that is making me so indecisive. I'll probably be debating on this whole thing until about a couple days before the RP starts. Actually...let me see if I can poke around with both their backstories to make the coordinators...eh screw it, Citrine the Coordinator it is (I'm going to erase Henry's data now).
  6. The other two covered it, but yes this is sue territory. Who says the trainer and Pokemon need to understand exactly what each other are saying? Gypsy basically was a mute, but her messages seemed to get across pretty well.
  7. ...OMG I'm having Deju Vu right now. I mean sure you can have any type a weapon you want on you, but considering nobody else is going to do it, you'll likely be getting the crap beaten out of you for making everyone else feel threatened. Don't expect doing something like that in a SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT to just be okay.
  8. Considering Citrine is a breeder, actually, I think I'm going to go Citrine (I keep typing Luna out of force of habit) because breeders need more love (and she's fun to RP as). I mean if people really want me to play as the a-hole Coordinator again, I don't mind as I like both of them about equally, but otherwise Citrine is coming to Ymora (and Henry's deadly Skitty makes a return).
  9. Hilariously enough, original Henry fit perfectly into the Trainer program to the point it'd be nonsensical to make him anything but a trainer. Then I saw all these trainers and said screw it! I'm making him a coordinator. It'll help his character stand out more anyways. Tbh, that was probably one of my smartest moves even though it meant choosing his pokemon moves would be a bit more challenging. (Seriously, I'm tempted to make him a Coordinator again and I probably could).
  10. And everybody picks trainer...why does everybody pick trainer? I mean if I was able to make Henry a coordinator, anything is possible (though I might change it to Breeder instead of trainer if I use him).
  11. There's just a lot of stuff I need to look up and it's easier to work with a post someone is not going to check until I finish. Btw, I made that Citrine pic a long time ago.
  12. That's the reason I am doing it XD. There'll be two apps for a little bit until I finalize which one I like better and delete the other. Just ignore my sorcery for now (I'm transferring Henry info from the old RP).
  13. Name: Luna "Citrine" Baldwin Age: 14 Birthday: March 23 Appearance: While the pic is decent, she's a bit more tomboyish in her dress apparel as most of her shirts fit rather loosely on her. Program: Coordinator Personality: Citrine is a bit of an oddball. She's very outgoing and enjoys teasing...to the point she really doesn't hide what she's thinking. Her happy go lucky lifestyle can be a bit unnerving especially in dark or depressing situation. Pokemon: Hometown: Pyrite Town Background: Extra: -Citrine has a very high metabolism and "the hunger of a Snorlax" as Henry called it. She earned the nickname Citrine due to this and Citrines being her favorite food. -Her real last name is Fitzgerald, though she doesn't like to talk about her real family claiming she's really a Baldwin.
  14. I'm going to kind of stay in the middle on this one. If agreed completely with Huk, I'd be contradicting myself given I've created characters with similar back stories, but completely opposite personalities and actions. Motivations can really separate one character from another even with similar backstories. Exlink if you do go down this path, I suggest twisting it a lot and changing a few events, how they happened, and how it effects the character differently. I can't usually recommend off putting type characters as sometimes they tend to be taken out of context. What I don't ever recommend is putting something in for the sake of spicing it up, but have no explanation of it. But yes, a character like that can be good, but it's difficult to handle. As for the OOC, I suppose you could say please don't post until Dobby posts (or their comments will get deleted) or Tacps could lock it then unlock when the elf arrives.
  15. Having the PBS file is nearly worthless by itself. You could add trainers in it, but there'd be no way to fight them in the game. Just saying. And most people who have them wouldn't just hand them out.
  16. It's the same personality, but just with a different gender. I'm guessing Murdoc was asking that as Kage was blind and had a personality that could work for either gender. (I could say something else here, but I will leave my thoughts to myself for once).
  17. I suppose Citrine probably would be more socially accepted which is why I probably wouldn't change her gender. Henry though wouldn't change that much at all. Maybe get a bit more moody, but it'd still be Henry more or less. I've played both genders and it really depends on the setting how much they'll change when they change genders.
  18. There was a time where we considered rulesets, but what we basically settled with is to try and avoid powerplay and just straight up OP tactics. It's very unusual fighting style and takes some time to get used to, but when you do and both people play fair, it's a hell of a lot of fun because you don't know what to expect. I usually was able to pull something completely new each battle due to how Henry was more of a trickster type battler. Edit: Bfrog, play Shiro however you want. TBH, I feel like he would fit the role of either gender just fine. (Ironically, nothing probably would change between Shiro and Henry even with a gender difference XD...if they would even interact at all).
  19. I'm just going to be honest here. I don't really want to see a talking and illusion making Zorua after that whole thing from anyone. If someone wants to use it, keep it to the game mechanics and not have it talk.
  20. I'm just going to be up front, I had more problems than you can imagine with Vulpix as Drought is an ability that has caused many problems. Since I'm the only person who had a weather ability Pokemon, we kind of had to change around some things to get around these issues (I even considered changing Zuko's ability). It is on my to consider list of starters, but I did make a heavy ruleset on Drought to get around the issues in the original. It's both stronger and weaker than the original use, but it makes more sense and less problematic. Though I will say nothing is final. (If I don't pick Henry, I won't pick Vulpix as a starter either). But yeah, two people having the same starter isn't an issue. Unless someone wants Skitty. Then we have an issue.
  21. Chim forgot to mention no coverage moves (IE Solarbeam for Vulpix) and no moves over 60 BP (or something close to that). Also you can only select moves from the learnset and breeding at the start. I'll just give you Zuko's (Vulpix) starting moveset for an example: Zuko (Vulpix) Lv 8 Ability: Drought -Ember -Feint Attack -Quick Attack -Roar -Tail Whip It's actually simpler than it looks. Basically, pick weak moves and try to use them in creative ways instead of picking the best moves possible at the start. Seriously, I was able to turn mud-sport into a really useful move. Edit: NO! NO! NO! JUST BECAUSE SHIPS HAPPEN WE DO NOT ENVOKE PEOPLE TO CREATE CHARACTERS LIKE THAT FOR THAT PURPOSE! We're here to have character interactions not pick something due to shipping. Also, yeah...the last guy who did that...we don't talk about him.
  22. In a nutshell yes, but everybody is now a student as RoG is dead (well joining RoG that is). But basically, a few character are making a return but a lot of discussion is that there are going to be changes in them based on our experience and to spice it up a bit.
  23. The only issue I'm seeing is getting enough applications and those who can be fit. Let's just take me for example (since I know I'm not going to sign-up). Obviously, I have all of the qualifications (I'm a roleplayer and I'm fairly good at battling) but time would be my biggest issue only being available two days a week. I just don't think you'll be able to fill all 18 gym leader roles with the right people nor the people with enough skills to make a very, very challenging league.
  24. tfw you defeat a Lv 25 Arcanine with a Lv 5 Voltorb

    2. Tringus

      Tringus

tfw you defeat a Lv. 75 Garchomp and a Lv. 80 Arceus with a level 10 Cottonee and level 4-5 Pineco (These two leveled up after battling Garchomp, but it was still enough to take out Arceus, too).

    3. Ice Cream Sand Witch

      Ice Cream Sand Witch

tfw you get through everything using just level 5 starter which was altered to not gain EXP.

    4. Drymus

      Drymus

Well... the best I've done was beat a level 100 Kecleon with a level 25 Misdreavus...

  25. I'm going to be honest here. While I think the concept would be cool and neat, I don't see it working out. The amount of support needed and required would be tricky and keeping track of everything would be quite difficult. I suppose a battle log thread where people oversee the whole league would be best and the first thing you must do. That system can only handle so much, but it's definitely possible to keep track. This is where it's going to fail. Who the leaders will be. There's just such a commitment that you can't just pick anyone to be a leader. It's like making a game with a team. If one person is super good at spriting let's say, but he doesn't listen or work well with the rest of the group, it'd be better to pick someone not as good who could do cooperate and work well. You need very committed and very skilled people to run as players. 18 is a very big number and higher numbers mean higher chances some kink is going to go into the system. Reborn has had 34 different leaders in it's three seasons with many, many problems. It may not be a bad idea to start out at 8 instead and work your way up.
