My advice: Toxic Spike, Stall, and Bring Revives. She may have a Toxicroak, but you need to try and Poison Medicham while holding on for dear life. Her Medicham is very, very hard to overcome (though she's a cakewalk compared to Aya). The rest you should have no problem with though they aren't easy.

Question: How are you going to make this happen? What are your current skills with RPG maker along with Spriting, map making, and Programing?
-
You almost lost with that high of levels. I didn't think Cal was too bad...actually, I thought he was pretty easy except Blast Burn Magmortar (yes, it has Blast Burn again). He was my guinea pig for Charlotte team designing. Blake...is the exact opposite. He holds the most powerful attack in the game.

Well I'm late to the party, but I finally got windows 10...and it's alright.

I can name a few: Xenosaga II Proto Omega, the game basically has you crawling to save points if you don't stock spam, but Proto Omega is a league of its own. E.S. fights aren't too bad, but when you get out of them, run the hell away from enemies. I nearly got a game over because a group of four enemies were comboing and knocking my characters over like no tomorrow. I was pretty much running like a scared little girl near the end of that long dungeon. I suppose another one would be Xenoblade Chronicles. You're in a battle with a group of 8 enemies then you hear this song: The last one would be Phoenix Wright Trials and Tribulations Case 4's ending. Seriously, that one was a bit unexpected, but they foreshadowed it so well.

Wow...that was fast. Of course, it is mathematically nearly impossible to beat hardcore through a nuzlocke. Too many variables are based on chance in the late episodes anyways.

I suppose I can relate to this. I don't like change. I was the guy raging about the steel type nerfs because that'd mean I'd have to relearn the system again. There are people like me that only like a few additions slowly and not a completely whole new system. Heck, I'm even a guy who strongly opposes Fakemons. Also, that's quite a stretch of stuff you got there and it might be nice to put some spoilers up by doing this [spoiler-] stuff [/spoiler-] but remove the dashes.

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 [Final Chapter Prologue]
Commander replied to Solarance's topic in Gaming General
I just saw the price is going to be 59.99 to pre-order...sorry, but I might have to pass on this one and just by DDD for 3ds and youtube the rest. 40 would've been more reasonable, but 60 is a bit too high for my liking. -
Either Jamak really screwed the AI up or you were very luck statistically on that Gengar. I suppose losing three times sounds about right as I lost to him a few times (Shadow ball is the devil on that field). I may eventually try to bring back Rotom, but not right away due to that funky Discharge thing. Just a heads up, you might want to train another member or two as you team will be good for Kiki at around 42 (though Aya's lowest is 42...which kick my butt quite a bit even with 44s). Seriously, this is like the best point in the game to grind new Pokemon due to the very generous amount of Exp from all the fights that happen (and they're all in the low 40s).

Ymora Academy Reboot [Interest Check / Discussion]
Commander replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Wait...people actually shipped those two together. Those two together...they'd pretty much both be using each other at the start. Not that it really matters now though. So many events revolved around why all those lists came up. It's just to show that character interaction can go so many different ways. Just thinking back on it, I'm kind of wondering if people who use their old characters will use some of their old Pokemon as well. I know Paradox and Burrows are going bye-bye if I pick Henry again, but there is one I'm considering bringing back besides the starter.- 139 replies

Ymora Academy Reboot [Interest Check / Discussion]
Commander replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Sorry, but I've been wanting to find a use for that like forever. I can't really say how shipping will go for this time around (I got 3 ships the last time...Henry of all people). I mean most of them aren't super serious so if people get offended or uncomfortable we'll try to tone it down. I was kind of against it at the start, but I've learned to embrace it.- 139 replies

Ymora Academy Reboot [Interest Check / Discussion]
Commander replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
I don't even need Chim on here to answer this question. YES! YES! AND YES! Ymora will be taking in new players which is half the reason why the reboot is happening. You don't even need to really know about any of the old characters either since this would be starting from square one again. No experience necessary.- 139 replies

Ymora Academy Reboot [Interest Check / Discussion]
Commander replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
1. Reboot(ish) is probably better considering the situation. I do suggest consider making minor changes and alterations to the story (which I'm sure you will) but most of the original frame still seem it could work. 2. Definitely allow for old PCs to come back as long as the people playing them promise to clear their history books. For example, Henry warming up to people wouldn't have happened and he'd be bitter to everybody nor the cane scenario would have occurred. Truthfully though, I'm not sure whether I'll do Henry or Citrine this time around. (If someone does a character like Henry, I'll play Citrine as I don't want to overshadow them like I did for Alvin). 3. I suppose that since the others agreed, I'll go for a battle thread as well. Though I'm not quite sure how the can't post in main IC will work since I kind of forgot if that was followed or not. 4. Ships. Lots and lots of ships. I honestly can't tell you what to expect. So many unexpected things happened last time and there probably will be some in this one. I'm predicting you'll put some twists on a couple old events that'll probably surprise even the more committed RPers to this. 5. Let me tell you something right now: I probably haven't put as much commitment into any RP as I have for Ymora. I worked twelve hour shifts and when I got home, I forced myself to make a good post as Henry because I wanted to and how fun this RP has been. While I don't have as much time (due to that Revolution Project) I would cut time from that to RP in this. That's saying something. You were a good host and made this idea fantastic. That's probably why half of us are ready to join back.- 139 replies

Now, now, popularity drives from many different things and views and comments hardly make one game more popular. NGL, I probably know more about Se7en's team cast and what they've done and shown is very impressive for a fan game. 3 of them are fellow RPers and I can tell you that they can come up with a story as good, if not better than anything I can. They've five steps ahead of us, which is why we're probably taking different approaches than they are. You really can't say much until we have something out that people can play. (I suppose the same goes for them as well). It kind of has been. That's why I pretty much disbanded the whole writing team to work on other parts of the game. I mean 85% of the time it's me hammering out the ideas and the system in place has many, many issues which are slowly going to be worked out. In about a week from today, I'll have more free time and be able to power through since I kind of removed most of the filters but one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now for that announcement most of you already know. I'll cover the first one: there may be some alterations to some characters. Due to how ambiguous some apps are, there are holes I may have to fill or things that straight up won't work for a game. For that reason, I may have to change a few names of the characters due to some conflicts that could happen. Some of you are probably new to character creation, but self-inserts are a big no. If you know you kind of did that, let me know and how you want to change it. I'll give you a couple examples of what is ok and what's not: Let's suppose that I submitted a character named John. John is based exactly off of me (including the name) and is a kid who is lazy and procrastinates all day, but is also super smart. Let's say, we have to many intelligent people and I kind of wanted to make him look less educated due to his laziness. Said person may see this in the game and it may insult them...causing a war I do not want. Now let's suppose I myself created a character called Ulltima Commander Spade. The character usually takes the alias of Commander due his power-hungry nature and feels everyone should refer to him as the position. He is a very respectful and understandable person who rarely disobeys orders. Let's suppose the writer had a position where he needed someone to stick out and hated a little bit more so the character gives a bit of arrogance around weak trainers which makes gets a bit cocky to the point he underestimates the player and loses. I probably wouldn't feel as insulted given the character only shares my avatar name and really isn't me at all. I mean I'll try to be reasonable in my actions, but some things just aren't possible or too difficult to implement. There's also the fact I don't want clone characters or character that'll pretty much just be bland and boring due to the conditions in which some personality alterations would prevent a character from being shoved out of the picture ASAP. So if you know you're kind of in this situation, the you might want to PM me to resolve this otherwise I have to take action. It's not because I want to, it's to cover my ass in case the worst case scenario appears. --------------------------------------------------- Now for the brighter news, we're finally getting an official team together. I'm not going to give specific what we need or like because I have to confirm who's who right now. We don't have an official spriter...so I'm kind of forced to teach everyone a bit on spriting and pretty much sacrifice most of my time from creating the story ideas and unique features into making sprites to fill that role. So unless we get someone who'll do quite a bit of spriting, story quality is going to take a bit of a dip (since I can't really work on it except maybe once a week at most). And yes, we are pretty much taking people if they're willing to commit (no skills required). One of the benefits is that you get a lot of say in the story on "draft days" as I call them.

Informations about gym leaders and major battles

Two above users are your parents; how do you turn out?

So I'm the son of the world's most powerful lilligant who has mastered the art of sleeping. Who knew? -
I could see why that's the issue. I'm kind of on mixed ground for Henry. On one hand, it feels like I'm obligated to feel the role of character "nobody" likes or gets on their nerves. On the other hand, part of me wants to start fresh (or maybe play Luna).

This was one of those really rare RPs that reflects how close we really got to each other. I'm pretty sure everyone else in the group pretty much agrees that we simply wouldn't put it in the hands of someone random. Though I do feel like it should ultimately be up to Chim to decide the course of action of whether to revive, reboot/reimage, or let the project finally rest. And Darvan, I mean no disrespect, but this is something far bigger than you can chew. It pretty much has been one hell of a ride for all of us. Still, I think it's how much each of us dedicated to it was what made it so fun. This is not a torch any of us will so easily pass. Or as the infamous character I played would say: "A rookie like you wouldn't even last a day around these ding-dongs. Though I suppose it's a day they won't bother me." (Man, I miss doing that now).

You think this Cain is bad, wait until the next Cain fight. As I said, Hardcore Cain kicks major butt (and freaking owns Sirius. I mean he just puts in work against him despite the level gap). And if you call me out on a Nidoking being one level above the cap, you should see Rejuvenation. Rivals have insane level differences (and Ren had Leftovers on all his Pokemon before the third gym leader fight). Though I will say that every fight before the Gym leader helps prepare you for it. Cain is tough so you should expect Shade to be really tough as he's supposedly the hardest fight of that Episode.

I know I haven't been active, but if Chim wants to revive this, I'd be in no matter where this train goes. Like Stratos, it is my favorite RP (also my first oddly enough). Seriously, if you need anything from me to get this back, I'd gladly do it. Don't care how much work is involved.

Praise Lord Huk, King of RP. I'm kidding. No seriously, I'm kidding about that. No, I didn't mean what I said like that LOL. Kind of putting words in my mouth. Your experience does shine through as an RP host and player which is why I kind of mentioned the things you and Startos said should be considered. If I strongly disagreed with something, I would've pointed it out. -
Pokèmon Battlegrounds [Sign Up Thread]
Commander replied to TyranntX's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Yeah, too many RPs can be a bit overwhelming. 3 kingdoms certainly gives me concern there will be huge delays due to the design (meaning all three will always be fighting each other at the same time) which is why I learn more towards 5 kingdoms with a King, 1 general, and 3 different lowered class type Pokemon (I can't remember there names off the top of my head). That'd be 25 characters (5 per kingdom) in all plus mercenaries. (If there are too few players, we could cut a kingdom since this is designed more for 8-10 RPers). I can't really say anyone is right or wrong as Stratos and Huk do have more RP experience than I do. My suggestions are simply based on the shortcomings of this RP. -
This was the point I was trying to make at 3. I suppose the Gen V games is the best example because almost all the leaders at least did something. My main point was supposed to be was don't be a Gen VI. Literally, how many of you can name the Team Flare Scientists names and their aces off the top of your head? How about team Galatic Admins? (I can actually do it for team Galatic). Yes, yes, yes, OMG yes! If you need to put anything, put that in the OP. I feel ashamed not even thinking about that when creating the list. I'm the guy crazy enough to deal with this problem because I don't care what people think and how I ruined these type of characters.

Pokèmon Battlegrounds [Sign Up Thread]
Commander replied to TyranntX's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
I'm just going to say that this was one RP that surprised me quite a bit and now that I've freed up a bit more time, I'd be happy to join as long as there has been some improvement. We don't have the full cast anymore so reviving where we started off is going to be very, very difficult. There's definitely a lot of work that needs to be done. What I suggest is taking what you've learned from this and do a reimaging of what we've seen so far. Instead of answering your questions, I'm just going to make some points to suggest how to keep this thing back under control: -Limit it to 2 characters per player. I suggest only 5 kingdom with a single King/Queen to lead it, but those who play the king role can only have another character in that kingdom. If you don't rule a kingdom, you are free to choose whatever characters you want. This'll spice things up as alliances will play a more important role. -I know you had a story and plans, but might I suggest throwing most of them in the garbage and give the Kingdoms themselves more control of the story. You can throw some situations in such as a legendary arising causing a situation that can vitally harm the group, but it should only be left to obstacles. Decreasing the host's power lets them get to participate more into the game, almost to the point they are a player themselves. -I said five kingdoms and I still agree to it. Seven is certainly too big of a number unless we get a lot more people involved. Maybe if it feels two crowded we could increase it, but not at the time. They don't need to be perfectly balance, but make sure no single army is invincible like the Sky Kingdom gave me the impression of. (Permafrost should've been a major threat given their ability to change the weather frigid harming their control of the sky). -The class system we had was pretty good tbh, and I wouldn't change much. What I would change is to remove the queen class and give the lower classes after general, special traits that will make people want to pick them as their second character. (I'd also suggest limiting control of high ranked character of one per person to give more variety). -Kings should obviously stay the strongest, but if they die, it's game over for that kingdom. Obviously, the king participating in a battle will give a huge advantage given their abilities are beyond a general's, but...what if one was captured. This'll give it more of a game of chess feel making people consider and reconsider their actions. Instead of a first come, first served, I believe the RPers should be picked by a host who should be given the important decision of leading a kingdom. -Continuing on about kings, I believe they should have a special ability that they can only use once per battle. That ability will be based on the kingdom, not the Pokemon species. Location should also affect how strong a kingdom is. In their homeland, they're obviously going to have the upper advantage with the capital being where they're the strongest. -I'd also say limit the story of this one. Backstory for kingdoms will be good (especially if you want to make the kingdoms more interesting), but let's give the RPers who play the kings a bit of say in their kingdom. For example, Permafrost was kind of evil and conquest like which they simply waited for the other Kingdoms to weaken. Different people are going to want to be under control of a certain king. -You may also want to consider starting fresh and creating and interest check. If we try to continue this, very few newbies are going to want to join. The RP section is low on ideas and I've seen a few people wanting to join. This is a good opportunity to get new people involved while also hammering out the final details and gameplay of this RP. That shouldn't all be word for word what you should do, nor everything that should be done. That's just a good start to consider where to go from here. This is a very unique and interesting concept and I'd prefer it to be successful than for it to rush headfirst only to fall apart right away. (Stratos and Huk also brought quite a few important points that I'd consider too). -
Oh Shelly, I could see why she was tough for you. That AI for doubles is so screwed up like you wouldn't believe. I had to do a lot of manipulation to even make her function the way she did. As for the switching, it can't be helped. That was something I was considering looking into when I finally learn how to code well. The switch thing is actually more problematic in Singles then doubles truthfully. And yes, I have lost to Shelly before in test runs so she is not a pushover. She just goofs up a lot as you've seen (and the burning field cripples her a lot). Shade I feel is a complete troll. You should be fine with that team, but man does he hit hard. You should consider yourself fortunate he doesn't have the Spiritomb anymore. I mean it's nowhere near as broken as Corey's Mega Beedrill, but that thing was scary after a Calm Mind.
