"Uhmn, I'm afraid that's confidential young miss." the scientist replied. "And the order came from a higher autority level than that of Dr. Neummann, I'm afraid." The scientist replied to Satomi.

Ranga was shaken awake by the sudden intrusion of the armed personell. Her feet stopped swinging as she looked at the arriving people and frowned in worry. She couldn't guess why she was being asked to come...really she had no idea at all! And honestly, they scared her like a child should be scared when someone addressed them in such manner. Especially considering the scientist person didn't sound all that sure of what he was saying anyways...

Satomi thankfully intervened, but to no avail, and Ranga stood up to walk over to the men. "Thank you and s-sorry...I guess we must go?" She turned to Beverly. She wouldn't budge unless the older girl came with her, though, so the soldiers would need to carry her out by force if they wanted to take her alone.

Ahmed dashed from place to place as he tried his best to check his communicator's contacts while frantically trying to obtain directions from an array of increasingly confused looking people.

He eventually managed to find his brother's contact information after finally remembering how to use the search function on the communicator.

It was a very confusing conversation, he would ask where his brother was in Arabic, and his brother would simply reply with a string of expletives before asking who this was.

He eventually managed to arrive in front the room his brother and sister was located, and he gingerly knocked on the door.

Beverly glared at the scientist as he told her and Ranga to go with him she didn't like that. why the hell would he need armed escorts for taking them somewhere? Once Ranga went and stood by them ready to go Beverly shook her head "I guess i can't let the Little Miss go and do something by herself so i guess i'm going as well." She said as she got up and walked over to the scientist while still glaring at him. "Let the Shrink know why we are gone will ya Princess." she sad as she passed Satomi "I wonder if there will be any Rats tunnels were we are going this time?" she said with sigh and a slight smile towards Kyou as she stood waiting for the scientist to lead the way.

Satomi had a bit of an idea. She... really didn't like the idea of letting Beverly and Ragna go alone for some reason. Never mind that Ragna herself seemed scared at the prospect. Probably the same as her suspicions earlier, and her hunches. She didn't like being the one to bring it up, but it might do something for those suspicions - she hoped it didn't cause a reaction. She adjusted her glasses again. "...Well, there aren't really that many people higher on the chain than Doctor Alma, and I can't think of why the Admiral or Father would want those two in particular. But if one of them is asking for them, what can we do?" she leaned back on the doctor's desk. She nodded to Beverly. "Of course. She'll be wanting an explanation anyway."

Ranga, Beverly, Satomi & Kyou

Well then, let´s get going. I´t would be good if you could walk fast." The scientist said awkwardly, showing he wasn´t comfortable at all with the task he´d been entrusted with. He turned away and walked with Ranga and Beverly in tow, the guards escorting them from their sides.
They walked quite a bit on the huge ship, now and then hearing the muffled sounds of the battle outside through the thick hull. Then they got through a reinforced door equipped with iris identification security, walked a bit more in a narrow corridor, and got out in the hangar that Kyou and Ahmed had found earlier.

Besides the huge dimensions of the place and the all too obvious Evangelions locked in there, now they could see that the place was also a command center of sorts. People shouted orders, ran around the giant robots´ bodies checking them and doing maintenace. They were taken to a glass cabin around the level of the EVAs´ heads through a lift and there were met by a big man in blue uniform, well in his fifties by his looks, tall, with grey hair and beard and blue eyes. Along with him was the familiar face of Doctor Daisuke Hashimoto.

Both of them looked away from the monitors they were watching and turned to face the girls. The big man´s concerned expression softened a bit as he looked at the children, while Dr. Hashimoto´s remained neutral.

"Oh well. Beverly Connors and Ranga Durian." The big man spoke with his grave voice. "I´m Admiral Adalard Sauer, Captain of Arc-01 Noah, and this is Dr. Daisuke Hashimoto, head of the Science Division and Anti-Angel Research Team. I really wish we didn´t need to do this at all, and surely not in such short notice but..." He stopped a bit, let out a sigh, and then finished, pointing at the titans on the other side of the windows. "...Will you pilot those Evagelions for us?"

Ahmed
The door was opened immediately and the worried expression of his sister greeted him. "Ahmed, are you ok? Any news on father and mother?"

Satomi had, almost immediately as the group left, wrote a quick note to the Doctor explaining what they were doing and then got into the maintenance shaft, waiting for Kyou. "You know, I was a good girl before today. Now, twice in an hour I disobey orders from an adult." she said as she waited for Kyou to lead the way.

"Heh. My bad." Kyou climbed up into the shaft, and immediately started moving toward where she believed the soldiers were going. It didn't take her long to realize something; she'd been this way already today. ". . . No way. They're taking them to the Eva hangar."

Satomi raised an eyebrow. "Eva hangar?" she asked as the pursued. "Are there... more of them?" ...One, you could explain. Hidden on the ship by some suspicious minds. A dedicated hangar for them? No way he didn't know about it when he was so involved in the design of the ship. "Father, what are you doing...?" she muttered quietly as they approached... she caught a glimpse through a grate. "They're going up. Is there a ladder or a lift or something?"

"Six," she said to the first question. "I've been in here twice. Ahmed saw too, the second time." At the second question, she looked around slightly frantically. "Uhhh, hold on, there should be. . . I don't actually know this area that well, but if it's anything like the others, it should be around the corner a little bit." Sure enough, ducking around the one of the corners of the rather large room lead to a set of ladders - a set, because they needed to reach several levels of the room and up to the heads of the EVAs. "Well, let's get climbing. . ."

Satomi nodded, following. They climbed a few levels, but it was obvious they weren't making good time... until on one of the levels, they found a maintenance lift - turns out that when you're fixing something as big as the hangar it's probably smart not to have to climb to Eva-head-height yourself. "Let's take this..." Satomi said, and up they go.

They'd managed to make it to the observation deck just as the girls were brought there - a small grating in the vent let them see and hear what happened below. Satomi wasn't very surprised to see her father there, nor the Admiral. What surprised her is what was said - get them to pilot those things? Just, out of the blue, no training?

---

Before they'd started climbing, Satomi had sent a communicator message to Ahmed - [Officers took Ragna and Beverly. Seem to be going to Eva hangar. Maintenance shafts.]

Ahmed immediately hugged his sister before he replied by saying "I'm fine but our mother and father are still stuck outside and they are separated from each other! And it gets worse". He momentarily glanced around the sparsely decorated room to try and find his shifty younger brother, but he quickly realized that the reason why he was having trouble with finding the other Ahmed was in fact due to the man just not being there in the first place. "There is a giant monster called an 'angel' outside, and it's rampage is only being checked by a cool looking giant robot! Although I do wonder why they only sent one out of six for this...".

His sister had a look of complete and utter confusion on her face when she hurriedly replied with "Woah...wait what?". But of course he chose to ignore her for a moment as he released her from his panic hug, and he shrugged his shoulders after finally deciding that it would be a good idea to just try and tell the truth/ "The only way this could get weirder is if I told you that the giant monster was apparently summoned by some creepy girl". He stopped speaking again for dramatic effect before he continued by saying "Because that was actually something that happened".

His sister simply replied by giving him a standard 'Oh for the love of' look before she said "Ok Ahmed, stop there. This is not the time to be playing make believe games. Are father and mother really locked outside?". To this he could only respond by looking at his sister directly in her eyes in an attempt to convince her that he is telling the truth before saying "Unfortunately yes, I think he was still running outside when I called him....I hope they are fine".

Beverly smiled at Doctor Hashimoto "Nice to see you again Dr. Hashimoto. How's your daughter doing?" She said with a bit of sarcasm in her voice. She then turned looked over the Eva's and thought for a few moments before turning back to the Admiral. "Well i would be more the happy to get in one of those, but I have no clue how to pilot one. It's not something they went over a before I became a ice cube." She said glancing over to Ranga to see what her answer would be.

Ranga obediently followed the men all the way through to when they finally reached their destination, and her throat knotted at the sight of the Evas...like the one outside fighting that Angel...

The appearance of Satomi's dad reassured her yet only momentarily as she saw his face that wasn't at the very least welcoming in this situation. The young girl nodded towards the Captain and smiled meekly at the mention of piloting the Evas. Not an expectant or happy smile, just a smile. Probably a shocked one. Beverly was the first to speak, addressing the matter at hand. Meanwhile Ranga glanced out through the windows at the Evas, catching the glimpse of a yellow one. She turned to the Captain quickly thereafter. What piloting the Eva meant would be to fight the Angel?

"W-would we be able to help everyone outside if we piloted the, the...E...E..?" She uttered softly as he head dropped and her face reddened. Water gathered in the corners of her eyes but she kept the tears of fear at bay for now. Holding her hands together, she waited, yet she already knew the answer.

Regardless of that, hope was the best quality of a child, and she still somehow hoped they'd tell her it wouldn't change anything so she wouldn't need to feel bad if she just ran off...

Beverly, Ranga, Satomi, Kyou

Dr. Hashimoto's expression didn't change a bit after hearing the children out, but for some reason beverly felt something like cold hate from the man after her mention to Satomi. He didn't wait around much longer after that, going back to the monitor and putting on a headset.

"... Don't mind Daisuke, he is just worried with the situation." Admiral Sauer said. "And as for your questions, yes. While I know that sounds crazy, it is the only way we have to defeat that Angel and save everyone in and outside the ship. I don't have time to explain the details now, but you two are the only ones with a chance of doing it, and the pilot we have needs backup urgently." He tried to use a calm tone after noticing Ranga's anxiety, but how much that would work with his grave voice and intimidating look was unknown to him. "She's a brave girl just like you, and she's pulling it. I know it's unreasonable, but we are in this kind of position right now. You both agree to give it a try?"

Ahmed

Ahmed's communicator beeped, and he hurried to check if it was a message from his parents, getting a slight disappointment upon seeing it was Kyou's. Reading it's contents, however, his eyes widened and excitement was written all over his face. Armed soldiers are taking two damsels to the monster's den?

He couldn't stay out of something like that.

"Sorry sis but I got to go save-some-girls-in-distress-and-maybe-convince-someone-to-let-me-pilot-a-super-cool-robot-so-bye keep an eye on little Ahmed for me." the boy said in a single breath, before turning around and dashing away shouting what he wanted to shout since the moment he woke up.

"ONWARDS, TO ADVENTURE!!!"

...and leaving two really confused siblings behind.

Beverly had a smug grin on her face as Doctor Hashimoto turned back around to the monitor and put on the head set. She looked at Ranga and frowned a bit "I will pilot it its not like it would be a big loss if something happened to me, but you shouldn't make the Little Miss get in one people actually like her" Beverly said hesitating a little before putting a hand on Ranga's shoulder doing her best to reassure the girl. "So what do I need to do." she asked the Admiral.

Ahmed would soon realize that he still didn't know where the giant robot hangar was located after he had already walked a fair distance. This is why he immediately pulled out his communicator before he sent a short text to Satomi saying "Okay, I still don't know where that is....do you know how I can get there from the Doctor's office?". Immediately after he pressed the send button he would start running towards the doctor's office in an attempt to try and find a way inside of the maintenance tunnels he had taken earlier.

It was quite a good thing that Satomi had managed to find the 'silence' function on her communicator (and pointed it out to Kyou), or they might have just got caught.

TO: Kyou

FROM: Satomi

Send Ahmed directions - he wants to get here too.

I... what's going on? Why those two to pilot? Why do we even have those Evas? Why is Father the one directing their development? This is so confusing...

Ranga, Beverly, Satomi & Kyou

"You´re a brave girl, miss Beverly." Admiral Sauer told her, actually surprised at how easily the older girl accepted the absurd proposal - and not sure that it was a good thing for her. "Ok then. We´ll get you in right now and instruct you via radio. Come with me."

Adalard signaled for one of the officers to start the preparations and led the girls outside of the room and near the monstrous heads of the Evangelions. There they were directed to a  white, cilindric structure located behind one of the Evangelion robots. "That´s the entry plug, it´s from where you´ll pilot. Just go inside and sit on the cockpit, then we´ll set things for launch. And don´t be afraid if you feel it filling with liquid - it´s a substance called LCL, you can breath in it normally, and helps synchronizing your thoughts with the EVA." He held the door open to Beverly while the maintenance crew worked frantically around them.

Not sure. probably worried about whats happening right now. your dads the science director right? it makes sense

directions going out now.

Kyou's fingers tapped out a storm on the screen, trying to get the instructions on how to get to the hangar out to Ahmed as quickly as possible. She briefly wondered if it was a good idea to do so, given that she'd led Satomi here largely on impulse and it wasn't necessarily the wisest thing and that bringing Ahmed in would only make the consequences she imagined even worse. Kyou belatedly realized that she'd forgotten to pull the hatch cover in the doctor's office shut; that was unfortunate, but at least it would let Ahmed find it easier - and give the doctor a better idea of where they went.

Ranga stayed quiet as she listened to the Captain. Saddened slightly by the way Satomi's dad treated them, she was more than willing to accept whatever courtesy the larger man had to offer as compensation, and his words revealed the fact he wasn't as willing as the scientist to let them into these robots.

She was just about to say something in return to confirm she was going to pilot it when she heard Beverly's voice and looked up at the girl's face with widened eyes. "Y-you can't go alone, they said they needed both of us!" She protested, pulling at Beverly's sleeve. She gave up though and let it go as they led them towards the Evangelions.

She really didn't want to pilot one. Maybe she could just let Beverly do it alone?

Ranga split from Beverly and walked up to the Captain, pulling his sleeve to catch his attention. Looking down, she spoke up. "Will Beverly be okay if she goes alone? The red Evangelion will keep her safe, right?"

Ranga, Kyou, Satomi

The entry plug´s door closed behind Beverly, and a moment later the heavy machinery of the hangar lifted the cilinder and started to position above the back of the Evangelion´s neck. Then they heard the heavy metalic sound of it´s armour plates moving and the plug was introduced in the robot´s chest, plates closing over it again afterwards.

"Will Beverly be okay if she goes alone? The red Evangelion will keep her safe, right?"

Admiral Sauer looked at Ranga eyes before speaking more seriously. "I can´t promise anything, miss Durian. Actually we are in such a hurry because the pilot of Unit 02 is at her limit... She may be enough, but every reinforcement we can get for them does count." He didn´t think trying to calm Ranga down in this situation would be the best solution - they didn´t even know if Beverly would manage to move the EVA, let alone fight using it, but it was still worth the shot.

Ahmed
Ahmed was quick to follow the directions sent by Kyou once he received them - still went straight past the route in certain points due to over eagerness to get into an adventure, but nothing that he couldn´t handlecoming back a bit and then onwards again.

He was almost arriving when he heard some well known voices beneath him, and hurried to find a grate to look through. He managed to see Beverly entering the plug, and then Oh my oh my, she IS GETTING IN THE F#RKING ROBOT! He thought he was coming to save the girls, but they were going to pilot these things? Talk about unexpected developments.
The boy quickly texted Kyou to let her know he was right above the EVAs and then kept looking with his cheek pressed hard against the grate.

Beverly
It was a bumpy ride to get inside the EVA; once the plug actually stopped shaking and all the weird metallic noises stopped, it started to fill with LCL - an orange liquid a bit more dense than water - and a voice sounded from the cockpit´s radio. "Well miss Beverly, are you confortable? Ready to start?"

Ranga halted her breathing as she watched Beverly disappear into the insides of the entry plug and afterwards, the Eva as well. She bit her lower lip at the Captain's words and waited to see how Beverly would be able to use the Evangelion.

If worst came to worst, she'd rush into one herself...

Kyou sighed. "Satomi, come on. He's gonna get lost or fall out of a hatch if we don't go to him." She tapped the other girl on the shoulder and quickly lead the way up and over, navigating in Ahmed's direction. This is just too insane. Way, way too insane. Evas, Angels, my being here for the third time, now Beverly's an Eva pilot for some reason. . . Mom and Dad. . .  She hurriedly pulled out her communicator, and tapped out a message while they moved. Are you ok? please answer, sent to both of her parents and her brother at once.
