Jade O'Duffle

Jade Draws out his Revolver, which is currently loaded with Basic Rounds. He prepares himself to shoot the first enemy that he sees as they arrive at the station. "Aye, I agree with the lass. There's no telling what this black sludge does to critters before it's too late."

Gary pulls out his sword. "We might want to stop... if these things are anything like the mosters where I come from, it would be best to stay out of sight until we know we have the advantage."

Jade Shoots  one of the bees out of the sky as they approach.

Gary's request is met with disagreement, as the mechanical rail riding spider speeds past the station.

The Bees summon themselves, but Mitsu's Storm Sign Instantly wipes all of them with a wild exploding wave of wind ofuda, dealing 15 Damage (12 Dex + 3 Syn)

Things quickly escalate in difficulty as the Active Glwoing rails speed up the Mech, allowing the group to make their way to the central chamber faster and faster.

They begin going around a large tower, they won't be entering it yet, according to the rail, but they are skimming near it.

There are a lot more hazards on the rails above them, and judging from the spiral shape, they WILL be encountered in that order.

Mines Incoming!: Dark Bombs have been attached to the rails, or at least, they look like bombs, judging from the glowing and Pulsating... Next Turn, the Player highest on the Initiative Ladder will take 2d12 damage and lose 1d4 Dex, This skill gains a 2% miss Chance for each point of damage done to the "Boss" while this skill is active.

Gap in the Rails!: A huge chunk of the Rails have been eaten away, forcing players to jump over. Players Roll 1d20+Dex v 1d20+Dex next turn, if they fail, they lose 1d4 Dex, if their dex reaches 0 as a result of this skill, they fall into the Abyss.

Dark Blobs Incoming!: Honeycombs of massive Proportions are on the rails, full of blue Eco: The Player who is highest on the Initiative Ladder can choose to break one, Spilling blue eco over the allies behind him, and raising everyone’s Dex by 1.  This has a 1d2 chance to splatter the person breaking it with dark wax, lowering their Dex by 1d4.

Jade O'Duffle (5/6 Basic Rounds)

Seeing the mines on the tracks, Jade does not like the thought of being blown up. So he decides to shoot them before they run over them. Besides, since he's in the front he'd probably take the most damage from the explosions. With his mind set he fires at the closest bomb to them.

Aim to Kill the mines on the rail with basic rounds.

Mitsurugi assesses the situation. Those containers of Dark Eco - she believed that's what they called it - would no doubt be dangerous. She attempts to dislodge them by deftly flying forth and knocking them to the side, or, if that is impractical, prematurely detonate them (or knock them off) with a mixture of ofuda throwing and rattling up a good wind storm.

Being the only viable targets for the spectral sisterly duo, Kino and Enma command their spirits to attack any mines within sight in unison with ranged attacks.

Jade uses Aim to Kill, Dealing (1d6+6=5+6=11) 11 Damage to the mines, blowing up one of them.

Gary Guards, raising his defense accordingly.

Ritsu uses her chainsaw to lash out at mines, smacking them away from the Group, and dealing (1d4+9=1+9=10) 10 Damage.

Using her famous Storm Sign again, Mitsu deals (15+6) 21 Damage!  Several More Mines are thrown from the rails.

Kino and her sister attack at range, dealing (7+2d4+5=7+4+5=16) damage, and knocking off some of the last few.

(58% Miss Chance... Miss at 38!)

The remaining mines are easy to avoid, a few odd movements allowing the railrider to speed it by, and saving Jade a miserable fate.

They reach the top of the rails, and slowly tilt down, Rushing forward as they slide at a huge gap!

Jade, Kino, and her sister all keep their bearings, with Jade holding his feet to the ground admirably, while Gary's Single Minded shielding leaves him blind to the danger, Mitsu, trying to help him, also does not pay enough attention, and both of them are thrown to the back of the vehicle.  Ritsu slips and falls on her rear.

(1d4=2) They all lose 2 Dexterity.

Mitsu reaches out to Gary as he leans over the railing, arms flailing...

He falls.

The Sudden Stop: Players falling into the Abyss take 1d100 Damage Next Turn.

Mitsu and Ritsu have to re-obtain their bearings, their dexterity change forcing a reroll for their initiative. (---)

Ahead of them, several cracks in the wall pour out Black Sludge, spewing over the railing...  This is going to hurt.

A few things end up falling onto the Spider Mech.

Black Wax: A Strange Beeswax that once clogged the rails.  It has a honeycomb full of blue eco inside, and the wax itself seems to absorb energy, creating a dark aura as it absorbs light, and a cold sensation as it absorbs heat. When used, the user gains 3 Dex for 2 Turns, and Their Cooldowns lower by a free turn as the energy flowing through them increases their speed and energizes their bodies and tools.

26 Precursor Orbs

Explosive Honeycomb: A Honeycomb full of Glowing Red Energy, when thrown, deal 5d6 damage once.

Black Acid: A Liquid Honey suffused with Dark Eco.  The user has -10 MHP while this is in their inventory.  When used, reduce a Target’s Con and RES by 2 for the remainder of combat.

Free Loot, one thinks grimly.

Mitsurugi, in the chaos, spots the strange blocky man falling into the abyss below. Wordlessly, she rushes to the edge of the platform, swings over it, and smoothly kicks off of it towards him, flying toward him in an attempt to catch him. She could catch up to the rest of the group later, rescuing this mortal took priority.

Jade O'Duffle (4/6 Basic Rounds)

"Gary!" Jade spoke in concern as the block man fell of the machine. Luckily Mitsurugi is going after him. He can't be forcing one them however, or he'll be next off. Seeing the flow of acid coming down in front of them, Jade thinks of ways to quickly clear the path. He quickly rolls back and reloads his gun with Cryo Rounds (Combat Roll) and then aims at the flow of the acid falls and fires an icy bullet. (Aim to Cripple) Hopefully this freezes the flow long enough to create an opening for them to pass through.

Combat Roll and reload with Cryo Rounds then use Aim to Cripple as a free action at the acid's source.

Ritsu examines some of the wax that had ended up on the platform and decides to hold onto it for later. Perhaps it could prove useful. Looking up to see the acid waterfalls, she frowns a bit and tries to figure out a way to avoid the acid's effects. Glancing under the platform that she is on, she notices an empty area between the platform and the legs attached to the rails, held up by an extended arm.

"This should work," Ritsu mutters as she goes down to the arm, wrapping her tail around it so she won't fall off.

Jade Starts by firing an icy cryogenic round at the source of one of the acid waterfalls.

It succeeds in blocking the flow of the first one.

Mitsu Reaches Gary just as he slams into the ground, it is pitch black all around, but the crunch is unmistakable.

Gary is Afflicted with the following Wound.

(SUBJECT TO CHANGE) Broken Bone: The user's leg is broken, Halving their Initiative.

Gary is Unconscious.

Having used Flight, Mitsu is immune to hazards, but has forfeit her Initiative.

Ritsu Climbs to the bottom of the Mechanical Spider, clinging to an arm.

Everyone but Ritsu, Mitsu and Gary take 1 damage...

That Acid seems to have looked much more threatening than it was?..

The rail comes to a stop in front of a hallway, leading down a long corridor.  At the other end, a door is clogged with black honeycombs, and holes in the walls peek out and around the door itself.

Everyone who is on gets off, and the spidermech does as well.

The shark rushes forward, heedless of Alexandria's Words, then, abruptly, it rises up, breaching the surface and revealing that it is indeed a robotic landshark

It Promptly raises up even further, revealing something like a shrine, embedded in it's underside, a Metal Statue with glowing eyes and a large probuscus-like mouth sitting within the cavity.

"This place was abandoned for a reason, Danger levels are beyond estimated thresholds for singular entities, evacuate immediately, or pass the test."

"Do you comply.  What Methods facilitate compliance."

It sits there, upright and embedded in the hard earth.

"I have yet to find myself in great peril in this location," Alexandria observes mildly, "I believe your assessment underestimates myself and my subordinates.  However, I have no desire for unnecessary conflict.  What does your test entail?"

"When the danger is planet wide, not falling into peril at a given location does not lower the danger level."

"This portal and your presence demands that we remove you if you fall between the power levels of local wildlife and the power level needed to survive and prevent assimilation or breach of quarantine."

Mitsurugi hurriedly tears a scrap of cloth from Gary's clothing and draws out the closest thing a goddess of her nature could come to a healing spell; something to draw out the impurities present in the body and contain them in the paper so that they could be disposed of later. If she were being completely honest with herself, it was more suited to a therapeutic treatment than something to do to someone who was at risk of dying. It was also odd that something like this was eliciting such. . . panic, as one part of her noted as if it were commentating on the experience. She had no idea what prompted such a reaction; mortal lives passed all the time, and one wasn't a particularly big deal. Perhaps it was that he was such an unknown to her. . .

She scooped up Gary in her arms gently, the pitch blackness not impeding her unduly. She lifted him, trying to keep him as still as possible, and leapt upward to rejoin the rest of the party. Hopefully, someone there would know how to treat the strange, blocky man.

Jade O'Duffle

Jade got off the spidermech and waited patiently for those who have fallen, literally, to return. He couldn't fly so there was no way to go meet up with them half-way but luckily it didn't take too long. As Mitsu landed holding Gary in her arms, Jade worryingly heads over to them. "Is Gary okay? That was a pretty major fall back there." He asks Mitsu, assuming Gary was at least knocked out after that fall if not worse.

Alexandria uses her internal comms and a gamma-spectrum laser to paint the shark construct for a sniper strike, contingent on a signal from herself.  Best to be prepared if peaceful relations go to the scrap heap.  In theory, the harmless laser wouldn't alert the construct, as it was very far above the visible spectrum.  "Are you able to describe "the threat" to me?  If you can, please do so."

". . . I do not know. I could not. . ." Couldn't reach him in time. She'd reacted too slowly again, done too little too late. "S-Someone please tend his wounds. I do not have the ability to step so far outside my sphere. . ." She sets Gary down, and walks stiffly over to one wall, eyes wide open. She puts one hand on the wall to steady herself - she seems to be trembling slightly. Outside, rain seems to be beginning to fall, and the distant rumbling of thunder sounds. . .
