  1. Yeah, it's never easy for someone who just started playing a game to avoid being spoilered when visiting the forum that belongs to said game. Like Dreamblitz said, most regulars here have already completed the game. But Reborn has so much story that even if we talk freely, chances are high you won't get spoilered on the same level as if it were a normal Pokémon game, where basicly nothing really important ever happens XD On the other hand that also means you have tons of really cool people here who'll be nice enough to help you if you ever find yourself getting lost in the game, or of you can't beat a certain fight....
  2. If i am not mistaken the best chance to get Mawile at this point would be the Railnet Puzzle Room. As far as i know that room has an encounter rate of 9% for Mawile.
  3. I took quite the liking to your blue Volcarona, @Arkadius. I took it an created a matching Larvesta sprite as well. This is what i made of it: Now i'm using them in my Reborn playthroughs, so i'm here to say thx^^
  4. For the most part i like the custom shiny sprites of Reborn and Rejuvenation. However, for some of them i decided to overwrite them wih sprites from the other game. I like the shiny Beldum evolution line of Reborn for example, so i copied them into Rejuvenation. On the other hand i like the Rejuvenation shiny forms of Alolan Grimer/Muk, so i copied those over to Reborn. But there are also some shiny sprites that i just HAD to give my own touch, like i did with Flareon. Sometimes i also see people sharing some nice sprites here on the forum. There was this one shiny Volcarona sprite for example, that i really liked. So i took it and created a matching shiny Larvesta sprite as well. Now i am using both of them in my game.
  5. Yeah, thx for the tips^^ I already have Meowstic covered with Fake Out, as well as an Alolan Raichu. I already did several runs of EP 18, and i took some notes, so i guess i should be able to prepare carefully. I just need some luck on the draw when hunting for new Mons XD And you're right, Reborn is fun with any kind of nuzlocke^^
  6. Nah, i'm just some random guy who likes to do some recoloring on his shiny Pokémon sprites.
  7. You still need to recover, but it seems you are ok otherwise, so we don't need to worry XD But yeah, not being able to do much also means you are probably bored and need to distract yourself by doing whatever you can do. Look at the bright side though: You now have an excuse to binge watch all the anime (or other series/movies) on your list that you wanted to watch but didn't have the time for.
  8. Since the Solaris fight is one you are supposed to lose, you usually don't count that one at all. Yes, there are ways to win fights like that (like the Prankster + Perish Song Murkrow you mentioned), but in general it is intended for the player to lose those fights. Your Pokémon are somewhere between level 40 and 45 at that point, you obviously won't stand much of a chance against a level 75 Garchomp. So this is a "forced lose" battle. Also you may not get that Prankster + Perish Song Murkrow every time. You don't go soft resetting the game because the Pokémon you just got doesn't have the stats/ability/moves you wanted. The core of the nuzlocke challenge is to make use of the Pokémon you get, so soft resetting until you get what you want would defy that challenge.
  9. Since you liked my Flareon i took the liberty of doing some recolors to the Beldum evolution line for you. I gave i a little touch of my own, so the colors won't match 100%, but kept it as close to the original as i could. Have fun with those XD
  10. Paint.NET is a very good choice. You might also try and do your own recolors if you feel up to it. I did so for a few Pokémon sprites already. Paint.NET is a good choice for that as well. Here are my custom Flareon Sprites for example: Feel free to use them if you like them.
  11. I'm currently doing a nuzlocke myself, and right now i am preparing to face Serra. As of now i haven't lost a single Pokémon. I wonder how long i can keep this up XD My current Team that i want to use against Serra consists of my starter Infernape, Aggron, Primeape, Klinklang, Meowstic and Arcanine. I'll see whether my plan will work out or if i finally lose a Pokémon, but i am 100% confident that i will beat her with that team.
  12. Here comes Ametwo again......*throws Master Ball* Who needs Mewtwo, ima catch that Ametwo! And just like that he'll be in for another surprise in the next episode....And he'll cheese the Pulse Muk with Belly, like usual....Belly be the new Tiki! This guy proves that Blaziken is not the best starter! Best Mon is Gulpin^^
  13. So does Chimchar. The only reason why Torchic is "better" in the end is its ability to mega evolve. But here's another suggestion for a really strong, yet so much overlooked early game Mon: Caterpie! While Caterpie itself is really not that much, it turns into the fully evolved Butterfree at level 10, has 2 nice abilities, a decent move pool consisting of bug, flying and psychic attacks, 3 powder attacks and even Quiver Dance in the later parts of the game. Man, we should really pay more attention to overlooked Mons.....so many treasures to find XD
  14. Right, that is a bonus too. In my opinion Chimchar is superior as a starter compared to Torchic, because it doesn't need to rely on Speed Boost for its speed, and because it has a slightly better move pool in the early game. Once you reach the point where you can use move tutors on 7th street there won't be much difference in move pools between Infernape and Blaziken any more. And if you include Mega Blaziken we sure know who's the stronger Mon in the end game/post game. But since we are talking early game on this topic it was worth to mention in my opinion.
  15. Wait, you are locked out? As far as i know you can go back to Reborn City through the railnet at any time prior to the part where you go to Agathe Circus for the first time.....Correct me if i'm wrong though, but as far as i remember there is no lockout at that point.
  16. If we're talking about the best Pokémon in the game we should definetly not forget about Chimchar. While it lacks the Speed Boost ability that people tend to pick Torchic for, it features the Iron Fist ability and a really nice move pool even in the early parts of the game. It also compensates its lack of Speed Boost with a higher base stat in speed than the Torchic evolution line. With Mach Punch at level 14, in combination with the Iron Fist ability, and Flame Wheel at level 19, Monferno features 2 really good STAB moves even before the first badge, one of them even being a +1 priority move. Also, depending on how far into the game you would call "early game", it even learns Close Combat as soon as it hits level 36 and evolves to Infernape.
  17. Before he even gets to challenge Kiki, he'll still have to make it through Blacksteam Factory, past Cal on Pyrous Mountain and one more Victoria battle.....nothing of those seem really difficult, but since it really looks like he relies more on luck than actual skill for most of his fights we don't know what might happen.... Either way, we might be in for a surprise...
  18. Well, that's good news. If she's already at it again we really don't need to worry.......or maybe worry that she's overdoing it.....
  19. Yeeeesssss, bow to me, peasant! Worship your new god! AHAHAHAHA!!!! Wait......you mean bow down to TTar, right? Dammit....
  20. Hahaha, of course Ame knew where that came from.....nice^^ I wouldn't have expected any less from someone who puts that many references to other media into a single game.... Yeah......but it might be fun to see the doctor getting crushed by a "baby"
  21. TBH we also thought Mimikyu would give his Mightyena the bye-bye and yet the only Pokémon he lost was a low level Spearow that he decided to throw out as death fodder anyway.... We might be in for another surprise once this guy fights Kiki.....If he makes it all the way there that is.... Yeah well.....it sounds lame to just go Yawn/Stockpile/healing items on every fight, but that seems to be his new "strategy" now that he can't press that Tiki button any more.....but as long as it works it would seem it still counts as a win.... In terms of Mightyena i think the only real threat here was Mimikyu, since it is faster than Mightyena and has Play Rough. If it wasn't for Mimikyu anyone could just sweep Shade's gym with a Mightyena. You're right, this guy makes you wonder how people who actually try to prepare for battles by reading field notes and bringing Pokémon with type advantages could lose to fights like Shelly and Shade, while a guy who's doing a blind nuzlocke and doesn't prepare at all just beats them all.....He's 4 badges in now and the only real loss he has suffered was his Blaziken. Everything else he "lost" was just thrown out as death fodder anyway.... And here everyone says Torchic is the best starter Pokémon for Reborn, while TTar clearly proves that in reality Gulpin is the real MVP.^^
  22. Seriously, how did he cheese that fight that easily? This guy has more luck than all people who EVER won the jackpot in the lottery together....
  23. A Kriketot......well.......i imagine it to be way more punishment to be stuck as a Metapod for the rest of your life. Unable to move, unable to defend yourself and unable to evolve since someone veeeeery evil glued an Everstone right onto your back (I blame Heather! "Shut up, its's a prank!")......and all you can do is use Harden....like those Metapod you can catch in the wild.... Also, i am shocked that nobody got the Reborn reference from my last post XD
  24. Soooooo.....it's torture now? We're still talking about qeen Shelly, not Dr. Connal.....on the other hand....Why don't we call in a specialist for that?
  25. With every gym leader having 6 Pokémon it's easy to get a few things confused in terms of which Pokémon were changed and/or swapped out for every gym leader. Especially since the number of gym leaders you could actually battle went up over the episodes. And since we don't know very much about the things that may change with EP19 we might still be in for a surprise. However, thats fine.
