  1. As someone who regularly played Reju's Intense Mode, I had the biggest smile on my face looking through this. Reborn's always felt not-as-severe as Intense, but I'm certainly looking forward to testing my mettle against the invincible Lin. The problem with Dark-types is the lack of immune Pokemon, of course, but... Sturdy + Metal Burst should do the job nicely enough to get rid of that nuclear bomb of a Hydreigon even if I can't figure anything else out.

    Regarding Intense Mode

Being someone who avoids Discords on principle as I tend to be older than most of their users, I wasn't aware of that particular issue caused by Intense Mode's existence. That said, as I've played every Pokemon game since they've started coming out (exception of SwSh), I deeply loved how Intense felt as a challenge for someone as I who doesn't enjoy PVP but still wants difficult Pokemon content. However, it's just as easy to make the game more difficult for myself by applying restrictions on my own. As an example... If the game's too easy, it's time to try a Fairy-monotype and see if I can beat Venam with one Brionne. Having others mod the game to continue Intense is something I agree with in any case: people are already making difficulty mods for these fangames, so why not drop something that's taking away from your team's time and pass that work onto invested users? It's an excellent idea in terms of lessening your workload and it makes perfect sense in my opinion.
  3. For Nuzlocke runs, what happens with the almost-unwinnable battles? The Deathwing fight at Aqua, the X-Yveltal at Blacksteeple etc. I just fought Madelis's shadow mewtwo and three of my pokemon fainted and weren't revived after the end of the battle, so I figured I'd ask before I give up the run. Edit: revive items work, so I guess there's no reason to quit the run quite yet.
  4. Looks like it requires a fresh download of 13.05 rather than patching an older version. It's working now. Thanks!
  5. I can't get it to work. I'm putting the Mods folder into the data folder and copying over the map.001 file, but nothing happens. I also tried copying the ruby files directly from the mods folder into the scripts folder, but that makes it so the game won't load past the opening images. This is on v13.05, with only the Challenge Pack installed as I was only interested in a Nuzlocke with random encounters. This randomizer is only wild/acquired pokemon, right?
  6. What if Erin gave up her body/Archetype fragment to Melia to save her from the Genesis Syndrome and was transferred into a mechanical body? It seems like the sort of thing Erin would do, considering she's desperate to save her sister and doesn't seem the type to give a damn whether she's a person or in a person-shaped can. Considering that she mentioned that she was considering taking her own life before she met Melia, I can definitely believe she would go that far to keep Melia from dying. That Erin of the previous or alternate timeline would eventually go into different mechanical bodies until she reached the one we know as Madame X. Something must've happened to her along the way, over unknown years, to drive her to her current state and goals. Maybe the cost of what she did was to live in misery until she gets the Archetype back, or maybe she's learned of something that she needs Melia to do but the latter wouldn't be willing to do it. Perhaps the Xenpurgis is intended to prevent some greater tragedy, or by doing this she's sacrificing this reality to save another one.
  7. If you're desperate, you can get a Trubbish (low level ones start with Recycle) and teach it Fling and Thief with TMs. After that, find a trainer with a Focus Sash, use Thief, then Fling, then Recycle. If by chance the Sash gets used up on Garbodor taking a hit before you Fling, just use Recycle. That's how I scored an extra one. That said, Garb is a weak Pokemon, and you'll want to max its Speed and HP EVs to make this work well.
  8. I unironically support Truck Driver as an E8 member. I mean, the dude can drive you across the ocean (anywhere off Gearen), through Wispy Canyon or over the mountains, instantly. In a pickup truck. My bet? Psychic-type-based Baton Pass Stored Power sweep team. It'd make sense for a guy who's all about traveling. Rorim's also not too much of a stretch. Yeah, he's goofy, but he wanders all around Aevium and seems to have a habit of showing up where the player character is. I wonder if he's keeping an eye on the PC on purpose due to being an E8 member and working with Alexandra et al. If Augustus was E8-material, I feel like he'd have given the Xens attacking the ship a lot harder of a time, and someone at Blacksteeple would at least mention something like, "Damn, that old captain took out ten Deathwings before we brought him down!" or something like that. It would be interesting for 4 of the Elites to be based around a specific type/field and the other four to be based around specific strategies as seen in Insurgence's four. Also, is there any credence to the theory that Karrina and Karen are the same person at different points in her timeline due to Spacea/Tiempa being the haggises that they are and messing with her?
  9. In the v13.02 I beat it on, it doesn't have infinite PP like other bosses. I beat it by swapping back and forth between a Storm Drain Gastrodon and a Lapras after hitting it with paralysis with my first mon and as many Eerie Pulses as I could with Electrode, then Memento from a Pyukumuku. I beat it when it started struggling by Recover-ing on Gastrodon. Not the prettiest way to do it, and I don't know if it'll work in 13.04, but it got the job done.
  10. So something crossed my mind. We know it's possible to carry souls around. The soulstone the player carries, whatever Crescent did after she juiced the Nihilegos to get the A-team's souls back, etc. What if Madame X is someone we know's soul put into a machine body as we saw in the Amethyst Caves? It's not as functional as she'd like since the controls might not be perfect (Ren glitching out when he gets whacked), but it might also explain her Terminator-like resilience and unfamiliar appearance. Another idea I've had is, to figure out the culprit, we need to figure out their motivations. We already know Team Xen's current goal involves sacrificing an enormous amount of people, similar to Father in Fullmetal Alchemist's giant circle. Garufan magic costs lives to create stuff. Crests are the most prominent example, but it's certainly possible that there might be some sort of "Human Crest" created by sacrificing human lives, and that the battling and violence that Xen appreciated on Blacksteeple may be part of the ceremony. Another important question to consider is, "What is Garufan magic?" The civilizations we saw from a previous loop of existence (as they're stated to have no Pokemon left by both Ana and by material found in the Den of Souls) seemed far more scientific than magical, but that might be because they were at the very tail-end of their timeline. I wonder if there's anything else that might explain Team Xen's motivations.
  11. Pretty sure Geara was reading my stat-heal berries. It's how I baited his Pokemon into attacking rather than status so I could Sucker Punch them. Unless you just meant for that Narcissa fight?
  12. I've played through all of Intense, no items, set mode, and three fights stood out to me. The moment Saki got 2 megas was the moment I decided to Shedinja-seed her. That sort of cheapness doesn't deserve anything less than cheese; if you're going to cheese me, then I'll cheese you right back. The Geara fight beforehand was satisfying and difficult enough to be considered a final battle for this version anyway, although I get the feeling he's either a fake Geara, acting, got hypnotized somehow, or the spring healed not just his wounds but purged the pissant out of him. Another thing I hated was that Hazuki's pokemon had negative speed EVs. To me, anything the game does that the player could not ever do with the exception of from the single-Pokemon boss battles crosses a line. I thought something was strange when the Sirfetched outsped my Quiet, 0-IV Camerupt under TR, so I looked it up and saw negative EVs on the wiki. The other, much-earlier battle was Narcissa. Specifically, her Drifblim with Unburden + Hypnosis. The accuracy boost from the field + the enemy trainer accuracy boost in Intense (which is another thing I dislike, but whatever) makes for the fastest Pokemon in existence essentially using Spore as often as it wants. That's not an end-game boss strat, that's the third gym. No sleep-clause makes it so that you just have to sit there and hope you can wake up in time rather than switching into a reasonable response, and don't even think about using a Chesto Berry because the AI reads your items and will just attack or switch out instead. Ironically, one of the best counters for that is a Drifblim of your own if you can max its speed to KO Narcissa's with Hex.
  13. I beat him with the meme-team of five Donphans then a Wobbuffet to take down the Dragonite (extremespeed wrecks the Ice Shard strat). That's the only one of his with a priority move and he doesn't have any ghosts, so the Endeavor-Sturdy-Ice Shard combo again trivializes a single-battle gym. Have a high-leveled one with an Ice Gem for the Gliscor, though, it won't be at 1hp due to Poison Heal.
  14. I beat him on Intense with six underleveled Donphans with Endeavor+Sturdy+Ice Shard. Just make sure to give a couple Rawst berries for the Heat Wave pokemon. Poor chump doesn't have any ghosts or priority on Intense.
  15. I didn't lose with anyone, but now I've got nothing 18k when I had close to a million before. My team's fine, though, so it isn't worth re-loading IMO. Is there a fix for this? It was annoying enough to find out I was locked out of GDC when I wanted to upgrade IVs after the tournament, but this is just upsetting.
  16. Does anyone know if these changed IVs treated as "Hyper-Trained" and thus non-inheritable as they are in USUM/SWSH, or are they real IVs and therefore breedable onto new Pokemon? Edit: For others' reference, I can confirm that the IVs are real and inheritable.
  17. Not sure which method yields Pincurchin as I haven't looked for one myself yet, but if you're hunting for one (or any Electric) I recommend leading with a Static or Lightningrod Pokemon since it boosts your chances of hitting a wild Electric-type.
  18. You can also get Leftovers from Thief+Fling+Recycle on a trainer's pokemon equipped with them. I use a Garbodor (since it learns Recycle naturally and Thief+Fling from TMs) to collect items from enemy trainers. It seems like Bladestar grunts and double-battles tend to yield good stuff.
  19. For all those struggling with her, I won because Power Split averaged her Sp. Attack with that of a level 45 Indeedee. After that, I purified the field and poisoned her with Pyukumuku and she choked on Sylveon long enough for her HP to drop far enough for Golisopod to finish it. Thanks, Focus Sash.
  20. Has it been moved in 13.03? I burned through 70 fragments after Amber's badge, saw lots of blue/rare dens, and not a single Ditto in the Wispy Ruins-adjacent raid den.
  21. Not sure what type it should be, but, a Dawn Form Lycanroc would be interesting and fill out the last slot among the four of Day, Night, and Dusk. Maybe a defensive sort with Fluffy as a contrast with Dusk's Tough Claws. Also a fluffy Samoyed-looking Lycanroc would be adorable.
  22. The one I eventually got was level 38, so that might be the trick to getting it. I didn't realize repels worked in the safari zone, because my magnet pull wasn't bringing in the Cufant like I'd hoped.
  23. Is Cufant found here at a particular time of day? I want one since I saw someone saying that it's good against Angie in a Trick Room team, but I've SR'd three Safari Zone visits and not seen a single one. Edit: Found one after many resets. It ran away. I hate, hate, hate, hate the safari zone.
  24. I actually beat him with a similar strat to what you suggested: Tangrowth destroys Krookodile and comes out with 100% HP due to Giga Drain and Regenerator even after tanking the Z move. I beat Gengar by setting up Stealth Rocks by sending out my Coaloasol vs his Clefable, and then using Sucker Punch with an ev-trained Cacturne. That Cacturne also beat the Marowak with the same strat. Sucker Punch is excellent for these fights, since Cacturne's so fragile the AI always goes for the knockout if it calculates that it can get it. Another important factor in my victory was that I started with Cinderace and immediately switched into Magic Bounce Xatu, then attacked once, then swapped back. This results in there being no entry hazards on the field, but either Geara swaps into Marowak/Krook or loses Masq with only chip damage to Cinderace from Bug Buzz.
  25. I've been grabbing pretty much everything. With the exceptions of Shinx, Mincinno, Jigglypuff, and Sawk, I think I managed to gather up everything that was available before going to Blacksteeple. My mystery egg was Dhelmise. If it's available before this point in the story, I probably have it. I also have three Ice Shard Endeavor Donphans that I used to win the Deathwing battle, but they're hard to use against Geara's ghosts.
