After spending an absurd amount of gems, I've finally gotten to experiment with a halfway functioning Nephthys ritual deck. While effective (though inconsistent), hitting people with futuristic baseball bats has gotten a tad stale after 4(?) months.
I'll likely still use U.A. to help grind 120 wins by months end, but even with only two Cerulean Nephthys and one of the original Nephthys it's actually fairly consistent and useful
in Gold teir. I could (and likely will) remove the Dark Nephtys I got at some point to improve the consistency, but for now it's staying for style points. At least it's better than playing or facing the Yubel/Fire Kings/original Nephthys decks........though there may be more of them around since Yubel is unlockable for new players again.

(For whenever you get back?)--- It seems Master Asia has been confirmed playable by some people who got early copies. It least it isn't the J treatment where he wasn't playable or the OE one where he wasn't there at all......though I can't remember if any G Gundam characters besides Domon were there at all that game.
Edit: Replaced old videos with newer ones

Don't you love it when you're told you'll be out of somewhere by x time, then you're still there 6-7 hours later? Yeah, great day.....

I know I've posted this as a status before, but this thing still cracks me up when I see it.

The newish Ancient Gear structure deck continue to be a pain to deal with in Duel Links if you have a Cosmic Cyclone to banish Geartown (or if they don't brick). As ridiculous as U.A.'s damage potential can be for Slugger with backrow/monster effect disabling, it takes more setup and doesn't let you crap a 3k beater with a similar effect onto the field by destroying a field or continuous spell (which usually gets rid of one of your backrow because of the backrow destruction card in the structure deck). Not to mention, Reactor Dragon can usually summon another of itself at the end of the turn because of IT's destruction effect.
I'll take them over a third Slvan/Fur-Hire invasion or dealing with un-nerfed Cyber Angels (from what I've heard), but they are getting annoying, especially if they are packing Pulse Mines.

Of course Something Awful would put it's paywall back up before the translation of the epilogue got posted. At least the last stage came out before then..........even if I couldn't update my thread on this site with the links because it was archived. I thought I could at least edit the posts already there when archived but I guess not....

I've been following the Fantasy Maiden Wars translation LP since Oct/Nov 2017, and it's switched between up and down somewhere between 7 and 10 times......I just stopped counting exact figures at some point. Sometimes it's open for months before closing, while this time it was only open a few weeks; another time it closed for a single day before opening up for another month or two.
I'm sure that also is to incentivize people to buy an account, but the site's main selling point for paid accounts is still that you need one to access their abundance archived threads. Having the paywall for current threads be this inconsistent is just an annoyance as far as I can see, and just following one thread has been a trying experience.

Seems the spirit of high quality video games rips has returned

If this generation has an 'enhanced version', it's obvious what the naming choice will be:

My chest hurts just looking at this thing.

R.I.P. Banpresto. At least you will live on as part of Bandai Spirits, in our hearts, and within SRX's headpiece.

Finally, I've caught up with all of Kemono Friends 2, which is only six episodes right now. Overall feeling: mixed but somewhat optimistic about it. It's still a CGI (though better this time) children anime that at least is trying to recapture the hidden depths of the first one.
Also, the OP is still great, though not as catchy as the first anime's OPSpoilerConsidering the fallout of Tatsuki's (the director/salvage of the first anime/franchise) wrongful firing, many weren't really expecting much from this......and I can't say I was either. Even with the new director's earnestness in staying near Tatsuki's vision of a S2, the whole thing. Even with this trepidation, it's my personal ideal to at least watch a series fully before judging it.
Overall, it's very similar, with a few borrowed episode structures from S1 so far, and is somewhat trying to pull of the mystery aspect......just not as subtly. Then again, fans would expect the subtle I suppose, especially after season 1, so maybe it will be a complete curve......already got one in Episode 5. So far, the differences are enough to set it an appropriate distance apart, though. A different enough main character with a completely different conflict is enough to help in that regard (even if their designs are a bit too similar), while the sketchbook plot device adds a character distinction Kaban never really got in S1.
SpoilerI was going to not how they seemed to have dropped the light educational aspects from the first one (with their informative transition scenes), but it seems they had to cut from non-Japanese distribution because they licensed National Geographic footage. Commercial rights, continuing to be an ever present pain.
While episode 11 was the first major emotional shock of the Season 1, this one basically had it for Episode 5 assuming you watched S1. Then Episode 6 hints at how this sequel came about..........even if the episode was a bit underwhelming from the expectations. It was understandable in terms of plot I suppose, and the fanart from episode alone is enough. Spoilery screenshots:

I'm definitely sticking through, even though I still have my expectations tempered.

999 rep. At this moment THE STRONGEST resonates strongly within me...........but I'm not changing my profile pic to Cirno again just for this meme.
SpoilerSpoilerSpoiler -
I'm glad the 'Interrupting Squidward's Bath' meme seems to be making a comeback. At least rebooting memes have a higher recent success rate than rebooting TV series.

Why am I just finding out that CaptainDisillusion exists? This channel's awesome yet barely over 1 million subscribers.

Finally after more than 2 months, the translation for the last
normalFantasy Maiden Wars chapter was posted. Hype was through the roof when I saw this a few hours ago. It also means the completed translation patch is even closer, especially since they show off their in-game translation progress here.https://lpix.org/sslptest/index.php?id=153402
The attack animations for the final boss. They really put their all into these, even giving her two different cut-ins.
SpoilerR.I.P. Fairies and Wolf Tengus, casualties of her final attack.....every time she used it. Also, quite a few quick references to the past 3 games which really ties everything together
SpoilerIncludes animated idle sprites on the stats screen, with the last one being very shiny
SpoilerFor comparison, her earlier sprites
SpoilerSpoilerFinal Boss theme
SpoilerIn typical Super Robot Wars fashion, a remix of the intro theme for the last leg of the battle, though sadly not done by Jam Project.

The best Valentines related pic I've seen all day. Now to forget about this day for another year.
-
The time of year where you can sometimes find chocolate on sale for the next week. Obligatory Valentines post aside, here's a bonus semi-related video.
It's not quite Valentines themed (and I could find a more thematic Touhou video if I stooped to Precious Things) but it's close enough in the crush department......plus Fairy/cute animation bias. I can't embed the subbed version, so I'll just leave a link while embeding the raw.

I'm glad that they left the unreal engine(?) code in Smash Force, so that people could already mod Shaggy into it.
SpoilerSpoiler -
Something Awful's paywall is down for the first time in over a month, and the translation for the final Fantasy Maiden Wars: Dream stage still isn't out on the thread there.
With my luck it won't be posted until after the paywall is back up. Typical luck.

Really wanting to catch up on Kemono Friends 2 after getting a spoiler thrown at me, even if I'm still skeptical about the thing.

The meme given consciousness, Tommy Wiseau, is apparently directing another movie.......about sharks this time.
If I could think up a funny 'Jumping the Shark' joke, I would put it here.

Finally made it to DLV 15 in this quarter's KC Cup. The Anienct Gears from the new EX structure deck are becoming annoying soon out of the gate.
To steal a joke from Rata, my experience with U.A. with only 2 Midfielders and without the 'Balance' skill:

I didn't expect Active NEETS to release a piano cover of Lifelight (Smash U theme), given how infrequently they upload non-Touhou covers. Good cover, imo.
Reimu for Smash DLC confirmed -
I don't know why I like hearing about speedrunning info from a game I've never played, but I still find it entertaining.

Not sure if you are interesting in Transformers or Mazinger Z as much as Zoids or G Gunam, but you might find this interesting. It does indeed seem to be actually happening.
