By the time I'm out of from the doctor's appointment, the internet will have already exploded from the Pokemon Direct.  It's a bit more fun seeing the immediate reaction rather than seeing the echos a few hours later.

Still sad that Flygon never got it's planned canon mega, especially since they seemed to have veered away from Megas after Gen 6 (after giving Megas to many Pokemon that didn't need them)  unless the pokemon direct hints at more in Gen 8.

Finally trying Renegade Platinum again.  After too many tries I finally beat the obstacle that partly dimished my interest the last time I played:  actually beating Barry in the first battle using either Chimchar or Piplup.  I never tried with Turtwig, but Pip and Chim could never get enough damage in until I finally just Growl-spammed the one time Turtwig didn't Withdraw-spam.   That was the most annoying first battle of any Pokemon game I've played.

I know you don't have to win, but still.....

It's interesting to hear about the history of this nostalgic game (which the video reminded me is getting a remake soon). 

Honestly, this is still the only Zelda game I've actually played myself, either because of lack of console or (currently) still not being good at controlling faster paced games on my laptop.  Even with emulators, I'm used to either controllers or something I put my hands around.

Another case of not liking a character but liking their theme music (and most remixes/arrangements of it), which I may as well bring up since I wanted to post about Lyrica Live's new Lyrical Touhou adaptation.  Eiki Shiki's theme from Touhou 9 (PoFV).

I'm not a fan of songs with any sort of 'intro' (for lack of a better term) even if it fits her lectures, so I count the song starting at 35 seconds.  The fairy chorus is a nice touch along with her being able to successfully sing over them for the most part.  As per usual, her 'judgments' at 3:20 are the best part about her for me......this part just flows so well while being accurate to the characters she is talking about.   

It's kind of sad that I only really like her for providing more insight into other characters, especially since she is one of the few genuinely well-meaning Touhou characters.

It's hard to believe E.A. actually did something rather amazing (or at least cool) back in the day, even if it failed in the end.

Well screenshots all three new demo Touhous are online.  Time to see if either the demo itself or their themes get put online first.

ZUN revealed the design of a new Touhou character 20 minutes ago and there is already fanart.   Never change internet.....never change.

Barely got both 120 wins and Plat rank before the season ended.   Wonder how the new counter faries will be next month?

I suddenly thought about and then started humming this old video game track earlier (first spoiler) before remembering another from the same game (2nd) and trying to hum it.  Listening to the OST playlist later was quite a nostalgia trip..........I'll have to check if my PS1 still works at some point.  As much as I would like to emulate it, I need a controller for a game like this and I don't know how to make a controller wok on an older laptop.

After the long wait, I'm glad this turned out so well.  I might have not seen a high budget hollywood movie today, but this will  more than suffice.  Time to strap in and wait for the next one.........

If the 'Memories of Phantasm' Touhou fanime has great overall animation but can't animate a danmaku fight to save their life, MinusT's animations show how great animated danmaku fights can look with ok(?) character models (though I don't really know----these could be very high quality Blender models). 

Couldn't help but post this here since I've never really watched most? of The Avengers movies   and since I posted those screenshots here last night.  Sad that both of the Touhou mangas seem to be in their endgames (though only WAHH is confirmed to be ending).

The translation for the new 'Three Fairies of Light' manga is out!  Very quick work.  Time for my new(?) tradition of arbitrarily posting screenshots for now real reason.  Seems they really are going a bit more into expanding the lore of Hell in Touhou, in both manga.  Wonder if this will have any relevance when Touhou 17 actually comes out?  Time for another few month wait, either for the game, for new chapters of either Touhou manga., or for the new longer printwork to be translated.

But first, congrats to Daiyousei for maybe getting her very first speaking role after first appearing 16 years ago as a nameless midboss with no lines........if our assumption that is is actually her, since the word bubble does block her hair enough to call it into question slightly.

Seems this finally got subbed.......or maybe it was supped for months and I never looked for it.  Basically filler to transition from Stage to the EX Stage, still in the usual 'form over substance' most of the episodes have.  At least the fandub didn't have any noticeable issues, and Reisen had many great expressions.

Finished re-reading/catching up on Wild and Horned Hermit.  I'm sad that next chapter is supposedly the last, though as others have stated, it could be a two-parter like the last one.   Definitely a lot of Hell forshadowing (along with the last Three Faries of Light manga having a Hell-centered incident), so it's possible ZUN may actually be tying these to Touhou 17, which was mentioned to be about Hell.  He's done a lot of 'after the fact' timeline filling with the print works so far, but not that much the print works having a direct plot impact on a future game.

Since the translation of the latest Wild and Horned Hermit chapter release dropped a second Touhou bombshell for the western side of Twitter  I decided to re-read/catch up on the series so far.......mostly since it sounds like it's in the final arc now.  Halfway done now and trying to avoid more spoilers until I finish.

I love how Sanae got to show off her knowledgeable, adorkable-ness during the first half of the series.
