The same way people spend hundreds of dollars on Fire Emblem Heroes, or on Champions and skins in League of Legends.

Some people value their time more than they value their money. And if one likes the gameplay and the characters, it is natural to want to speed up progression, especially if you have the means to do so. Sure this may be an extreme case, but some people have a lot of money, and spending that much over the course of a few years may be a reasonable investment if you find it to be a fun game.

And rhythm games are fun. I've probably spent +50 dollars on song packs for Cytus and Deemo.

Well the main question is just what is it about Love Live that I'm not getting? Like, I see people making Honoka Shrines with plushies, expensive figures, and everything Honoka all in one place and what I'm thinking is "It's a cutesy anime about high school idols? What am I not getting... here?" It's kind of like what happened with Sailor Moon when that was first around, but back then I could understand why it was so popular. Love Live I just don't get. I'm not saying its bad because clearly its not, but I'd have to hear it from someone who's played the games and watched the anime to understand what makes it so appealing and make people spend a little too much money on characters for their mobile game. Just what is it about the series that makes people's heads explode?

People can grow attached to a thing for any number of reasons, and there are many ways to enjoy a product. 

Currently, there's a person donating 100$ to Ame's Patreon every month. Over 2½ years he too will spend the equivalent of 3000$ on Pokemon Reborn. Merely because he likes this silly little fanmade Pokemon game. Some people spend thousands on League of Legends, others on World of Warcraft. People get attached to things for deeply personal reasons. But to sum up, people get into things because they find them to be fun, rewarding and fulfilling. To some people those needs are fulfilled by Love Live. 

Is there a need to understand it on a deeper level?

The RROD was extremely prominent on launch Xbox 360's, mine was one that suffered from the... 54.2 percent failure rate. For the most part I strictly PC game and play PS3/PS4 exclusives. My loyalty to Microsoft was dwindled over the years, thanks to their cocky-overconfidence in their Xbone.

Oh, well basically 1080, 720 and 480 are basically just values meant to represent the width of a video's resolution. At higher resolutions the ability for one to distinguish quality begins to increase. The p, itself, stands for progressive scan, where all lines in a frame are captured at the same time.

But, for the most part, if you're a casual YouTube viewer you don't need to know what this means unless you want to have water-cooler talk and impress your friends with that bit of trivia

I'm glad they decided to do something with Gohan and make him strong, like he was back in the Buu Saga with his Potential Unlocked. I kind of like the current arc, but that has been some things that have kind of annoyed me, such as Frieza coming back... again. But, hey, his merchandising is pretty awesome tho!

Tbh, tho, the Resurrection F saga retelling was... bad. Really bad. Especially that animation. It was the worst the series ever had. At least the Universe 6 saga was all great! (except the Batomo fight, good. god.)

I had a difficult time believing that Frieza was as strong as he was.  And Goku Black's arc had a predictable play that involved waaaay too much back and forward time travel for my tastes.

i am digging this arc because we get to see characters who done get a ton of spotlight be awesome.

Frieza I could believe, because for a long time it was stated in the original manga that he was a mutant prodigy and was born with immense power, which I assumed wasn't so far-fetched when he trained for 6 months to assume his golden form. But, I can see where you might think it's a little ridiculous.

I liked the Goku Black arc for it's villains, their motivations and their god-damn personalities, because holy crap were they awesome. All of Goku Black's grandiose speeches... mmm... das good writing. But, yeah the back and forth time traveling... 3 times? Yeah, that did get annoying.

The current arc I like quite a bit, but I wasn't all too happy seeing a certain bald monk pushing back a Super Saiyan Blue's Kamehameha and Tien getting jobbed before he could attack Roshi. Other than that I can't wait for the actual tournament, and what they will do with Frieza returning.

@Busti For me I develop an irrational hatred for that person and then I say to myself "thanks for wasting 5 minutes of my life that I'll never get back, kindly die in a fire". I spare the rod in some instances, but with clickbait... no. Not at all. Especially on "journalism" websites that rely on it far too much.

@Dylanrockin  Just so you know, an extension isn't needed. Youtube has that feature innately. Pres the 3 dots next to a video, and say "not interested" and when asked why, say you don't want videos from that channel to show up anymore.

I wouldn;t say that. Fates and Awakening are both amazing games if I'm the one being asked. I prefer awakening but mainly because Lucina... favorite gaming princess of all time while I prever Fates for some gameplay elements and other characters. Again I love both games so you won;t hear me complain about either too much (only complaiment about fates would be that I kinda dislike how the story is really confusing)

I'd agree on Awakening's storyline being better.
if you are into having some form of uhm... "emotional relationship" to characters, Fates was superior for me, while Awakening was good at it already.

If we count Revelation as the main game of Fates, which we should cause it's the actual story, it got hurt a lot by being the last path (only minor things will still be new, burnout if you invested a lot of time into Birthright + Conquest, and honestly the map design felt very off sometimes).

Fates treated as one entity still is a wonderful journey. and a painful one.

The only issue with the story of fates was the biggest boon it had for itself, it being 3 games. It's still a really good game but the story's just kinda flop because the 3 parts. It doesn't help that Corrin has a really bland personality but eh, we have some characters to fix that.

There might be an ad blocker blocker blocker out there somewhere. It really surprises me that some news websites actually use those.

these sites use those because they would need to get some payment to keep it rolling, hence adds. I'm not thrilled about it but that's the way it is. and at least it's not as bad as the Crunchyroll app

Life is Strange is a strange game (no pun intended) and mainly plays like a telltale game. I haven't played it but I've seen a few let's plays of it and to relate it to tumblr wouldn't do it justice. granted I never use tumblr

It's pretty good, even if it does have some stereotypes. I wouldn't call it Tumblr anyways. Also "hella" and "wowzers" are very important in today's vocabulary.

The Xbox One's name was named that way because Microsoft were being a bunch of pretentious idiots and acting all cool by saying "This will be the console that this becomes one device that addresses all the entertainment that you want to enjoy on your TV."

The Wii and Wii U lose points for having an idiotic name that doesn't translate well to a Western audience, because yes, I do know why they named it the Wii. But most Americans are too stupid to read between the lines of what they were intending. The Xbox One loses points for having a naming convention that proves itself confusing and arrogant, made by pretentious developers trying to sound cool.

And to further run home the whole Xbox One thing... my personal rig is better than anything that console could ever offer, so no, you AREN'T going to be the "One" console for me. Fuck off Microsoft and fuck off with your stupid Kinect as well.

Bro-gamers are mostly the audience that buys that kind of console. Microsoft's thought process is: does it shoot and have wheels? No? Then we don't want it.

PS4 isn't even a factor in this, because at least they are consistent and has a naming convention that's simple and makes sense. It's not like Microsoft who's trying to be pretentious and acting intelligent when it's the most unsophisticated, and unrefined console I've ever had the displeasure of seeing.

I mean, I'll have to fire up the old teleporter, and that's never fun. That thing gives me nose bleeds and if I get turned into a fly again I don't know what I'd do. Plus I need to plan my own party about this time next year, and that's where things get complicated.
