  1. Feeling his thoughts start to run and blend together into an undiscernable whole, Radovan slaps the side of his head to try and snap back to reality, and force himself to start briskly walking towards the fountain, hoping that everyone else would have the sense to follow after him.
  2. Jun tries to see if she can't find a mobile phone or USB device to transfer the jetpack app to, before scouring the ground floor in search of anything interesting the others might have missed earlier, and choice hiding positions in case the lab's owner suddenly barges in.
  3. Junior seemed genuinely offended after hearing Alexandria's words, a bit of anger affecting his tone as he rapidly said, "An attack on West Berlin? When the Americans would have sold us a better bomb if we asked?, no," the table suffers a bit of abuse after he says this, his hand coming down with a hard thunk, "We are not terrorists like the NIJ or your PETA." He lets out a sigh as he slowly slides his hand off the table, leaving a very visible imprint of his knuckles behind, "And as bad as your American media made our flux state seem, it was a lot better than...this, we had nothing, but we were free, you Americans have nothing." He leaned back on his seat once more, and calmed himself down with a swig of something foul in a flask, "I don't know why the pig man calls himself Banondorf," he said, in a way that made it kind of obvious why.
  4. The knight rubbed his head a little at all the shouting, trying to beat back his headache for a moment longer, sounding a bit haggard when he finally spoke once more. "Miss, I know that you're really passionate about this, and I get where you're coming from, but could you quieten down a little? We can hear you just fine without the shouting, ow." Blinking slowly at the rest of the group, he slowly composed himself enough to shift his attention back to their 'host', although this time he spoke with a far less accusatory tone, even moving a little closer to one of the bowls. "Do you know why Dame Beaumont and I seem unable to recall details about our past? It's quite disturbing."
  5. Navin, Heidrun, Venus (12 v 19) the iron bound hero struggles with all his might to try and escape the medium meathook's grip! Struggling in vain it seemed as the chains kept him in their cold and clammy grip. Not that this stopped him from giving it one hell of a slap, sending it recoiling back for 20 points of damage, scraping of a lot of the rust on the metal, and causing some cracks to form on its surface, but unfortunately not shattering it. An odd tinge of pain and hatred makes it's way through Heidrun and Solomon's mind, as the mini meathook they were bound to soars through the air, and slashes away at Venus, dealing 10 piercing damage to the maestro. Another mini meathook sinks its hook into Solomon's right shoulder, cutting a nasty, and hopefully not tetanus infected gouge across it, and dealing 15 piercing damage to the Binda pool. Mini meathook 3 meanwhile, decides to help its far larger bretheren out by slashing away at Navin's armor once more, dealing only 7 damage this time, but it's all starting to add up... Mini meathook 4 settles on slashing away at Venus as well, dealing an uncomfortable amount of damage. 12. Blasting a smoke bomb at Mini Meathook 2, the puff of smoke deals a grand total of 27 damage to the spirit, a powerful blow, but not enough to knock it out of the park yet. Heidrun wrests control of her spell from Mini Meathook 1 easily enough, thankfully quieting it once more, and dealing a bit of damage with the backlash. Medium Meathook 2 tightens its grasp on the hero, dealing 23 damage with it's crushing grip!. The Giant hooker writhes and twitches on it's chain, before it breathes out a noxious gas at Navin's direction, suffusing them with a not entirely impotent rage as they writhe in the medium meathook's chains, one that corpse is trying to direct towards itself. (Navin deals 50% less damage if their next attack is against any target other than the Giant Hooker.) His focus turning towards you know, giving Navin a happy ending for his chain massage instead of a messy one, Solomon rapidly fires some very hefty iron tomes at the chains binding the hero, dealing a grand total of 20 damage! And shattering Medium Meathook 2 into pieces... The Giant Hooker prepares to block an incoming attack. (Basic Block) Status Initiative Solomon's Loadout
  6. "You won't have to," Lesya sighed out as Friedhold started to walk away, her two sons glancing at each other before Scrapper said, "And thank you for the leg," neither of them really wanting to wish you luck even after all you've done for them, not like you'd need something as fickle and ethereal as 'luck' on your side. Kyle does try to hand the little sister his coat though, it's about as clean as you'd expect, but it's a cold and rainy night, and the little sister at least looks like a young girl. Walking around to the other side of the tower didn't take all that long, the hard part was actually getting to the cell tower, he could see why the corp wanted to get the squatters out now, having a sprawling and loosely organized tent city around your property tended to lower it's value, even if they left a straight path to the gate. He gets the feeling that trying to get past it would draw a lot of questions though, mostly from 'well intentioned' types like Lesya, but then again, if he can cut a hole quickly enough, they probably won't try to follow him in. Past the gate though, there's just a paved road, two squat red painted boxy buildings placed right next to each other, and the very tall metal tower that gives the surrounding area their matrix access. You assume that the building with windows and a door at the back is where the controls are, at least, the ones that don't require you to climb that thing, you're not sure what the other building is, the side you can see from this distance is just a wall. It doesn't seem like anyone is actively patrolling the grounds right now from what you can see, and well, while there were probably cameras on the buildings, and the lamp posts lighting the path ahead, it's kind of hard to get a detailed read on what security measures you'd actually be facing, when all you have to go on is what you can see from a couple hundred meters away, and what a bunch of hoboes were willing to tell you.
  7. Dr. Ishi gave Zoe a bit of a dirty look once she slinked back to the group, possibly, it's kind of hard to tell what with the mask and all, there was definitely some palpable disdain in her voice when she said, "That blast should have been too small to create a stable source of harmful radiation, but if you really want to check, I'll need a radio you don't mind me taking apart, or some other electronic device, but I think checking would be a waste of time."
  8. "It is adequate, a bit of static for your handlers to cut through if they intend to pry on our conversation, a difficult task, but not an impossible one," he said, while taking a seat near the back of the container, seemingly as another gesture of his trust, if either of you wanted to walk away, the door would be right behind you, not like that's something that matters much when you have Alexandria with you though. Fancy as the shipping container is, she's pretty sure that she could just reach out and snap its metal walls like a twig, a dry twig, green ones can be surprisingly tough. Having watched the man's movements and actions for a while, Liliya gets the feeling that he's been purposefully slowing himself down, which explains why he made a show of slowly resting his 'immense weight' down on the chair earlier. She doesn't see him doing anything particularly threatening in the near future yet though."So! What blatant lies have your American handlers told you about our cause?," the cyborg asked with an almost jovial tone, as he leaned back against his chair.
  9. He shifted slightly in bed, and slowly rose up to seat himself at it's edge, causing the blanket to slowly fall away and reveal the ornately decorated armor he was wearing. 'What am I wearing to bed?' he thought, while he ran his hand across the cool surface, and rapped his knuckles on it. The sounds made by the thin metal distracting him a little from the questions his mind was asking and failing to answer, until he heard someone clap their hands together, and turned his attention their way. For a brief moment before his eyes started to wander around the room he was in, allowing him to take in the...state the room was in, the dried blood painted on the floors, the shifty nature of the person speaking to them, and see it all combine to paint a dark and strangely familiar picture of 'Rein' recent activities. "A destiny?," he asked, craning his head slightly to try and look inside of their hood, "Forgive me for being so blunt, but why should we trust anything you've said? After all, I don't recall being invited to sleep in your...barracks, and yet I am here."
  10. Seeing the tide of battle quickly turn against the enemy, Atton attempts to rally his troops for another big push, singling out Perlita and Iowa as the really big pushers. Atton uses Forward March on Iowa and Perlita, increasing their initiative by his Inteligence/2.
  11. "My boys have already told you more than they should have," said Lesya, with that stern, and slightly disappointed voice that only a mother could use, while Scrapper raised an eyebrow at Friedhold, starting to lean against his previously bad leg a little. "Huh, you know, you have surprisingly kind powers for someone who's going to destroy the only home we have," the man noted, after noticing that Kyle was breathing a little easier now. Leading you through the long maze of shipping containers blocking the way to the entrance, Junior suddenly darts to the left, walking under the shade of a very haphazardly placed shipping container, rapping his knuckles on the locked doors of another container instead of advancing. He waits there for a couple of moments, before the door swings itself open, revealing a small and not very well lit room beyond, with a faux wooden table, and just enough seating for three people, or in this case, two, as the metal would presumably bend out of shape within moments if a certain someone tried to take a seat. The cyborg gestures for the two of you to enter just as the room fills up with a slightly annoying droning sound that quickly fades into the background, presumably a white noise machine turning itself on, judging by how Alexandria could still hear it, until she chose not to of course.
  12. If he had the time, or a more philosophical bent Radovan might have gazed out into the ruins embedded deep in the sea, and pondered them at length, comparing what his eyes have beholded with the words Omega and Alpha had spoken to him earlier to derive some deeper meaning from all this. But unfortunately, we're still talking about Radovan here, and he did not have the time to think anything deeper than, 'Oh, so this is what the Gyarados destroyed?,' before he put his Sableye back into it's ball, and quickly turned to leave. "Maybe we can ask Uno what the ruins under the sea used to be, but right now we need to get going so uh, let's try and find the key to that gate or something!," he set off towards the gate Sena mentioned, hoping to get all of this dealt with as quickly as possible, saving a Nexus's bound to get him a medal or something right?. Start heading towards point 3 after getting Sableye back.
  13. Navin, Venus, Solomon, Heidrun After rearing back a little to prepare himself, the superhero lunged forward with his knife hand, hoping to finish the last remaining medium hook with one powerful blow! Dealing 32 damage, the explosion leaving a noticeable dent in the solid all American steel, sending it flying back in a shower of rusty flecks, leaving it wounded, but still in the fight. (Heidrun might want to get checked for Tetanus later) The miniature meathooks soar throughout the air once more, their sharp points seeking out their marks with relative ease in the crowded battlefield. Miniature meathook 1 and 2 winked at each other as they soared through the air, and sunk their points into Navin's armor, dealing a grand total of 20 slashing damage to the pool. Miniature meathook 3 and 4 went for an entirely different target, Heidrun's fear and rapid movements causing them to seek her out, and land hook first to deal 19 damage to the pool. Venus hucks a bomb at the giant hooker, causing it to latch onto the dangling corpse, who seems nonplussed by this recent development. Leaping behind a conveniently placed crate, Heidrun could only stare in slight shock as it is suddenly thrown towards the corpse, pulled by an unwieldy metal hook that manifested tip first inside of it. Medium Meathook 2 drops back down from the darkness, and wraps its long and sturdy cabling around Navin's body! (21 v 16), holding onto him very tightly as he feels his strength...faltering a little, as it metaphorically sinks its teeth in to suck him dry, and literally starts trying to crush him like a grape. (Free action Strength save each round to break out, -30% damage dealt until he does) Giant Hooker 1 sends out a pulse of dark magic down Medium Meathook 2's length, causing Navin a cold chill to run down his spine as his connection to the two mages waxes and wanes. Heidrun's magic ripped from the hero and forcably shoved into Mini Meathook 1. (Binda Syphoned over to Mini Meathook 1) Hoping to take the bite off of the Giant hooker's attacks, Solomon gets the genius galaxy brain idea to pelt more curses at the giant sapient wad of dark magic and hatred of all living things, surprisingly enough this works, and he consults his bound book of curses to think of more ways to insult and belittle the beast...while also trying to avoid getting his own feelings hurt too much. (Solomon uses Running Mockumentary on the Giant Hooker, reducing it's damage by the difference between his intelligence stat +3 and theirs, also spending two tokens to halve the beast's effective Intelligence for this, and using his bound book of curses to double it's effect in exchange for inflicting the normal debuff on himself.) The Giant Hooker turns towards Miniature Meathook 2 and lets out a low growl, causing it to glow with an eery light... Status Initiative Solomon's Loadout Liliya, Alexandria Continuing his march towards the warehouse, Junior didn't even turn to glance in Liliya's direction when he said, "Of course, while I am not the only one you will need to convince, I can assure you that this meeting will be a private one...unless you try anything."
  14. Loadout Revving up his motorcycle's engines, Mot performs an array of stunts to try and remain close to the goddess of disaster, his trained hand ready to quickly shoot any spirit or man that attempts to close in and harm her. Mortality on Mitsu, Dealing Weapon Damage (5d10+12)+5% (Patience Stack, Edge of Death Perk) to the next two enemies that uses a melee attack on her.
  15. "Maybe we can see eye to eye after all Alexandria," Junior said in response, possibly in approval, he still had that inscrutinable 'tough guy' expression on his face that would be more objectionable on a less....hardened criminal. Liliya meanwhile, would hear a slight sigh of relief coming from the bar's patrons after the three of them finally walked out, along with a bit of grumbling here and there from the wannabe tough guys. It was good that you managed to resolve this semi peacefully, it's hard to think any of the patrons was an actual threat after what you've been through, especially with Alexandria walking about beside you, but starting a three way bar fight probably isn't the best way to run an investigation...or keep your cover from being blown any further. The cyborg seemed to be content to move with a sedate and unhurried pace, and Alexandria wasn't exactly the hare to his turtle, so it took the two of you a bit to realize that his idea of a 'private place' where no one could overhear your conversation was, the warehouse you're supposed to be infiltrating later, at least that's where he seemed to be heading anyway....
  16. Navin, Venus, Solomon, Heidrun The superhero reacts quickly, wading into the front lines, and brushing past all of the weaker meathooks to shatter a medium meathook into pieces with (74) damage! Casting the spirit inhabiting it flying away to places unknown. The four miniature meathooks perform their grim work, seeming to dance through the air as they sought their mark.... Miniature Meathook 1 stabs into Heidrun's flesh, dealing 8 slashing damage to her before flying off once more. Miniature Meathook 2 makes one long slice on Venus's right sleeve, dealing 7 slashing damage. Navin's armor quickly proves its worth as Miniature Meathook 3 and 4 sail through the air and land on his shoulders, impacting with a surprising amount of force, but thankfully not penetrating too deeply, dealing a total of 14 slashing damage. Ignoring the hook that tried to ruin his performance, Venus blasts his load all over Miniature Meathook 4, dealing 27 damage, and sending it flying away into the rafters for a while, the spirit deterred for now, but not beaten. Heidrun works her strange magic over Navin and Solomon, the pain she and Navin felt spreading a little throughout the three, tempered mainly by Navin's desire to seek justice.. The remaining medium sized meathook swoops in to try and bind Navin in its high tensile metal rope (12 v 14), the brave hero thankfully managing to wriggle his way out. The Giant Hooker's twitches and shudders on its hooks, the bound corpse's growling and retching causing Miniature Meathook 1 to glow with an eery light... Glancing at the rotting corpse with a look of disgust on his face Solomon summons up a mound of books, and hurtles them towards the giant hooker, conveniently blocking it from view, and applying 8 Slalom Stacks to the spirit!. The Giant Hooker suddenly stops twitching for a moment, completely silent as it turned its milky eyes over to Heidrun, sending shivers throughout her body as tendrils of magical energy seeks her out. She gets the feeling that whatever it's about to do, it's going to hurt, unless she tries her hardest to avoid being found.. (Heidrun can either spend her turn avoiding the attack, or take pretty decent damage) Initiative Status Solomon's Loadout
  17. Kyle turned to look at Lesya again for a moment, seemingly unsure of what to say next, before Scrapper pipes up to say, "I don't think we should tell him that," causing Lesya to nod at him as he continued with, "Look, the tower's owned by UCAS Online, and the prick who runs it never liked the camp to begin with, but as long as we stick to city property he can't do anything except grumble and file another complaint, or get some rent a cops to kick us round." "But if something happens to the tower...," Kyle added, allowing Scrapper to agree with, "Yeah, if something happens well, suddenly he can kick this up to corporate, and when they start looking for answers well, he's got one already." He stopped talking for a moment, giving Lesya enough time to slide in with, "You would be chasing everyone in this camp out of the one home we can hold onto, and for what? Maybe half an hour of silence before they reroute a satellite here, if the rent-a-cops working there don't shoot you first." "Yeah...place barely has any security but, we don't mess with them for a reason," the youngest said, before the others stopped saying much of anything at all.
  18. The Austrian scans Alexandria's face one last time, perhaps hoping to find any hint of dishonesty, before he casts a glance at Liliya, and moves towards the exit, with that slow and steady walk of his. For a brief moment it seemed as if he was simply attempting to escape once more, but a brief glimpse of the future tells Liliya all she needs to know for now. In the next 5 seconds he will beckon the two of them to follow with his right hand, and he will say, "Ha! Worrying about righteousness, Americans can be so quaint.." While Scrapper moves his hand up to stare and poke at it a little, Kyle glances at Lesya's direction for a bit, before he breaks the silence with, "Not much to tell, I can give you some basic info on where the doors are, and what's stopping you from just walking in, but...none of us have been inside." As soon as he finished speaking, Lesya added, "And for good reason."
  19. Loadout Atton uses naught but a flesh wound on Gabriel and Bridgett to heal them by 1d4+Int.
  20. (21 v 10) Junior scans Alexandria's face once more, trying and failing to find a tell, or a flaw that could clue him into her 'true' intentions, seemingly a bit surprised to find none. A tense moment of silence passes as he considers what to do next, before the man finally lets out a sigh and says "Then suppose that I happen to know where this 'soul eating bioweapon' might be kept, and what you are saying is true, because you certainly believe it is." Alexandria would notice that the man seemed a little less defensive now, far more open to talking this out instead of just..casually busting a hole in the roof or something. "What if I tell you that, as distasteful as it may sound, it is being prepared for a good, if desperate cause."
  21. Solomon, Heidrun, Navin, Venus. Impact Point Warehouse The woman still looked a bit unsure as Heidrun and Navin approached the hatch, opening and closing her mouth a bit at the two as she shivered in the dark tunnel, seemingly trying to say something, in a weak and barely audible voice. Her whispers going unheard until Heidrun and Navin shift just close enough to reach their hands out into that dark and forbidding hole, and finally hear the woman weakly whisper "Nno, help yourselves," shifting a little as the light reveals more of her wounded form. (26 v 15) Sensing a faint glimmer of movement at the corner of his eye, Navin quickly pushes himself and Heidrun away from the hatch! Just before they heard a piercing scream coming from the tunnel, and saw a long hook covered in blood and grime blast past where the two of them were standing, and retreats back into the tunnel with a scraping sound. This seems to awaken something in the warehouse, the meathooks starting to shift and twitch in place, while the sole body on the hook bloats and deform, the sound of hooks lazily clashing against each other slowly joined by the sound of snapping bones to lay down an unsettling beat, before the body on the hook lazily opens its clouded eyes, and lets out a low growl... (32 v 18, Goddamn, what is with these natural 20s) It wouldn't have taken a genius to figure out what was going on by this point, but for all intents and purposes, Heidrun was that genius right now. This place was missing something, it was dead, the whole place, the whole building was this one massive nexus of death and despair that ate away at the surrounding life force, burning it to sustain and empower itself. Now she wasn't sure if that bloated corpse was causing this to happen, or if it was simply a wandering thing attracted to its power, and she didn't know enough about this world to know why the nexus formed in the first place (Although she might have had some educated guesses), but she's preeetty sure that big bad bloated corpse man with an extended skull wasn't growling its way into existence to serve them hordeurves. 22. Atton musters up the troops with a good old prayer for their continued success and good health, before pointing out the obvious, that Perlita and Bridgett's efforts for healing the troops and clearing the mass would be very appreciated. Atton uses Battle Plans on Perlita and Bridgett to reduce a chosen action's cooldown by 1 round and increase a chosen stat by his Level for two rounds!.
  23. Navin, Heidrun Solomon rolls his eyes at Navin after hearing the man's proclamation, but...decides not to comment any further, after realizing just what happens to people who complain about something being too creepy, before running off by themselves in horror stories. Instead simply choosing to keep his light trained on the dead body...just to make sure that it wasn't going to try anything, it still gave him the creeps after all. Navin for his part, managed to tear the hatch open easily enough, finding the rusty locking mechanism to be unable to overcome his raw unbridled musclepower, swinging it open to allow Heidrun's light to illuminate...the sobbing face of a young Asian woman, stuck inside of a tunnel that seems far too small for her to be comfortable. She flinches away from the light a little, seemingly not sure if her hiding place being discovered is a good, or bad thing. Friedhold (28 v 22) "Well that's just..." Kyle said in response, seemingly a bit uncomfortable with what you were proposing, and Scrapper seemed to be on the verge of yelling at you again, when Lesya interjected with, "Then we have nothing to talk about, feel free to share the fire with us, but we cannot help you," with a commanding tone of voice you wouldn't expect from the nice old lady from before.. "Uhh, yeah, what she said," Scrapper added, after having the wind taken out of his sails by his mother there. Alexandria, Liliya (15 v 21, 24 v 15) Junior stared deeply at Alexandria's face for a moment, trying to find a tell, something in the android's body language or expression that revealed a deception, or an attempt at misleading him, only to find none. "What do you know about this 'bioweapon' then?," he said, suddenly a lot more open to hearing her out than before, to the collective relief of most of the room presumably.
  24. Loadout Revving his motorcycle's engines as the rest slowly stride into the inn, Mot guns it as soon as he hears the sound of music, crashing into the scene, his cycle flying in the air for a moment as he opened fire on the biggest guy in the room, just like he did all those years ago....except that was a salloon, he was on a horse, and he is pretty sure that he was fighting normal bandits back then. Mot uses Ten Men Dead on the Black Imp, dealing Weapon Damage (5d10+12)+Initiative (21) damage!.
