  1. So, I think Evergreen Cave [North] is not working as it's intended based on what I found. If you take the two paths that include deepseatooth and deepseascale, you get taken down to the part of map 491 with water... which... I think the point is that part only becomes accessible after you do the strength puzzle thing. So, Feebas is fishable before strength, which I would guess is not the intended solution.
  2. I've never seen that one, but I'll take your word for it for now, thanks. Once my calc IV midterm is over I can run debug tests to see everything that trade has to verify.
  3. That last paragraph is a good way to look at it, I feel. At the end of the day it's just a game -- if you like it, then awesome, enjoy playing it. If not, that's ok, try to return it. Not every game is always going to satisfy everyone's tastes for sure. But for me, one more month of the pre-download on my switch taunting me uwu
  4. I mean... I'm not saying your emotions about this aren't real, because it certainly sounds like they are. I just don't see it as "betraying a fanbase" when a character isn't included, regardless of how much Sakurai or anyone has stated in the past that it could be a good idea. Smash sort of sits in this weird zone where as far as a sequel to four previous games go, this one looks like it's going to be significantly better, include tons and tons of QOL changes that fans have been requesting for a long time, and yet, it's playable characters not getting in that leads people to feel these emotions. I mean, it makes sense -- a character getting into the group of playable characters is a cool thing for sure -- the developers signifying that they believe that that character belongs. But, much as a character getting an Assist Trophy slot may remove it from that group, like, that's still super cool that it's getting represented anyways! As long as Assist Trophies, Pokeballs, Spirits etc. there will be characters that need to fill those spots. While the playable characters do matter MORE, especially to the competitive experience which doesn't use those other things much, they are still part of the games expansive lineup of features celebrating the histories of Nintendo and gaming as a whole. I'm sad, too, that Skull Kid got the assist trophy slot for example. But, I look at the fact that they brought back every single character from all past games and are clearly listening to the fans, and I find that there can be peace in those characters not getting the playable spotlight quite yet.

    Choice Scarf

Nah, not yet. I do know where it will be assuming its current position is not changed, but, can't access it in E18.
  6. If Reborn is California, then Simon and Tara are from Alabama. Roll tide?
  7. I'll throw in 3 that I find reliable, why not Kricketune -- the early game got. With Fury Cutter and Technician, it utterly blows through Julia and Florinia in a point of the game where you don't really have lots of competent mons. Plus, it learning Perish Song at 50 plus a sash means a low effort way to deal with the uber hard story bosses, so that's nice. It obviously loses its worth pretty quick, but while it's usable, it's great. Krookodile -- there's not too much to say about this guy that hasn't been said by others before - but it's simple. Competitively he is certainly slow and not always reliable with legendary threats but in game? Moxie plus a natural level up pool including Crunch, Earthquake, and Outrage (and Rock moves by other methods)? Just so useful, slugs hard for as long as you need it to slug hard in game. Could be an interesting factor in the endgame once we can buy scarves. Escavalier -- by its typing, it's instantly useful for all three gyms it can fight to some extent - Ice, Normal, Psychic. After you get Trick Room is where this thing begins to shine -- it's immense attack stat under an amplified trick room means it can shred through opponents, especially with a doubles partner with a comparable moveset to match. A great mid-game titan under trick room.
  8. I looked him up on Rate My Professor, to no avail... Interesting that a name that we think is so iconic may not be unique, after all.
  9. Nah, not yet. You can get X-Zard though, without starting over file even because you can get Charmander by Fishing @ the top of the Pyrous Mountain.
  10. Posted this on supporters discord but here's my definitive legendary best-worst tier list, all other opinions are wrong

  11. Something some of the more observant people in the beta noticed was that the four keys, as described by Solaris in the Arc, are not only held by, but are very representative of the four (five, in some form) we'll be facing. The ruby, the seal of pain, goes to Heather, who lived through her father's suicide with or without finding out his ties to Team Meteor, and was tortured by ECT right afterwards. The sapphire, the seal of love, goes to Laura/Bennett, who, as we saw in the ending of E18, will likely have some sort of romantic relationship via the dialogue we saw. As an aside this also means that the family of Charlotte, Laura, Saphira will merge with the conglomerate family of Radomus, Luna, Serra, Bennett, Noel, Anna, Elias?? which is sorta neat. The emerald, seal of faith, goes to Elias/El. His faith is structured in how his eyesight was restored by Arceus, similarly, his bloodborne oath to Solaris' family is a form of faith that drives him to his goals. The amethyst, seal of the beyond, of course, goes to Anna. Though we don't have a full picture of what Nostra... is, Anna is shown to be someone who sees beyond the surface layer of people and has connections to events beyond what we can see upfront.
  12. In my experience as a player, something like regular store items like Revives or Hyper Potions even can be nice, but it could get somewhat old fast, and plus, what's the point of buying that kinda stuff then if you have the items already, or tons of cash? Special (apricorn e.g.) balls can be nice too, though, if you already have one route done, it would just allow you the ability to keep going for the reward of more balls which is... not conducive to exciting a player in the long run, unless something bigger is teased somehow. Then, if single-use items are not considered, the best thing would be consumables. Depending on how you want to do your game, TM's might be a way to go, especially some of the more wacky ones like Ally Switch, Quash, Infestation even. Though, I wouldn't put anything really good, since it would discourage multiple playthroughs from someone, say, playing the game for a different team + battle experience that would therefore benefit from lots of TM coverage yet would not want to re-collect every available species on a route. Perhaps some other kind of collectible would be nice in their place, then, such as perhaps legendary items (Silvally Memories, Arceus plates, maybe?), the type boosters (SilverPowder, TwistedSpoon, Black Belt, etc) or something else you've thought of uniquely for your fan-game, such as exclusive boosting hold items (Thick Club, Light Ball, e.g.), maybe for the most rare mons on the route? These are just things I could think of that would make someone want to collect all the species in a route beyond just the benefits inherent with, well, having all the mons from the route. Hopefully this little ramble helped, even just a bit?
  13. If you have 6th gen icons somewhere, make sure they're in the same dimensions as the ones in Reborn now, and make sure they have the same filenames in the same pattern, then paste them in graphics -> icons over the old ones. Make a backup before to be safe, YMMV
  14. Just so you know, there is one available later in E18 content, if you're content with playing further.
  15. It's not getting updated for gen 8, guys, and E19 is the final episode. ... I'm a terrible information guide since I don't have sources, but she's said these things multiple times. Yeah, like Chameleon said, modders can choose to add gen 8 content if they want.
  16. more like 19 dragon gym, elite 4 champion, postgame and legendaries :^)
  17. I mean... the weaknesses to stealth rock and water and rock types in general are EVERYTHING in terms of it's usage. I would say, remember that tiers are not objectively "who's best" but it's about "how much % of people are using it" in each tier, so for RU, it just means people choose other things over it in OU and UU. Aaaaanyways, reliably I would go Volt Switch/Thunderbolt, Overheat, Will-O-Wisp, and... last move is variable. Hex works ok, apparently I just found out it gets Defog, or maybe a Hidden Power. Will-O-Wisp in particular would be good for breaking down an opponent's heavy offense (like Solaris).
  18. I see you have 3 posts on this forum, so my two cents from using reddit for too many hours per day for the last 4 years: A good rule of thumb for advertising your playthrough is 10 pieces of otherwise contributory content per 1 content advertising a playthrough so... if you get to know the community via other topics and discussions, you'll not only inherently fit into this rule, but maybe get people interested in the content in the first place! Again, NOT an official rule, but something I recommend to not only get a better audience but make the community welcome you rather than shun, if that makes sense?
  19. Everyone knows where this is except you mate
  20. Another list, this time of Silvally Memories. Here's what we didn't find in Beta:
  21. Interesting, As Ame said, Poipole/Naganadel wasn't in beta. Updated OP for the last time.
