I remember Hugh beating me that fight too! The same exact way even, with coil + leaf blade. Dewgong wasn't too bad for me once it got ice beam actually, in fact it saved me several times. I wanted cloyster instead for sure but couldn't find him.I still have Basculin on active duty haha, he was plenty useful in PWT Unova cup and a big help against elesa(who you do NOT want to ever draw).

Trump winning is like the ultimate downer ending. Zero good will come out of it and it'll make Bush era look like the golden years Real talk: people who want Trump to win presidency are either shortsighted fools or filthy bigots. And TBH I don't think he'll win presidency nor deserves to for multiple reasons, for one because he'll run into a similar problem(among others) Romney had: only whites(generally speaking, of course there's nonwhites as well but much fewer in comparison) are really interested in voting him(appealing to racist white grandparents won't win you presidencies anymore) and he's turning off way too many non-whites, particularity Latinos(Mexicans especially HATE this dude, and for good reason lol) and Blacks(mainly due to his disgusting supporters) which are becoming more crucial demographics in elections with each passing year. White voters are so split usually that getting a big majority is tough and simply not reliable enough to guarantee a win, something Republicans realize more and more but utterly fail to grasp how to do. They know Trump isn't the way to do this though which is another reason why they're so against him being the pres candidate,as it only further alienates these demographics in future elections, since you'll suffer the (continued)stigma of being a party for regressive white bigots. And Lol @ silent majority. There's a very particular group of people who call themselves that and let's be real, they fit EXACTLY into the point I'm talking about.

Don't underestimate the monkeys. They have a decent movepool, are pretty quick and simipour is probably the best of the 3 due to scald. While they aren't top tier late game early and mid-game they can be pretty solid, well once evolved. I guess that's the hard part lol.

Poison is legit one of the best types in Reborn. It can take advantage of a lot of fields, gets a great selection of pokemon(toxicspikes before the first gym? yes please) and is one of the few types to get a really good TM. I did a poison/electric run before and poison was killer.

I suppose using exp share in Kalos does make it easier but FTR I didn't use it in Blue and compared to not using it in Kalos, yeah it's definitely easier. Really post Surge the game eases up a lot more, the only more difficult thing is item management and dungeon design mainly due to RPG design quirks of that era.You still have trainers regularly using level 27-29 pokemon by the 7th badge, something that stops when you reach Clemont in X/Y. Thing is while RBY has big level gaps in the E4 later gym leaders, their movesets and AI are generally too poor to take advantage of it. Even the one hit KO moves are found on typically slow pokemon and thus will rarely hit you if ever.

-Picking bulbasaur(thanks Reborn Chat ). While Blastoise is really the only impressive starter due to better TM use compared to the other two, the line is pretty underwhelming throughout the game and takes way too long to get good, being easily outclassed by Bellsprout who you can get early on. While toxic/leech seed is a nice combo, vine whip for like 25 levels straight up sucks and Venusaur is stuck with razor leaf as his best move the entire main game and a pretty lukewarm TM learnset. I can see why bulbasaur was the least popular starter back in the day now. Shame since I actually like him in Reborn although he's still unlikely to win MVP(I even named mine Fern but top dog he was not lol). -Thinking karate chop was a fighting move. It wasn't for some stupid reason. -Not picking up fly or exp share. Oddly enough I didn't need any flying pokemon over the adventure as my coverage was good enough. -Trying to raise Vulpix from level 15. My god he is BAD. You're better off waiting until Cinnabar and catching it when it's only 3 levels from flamethrower and thus of actual use. -Teaching Moltres fireblast and sky attack. I thought Moltres would be good against the E4... -Forgetting Fire doesn't resist ice. This makes the first E4 fight the hardest IMO out of the whole endgame, even Blue is easier(he's not that hard actually). Jynx one shotted Moltres in its big debut battle because of this,and thus became the biggest flopper in my entire run. -Not using some of my TMs. Gen 1 encourages you to use TMs or else they will eat up all your pack space. But honestly,mt Moon aside, this is probably the easiest main game in the series. The AI's builds are so bad that 10-12 level differences hardly matter. I will tell you what I DON'T regret though: spending like 20 minutes looking for a Clefairy. She was so worth it.

The last playthrough I finished was a water run in White 2 actually, I'm at post game right now doing PWT. The regional leaders are kicking my butt though lol. TBH Oshawott(or rather Samurott) I ended up boxing because he wasn't hitting as hard as I had liked. I'd recommend Basculin as he's quite fast, has aqua jet, can learn final gambit which is MAD useful for softening up otherwise difficult opponents, and adaptibility + any attack boosting item lets him hit quite hard, harder than Samurott IMO. He's very underrated and after my water run I gained a newfound respect for him. Azumarill is a great member, granted it's speed hurts it later on but I still use mine regularly. I suggest getting Starmie or Cloyster when you can. Both are fantastic pokemon. Vaporeon is really good too,as is Jellicent, but Vaporeon is a bit limited offensively. She can last a long time though, as can Jellicent who is also one of the few natural status inflicters you have access to. Swanna is useful for flying and grass/bug types as well as rain dance but it's not going to be your best. It's decent support.at least.

That Porygon Z though. Noel can be not that bad if you have the right tools to take advantage of his field, but can be madly annoying if your team is full of fatties and/or frail squishsacks that fall victim to flinch slapping and malware downloads.

Reborn goes for an anime-based aesthetic which = anime hair. It's not so much European features as it is anime-inspired style choice. Besides straight hair isn't necessarily European, if anything more east Asians have straight hair compared to europeans which have higher frequencies of wavy/curly in comparison. Though I get what you mean anyway, in that you want more afro-based hair styles.

Traditonal evos >>>>>> Megas for sure. Megas should be reserved for already complete feeling pokemon that need a competitive boost. Single stages and 2 stagers have no reason as to why they should get an mega over a proper evolution. Carnivine for sure. Maractus is another one. Dunsparce, Torkoal, Tropious, Heatmor, delibird, Stantler, Durant, Chatot, Cherrim, Lumineon, Hawlucha, Grumpig, Basculin, Rapidash, Zebstrika and Swoobat. All these guys could use evos.

Surge's gym isn't even a puzzle, it's just a silly guessing game. It's just designed to waste time and I hate it. Wallace's puzzle is probably the hardest, yeah.

And now fire is finally up! It's pretty sick looking,and water looks to be next, followed probably by electric or grass. Though this messes with the order somewhat since steel wouldn't be followed by a weakness unless electric isn't going to be followed by ground.

Cherry blossom trees would be a nice way to break the usual green foliage that pops up a lot.Or autumn gold ones too. Rejuvenaton was good with this.
