  1. Machop yeah. Not machamp. I thought Machoke had one too but I guess not. huh.
  2. I love that Glameow turns into a snobby fat bastard. Purugly is cool and has a lot of personality in its design, moreso than Delcatty despite beingnot as cute. And complaining about too many cats is like saying they're too many early rodents or birds, It's an archetype we get every gen. There's no pokemon I'd totally want removed as even if I don't like them, I can respect whatever they bring to the franchise. Actually no. Meganetric would be one, for having THE worst mega design, not being a regular evolution, and generally ruining any chance of me liking this line.
  3. Nations match is about to start within the next hour...Gaia needs a comeback, so a win would be reeeeal nice.

  4. Gen 3 had this the worst I think. Chimecho completely puzzled me when I first saw it. I thought, okay, it's a ghost type, that somehow looks like Jumpluff kind of so it's a branch evo of skiploom? Like the chime being a weird halo as if skiploom died and became a saint or something. Once I knew it was pure psychic while looking through a guide I figured it couldn't have been a skiploom evo and thought the chime was supposed to be a light bulb making chimecho some kind of inspired scholar. It fits the typing after all. Then in gen 4 I caught chingling and it evolved into chimecho which threw me for a loop, though it became clear it was supposed to be a bell thing of some sort. The pun on its name was lost on me for years since I always pronounced its name, Chyme-cho, not Chyme-eh-ko. It was some pokedex thing from one of the spin off games where the dex would speak the pokemon's name did it all finally come together.
  5. smh @ the magnezone confusion. He looks insanely derpy the way some of you interpreted him as. The aron mouth thing is mindblowing though. Here's a classic one : I initially thought the pattern spots on its forehead were it's actual eyes, with the black part being an open mouth and the true eyes its teeth. This made for a pretty derpy and odd looking pokemon and it wasn't until playing Colosseum did I realize he actually looked pretty cool. I also thought anorith's pincers were its mandibles for the longest. The actual mouth is one its stomach and that made it look a lot cuter. I didn't realize Bisharp had a mouth until his sugimori artwork was released. Also this one is going to seem really dumb, but I didn't figure out Masquerain's antennae were meant to be fake eyes giving it a resemblance to a ballroom mask, hence it's name. I just thought they were wings with a random pattern on them. I mean it's not like surskit really had a ballroom or mask theme to it, so it came out of nowhere, though I suppose you can say its ability to skirt on water resembles dancing somewhat. I didn't notice Latios/Latias were supposed to resemble jets until ORAS and their megas. Looking at them from above in the dex makes it pretty obvious, but the psychic typing feels totally jammed in even now. I tend to forget machomp and Machoke have tails. Probably because it's such an unnecessary part of their design. and of course, Metapod.
  6. Ya'll been smoking too much grass, as you must be high as the sky to even think you stand a fighting chance of beating us.
  7. How did this work out for ya guys? Teeheehee. But no really, you guys put up a good fight and I wish you the best of luck against Atlantis. I'd say GaiaxRavenholts was the closest matchup, whereas amazon and Atlantis kind of got whooped(don't tell them I said that), which tells us how dangerous Vulcan and Avalon are. Gaia has nothing but respect for the Ravenholt clan, and know we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
  8. Let me just say, I'm so proud of you guys. That 4-2 in bright yellow brought a smile to my face and ahhhh man, you guys kicked ass. The ravenholts made us an offer we could not refuse, that offer being their pokemon's beaten carcasses served over a hot steaming plate of well earned victory. Good job team. I believe it's my turn this week to help reclaim the earth. UU is the tier? I'm totally cool with that.
  9. This is really difficult to answer for me now. Once upon a time it was Feraligtr, another it was Scrafty, Infernape as welll...but as I grow as a player my preferences change alongside with it. I gotta say, Infernape never lets me down, but you know what? I gotta hand some love to the OG fairy pokemon. Admittedly I used to think Clefable was meh. Unimpressive stats, unimpressive design, and the show soured me on the line a bit by making clefairy look like Jiggly's bitch that one episode where they had a slap fight. It wasn't until gen 4 where some dude I played online used a cosmic powered Clefable that wall'd and wrecked my team with zero effort that I started to gain respect for her. Then she got the typing she was always meant for in gen 6, which made m think, hmmm you know I'll try her out. Reborn really was the first time I used Clefable seriously, especially after Noel became rather infamous for his. And what can I say? To put it in perspective, Clefable played a part in the first time I beat Garchomp/Arceus in Reborn, and man did it feel good. She could become tough as nails, last a very long time in battle and whittle her opponents down even surely if slowly. I had a newfound respect for her at this point, but she also kind of influenced my preference for lasting power and bulk later on. Then somewhere along the way I decided to start playing showdown...just about every upper tier team I've used has had Clefable in it and she always manages to impress. Those who let her set up often regret it and she laughs in the face of hazards and poison/burn as magic guard ignores that. I even used her in Blue version and she was one of my best pokemon, having great early game versatility as clefairy and breaking gym battles with minimize. Lance got owned by her lol. Personality we're kind of similar too. Shy, don't go out much, but also adaptable and happy to help others.
  10. Bunny earsfor all. Hmm I notice on the right side of the pokeball earths it's a little warped and blurry, if those were fixed it'd be perfect, especially the first one. And wow we are a rabbit nation.
  11. Who let this pigeon onto our holy ground? Flock off, fowl heathen.
  12. Didn't know until after I posted that. Anyway we're 1-1so far, Pblood wrecked with MegaDiancie and has convinced me that she's a pretty good pick against the Ravenholts in general.
  13. Yo wait. So we can use pokemon whose pre-evolved forms don't share the type? Otherwise light's win is void since he used fortress, which if the above holds true like it does for megas would mean escavalier/scizor/fortress are exclusive to Atlantis. Eeveelutions would be an exception of course since they change types completely on evolution. I kept thinking our types had to be share with the entire line for use to claim it. Like Gaia would be able to use Steelix since it keeps Onix's ground typing, but Vulcan wouldn't since onix didn't have a steel typing in the first place. On the other hand, we'd be locked out on Nidoking.I know it holds true for megas, but I thought it did for preevos as well. Come to think of it, that would've hurt a lot of options, especially for Phantom Vulcan. Still nice to know I'm not locked out of Nidoking/queen.
  14. This week only poison and normal arceus is allowed though Sides, OG Arceus is OURS.
  15. This battle is saturday/sunday no? I'm afraid I have a wedding to go to so I don't know if I'll be able to battle :/ Also, looking at Avalon and Amazon topics we really don't look like the rightful inheritors of the earth we ought to be. no theme song, no logo, no overall theme aesthetic....come on Gaia Nation, we have the ALMIGHTY Arceus and LIFEMOTHER Xerneas at our beckon, we need to look and feel the part too. Given our types and iconic legendaries, I think ruthless templars or crusaders could be a nice base to build off. Just some flavor suggestions.
  16. The end, which is basically a credits roll.I believe that concludes this wonderful series.
  17. Gargos in Killer instinct fights a lot like hoopa unbound lol

  18. ...No pics? No speech? or you're still in the process of getting that down?
  19. How is Kuro getting Chimchar? Going by the actual posts in the thread he should be getting treecko or froakie...
  20. I just put a number after the original file than started a new one. So instead of game.rxdata, rename it game.rxdata1(or 2 or whatever). I had 3 different characters at one point. It's easier than it seems, just note the current file you're playing will be game.rxdata. I did a monotype flying run before as well and even tracked it in the team showcase thread, it's a fun type that still offers a lot of variety and isn't too hard, although one fight later on who usually isn't too bad becomes about as hard as a gym leader due to their team shutting down a lot of fliers. If you manage to get Togekiss it's GGs, he's excellent. Archeops is great too from what I hear but I miss out on him every playthrough.
  21. Infernape was NOT a weaker Blaziken when it first came out. It actually overshadowed Blaziken until speed boost, which is one of the best abilities in the game.
  22. Some of use still don't know which nations we're a part of. When can we expect an update on that?
  23. Whenever somebody syas, "this game is the dark souls of ___! it kind of turns me off since I'm getting quite tired of gamers acting like Dark Souls invented difficulty or something. I like Souls but Souls 3 showed me that I'm quite tired of the formula and would love for people to move past its design trend.

The common misconception that Dark Souls is extremely difficult just lies in its steep learning curve. One you overcome thag curve it's no longer particularly challenging.

      Anvilicious

Caz said it. I feel like Dark Souls would actually be more enjoyable/accessable to more players if it just had a more involved tutorial level beyond 'this button does this'.

    3. Shamitako

      Shamitako

Dark Souls consistently comes off as just being Nintendo Hard to me, but I haven't actually played it so I can't really say

  24. ^Vero never looked Caucasian to me personally, closer to Asian or latino, though Italian fits well too especially with his name sounding vaguely Italianish. Black hair + light/fair skin is usually used for Asian human characters in anime with black hair being a common phenotype among italians/latinos so that's probably why. Anyhoo I've went over this in my head many times and I won't lie in that it kind of affected my player choice in playthroughs. Since there's 6 trainers I'll give them multiple ones. For Vero: as people have stated, this guy looks like he grew up in Reborn's dirty southside ghetto and has that street vibe about him. I feel his starter should sort of reflect this, being something with attitude and muscle yet still having a streetwise sense to it. Personally I'd go with Chimchar since it turns into Infernape that emphasizes a hard hitting and fast offense but it also a trickster in its own right. Squirtle is a nice pick as well since wartortle's bad attitude and Blastoise's cannons fit his street vibe well. I'd even give Tepig a shot here too, as while it's not clever looking in any sense it certainly looks the part of a brute that would be fitting. Plus its ears resembles a bandanna. Alice comes off as the most feminine and ladylike of the PCs, also seeming more shy than the others. Chikorita would be my immediate pick for her, with fennekin coming second. Charmander could work too actually, as I like the contrast of "the maiden and her dragon." dynamic. Alice seems like she'd have a thing for fairy tales too which Charizard looks like he came straight out of. Kuro seems rather laidback and more of a brains over brawn kind of guy, as well as a quick thinker. Froakie like many others have said seems like a great match for him, but I'd throw in Treecko as well. Turtwig seems rather chill too so I can see it fitting Kuro. Lucia would be the Genki girl of the group; fun loving, energetic, and a bit quirky as well. I like the idea of her having Mudkip, totodile or Torchic. Ari seems like the quiet loner of the group, but one who would favor strong pokemon with an intimidating presence. Bulbasaur, oshawott and Cyndaquil would be my picks for xyr if mainly because their evolved forms having that vibe to them while their base forms seem a bit more solitary.. Decibel to me always looked like xe came from Lapis ward or an upper class background as opposed to Vero the hoodrat, even having this bit of noble confidence about xyr. Piplup, Snivy, or Chespin would fit perfectly. How Alola's starters would fit is up in the air since we don't know what they'd turn into. Going by base forms alone, I'd give Rowlette to Alice or Decibel, Litten to Vero or Ari, and Popplio to Lucia.
