  1. He fought and lost to Shade multiple times. Whether he took Shade's position or is trapped somewhere in Victory Road or Charous Pass remains unknown. In my opinion, we are going to meet some shady figure before our E4 challenge, or have a side quest with him(?).
  2. Thing is, I don't know if you'd play balanced or heavier teams in-game. You have given us little to work with, so we won't know if you don't like certain mons or have used them before. That said, I will not provide Absol in order to give other underused pokemon a chance. Place the first forms in the shared box and then begin your new run. Let's use some neglected pokemon to pique your interest... Kingdra: Water/Dragon +Fills in 2 of your type demands +Can go either Physical or Special (or mixed but shh) +Access to Dragon Dance +Seadra has good defense so it can alleviate pressure from Funguss +Gets faster depending on the weather (and your ability) -May need you to go fishing with a Compoundeyes mon. Meh, worth the shot Amoonguss: Grass/Poison +Covers up Kingdra's weaknesses quite nicely +Good mon to tank hits and apply status +May have great use in doubles (depending on your preference) -Slow AF -Might need a while to grind up Houndoom: Fire/Dark +Great special attacker +Mega Evolution +Early Access to Nasty Plot -You need to complete the Magma/Aqua sidequests in Lapis Now we have already created a FGW core with half of the requirements. Moving on to patch the holes of the team Espeon: Psychic +Ability forbids all status moves, plus hazards +Fast and hitting hard +Fairy and Bug coverage ~Lack of moves allows wish support -Hard to get (unless using method mentioned in the intro) Gliscor: Ground/Flying +Alleviates pressure from Amoonguss +Great typing allows a lot of switches with immunities to both Ground and Electric +Works as a support or a bulky offensive mon +Access to acrobatics before Kiki +Good with children ~May make the game easier until you reach Aya -Has to be transfered -Burdens your main offense (Kingdra and Houndoom) to take the Water and Ice moves aimed at him respectively At this point we have filled the criteria. Due to the no-type-repetition rule, I cannot recommend a starter. Yet, I can do this. Eelektross: Electric +Levitate +Early access +Utility with moves like Drain Punch, Discharge, Acid Spray, Flamethrower +Good offense and defense, an all-around reliable mon +Helps balance the team: at first as a burden till Aya (while your other pokemon are overpowered), then as a valuable member (just as things become difficult, it evolves) ~Might feel like you are playing with 5 mons -Slow -Has to breed for better moves -Forced to wait till you get that Thunderstone
  3. The "surprisingly" part was meant for the second part of your sentense. I just worded it poorly.
  4. I suggest putting the NFE form if you are going to be stuck with it for more than half of the game. You can add the evolution as a +, indicating after which leader it can evolve. Notable examples are Magnezone (only available as such after Luna), and Mamoswine (since the move relearner's house is accessible after Aya, not Shelly. All Mystery Egg pokemon should be placed with some caution, as they are effectively unavailable. If you get it early, fine. But 17/18 won't, and not all 18 of them are worthy. That said, Excadrill deserves the S rank, as an early access is a game-changer. Rhydon on the other hand, does not. It's strong AF, especially as Rhyperior. However, by the time you get access to the protector item, Rhydon can't keep up with the other Rock/Ground types (not to mention alternatives to Rock). I'd put it at B. Opinions on given mons
  5. Not only Rock, but also Electric and Steel pokemon are good enough to deal with Ciel's dancing routine. Sadly Emolga is not bulky enough to deal with multiple hits. Surprisingly things like Aggron are more than capable of tanking the hits and destroy the M-Altaria Make sure you buy enough Air Balloons just in case you can exploit continuous EQ against your mons.
  6. I didn't know that. I thought they were just adding base power, unless it's not a damaging move.
  7. You will get the stones in the future. If you have time to spare, take that egg. It's nice to see most areas revealed.
  8. So the Lunaala-Necrozma Z-move bypasses Mimikyu's ability. Yep, trying to make them much better than Megas indeed.
  9. You guys used Serperior and Donphan against an Ice gym. I can't be mad. Things like Weather Ball, Bulldose/Earthquake, Secret Power, Charge Beam, and (soon) Leech life are going to be very useful, especially Mid-game when the balance is starting to be set with more powerful pokemon to abuse them. Depending on the field, even Splash can be useful
  10. Try editing your posts instead of multi-posting. It makes it much easier to read.
  11. Well, since Abilities and Nature can be changed, I don't think anyone paid attention. IV's matter little. At least less than Nature, EVs and Base stats. It seems you took a lot of sets from Smogon, or at least checked what the tendencies for said mons are. Thing is, competitive works different. The changes I suggest for the pokemon you already have are: 1) Serperior: Give it HP-Ground. If you played competitively, you'd know how useful that can be (most common: fire, second best: ground). In my opinion you should either get rid of Leech seed or Substitute. You seem to prefer playing very offensively so tactics with toxic/sub/wish etc won't really work. Naturally, going offensively in campaign-mode is the fastest way to complete any pokemon game, but you are trying to balance the movesets without using more defensive pokemon and this might lead to problems. Remove Substitute and try to use Leech Seed for tankier foes that your other members can deal with, or to hit something in doubles. 2) Frosslass: Try giving it Confuse Ray instead of Spikes. They aren't that useful in campaign. 3) Metagross: Definitely give it Thunder Punch, unless you are willing to train an electric type faster than Magnezone. In that case, Hammer Arm seems okay. Possible Additions: 1) Slowbro: Great pokemon, and quite balanced. With a moveset of Surf / Psyshock / Calm Mind / filler move (usually reserved for Ice Beam or Fire Blast) you are covered in more ways than one. I highly recommend it over Milotic and Swampert, mainly because it can function without TMs just as well, and save you healing rounds simply by switching around. 2) Electivire: Much faster than Magnezone, electric immunity, and a good movepool to choose from. You have no electrics, which means you had to go through the trouble of passing the factory and short-circuit fields without exploiting them. Since you can get Elekid after Calcenon, give it a try. It can also learn Flamethrower, which will be handy for Titania. 3) Powerful Staraptor: I noticed you have nothing flying or levitating, and the fact that you are trying to cover up your defensive synergy with possible 4th moves shows you need more reliable members for your team. Since a physical bird with Intimidate can aleviate some of the more defensive problems you have, I think it's worth a shot.
  12. Not a bad alternative. I treated it as if it were a mega, thus restricting myself, in order to make it balanced. I reckon it's the field effects mainly boosting said PULSEs. Besides, anyone can mindlessly boost whatever as much as they'd like. A 100+ general idea for the PULSE is all it actually needs, since we can come up with monsters if we apply whatever we choose. If we need to go that far, I guess we can have specifics on the PULSEs' stats by accessing all the datafiles with RPG-maker. edit: I am actually getting used to the idea of a special-based PULSE Flygon. Like.. REALLY into it, as if it's an actual implementation.
  13. Creature: Flygon Typing: Ground / Dragon Location: Desert Ability: Sand Force Pokedex: It's known as "The Desert Spirit" because of the song-like voice that emanates from the sandstorms it kicks up. Current Stats: 80/100/80/80/80/100 Amplification: 80/150/100/60/125/105
  14. Byxbysion wasn't always a Wasteland. There is room for adequate explanation for all the encounters, bar the Mew one (since it's most probably for Ame's own amusement).
  15. I'd rather have a new Rotom form than break the Z-moves.
  16. Emboar works as a Wallbreaker, which is something this team desperately needs. It is by no means frail with 110/65/65 as HP counts much more in damage calcs than Def/SpD (Ask Chansey). It basically works as an improvement upon Ursaring, whilst being a reliable Fire type for the team. The OP wants to make a sturdy FGW core, and here's why Emboar fits: > Emboar stats: 110 / 123 / 65 / 100 / 65 / 65 > Camerupt stats: 70 / 100 / 70 / 105 / 75 / 40 we can see that Emboar's higher HP makes up for the slightly lower defenses, and in fact it actually becomes much sturdier, especially when moderately invested Also, Camerupt is forced to run mixed, not allowing full EV spread on all HP, Atk, SpA, not to mention the inferior offensive stats and the abysmal speed. If you are so concerned with Speed, save a slot for Flame Charge (15lvl), along with Flare Blitz, Head Smash and (possibly) Superpower or Hammer Arm. Right now Camerupt and Ursaring both take the same slow, not so good defensively pokemon role, that needs support in order to function properly. Emboar replaces them both and opens up room for a faster Ground type, that the team could benefit from. Something like Flygon improves the position much better, since it's also quite fast. To compare with something similar, Darmanitan is also great as a pokemon in general. It's just that Emboar can also benefit from special moves as it levels up, while Darm desperately needs certain unobtainable TMs to work ideally. That's why I suggest Emboar over Darmanitan, especially at the point he currently is.
  17. Go to Pyrrus Mt and get yourself an Emboar. >Now you can remove Ursaring, which is pretty much dragging you down. >>Now you can get rid of Camerupt for a better Ground type. My suggestions in decreasing order: Flygon, Golem, Golurk, Nidoking You should raise more than 6 pokemon anyway. A rotation team is much more efficient long-term (especially after Noel). With that in mind, I also suggest you raise some of the following: i) Crobat or Scolipede ii) Ampharos or Eelektross iii) Aggron or Klinklang iv) Espeon or Gardevoir
  18. Nah. It's been so long. Last time I opened this we were still on page 967. I am willing to bet my pal Viri is watching this.
  19. If you are going to use a strong bulky Grass type, I'd suggest either Amoonguss or Tangrowth. They can switch around and regain health (saving you the need to heal them yourself), tank hits from Steel, Water and Rock pokemon, and retaliate with Giga Drain, Knock Off and possible status or Leech Seed. You will even force switches with the new AI. Always keep in mind Water will have Ice, and Rock will have Fire. Yet, if they are physical, they can tank them (especially Tangrowth). Of course it also matters which pokemon you like using so, if you are not like me who wants to experiment, you might have a completely different opinion. Another precious pokemon I've been using lately and fits great with your team is Malamar. It's practically ready as soon as it reaches 50lvl with Superpower, Night Slash, Psycho Cut and a filler move. Definitely going to demolish the Rock and Steel gyms, and has good chances of poking holes in Water. Not sure about Dragon, since Saphira has to go for mixed attackers. A third choice, since you are keen on breeding/raising is Ludicolo. Bear in mind Hardy is either going to use a Cradily-esque strategy to stop water types, or a hyper-offensive one to prevent set-ups. This guy can bypass most problems, thanks to his mediocre bulk and possible exploitation of the weather. I saw you have no weather moves on your pokemon, so I guess you change it with mods. This one uses Rain, and it can also exploit the water fields with Swift Swim. A good set with Hydro Pump, Giga Drain and Ice Beam (provided we get it) and a filler move (like Substitute), holding either Lefties or Life Orb, can demolish either gym. tl;dr I proposed 3 Grass types and 1 Psychic type. Take your pick.
  20. We are all on the same page. Don't ruin the joke. Welcome to Reborn.
  21. You must be a terrible suicide bomber. Although 'explosion' has 5PP you should only ever need 1.
  22. I was actually expecting Assembly to be Rock/Ghost. Adhesive resembles the Lake Trio, and evolving is not really a UB theme. So "Mind Blown" is a stronger "Flare Blitz" with probably more recoil. Seems quite good so far. It only needs to buff Necrozma somehow, since it was outclassed by all legendaries and ET's last game.
  23. Great work with this one! Due to messing with my PC's date, I ended up stuck in certain weather. So if I re-roll it 1 week later, I effectively get rid of this problem, right? Funny thing is, weather was "windy" but it appeared as a "storm". Is there a difference between the mild and the intense form of the weather? Also, I suppose you just loaded all possible weather patterns from essentials, since I don't remember "sandstorm" anywhere in Reborn (before E17).
  24. I'll go full meta with Raichu-A 60/85/50/95/85/110 BST: 485 That little fellow has great speed coupled with decend SpA, with dual STAB that can be resisted only by 20 pokemon (34 with the NFE). I bet once it's included in Reborn, it will become a must-have for mid-range gyms, since it's so good in opening holes in the opponent's teams.
