  1. That's why we needed a M-Flygon that's a special attacker I'd say a defensive Tankchomp set works better with the available moves. Offensively it's about the same. Flygon's coverage makes up for the turn it needs to reach the damaging potential Garchomp has. It's annoying not having the best of moves at your disposal, and have to deal with misses or lost turns. That's all I'm saying. If we're making a clean comparison (eg in showdown), Garchomp is a superior pokemon in every single way. Otherwise you'd get it around Serra as well. However, if one gets sick for having to use Flygon, they would probably get more sick having to use a badass pokemon to less than half its potential.
  2. At least Flygon doesn't need TMs to have a full moveset. Have fun playing with Bulldose and Rock Tomb.
  3. If you intend to hack in a pokemon to start with, you should also include which is going to be. If not, then Ice is unusable. You have... Vanillite and later Jynx. Do you intend to ditch your starter right after you get Vanillite?
  4. The procedure to remove an extensive bone tumor is really brutal. I couldn't help but feel excited watching it.

  5. Don't get me wrong, I know. That's why I suggest that we check their level-up learnset before depositing them into the day-care, to avoid such problems. That's what I do. Usually you let something stay quite a while, before picking it up, since the trainers in the Grand Hall are a much faster way to get experience than running around. That of course is up to each player's preference. As Ame suggested before, at the very worst, make them have an egg with the moves the pokemon had upon entry.
  6. This is easily avoided by checking the level up moves of the pokemon you deposit. See up to which level it's safe to let it in the day-care without losing precious moves, level it some yourself, and put it back there again. When you have the rebattlable trainers in the Grand Hall giving you both experience and money to spend in the daycare, it's silly to be annoyed by the 100$ the old couple asks. It's less than a Pokeball. Move Relearner is a thing, although I don't know if they provide the egg moves you let your pokemon lose.
  7. I wouldn't get too excited. It's a limited event and I don't know many of those.
  8. I am worried that nobody's ever going to use Midday form if Dusk is included. Midday 75 / 115 / 65 / 55 / 65 / 112 Keen Eye, Sand Rush /// Steadfast Knows Accelerock Midnight 85 / 115 / 75 / 55 / 75 / 82 Keen Eye, Vital Spirit /// No Guard Knows Counter Dusk 75 / 117 / 65 / 55 / 65 / 110 Tough fookin' Claws Knows Accelerock
  9. Duskroc is similar to Ash Greninja. Might never see the light of day.
  10. It's one of the better Mystery Egg pokemon. Great early Water type with bulk and a viable support movepool. Only fears Radomus, since Terra's pokemon are slower.
  11. If Titania plays doubles, then Swagger shenanigans work just fine. Otherwise, Baton Passing works as well.
  12. We know gym leaders don't train pokemon of only one type, so I got an idea. I would like to have a post-game battle with Radomus, in which he has a multi-type team and all his pokemon are nicknamed after famous chess masters.

It would be fun in Radomus' specific case, especially since his strategy (Trick Room) doesn't rely on monotyping or a specific field to be effective.

But I'm thinking that most of Reborn's leaders would actually be less challenging if they used multi-type teams. They couldn't benefit well from field effects, most of which are designed to benefit a certain type(s), and in this game field effects are often a big part of why some leaders can be difficult to beat (looking at you, Corey, Serra, Charlotte).

Not to mention monotyping is an essential component of what makes leaders' charm. I couldn't imagine Shade using something other than Ghost types, Luna with something other than Dark types, or Charlotte with something other than Fire types.

So, if we had rematches with leaders who ditched their monos, and aren't using their own fields anymore, it would feel a bit as if... we weren't really facing them, more like another ordinary trainer who would happen to have a full team of strong mons.

Just my 2 cents of course =3

While true that their main power comes from their respective field effects, they could still follow a certain strategy by ditching their monos. As first seen in Hardcore mode and then in the double battles with Florinia/Julia, they can pull this off quite spectacularly. Fern and Cain should be seen as work-in-progress. Even if they are no longer monotype users, they started this way, and adjust their teams to the given fields.

In my opinion, with proper planning they can be even fiercer. For example, I wouldn't struggle that much against Noel, had it not been for his Clefable, which is a Fairy among Normal types.

We could do something similar with others. Radomus is the easiest one to put almost everywhere. Heck, if we were to battle him in some place like the Glitch world, he would be even stronger. I could see him use doubles with Steel types side-by-side with Psychic types.

Another example I had in mind was Ciel, whose Flying mono is very prone to SR damage and could use the help of some Ground types or even things like Magnezone to trap and stop the Bolt/Beam.

Having the chance to battle 2 or 3 teams of theirs in the post game seems exciting right now.

We only need to work a bit harder to make it still be a challenge for 100lvl pokemon.

In Radomus' case, Steel types and Glitch field wouldn't synergize well, but I catch your drift.

On another topic, Noel's Clefable has never ever been a threat to me. His real ace has always been Porygon-Z in my eyes, but maybe that's just me, and I can talk only for standard Reborn, not hardcore.

Maybe I have a bias against leader rematches because it has always seemed a bit pointless to me. We've already beaten the guys once, as part of the story, and they were doing their job as leaders, experts of a specific type. I'm happy with that.

But for players who want additional challenges during the post game, then sure, it's a good idea and I hope Ame and the team will come up with ideas to renew these characters' teams and strategies. Provided rematches is something they have in mind for the post game at all, of course.

  13. Notes on the sex part: It's better not to mix different things to avoid generalization. The "sex" part is binary. Depends on your SRY gene. If you have it, you're biologically male. If not, then female. There is the spectrum of intersex in which people have external genitalia from both sexes. This is mainly due to hormone anomalies during gestation, but they still are either male or female in their genotype. Some even have functional organs. Others are not so lucky. Notes on the expression part: This one's main influence is society, and what is considered appropriate for each gender in each time period. However, not all roles are "imposed" upon a person based on their sex, as implied. Some behavioral traits are observed in other primates, with males and females taking part in certain activities. Male chimps (Macacae) are inherently competitive with each other, not only to acquire nutrition or attract the females, but also as they play, with no apparent motive except possibly for a temporary establishment of dominance. Female chimps tend to care for the newer members of the "family" and protect them when they deem necessary (eg playing with each other leads to harm). Some genders take certain roles instinctively. In our human society some instincts may be deemed obsolette, but it's a mistake to regard them as a byproduct of the norms of society when we can observe them in other species. Bill Nye was smart enough to present an example that has no relation to human basic needs (nutrition and psychological assistance) but turned his focus towards more aesthetic examples. This however is not a basis to claim that all human roles that are observed mainly on one gender are somehow imposed on them by society. I have seen such claims, and I believe we should be careful in order not to generalize. Those who do, usually have something to gain from it.
  14. Electivire is supposed to be a Yeti. If it had a Fighting or Ice subtype you all wouldn't complain. It's a good pokemon competitive-wise. It's just lackluster not to be hyped enough. The design could be a bit better, but it fits. I agree with the points raised about Blaziken. The mega looks much worse.
  15. She hasn't. The Dev Blog reads 11/10. Yesterday's changes were Gliscor and Turtonator, the ones I posted.
  16. Has been since E16. You just need to fish in Celestinine Mt. Edit: 10/11 --> Gliscor and Turtonator are now available
  17. So... when is E17 coming out? Now there is NO stunfisk. No pokemon. You fight with your fists.
  18. I sell baclofen and baclofen accessories.

  19. The least should be 13 now (14 then) given we always get 1 line from gen7. Your case assumes some days we'll get 2 from gen7.
  20. E18 release date??!?1?

  21. You can always use it against wild mons and figure it out, but an early access NPC is much more worth it.
