  1. And this type of shit is why I tend not to like time travel stories. If there's an infinite amount of universes and these choices are gonna be made by another player/Melia no matter what I pick, it makes the whole thing seem inconsequential. If the original world would be fine because some other player/Melia would return there then I can just as easily say that me choosing to stay would doom that 3rd timeline that the 3rd player/Melia abandoned to go back to the OG timeline. So one alt timeline is getting doomed no matter what meaning I might as well take the better timeline for myself. Your entire argument is basically that I should only focus on saving the alt timeline because that's the one I happen to be in at the present moment and some other player/Melia from another timeline will deal with the others. There's no guarantee that they will or that I won't create a paradox by not going back. From my understanding, the only reason the player and Melia didn't disappear already is because of the talismans Tiempa gave them. That implies that the world we came from doesn't exist anymore so I am actually dooming the OG timeline by not going back. That is why I am skeptical about your claim that it would be fine no matter what I pick.
  2. So the old timeline still exists even if you change the past and then never return to it? The original timeline you came from is the one where you went back a 2nd time and let Vivian do her incomplete spell. That means if you never return from the alt timeline, the OG would never come into existence in the first place creating a paradox. Even if we ignore that, I assume the player and Melia still have important shit to do in the original timeline. Things that would save it from disaster which they wouldn't be able to do if they stayed in the alt timeline forever. And the OG timeline has many more people so again, that's the correct choice if your goal is to save as many people as possible. And if you want to play the alternate universe game, going back to stop yourself from stopping Vivian could create yet another new alt universe where you save another however many million people from the catastrophe. Either you create the OG timeline by going back or if the OG timeline is unaffected by your decision, you create a new timeline saving even more people.
  3. Well the obvious thing to do would be catching any electric type and naming it Thor but here's some more interesting ideas. You could catch some dog like Pokemon such as Houndoom, Mightyena or even Arcanine and name it Fenrir. Next a snake like Pokemon so Gyarados, Milotic, Seviper or even Stelix and name it Jormundgandr (if you don't know what these are just Google them and find out. All from Norse Mythology). Next a flying type named Vedrfolnir. Then a beastly water type could be Hafgufa. Lastly this would have actually been a good name for Torterra but if that's taken, you could still catch a grass type like Tangrowth and name it Yggdrasil. It is meant to be a tree however so it might work better on a Trevenant or even Sudowoodo. Hope some of this is useful.
  4. Since you somehow have a Salamence, do you want us to suggest Pokemon that you can actually catch in game or just whatever comes to mind? I could definitely see a Lati fitting in there maybe over Gardevoir since you don't have any hazard control. Heatran could go over Magmortar for the rocks and toxic and a nice clean mega Lopunny could go instead of Scrafty. Or alternatively you could do mega mence if you don't care about tiers. Maybe Blaziken over Scrafty in that case.
  5. That's another way to get it. Not sure what the chance for it to drop is but 20 minutes seems like too long. Maybe just bad luck. But yea this method is much quicker if you want multiple ice creams because you can buy them in bulk although it might be more expensive depending on your luck with the machine. I also spent all my money and bought 33 of them. Hoarding Blue Moons and rare candies might be a legit way to carry more money considering how low the cap is compared to how much things cost. One stack of 99 rare candies or Blue Moons can be sold for max money so each one is like another wallet. And unlike with money you can have multiple stacks of the same item.
  6. Find an ice cream vendor and just keep talking to them then canceling until they sell Blue Moon ice cream. If you speed up the game you'll probably get it in a minute or two which seems like the quicker and easier option if you ask me.
  7. Yes. Or at least breed for decent IVs. Definitely EV train. Its spacial rend. The move rends (tears apart) space.
  8. Depends on how late into the game you're talking about. I'd definitely swap out the Vaporeon for a Rotom-W or maybe a Milotic. If you really want to keep it, at least teach it scald over surf for the burn chance. Next I'd swap the Krookodile either for a Garchomp or Excadrill depending on what you're looking for. If you pick Exca, either choice scarf or life orb SD. If Garchomp, SD+Firium Z although I don't think we have access to that yet. It would work great if you can get screens up. Next you have no rocks. Clef gets rocks easy fix. And expert belt is just bad. Give it lefties. You might want to teach Tangrowth knock off too. One of the most broken moves in the game. Those are a few obvious changed I can think of but you should definitely have other Pokemon in your PC and rotate them out as necessary.
  9. I understand that's probably what Jan was getting at but I still think it's a very poor way of phrasing it and most people would not interpret it that way unless they already knew what each choice did. Even you said (albeit jokingly) that you selected the 3rd choice to be trollish without actually knowing what it meant and I've seen other people also select it for completely unrelated reasons. If you're expected to make it a choice, your options should be very clear and then you can see the consequences of that decision. It shouldn't be: "pick A, B or C and then we'll tell you what you picked". Especially since you're meant to be Melia while making the choice and she should know what she herself is thinking. It shouldn't be a mystery. Also, I disagree that choosing to escape makes you look like a terrible person because if you think about it logically, going back to the original timeline saves millions and prevents the catastrophe so it actually benefits both you and the world. It's the correct choice and I stand by it.
  10. Well I can "touch them" perfectly fine for neutral damage with most of my team. I do also have another Aegislash which is exactly the same except it has sacred sword over flash cannon but really the plan is for mega lopunny to be my fighting type. I do also have an EV trained Alakazam (only 31 IVs in Spatk) with magic guard and dazzling gleam so I could put a sash on that and get off a hit or two. And I've got a Weavile (31 in Atk/Speed) with low kick that's currently banded. I can always rotate one of them in as long as I'm not fighting the E4 or something. Most dark types also have a secondary type which I can hit like Bisharp with ground or Hydreigon with dragon. I guess the biggest threat would be mega Sableye. I used to spam that thing in XY OU until it got banned. So broken. Worst case I would have to stall it out of recovers. Another threat that isn't dark type is an opposing Rotom-W. I can chip it down but since this is in game, they're probably gonna be using full restores on it. Then there's offensive Lando-T with U-turn. My Ferro is Spdef so I die to 3 EQs or 2 with Earth Plate so Rotom-W is my best counter but it can outspeed and U-turn out for the chip. Hippo can tank a few EQs and toxic so I've got that. That's my main team but I do have some 15 more EV trained mons which I've mostly used in the past. There's the Weavile and Alakazam, Gengar, Blaziken (pretty shitty IVs), Greninja (perfect IVs in relevant stats, max Speed/Spatk, Mild nature with Gunk, Hydro, Dark pulse, Extrasensory (should be U-turn)), Milotic (perfect IVs, shiny, max Spdef), Flygon (decent IVs Adamant with choice scarf) and I have a Mawile with perfect IVs waiting for a mega stone as well as a Lopunny with 31 in Atk/Spe/Hp waiting for a mega stone. I definitely advise breeding your Pokemon for perfect IVs at least in their primary stats so speed and Atk/Spatk for your fast damage dealers and Hp/Def/Spdef for your defensive mons. It's actually really easy to make sure you get perfect IVs in 2 stats and you can get it in 2-3 generations so it's really just a shame not to do it. Just find a mon in your box with 31 IVs in a stat, make it hold the correct EV training item and it is guaranteed to pass on that stat when breeding. And IVs definitely matter I can tell you that. The main point of my sand team is to be versatile so I can beat unknown teams and especially the E4 where you're not allowed to access the PC. Excadrill should be able to sweep anything with hazards up, sand and 1 SD as long as they don't send in a fucking Skarmory or something. But I obviously have Rotom for that. Anyway, good luck with your teambuilding and 84% HYPE!
  11. Yea I figured as much. I did that when building my sand team while assuming that all the threats have +1 Atk/SpAtk because I know the fields are probably gonna buff them to at least that. Although I really hope it's not so broken that they'll be outspeeding my jolly max speed Excadrill in sand because that would just be stupid. I even have a lvl 1 Aron with Sturdy/Endeavor in my PC just in case. So hyped to use this against the E4, Saphira, Lin and whatever else Ame throws at us. The main team is Ferro (Spdef spikes leech seed), Aegislash (Hp/Spatk with shadow sneak), Excadrill (SD life orb), Garchomp (Jolly max spe/atk fire blast Firium Z once I get it), Hippo (toxic/rocks), Rotom-W (Max Def/HP wisp signal beam (alternatively trick choice scarf)). All of them have perfect (in relevant stats) IVs except Rotom is 30 def and Chomp is 29 Spdef. Honestly just swap Aegislash for Lando and this would be one of my OU teams. I don't have any good mega stones yet but later on I could swap hippo out for mega T-tar, give Garchomp a mega stone or just put mega Lopunny in over something. I could also breed a mega Glalie now but I don't think we have access to Explosion yet. SO much hype for E18.
  12. If you want something defensive, my suggestions would be Rotom-W, Aegislash and Ferrothorn. Rotom would give you the ground immunity, it has Wisp and an electric move so it could replace Magnezone. And if you want a steel type, Ferro and Aegislash can cover that easily if you swap out one more mon. Keep in mind that you can rotate out Pokemon as necessary. You don't have to use 6 and never anything else. I'd also suggest picking up an Excadrill since that mon is broken and could go in place of Garchomp if you are fighting fairy types and it actually has more attack as well as rapid spin in case you ever need that. Again, I highly recommend having multiple battle ready mons in the PC so you use whatever you need for a particular battle. Honchkrow for example would fare much better in singles while Rotom-W+a ground type gives would give you free EQ and Discharge without hurting your own mon in doubles. A very nice combo.
  13. I have a Shiny charm and the rate is definitely not that. Maybe 1/50 or something.
  14. Dude, we are not talking about lower tiers, we are talking about PU which is the literal lowest tier. Those are the worst of the worst. I wouldn't have even mentioned it if he had 1-2 Pokemon from that tier but he has 4 PU mons out of his 6 and 1 LC. And clearly this is a casual player who just wants to get through the game so explaining to him that he is using some very bad mons and that he should catch some better ones seems like the best way to solve his problem. I already addressed the topic in my first post and told him what he should catch to help with this gym and in general. Even your brilliant strategy was to use different mons except you'd have him use other PU mons while I suggested he catch something good that would still be useful later in the game. This is just how Pokemon works. Some mons are good early on at low levels but then they become absolutely useless later on because of their low stats. You're probably assuming he has 31 IVs on those calcs and also that OP is actually gonna bother to EV train his mons (or even knows how to). But yea, I'm pretty sure we'll be able to rebattle gym leaders in post game. They're gonna have much stronger teams though with legendaries. Not sure whether you'll be able to battle the old team though. Right now I just wanna use my broken Ubers (because of Aegislash) sand team with SD Excadrill against something. Oh that's gonna be fun.
  15. The PU Pokemon are in PU for a reason. Usually it's because they have extremely low stats so you definitely don't wanna be bringing them against lvl 75 OU teams which also get boosted by the fields. It's just a bad idea in general especially if you're just doing a casual run and don't plan on breeding for IVs and EV training. Maybe even impossible after you get to Amaria or something. On another note, why doesn't that Shiinotic have spore? Why else would anybody use that thing. . .Although you'd be WAY better off just catching an Amoonguss which does the exact same thing except 50 times better. Spore, Giga drain, Toxic, Sludge bomb and it has much better stats. Almost double the HP with only slightly lower Def and SpDef. There's you're Palossand counter right there. Just Toxic it and make Terra waste all her full restores. It learns Toxic via level up so you don't even need the TM. You can catch one easily on Azurine island. And later on you can teach it foul play to destroy Aegislash. Meanwhile Shiinotic would just get OHKOed.
  16. You have like 4 PU Pokemon, 1 RU and 1 LC. It's no wonder you're struggling this late into the game. My advice would be changing everything except Delphox and Vulpix which you should probably evolve. As for specific Pokemon for this battle, Weavile is great especially if you're struggling against Garchomp. Although you might need to breed icicle crash onto it so catch Beartic first. Some other good mons would be Milotic, Alakazam, Gardevoir, Quagsire, Crawdunt. From the Pokemon you already have, Pangoro and Durant are decent.
  17. The issue isn't the buildup, it's the way the "correct" choice was phrased. If you pick "do nothing" then Melia proceeds to explain Melanie's entire plan then she goes SSJ and fixes the alternate world before going back giving you the "good" ending (for V10 at least). When I read the choice, I expected that "do nothing" meant Melia would stand there indecisively which would probably be the worst thing she could do in the situation. That's my main problem with that part specifically. One possible fix would be making the 3rd option say "pick neither" which still wouldn't be ideal but at least it implies that Melia will proactively decide to try and save both worlds rather than sacrifice either world to save the other. As for the other choice I was talking about, you choose to either fight Kenneth in order to help Melia or don't fight and let Amber keep hitting her. If you don't fight, Melanie calls her off (same if you fight and lose) but if you fight and win, the player still just sits there and Melanie calls her off anyway so the choice (and whether you win the fight) literally doesn't matter at least for this part of the story. I suggested a small change where the player stops Amber himself if you choose to fight and win. This would greatly improve the scene and should be pretty easy to implement. Yes, I am asking him to change 2 lines of dialogue (which would not affect the overall story) to make the game better and I also clearly explained why this change would be good. If he decides to listen, great. If not, I still voiced my opinion and maybe it makes him think twice if there's a similar situation down the road. So I will definitely continue to voice criticisms/make suggestions and no, we have not had this conversation before.
  18. As of V10 it's: Melia>Crescent>Aelita>Lavender>Everyone else (not including Taelia since Aelita is a reincarnation of her and not including any alt versions of Melia). Also, "try to escape" was the correct choice since "do nothing"=/="reveal Melanie's plan". If anything, it makes it seem like you are too weak and indecisive to make a decision and are just gonna stand there like a statue while whatever happens next unfolds. I stand by my choice and will only go back to redo it if I absolutely have to in order to get a different/better story/ending later on. Oh and here's a suggestion. How about if I chose to fight and beat Kenneth, then the player kicks Amber in the face saving Melia. And if I decide not to fight him or lose, then the player just kinda stands there until Melanie calls Amber off. That's one rather small change that would make your choices seem like they actually matter and would in my opinion greatly improve the overall playing experience.
  19. I always thought we shouldn't give up on this game until an official update was posted that it's canceled and it looks like I was vindicated. That's fine, giving out release dates seems to be a huge no no when developing fangames and it's probably for a good reason. Take all the time you need and hopefully many of us will still be around when the next version comes out. Desolation is right up there with Reborn and Rejuvenation as far as I'm concerned so I'll definitely stick around.
  20. Their design are somewhat similar but I think that's mostly because of the hair style although even the color is slightly different. One interesting thing is that Luna's character has a ton of Alice in Wonderland references so it's possible that Ame named the protagonist that on purpose recognizing that the 2 characters looked alike.
  21. Can you still collect it? If not, talk to the union worker again after talking to the person who asks you for the ID so he can give you a Pokemon. Then try collecting it again.
  22. The fact that a true ending exists isn't a spoiler because Jan says it exists in his OP post. The CONTENTS of the true ending would be a spoiler which is why I didn't say anything about them. How to GET the true is not a spoiler because it's just a guide. Simple instructions just like when someone asks where they need to go next because they don't remember some dialogue or where a certain place is. Also, I wouldn't call it an "extra" part since it says right in the name that it's the TRUE ending. It's the one you're suppose to see to get the full experience. The most important part however is that the prerequisite is SO random and non intuitive that NOT telling people would be the absurd thing to do. You have to go to a completely random place at a completely random and very SPECIFIC time (half the people who got it by chance didn't even know when exactly they did this) with ZERO in game hints or help. One way it could have been done is an extra cut scene where Kenneth says something like: "I kinda want to take a break at the beach to gather my thoughts but I probably should be going back to Taelia to let her know what I've found." and maybe another monologue of him thinking about something like his family before saying that it's getting dark. You could make this only appear after you've already gotten the regular ending. Another way is a straight up message at the end of the regular ending telling you that there is another ending and then giving you some hint. It could be like in Kagetsu Tooya where every time you get a bad end they offer you the option to choose between a small hint and a big hint so each player can play according to their preferences. People who want to run around for 5 hours exploring every area in between every single cut scene can do that and the rest of us can be told where to go, get our ending and move on with our lives. Note that many of us just gave up looking (me after 3 hours) and opted to wait for someone to tell us anyway. Lastly, that's what spoiler tags are for. If you don't want to be "spoiled", don't open them. Simple. Now I'm done.
  23. I wish you posted this like 3 days ago when I was walking around for hours trying to figure out how to trigger the cut scene but good guide regardless. I thought the time capsule thing was bugged because there's some key in the hole where you beat Nihilego which doesn't show up in your inventory afterwards but I guess you don't need it after all? Anyway I doubt I'll play through this again so soon just for the capsule since I literally just played it twice so if someone wants to spoil me about what's inside, by all means do it. That is what the spoiler tag is for.
  24. YES! Now I don't have to manually switch the sprites. Although it doesn't seem like I can select the old sprite at the start so this could get awkward if the next version comes out and you can't switch anymore. I'd have to start playing V10, switch the sprite and then update to a newer version. That's just something to keep in mind if you decide to remove the sprite changer later on. One more thing, is there no way to get the other outfit back? It automatically changes me back to the old one after switching sprites and going to the box to change clothes switches my entire sprite back to the new one no matter which combination I try (change clothes first then sprite etc.). At this point I'll take what I can get but I did prefer the other outfit if I'm being honest. Especially since changing clothes was part of the actual story. Anyway, thanks for listening to the feedback.
