  1. I just thought I would address this. I am a devout christian. A catholic, in fact. And I think, no offense, that this point is absolutely stupid, the exact kind of thing that could only be a concern in America (it should be clear by now that I don't have the highest opinion of America as a country). Allow me to make something clear: "marriage" is a term that refers to two very different things. In some religions, "marriage" refers to a ritual performed in the name of God (or the gods, depending on the religion) following a very specific procedure. If said procedure clearly states "sorry, this ritual is not for homosexual people", then homosexual people don't get it. When in Rome, do as the romans do. When you are in a church, you play by the rules of the church. But in legal jurisdiction, "marriage" refers to the civil right two PEOPLE (notice the term "people": there is no constitution in the entire western world that makes an exception for homosexual people) have to form a family together, in the process gaining access to a number of privileges. As this is a civil right guaranteed by the constitution, it is the duty of public officials (in Italy for example it is the major of a town who has this duty) to administer this civil right for anyone who requests it, regardless of color of the skin of sexual orientation. Therefore, being heterosexual and a devout catholic christian, when I get married it will be in a church, in front of a priest. Meanwhile, my gay pal will get married in the city hall, in front of the major. I won't interfere with his right, and he won't interfere with mine. How does this discriminate me in any way? Golden Rule of democracy: you are free to do as you please as long as you don't limit the freedom of somebody else. How do gay people getting married limit my freedom? Quite honestly, I could care less.
  2. So there aren't gay texans? That's a very bold statement. Jokes aside, I think the mere fact that Sparky's opinion is being discussed here (or that Sparky felt the need to make his opinion known in the first place) proves my earlier point: there is a big big problem with people, if they cannot differentiate opinions from laws when it comes to these matters. People are entitled to their personal likings. And their personal likings should be their own private business: you like gay people? Who cares. You dislike gay people? Who cares. As mentioned earlier, I dislike people in general, so you could state that you hate gay people and you want to kill them all, for all I care. That has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand. The topic at hand has to do with the laws that govern a democracy. Which are based on cunstitutional principles and international jurisdiction involving civil rights, not on personal likings. Getting married is a right of all citizens, homosexuals are citizens, homosexuals are entitled to the right of getting married. End of discussion. Voicing your opinion is also a right of all citizens, you are a citizen, so you are entitled to the right of saying that you don't think homosexual unions are not "true" unions. It is an opinion deserving of respect like any other opinion, as long as it is expressed politely (on this regard, I was kinda expecting you to be flamed and hated by those Alexus called the "wolves", I am glad this was not the case. A civilized discussion on matters like these is a rare sight). However, being a personal opinion, it is absolutely irrelevant for the topic at hand. In short: you might not like the fact that people are entitled to a right, but they are entitled to it regardless. Heck I don't like the fact that people in Italy who miss good old Mussolini (and I hope it is clear that the "good old" part is sarcastic) have the right to vote, but they have it nonetheless. That's democracy for you.

      Lol I just read the gay marriage thread. Good luck sleeping tonight.

  4. Well if that is the case, then the situation is even worse than I stated in my previous post: on what basis one could make a law that is blatantly in contrast with the most basic principles of the costitution? Geez, my heart realy is glad that I am not american: certain things that happen in my country already piss me off to the point of worsening my heart condition, if I was american I would have gotten a friggin' infart by now. I knew I shouldn't have read this topic, there is no chance in hell I can get some sleep now. Seriously, these are exactly the things that have the power to ruin my mood.
  5. You know, I think this whole thing about "allowing homosexual marriages" is absolutely screwed up. In many countries, including my own, I see huge debates about whether or not homosexual marriages should be allowed (or, like in my country's case, if such marriages should have all the civil rights, including adoption and the possibility for a partner to keep on receiving the other's pension if he/she dies)... But you see, in order to "allow" something, the first requisite is that the something in question has to be forbidden in the first place. Has there ever been a law that specifically said "homosexual people cannot get married and/or adopt kids and/or access each other's pension in case of death"? If, like in my country, such an explicit law does not exist, then common sense demands tht we refer to the costitution. And the costitution explicitly states that all human beings are equal in front of the law, which implies that they should all get the same civil rights. Because of this, it makes no sense to debate over "allowing" homosexual people to have those rights: since there isn't, to my knowledge, a law that states that being homosexual caues you to lose your citizenship (not in my country, not in the USA and not in any other western country AFAIK), homosexual people should be automatically entitled to such rights, and merely thinking otherwise is absolutely nonsensical. There is nothing wrong in not liking homosexual people, heck I myself don't really like people in general, but personal likings have absolutely nothing to do with the administration of a democracy: in a democracy all citizens have some civil rights that are set in stone, homosexual people are citizens, so homosexual people are entitled to those rights like everybody else. It's that simple. The fact that this is not the case, the fact that we need LAWS to FORCE people to recognize that yes, homosexual people should have the same rights as anybody else, says a lot about the level of ignorance and bigotry in the socalled "modern" democracies. Which would lead me to tell you about what happened that time that I watched WWE with a gay friend of mine and we happened to see a Divas match, what he said in that occasion, and the massive critique of human society that one episode sparked... Which would result in an insanely long rant which I would rather avoid, so I better cut my blathering short here and now.
  6. It will soon be two years since Gen 6 came into being... And I still find Mr.Mime's 3D sprite to be disturbingly creepy.

      zimvader42

      Creepy, yes, disturbing, kinda, but at least I think it was pretty original to have it do that little mime animation.

  7. I read all these theories and discussions about Hydreigon's design, and a fact that is always brought up is that, and I quote, "it is well known to scientists that animals go insane if, after being blinded for a long time, they suddenly gain the ability to see". HOW DO SCIENTISTS KNOW THAT? WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THOSE POOR LITTLE ANIMALS?

    1. Shamitako

      Shamitako

      Experiments, duh. They probs use some chemical to blind them for a few weeks or months and then watch what happens when they can see again owo

      This is actually a well-documented thing; basically you don't have the mental equipment to actually process sight.

      You do realize that my asking that in dramatic fashion, thus implying the exact thing you said, was supposed to be the entire point of the joke which you have now murdered right? You are almost as cruel as those scientists <.<

  8. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ru-244159340 And just like that I am in the top 100 in RU, albeit barely. This is the first time I manage to make a succesful RU team. Could this be the beginning of a new campaign complete with RMT?

      Yeah, I am talking about Blazblue :)

      And yes, I love Hakumen too: his moves, his design, his characterization, everything about him, is fantastic... But I cannot play him to save my life ;-;

    3. Flux

      Flux

      I don't actually own the game (I only play with a friend of mine), so I doubt I'm very good either. I learned a few combos in practice mode, though I don't really remember any of them. But yeah, for the most part, Hakumen was the character that really stood out to me. His design is so awesome. (Arakune's pretty cool too, if a bit... weird.)

      Tomas Elliot

      I own the first two games (not the third because it was never exported to Italy <.< ) and, since I first got CT, I have tried my hands at many characters... And the ones I am good at are Noel, Nu/Lambda and specially Hazama (who is my main in CS Extend, and the character I can use the best overall). I have tried hard to learn Hakumen in all iterations of the game, but to no avail: I like him a lot but I just cannot get hit right ;-;

  11. Well we do have a Spearow, as well as something that might be considered a Mankey... Not sure about the Nidoran tho. I mean we have a plethora of Pokemon with similar characteristics, but none of them completely fits the Nidoran archetype.
  12. Despite being already skilled at this, I love going through tutorial mode in BBCS Extend not just because it nets you a trophy, but also because I love Rachel's jap voice and speech pattern <3

  13. Considering this is Reborn, I would be surprised if she hadn't.
  14. "A couple months" would be chapter 2, 3 if we are lucky, meaning that more than half of our creations won't have been revealed by that point yet. Kinda early to make a fav thread EDIT: and getting back on track, I have cycled between many Pokemon I have considered as my "fav" however a Pokemon that has remained constantly in my top 5 since the very first time it was introduced would be Wobbuffet, so yeah, special mention for that. As for the Se7en Pokemon announced this far, I would have to say #FOLD of course, however there are some I like more among the ones we haven't announced yet Oh and Bloanmega. Now that I think about it, Se7en actually would make it relatively easy to make a Dragon monorun...
  15. http://i.imgur.com/Wgw4EmI.png Shing told me to go to top 10, so I did. It's a pity, but I think this is as far as I go with the Se7en promotional team: I'd rather stop laddering now that my win streak is still intact, than be haxed all the way down...
