  1. The AI is actually not -that- difficult to edit, even for me But there's still a ton to do even with everything implemented. The AI is on the radar, but we want to get battles functional first because it's less problematic to have dumb opponents than to have a player frustrated by why the fuck didnt mienshao at 1 hp die from its life orb Not to mention battle/AI incongruity is going to lead to other silly AI problems in itself. Like, I get it. Believe me, I do, and I cringe every time a Pokemon that has an SE move for a target uses an NVE move instead, but we can't revert to E13 AI (it isn't even that structurally different from E14's though) and we need to actually make the game work before anything else.

I have not sorted out any of the shinies posted in the giant shiny thread for 5th gen so if people have previously created 5th gen shinies for consideration please migrate them here.

  6. So something not in 14.5B, I actually finished up and snuck in the custom 4th gen shiny sprites*! This way we can jump straight into 5th gen now and have it all in by the E15 release. I'll be making that topic in a few days, but in the meantime, as with the previous gen, have a peak at some of my personal favorite shinies from this round! *woobat is now a 4th gen pokemon because i'm tired of y'all posting reports about its shiny backsprite not displaying q-q On the subject of spriting, and while I've still got half-a-post's space blank, I want to make an offer to some individuals in the community. With Kurotsune and Jericho now additionally holding down the scripting-half of this operation, it's become apparent to me that the biggest remaining time-sink in terms of actual development, is making graphics. I have tried to abate this issue in relation to the bulk of spriting (see above showcase- the community has been a big help!) but with anything beyond mass recolors, taking it to the public is an impractical solution. I have in the past avoided recruiting a dedicated spriter for the team and site (that includes the sprite shop too!) because no one was really up to my standards of quality. However, as Kuro has demonstrated by example in teaching Jericho to script, that's a solvable problem. As such, as of now, I'm opening up the floor to the spriters around here. I'd like to take on one person and have them help out each week, be it on the site or the game. If anyone is interested, please send me a PM, and include some sprites you've done- preferably work from scratch, or significant edits rather than recolours. Having contributed to the shiny threads will be a plus. In return, I'll personally work closely with this person to help them improve as a spriter in any way that I'm able to. Since I am intending to help teach the person regardless, you don't need to be a perfect- or even a good spriter- to apply. While present ability will be a factor, I will ultimately choose based on who I feel will be an effective fit for the project's goals, which will require commitment, aptitude and interest before existing talent. I hope to be able to begin work with this person after next weekend (~3/9) The 5th gen shiny topic will still be open to the public regardless as normal. Thank you everyone, for your support, and to anyone who might wish to take me up on this offer.

  8. About time. So in case you've missed the dev blog post about it we've got a 14.5 update coming out. Like our past X.5 updates, this is NOT a content release (sorry). However, we had to make a number of significant changes: ORAS content Essentials v15 update Additional anti-lag map adjustments All moves/items/abilities implemented ...All of which you can read in more detail about in the dev blog forum and linked topic. In any case, some of this stuff (especially the last two bullets) can be pretty dramatic changes in which simple oversights will cause fatal crashes. Although we've already ironed out the worst, please DO NOT consider this a stable release. We will appreciate any reports of issues in it, hence the public release, but all players in 14.5 are advised to save frequently. For these reasons, this download will not be replacing the links on the main game page. Additionally: PLEASE do not save outdoors in any of the following areas before updating- You will have a bad time. Indoors is fine: Reborn City Chrysolia Forest Spinel Town Route 2 Additionally, consider visiting a Center in the update -before- using moves like Teleport. Again, please remember that this is an unstable, non-content release and adjust your expectations accordingly. The download link is below the hulking change-list. Please consider keeping your base E14 file until the E15 release, in case there are any major issues in 14.5 you need to work around. Your save file will be compatible with either version, except in cases of saving in the above-listed areas. Click here to download!

  12. That's correct. However, you can't change the weekly pattern doing that. It is the most secure way to move to different days within a week of weather though. Not that I'm encouraging this.

      I already got one! First you need to stand on a specific spot (search for it) in "Terra World" and press abbbabab on your keyboard that will teleport you to the glitch hub from there you can access the Kanto region (of gen 1) buth with Mount Silver added, after you finish the game in one session (if you save and exit it crashes) you can access the mountain and at the top (after you battle Terra again with her REAL team) she gives you a larvitar egg. Yep easy

  17. The on-site currency won't affect your game. It's only for the Site Shop and Sprite Shop, but a lot of people do enjoy those. As for changing how the moneystuff works, the problem isn't balancing it, it's coding it.

  19. yeah i oops'd. it's been fixed for 14.5 I only just started watching his revival this morning but his series of battles against Samson is pretty much on point for what I aim for when I make gym battles. It took a few tries, and he won not by grinding stuff up, but by figuring out how to play against each of Samson's things and refining his strategy a bit each time. ...granted, I... do hope for people to pay attention to what's up with the field, but... hey. He can get through those battles if he doesn't give up, and tries different things. That's generally what I expect of my players. So it's just a matter of his patience.

  22. A... text code? This is a modern thing? I'm really interested because before I started making the game I was actually writing a book about a Victorian-era circus, focusing on the PoV of the deformed kids and stuff. But... I had no idea this was still going on.
  23. it's still really pretty! fortunately i'm planning to redo my sprite with 15 (because i want my character to stand out less for how unimportant she is in-game) so hopefully that would be less crazy anyway. can I just say I adore all of the emotion everything in your art has And I'm quite frankly floored that you can do it so quickly too.
