I agree that Mega Evolutions should be differentiated from each other simply because of how competitive the Mega team slot can be. RN, the worst example of similar megas is probably Steelix and Aggron, but even then there are typings and abilities to consider. Quote

Lucario's thing is that it absolutely is a mixed attacker; it's why it's such a good wallbreaker/sweeper, much like Infernape it's incredibly unpredictable. Adaptabillity just gives too much of a boost to both ends of the spectrums, but there's not a lot of abilities that would fit it's mixed attacking prowess well. Much prefer regular Lucario's design though, same with most megas. Quote
