My name is Zach and I've been working on a fan-game called Pokémon Crystonite for about a year now. Obviously since I'm posting to the Reborn forums, my inspiration comes from both Reborn and Rejuvenation so I'd like to thank Ame and Jan for giving me the inspiration and courage to tackle my first fan-game. Below you'll find list of features and progress for this game. Story Spoiler The setting, Aurum Nation. Composed of three beautifully intertwined regions (Aurum, Asala, and Aniena) players will embark through various climates and areas such as big cities, the peaks of the coldest mountains, volcanoes, beach resorts, and beautifully crafted jungles. (The regions are set up in a way in which players can travel back and forth between them. This system is modeled after the Alola region.) The player will fight off four criminal organizations that all have one goal, destruction and the tearing down of the nation. However, there ways of achieving this goal are all unique. The organizations are as follows Team Regal- This is essentially the largest organization and the second most dangerous in the nation. They tend to focus on style and elegance but their goals are just messy. They utilize a new type and use snagging methods similar to those used un Colosseum/XD: Gale of Darkness. Spoiler The Regal Grunts: Obviously the most encountered Regal members and because of that, their fashion sense is superb. Chu and Shou are Regal's Initiatives. They do mainly fieldwork and because of that, the player will encounter them frequently throughout the story. They also will be the first to implement what appears to be one of Regal's main objectives known as plan "TRX." They are based off of the Greek myth of the Titans Prometheus and Epimetheus. Chu represents Epimetheus meaning afterthought. As a result of this, he would much rather start attacking without any strategy or set-ups on the opponent. His ace Scrafty does just that with high-risk moves like High-Jump Kick. On the other hand, Shou is based on Prometheus meaning forethought. His ace Bronzong will always take precaution before rushing into a match. ??? The Crystons- A cult of people who have passed and were given a second chance, the Crystons use religion and legendary Pokémon to do their bidding. The same way they achieved their goals in ancient times when they were the dominating force of the Aurum Nation. Spoiler Kell was once the affluent Steel-typed Gym Leader of Aurum. However, after witnessing the murder of both of his parents, he fell into a severe depression. Nothing could distract him from the pain he felt except a battle. One day, while examining his father's belongings in Tarasite Tower, a cloaked trainer appeared and demanded a battle. Kell naturally agreed as it was the only way to distract himself and was soon defeated while not being able to take down a single Pokémon. Though the battle was over, the cloaked trainer kept attacking Kell with his Metagross. Kell soon found himself plastered against the window of the 50 story building and it was a finishing Hyper Beam from that Metagross that finally did it for the glass and Kell was sent flying and was falling to his death. It was a loud smack, the type of sound where you just couldn't forget. However, it was as if not one person of the Capital City of the Asala Region had heard. Kell started to glow with energy and was soon reborn but with a slightly different appearance. Black eye orbits, purple pupils, a green scar coming from his eye, and a black cloak. This was the mark of a Cryston... The Toxic Organization- A cast of characters are apart of this group, Toxic Organization members claim they want to help the ecosystem and unpolluted the nation. This sounds sweet right, similar to to Aether Foundation perhaps? However, there is something that the player character remembers about the Toxic Organization that could change the course of the story. Spoiler Toxic Grunts Zenith is one of the three Toxic Admins. Each Admin has a role (Glamour[you'll se in V1], Magician, and Enforcer). In this case, Zenith is the Enforcer and the only Admin encountered in V 0.5. Her background is hidden throughout the story until a certain side quest is triggered later in the game that explains pretty much everything. Her ace is a Heliolisk and a very unlikely choice for a Toxic Organization member. However, it's Volt-Switch gets the job done and done well so naturally their leader wouldn't have any reservations about it. The Clown Gang- A gang of clown terrorists. You heard me. They terrorize the citizens of West Kaleo by committing street crimes such as robbing and assault. They however, take it to the next level when they discover a new move called "Anastate" which sprays a blast of anesthesia at the opponent causing both sleep and confusion. The Pokémon League Spoiler The Nation's League is composed of 19 gym leaders (one for each type and the remaining will be multi-typed) and an undisclosed number of elite members of the league (the "Elite" are trainers chosen by the champion once a year to represent the league. The champion can choose as few/many elite members as they wish. The league has had anywhere from two to ten Elites so who knows how many will be waiting at the league when the player arrives. ) Custom Music!!! Spoiler As of V 0.5, there will be one custom theme and that theme is a Gym Battle theme! I think it's amazing and I hope you all think it's as amazing as I think it is! This was composed by the ever-so talented Zumi! Feel free to give a listen and give feedback! Features/Characters Spoiler ~Four playable characters as of V1 (Hoping to have 6 by V2 adding two non-binary characters into the mix) Two dark skin and two light skin characters for V1 Spoiler Zach Liza Cameron Abigail Spoiler Rivals There are three rivals that are apart of the story. They all have their own unique personalities and are all very different from one another. Spoiler Tik Tik is an extremely ill-mannered human being. He's obnoxious and downright rude. However, he has a soft spot for his ace, Houndour. You'll begin to see a more calm side of him with these interactions. Later in the story, something tragic happens to his Houndour (at this point a Houndoom) which will set the course for most of the story. Spoiler Aidan Aidan is kindhearted and is essentially your Gym guide throughout the story. He's in charge of the Gym system and on his free time, he'll battle you! You'll encounter him and his ace, Oshawott, quite frequently. Spoiler Amethyst Yes, a slight nod at the creator of the all-time best Fan Game to exist. She'll play a MASSIVE role in the storyline of Crystonite as there is much mystery surrounding her. ~The first 3 Badges available as of Version 0.5 ~Alolan styled Trials and Kahuna fights for all three regions will be implemented in order for the player to experience a fun way to earn Z-crystals. ~Gen 3 styled graphics ~All Pokémon up to gen 7 and eventually later on ~Custom Reborn-styled field effects ~Custom trainer/VS/overworld sprites ~Custom UI ~A new type of Pokémon??? ~Custom megas (Mainly generation 4 megas) The Gym Leaders Spoiler During Version 0.5 of Pokémon Crystonite, the player will have the opportunity to earn the first 3 badges. The Gym Leaders are as follows. Spoiler Dawn Type: Ice Location: Glascious City ~"No matter what happens, we'll still press on through the blizzard."~ Dawn is the first gym leader the player will face off in battle with in Crystonite as well as the newest face to the Aurum League. She is very timid and shy due to a traumatic event she witnessed in her lifetime and spends most of her time reading books. Because of not wanting to put the book down, her battle strategy reflects her personality very well in which she has her arsenal hide behind a hailstorm during battle. Spoiler Tyson Type: Fire Location: Pyrizo City ~Truth, justice, and valor. That is the Gym Leader's code. Anyone who says otherwise is a disgrace to the title." Being a skilled and fierce battler, nothing scares Tyson in the face of battle. Tyson uses fire typed Pokémon and his signature attack, Pyro Strike, nails the opponent with a high priority and a high chance to burn as well. It's going to take some serious "brains over brawn" to overcome this battle. Spoiler Reggie Type: Posion Location: Kaleo Academy (Overlooks the Kaleo Outskirts) "The one thing I enjoy about a good battle is that it is the one thing I cannot control with my corporation." Talk about multi-taking! Headmaster of Kaleo Acadamy/President of the Aurum Pollutant Company/Gym Leader Reginald Brakowitz battles the way he would handle any student conflict or business meeting, ending it quickly and effectively. His poison-typed army does just that. Using his signature attack, Wasteland Beam (which is an extremely powerful poison attack) he gets even the toughest of jobs done. If it doesn't knock your Pokémon out, it is sure to poison you. But that poison stall also relates to Reggie's personal life. You see, under that fast paced lifestyle, lives a VERY dark secret that could possibly affect the storyline of the entire game. What that secret is though, I'm not quite sure... Overall Progress Spoiler Okay so for just a few moments, forget the progress board. It means nothing as you all can tell. A demo is coming early-mid 2019. Please be patient. I want to create the best experience possible and I have had A LOT of setbacks. Like A LOT. I am not dead. The game is not dead. This is a process. Especially as a solo developer. On top of that, I'm getting my college applications in now (I'll post where I am attending when my decision is made). All I can say at this point is have hope. There WILL be a demo. I promise. I've put way too many hours into this to just give up. Plus, I want to share the story I've created with you all. It has a lot of surprises and dark turns (some paralleling my own experiences) and I hope you all can come on this journey with me. Help is ALWAYS accepted with this project as being a solo developer and a senior in high school is hard to manage and questions WILL be answered (except "when will the game release?" and anything pertaining to specific plot points that would ultimately spoil the game.) Finally, I just want to say thank you for those of you who have followed me since I started this forum. It means a lot. Just remember to be patient. You won't be disappointed with this. Other features include... (Note that this is NOT a formal credits list but rather a preview of what to expect in the game. However, upon release a formal credits list will be provided on this forum and in the README section of the download. -Amazing remixes from GlitchxCity and other composers -Customs graphics made by moi -Other graphics by Jan and Ame (Again thank you both for the inspiration! Keep up the great work.) -And a huge thanks to Zumi, creator of Pokémon Xenogene (If you haven't already, please check out the Xenogene forum listed below) for the epic mugshots and battle sprites (and an upcoming CUSTOM GYM BATTLE THEME!!!) (NOTE ~ I had to pay out of pocket for those battle sprites and mugshots and because of that, it is not allowed to use any of the above mugshots or battle-sprites in your own fan-games unless asked permission AFTER the Crystonite release.) 9 2 Quote

Decidueye101 Posted November 12, 2017 Author Posted November 12, 2017 (edited) Thank you all for the kind words! There are a lot of reasons I didn't reveal too much story. There are ALOT of plotwists and suprises in this game so I'm trying to limit how much I give away as much as possible. As for the questions about the three regions, you'll be traveling between them throughout the story. You'll start in the southern area of Aurum and then be introduced to Asala after a horrific event plays out in the nation's capital... (This is the end of version 1 and beginning of version 2.) You'll then finish off Asala and travel back to Northern Aurum (end of V2/beginning of V3) for two more badges. Then you'll travel to the last region (Aniena) and earn up to the 18th badge (end of V3/beginning of V4). Version 4 starts with major plots unfolding as it is the final release as it will contain everything from the 19th badge to the post game. Edited November 12, 2017 by Decidueye101 Adjustments Quote
