I could not beat Amber at all as I got swept by Typhlosion's Eruption and Ninetales's Heat Wave, plus my rock type moves didn't work, but then I came on this thread and read two words "Rain Dance" and I won my first attempt after putting it on my Hariyama... Thank you all so much.

Hello everybody, I just started playing Pokemon Rejuvenation recently, and I gotta say that its really well done. I just have one problem right now, and since this is the gym leader thread it must be the right place to go to. It isn't related to the fight itself, but its still about the gym leader, so this thread seems like the right place.

Why can't I fight Keta?

I'm on version 7, in Sheridan village. I have the soul stone, but when I go up to the arena, Keta starts acting nervous and says "No... Not those again... Get them out of here! They never cease to haunt me!" And then nothing happens.
I don't think I missed anything beforehand, so I'm at a loss as to what I'm supposed to do.
I've done all the help requests in Sheridan, and I assisted Karrina in beating up the gang in Amethyst Cave. If someone knows what I missed, I would really appreciate the help.

Also, if the answer is something stupid and simple that I missed, or if this wasn't actually the proper thread to post this on, then I'm sorry for wasting people's time. I literally just joined, so I'm still learning the rules of the forum.

That seems like you're using shadow Pokemon. In Rejuvenation, you can't use Shadow Pokemon in Gym battles, so you'll have to box them or purify them first.

Terajuma island is a "point of no return" right? I'm fighting Valerie, and I cannot beat her. When I get to the Lapras, it's too fast, Milotic will probably be the same way. Faster than my Zebstrika. I had a little trouble with Lanturn, but my Roselia got a toxic up and I switched between Zebstrika and Dewgong until it's health got down. I have no options for pokemon to use against her, as I didn't know it was going to be a point of no return.

My team consists of Delphox, Dewgong, Roselia, Zebstrika, Mightyena, Altaria

all are at the level cap

Iirc the field effect lowers the speed of Pokemon that can't Levitate or aren't Flying or Water types. I believe you can catch Dustox there, it can set up a Light Screen, Valarie's Pokemon use mostly Special Attacks, so it might be worth a shot. If Nincada is still available there, catch one and get yourself a Shedinja. It can be defeated with status ailments and super-effective moves, but afaik her team doesn't have that many of those.

It is a point of no return. Also if you did the quest, you can always catch the ditto. Then train it up with audino's from the breeder (which give the right EV's btw) and copy the pkmn that gives you the best advantage like lanturn.

Your team is pretty good vs Amber tbh, just make sure you max your pokemon's level to the level cap, and it would prolly be a good idea to train the solrock fusion, its a great rock type, and im pretty sure it gets rock slide to hit both fire types at once. also rain dance is your best chance to nerf her, so give it to multiple mons and keep the rain up. Train with the breeder downstiars, it shouldnt take long.

Are there some particular Pokemon in Ericks's team that give you trouble? I'd say lead with Grass-type, iirc his Rotom doesn't have super-effective moves against Grass. You should save Camerupt for later, after his Ampharos has been dealt with - since it's a Mega, it gains Fairy, Dragon and Ice weaknesses. You can obtain either Tyrantrum or Aurorus from the Museum in West Gearen. Light Screen is a good move to use there, since most Electric-types tend to be special attack-oriented. Aurorus happens to learn Light Screen.

Well, my own strategy against Narcissa was not to use Dark-types, but to paralyze all of her Pokemon and use Hex on them later. There can be other ways to beat her, of course, but I'll likely think the most about this one when giving suggestions... So yeah, I'll be just praying the move Hex from now on :]

Of the Pokemon you have on your team, the best choices to bring against Narcissa would most likely be Chesnaught, Garbodor and Dusclops:

  • Chesnaught with Bulletproof is essentially immune to Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb (so it makes Gengar almost useless); the problem is that it can't do much damage in return - as such, you can try to stall Gengar and wear it down slowly. Leech seed could have helped...
  • Garbodor can poison some of Narcissa's Pokemon either with Toxic or Toxic Spikes - so a good strategy could be to lead with it and use toxic spikes, then switch out in order to use Toxic on all of the Pokemon that have Levitate as they are sent out.
  • Dusclops should learn Hex at level 40: that is a fantastic move to use in this gym as it's boosted by the field, is super effective against all Pokemon bar Spiritomb, and has a great 130 Power (not counting Stab) on statused enemy Pokemon. But the best part is, that Garbodor is here just for that!

About the rest of the team... Swoobat is at a type disadvantage; Ambipom has nothing to hit Ghost-types while they do, thanks to the field; Torkoal and Seismitoad can still be used to dish out some damage, but won't probably last that long; and Forretress still can't do much offensively, like Chesnaught.

Here there are also some other Pokemon suggestions:

  • If Dusclops doesn't hit hard enough, you can still use some other Ghost-type Pokemon like Yamask. It's found right inside Narcissa's Gym. Cofagrigus has a way better Special Attack than Dusclops (base 95 rather than base 60), learns Will-o-wisp and Ominous Wind (which has a higher chance of raising the user's stats, if I remember correctly), and evolves at level 34 from Yamask. If they are available, try to get one at level 32 so that it still knows Hex.
Its ability, Mummy, may become useful against certain physical attackers (Medicham for example), and is about as bulky as Dusclops, at least from the Special side.
  • Both Cofagrigus and Dusclops are still very slow and will inevitably take a lot of damage: to outspeed Narcissa's Pokemon, the best Pokemon to use is probably Misdreavus. It's obtainable in Gearen City at the start of the game - this means that you can only get it at level 7 and then train it until it gets to about level 40 - and it's another Pokemon that can use Hex. While not as resilient as the other ghost-types, it's a lot faster and has some reasonable Special Attack. It can also evolve into Mismagius right before Narcissa, however, it's better to wait until it learns moves like Shadow Ball (level 41) and, if you want, Perish Song (level 46).
  • If the problem is that Narcissa's Pokemon are too fast, you could paralyze them (with Thunder Wave) rather than poisoning them, with electric types such as Zebstrika and Manectric (Electrike is now available in Chrysolia Hotel; Blitzle is in Amethyst Grotto). These Pokemon can also be useful to take care of Drifblim - although it may carry a Berry to weaken Electric-type attacks; I don't know if that happens only on Intense difficulty.
After that, you can hopefully switch to your Ghost-type and use Hex, which will do a lot of damage (my Impish [hinders Special Attack] Misdreavus knocked out in one hit Gengar, Chandelure, and Mismagius)

  • Dark-type Pokemon resist Ghost-type attacks, but thanks to the field, can't do much damage in return, and as such I'd suggest to use them only on Defensive teams.

Well, I hope I was helpful :)

i beat narcissa with 2 pokemon, sawsbuck and pyroar

first teach sawsbuck flash which you get from the casino

using flash will change the field in blessed field, and in blessed field normal type hits ghosts type for super effective damage

then use take down. after sawsbuck faints send in pyroar and spam only echoed voice, echoed voice becomes stronger if you use them consecutively,

of course you can bring more pokemon for back up, but make sure theyre all normal type, because that way she wont use any ghost type move to change the field back to haunted house

This is all a matter of AI, right?

I was, in fact, able to turn a Blessed field into a haunted one by using Ominous wind on a Normal-type Pokemon (this was against Marianette). Also, if I remember correctly, Ghost-type moves used in a Haunted field can hit normal-types. So I don't see why Narcissa wouldn't use them...

no if you use flash first then it would be turned into blessed field

,she wont use ghosts move against normal types in a blessed field, she will use ghost moves against other types

so this tactics only works only use an all normal type team

Your team has a pretty good shot at this gym, if you have the TM Rain Dance you should probably teach it to Greninja. It'll help get rid of her field effect and it'll change the weather in your favor. I'd say get rid of Hydro Pump, just becuase Surf has more PP and is more reliable. Also if you have a spare ability capsule (save first), use it on Hariyama so you can get the thik fat ability, which will help you eat up her fire type attacks. A nice lead off combo could be Greninja and Noivern, since they both resist fire and Noivern resist Surf. Dont really remember Amber's 2 leadoff mons, but I hoped this helped. Also if you can try to get rain dance on as many pokes as possible without ruining their moveset, it could go a long way. And try to replace your bug and grass type with pokemon that can actually assist you with this gym, like a rock, ground, or more water types.
