I read somewhere else in the forum to get a wooper and evolve it into a quagsire on route 3, but I'm stranded on that island and have no idea how to get back to the mainland.
Please help! She keeps ice beaming me and her tidal wave move is crazy strong! It has one hit KO'ed my dedenne, zebstrika, and nuzleaf.
Thanks!

well you have good pokemon to take val on. Any reasons why you wont evolve Drowzee, Hypno is bulkier. drop Dedenne, I dont think its gonna be too useful, since it doesnt have nuzzle (auto paralyze move). Whirlpool is extremely broken on Valarie's field (it has boosted power and it confuses the pokemon), so if Floatzel still has it, add it to the team, if not forget it. Find a dustox on the island grass, it has light screen and toxic, its good for eating hits and wearing pokemon down.If you have light clay then great. Pretty much set up light screen, stauts everything, and hit with super effective attacks and GG. good luck

So I've been stuck on Narcissa for...uhh...the game files say December...

I feel bad asking, but at the same time I have a mighty desire to see the rest of the game, y'know?

Here's my team:

Impish Typhlosion -lvl 39 (Chakotay)M

Blaze w/ Quick Claw

-Flame Wheel

-Flame Charge

-Rock Smash

-Ember

Bold Seismetoad - lvl 39 (Casta)F

Poison Touch w/ no item

-Rain Dance

-Flail

-Mud Shot

-Muddy Water

((*Thinks will be good vs. Chandelure* *NOPE* *remembers obvious*))

Calm Bonsly - lvl 40 (Alice)F

Sturdy w/ no item

-Rock Slide

-Rock Tomb

-Counter

-Sucker Punch

((hmm...I have v6 right now...Unless v7 added a local move tutor, I'm out of luck for a Sudowoodo :( ))

Impish Dusclops - lvl 40 (Aya)F

Frisk w/ no item

-Will-o-wisp

-Night Shade

-Pursuit

-Shadow Punch

Bold Vivillon - lvl 38 (Luca)F

Friend Guard w/ TwistedSpoon

-Draining Kiss

-Supersonic

-Bug Buzz

-Psybeam

((haven't been using her that much, for p obvious reasons))

Naive Arbok - lvl 39 (Paris)M

Unnerve w/ Poison Guard

-Mud Bomb

-Glare

-Screech

-Crunch

I've also leveled up a Phantump (that I can't evolve) and a Cofagrigus to level 39. Both have Will-O-Wisp and Curse.

As for other dark types in my PC, I have a Poochyena, Houndour, Nuzleaf, and Pancham, but they're p low level (7, 15, 15 and 19, respectively) I've never had any luck with using Dark moves anyway, because of the field effect - a clean 2hko doesn't mean jack when any one one of Narcissa's mons can 1hko - which is why Paris's been sitting in the PC lately too.

Honestly, it's been so long I don't remember if there's anything I could go back to get that would help. Idek if the about 23k Poke I have is a lot for my place in Rejuv. I have a few Reverse Candies, a water and thunder stone, and I still have my Time Flute, if that helps.

Does Rejuv have a Link Stone equivalent, I wonder...

(My usual strategy: I've been trying to prey on the secondary type.

-I try to take out Drifblim w/ Bonsly's rock moves, Drifblim usually outspeeds and can survive more than 2 Rock Slides unless crit, while Ghostly Wail can 2hko at times. Best case scenario: Bonsly survives w/ <10 HP

-I can usually curse-kill Chandelure, Seismitoad can take Rotom with some time, Spiritomb semi-reliably falls to Will-o-Wisp Dusclops

-Mismagius outspeeds all of my mons and its Ghostly Wail can 1hko any of my team (I haven't checked for Arbok, though, I can only assume)

-I've never seen her last Pokemon.)

I'm crazy appreciative of any help I can get!

If you get a Woobat, you can easily cheese Narcissa. Get a Woobat with Simple, Flash. Calm Mind, Psychic, and Air Slash (I think you can get these moves by the level cap. If not, just replace with the weaker variants, Confusion and Air Cutter). Spam Flash until the Driftblim's accuracy is low enough, and also turns the field into a Blessed Field, which lowers Ghostly Wail's power. Spam it enough so it's consistently missing, and start setting up Calm Minds until you get to +6. Kill the Driftblim, and once another one of her special attackers comes out (Gengar, Mismagius, Chandelure) use Flash if needed to get the Blessed Field. You should easily sweep her team (maybe not Dusclops).

i should really be worried about the leaders everyone actually says are hard.

but tonight im celebrating

say the word, I owe you a major solid my friend

And maybe this helpful hint will help others hmm *hintity hint*

Long story short, the Swoobat technique helps. A lot. I found Flash at the Gearen Hotel Casino.

Time spent getting my rear kicked at the gym: 7 months

Time leveling up a lvl 11 Woobat: 3 hours

Steps taken to get it to max friendship: infinity

Games lost to Voltorb Minesweeper: Infinity and six

1hko-ing every single one of Narcissa's team with Air Cutter: PRICELESS

Edit: forgot the spoiler tags, I apologies.

Get rid of whril pool or Aqua tail on Floatzel and teach it rain dance, you should have that tm. If it has swift swim then that's great, if not use an ability capsule if you want. it'll outspeed everything and do big damage with surf. If you have a water boosting item or a damp rock give it to floatzel as well. Lead with that and your Noivern and spam Hurricane lol. Should be a good lead combo, it would be better if you had another water type tho, having rain dance on multiple pokemon will help you a lot in this battle, because you have to neutralize her OP field effects. Try switching up your mons too, if you notice that a specific pokemon is uselss replace it with a pokemon useful for the gym like a water or rock type. hope this helps

I hope you're down for some team reconstruction, cuz this aint enough to beat amber. First I'd suggest that you drop some of you're least favorite pokemon on your team, if I were you I'd pretty much drop everything except Blaziken and Golurk, I know it seems a bit much but when you're entering the next stage of this game, you'll need better pokemon. Look over the location gudie and find some nice strong water pokemon you want, something like Ludicolo, Gastrodon, Quagsire, or whatever water pokemon you get from the Akora Shore sidequest (its supposed to be a oshawott, but I heard it got replaced with a totodile). Also I suggest you get your mystery egg, there's a pretty good chance you'll find something useful for your team. You need to catch a phantump and trade it for an egg on the route right before Goldenleaf town. Then from there, just find stong pokemon you like, and stuff that'll be useful for this gym. Setting up rain dance frequently and having strong pokemon are pretty much the key to beating this gym

trying to lvl a staryu and a growlithe right now. golurk dies pretty fast no? it seems like the speed is unreall for her pokemon(they always go first no matter what pokemon i have). so my new team will be blaziken, girafarig, growlithe(or evolution i guess) staryu(or evoltuion i guess) , dedenne( for that thunder memes) and swoobat or growlithe.

edit: also i never got rain dance, feelsbadman

I dont know if you can still get a fennekin in v7/8 but if u can, Her final evolution allow her to learn rain dance too. Any pokmeon that can learn rain dance is a must for Amber. Although her Charizard did give me a run for my money at the end.

You get rain dance tm from Valerie if you defeated all the Deoxys from the event.

I'm extremely stuck on Angie. Probably gonna need a team overhaul (sadly, liked to keep it as 1 team trying to strategy/hax thru it but this ain't happening) so I'm not gonna post sets, basically 4/6 my team is weak to ice and gets OHKO'ed. Any useful Pokemon suggestions? The only strong Poke I have against her (that's trained up) is Torkoal. Even then still seems way too frail and does no damage until the ice is removed.

Yeah, Fire-type damage is severely weakened. You'll have to rely on Fighting, Steel or Rock-type damage for this one.

If you can, I'd suggest getting a Barbaracle with Tough Claws. You should have access to Tesla's Yacht in Teila Resort to go back to Gearen City. From there, head on over to Akuwa Town, down to the beach and Surf to the right until you reach an island called Akora Shore (you should see someone stranded in a small patch of land in the water saying that they mistakenly traded away their only Pokemon that could Surf). There are a few stones that you can Rock Smash. There, you can find Binacles.

When you start the fight against Angie, lead with Barbaracle and set up with Shell Smash. Barbaracle's innate bulkiness should let him survive atleast one turn against Angie's Weavile. From there, just use Cross Chop, Razor Shell and Stone Edge to whatever Angie brings out to make her cry.

Alternatively, if you already have a Fighting-type with you, or a strong physical attacker, you can use your Stacking Shot TM on them. The field will increase their speed by one stage with each use. Just beware of Angie's Frosslass and Mamoswine, as the former is immune and the latter is extremely bulky.

for Angie i recommend going with the mawhile you get form augistine and you can also make use of that torkol still get them both to about 51 start of with the mawhile simply because of weviles beat up that can destroy most of your team plus if you do survive it has the added bonus of flinching you

what i would like to know is what team you have and boxed mon's that way we can help you further.

that mawhile and torkol were instrumental for me beating Angie in both my playthrough's

if i remember correctly my team for Angie was something like this

torkol

Mawhile

floatzal

Manectric

Charizard

Mightyena

all of them were between level 50 and 55

not sure it this was removed in E8 but heat wave removes Angie's field,

Alright, thanks for the help guys. Will grab Barbaracle, train up the Mawile, and I'll probably train up a Toxicroak or something while I'm at it. And yeah, heat wave changes the ice field to dark field.

If you wanna annihalate Angie, find a sweeper with resistance to dark; Fire isn't necessary, you can also settle for steel or fighting. Blaziken is obviously the strongest in this category.

The, put Stacking Shot on them, the TM you get from the fighting gym. If you aren't shut down after your third strike, its over; you will breeze through their entire team. The main problem here will be finding a decent fighting sweeper since hawlucha, Sawk and Mienfoo are all still unobtainable. The only issue that will pop up here will be her Glalie. Just try to take a pokemon with resistance to dark and use bulk-up to your hearts content untill you feel safe starting your sweep; if you have a pokemon with remotely decent defense the beat up of weaville will hardly make a dent.

If there are any specific pokemon giving you a hard time remember that you can always use the nuclear solution on literally any strong pokemon that isn't ghost type by taking a Golem/Gigalith with sturdy and explosion and just have him take one for the team. It is a life saver in hard battles
