  1. Having worked in a coffeeshop and going into the medical field, coffee is terrible for you. I still drink it though, and nearly had a heart attack during an exam today. It's good in moderation, but like alcohol, don't drink a ton of it and rely on it. Water and fruit works better, apples especially. Apples actually do a better job of waking you up than coffee.
  2. today I learned the syllabus lied
  3. TFW you thought you weren't going to pass an exam but you did
  4. tfw your crippling depression returns
  5. TSA is always like that, at least from my experience considering majority of the airports I use are either in/near NYC, or are just huge airports in general. However, they do have some asinine rules, like tweezers are banned from planes. How can you hijack a plane with tweezers? Depending on surgeries, things can appear on a scanner. Things like surgery for scoliosis or ACL surgery can often trigger this. As a precautionary measure, my family brings some medical documentation to prove that we had surgery. Needless to say, you can still be pat down. I used to be braced for scoliosis, and my brace triggered the alarms and they made me take it off (keep in mind that the purpose of a brace is to realign your spine to prevent the curvature of your spine from progressing to a larger curve, so seeing as it's compressing your spine and abdomen, you cannot fit anything.) and I was told to take it off and pat down half-naked by some older men, when I was fourteen. A little over the top. Depending on the contents of the bottle, it can be confiscated, and I think by certain company standards, opened. I remember it cannot exceed a certain amount of ounces, and certain ingredients and solutions are not permitted on airlines. There have been few cases of bombs and the like, but I remember hearing years ago about the underwear bomb guy, and people shoving things up their rectums/vaginal canals. The things people keep in their bodily orifices are usually drugs, and not bombs. About the bag, I don't even think a complaint will help, as certain airports have different rules and regulations and odds are it will be brushed under the rug. What I find weird is bag checks are usually done by a machine, and you are told to remove things like keys, phones, stuff that would trigger it. And to Red Chaos, was it a decorative sword? You can't really hurt someone with a decorative sword, and I think depending on the size and kind, it's limited how it can go back to the country. I'm trying to remember, I had traveled through Europe in high school and brought back a decorative dagger, and there was some special way we had to transport it back, I don't remember. I would think that someone in an airport would be able to distinguish between a decorative weapon for display, and something authentic. Eep, sorry for talking so much! But sadly, as annoying as the TSA is, there isn't much we can really do other than tolerate it.
  6. I meant Shelly had a type advantage over Fern, because grass is weak to bug, but he called her a pushover I don't remember where it was stated that grass types were a tradition, I think it was around the school? Eviolite too! Whenever Scyther becomes available I want to slap one on it. Ame, I think link stones would be the best evolutionary item to make slightly more available, as so many pokemon evolve through trading. Also, items like dragon scale that have a very low rate on pokemon. I spent 3-4 hours using thief on horsea before I finally found a dragon scale. I never want to see a remoraid again.
  7. Ah, makes sense! Although, I'm just putting this out there and it seems unlikely, but in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean mythology, the moon is represented by a rabbit with a mortar and pestle. Doesn't fit with the names though, and werewolves as mentioned by others, are associated with the moon. We might see some pokemon based on these concepts. The phoenix and three-legged bird are also associated with the sun, however seeing as we have Ho-oh which is definitely based on a phoenix, and Moltres, who shares traits of a phoenix. We also just got Talonflame, and I don't think we're due for another firebird anytime soon. The three-legged bird is based on a crow, however, but seeing as Lunaala has the "ala" in its name, seems unlikely unless they wanted to switch it up, which also seems unlikely. I'm trying to figure out the logos too and how they might fit into the design. But, speaking of shark, I think of the basking shark, like "basking in the sun" Could be a cool play on words Brim and End are also translations of Ala. Perhaps in reference to an eclipse or how the moon has cycles? Brim refers to brim of a hat, and looking at Moon's logo, the "wings" kind of look like the brim of a hat. I don't think it's a hat pokemon though haha End refers to football though (I'm assuming they mean soccer?) But if this is a spanish region, it could be a play on words, seeing as soccer is super popular in Europe, Spain especially I would love a moon sheep though! It fits in with the whole "counting sheep" thing On a side note, I would love zodiac pokemon!
  8. It was stated in-game that it's a family tradition to use all grass types. Fern also changes up, as he had to because Aya had a type advantage over him (Shelly did too, but bug types are generally worse off in stats than poison type, and have more weaknesses) All of this talk about Fern's insecurity has me thinking way back to when you were on your way to fighting Florinia. Fern locks you out of one side of the gym, and when you make it to the door before Florinia, he still has to try to stop you by battling you. I personally think this is a pride for himself, maybe familial too. I interpreted this as Fern just has a grudge or dissent for the player, and is basically a bully. Initially I thought he just targeted the player, because they saw him look like a fool in front of the old factory because he got the wrong location. But the way he treats Aya is uncalled for as well. I can understand Hardy, since there might be something that happened between them in the past, or perhaps it has something to do with Florinia and Titania. Why do you think he targets the player? If it was out of jealousy, he wouldn't have been rude initially, because we were budding trainers and had no significant successes prior to meeting him.
  9. I'm not a fan of let's players at all really. I only watch Vinesauce, Retsupurae (back when they did stuff), and Cr1tikal I'd have to say Retsupurae's voiceover longplay of King's Quest V, although the Darkseed I + II are good too Joel's Facade video was a legend when i was like 15
  10. It's possible though, like how rival teams change on your starter. The pokemon could depend on the protags gender. Do you code from scratch, like are some things codes you did yourself? I'm trying to think of how to say this (pardon if it's confusing, I'm confusing myself) But like, if you want to put in contests and there isn't an available source code for it, how do you go about that? Do you edit codes you already have or make it from scratch? (If these make no sense, I have no coding experience so I don't know how to word things) You guys have a lot of interesting stuff in reborn that I haven't seen in pokemon games previously, like field effects. You guys have put a lot of work into this game and it really shows.
  11. There's still plenty of puns and creatures and concepts that they can make pokemon from though. Just because they have made redundant pokemon prior, doesn't make it so they can keep doing it. I understand concepts will overlap of course, but let's hope they start breaking trends. Also, what do if Fire/Fighting again?
  12. Will Shelly ever name a pokemon after the player? (Could change on gender, and for NB protags Shedinja could be used) Will we ever see Bugsy, whether it be for interaction between he and Shelly or otherwise? What programs are used for animation, or are the images static and animated in RMXP? What programs are used for the music composed? Do you think a person could make a pokemon fangame/romhack as elaborate as this alone? I guess is really depends on circumstances like school/work/family/emergencies/etc
  13. You brought up a lot of good points, and I just remembered something. Remember when we first meet Hardy, how Fern states Hardy is "Jealous because I was top of the class, and Hardy was just some goof" (Not exact wording, but something like that) While Florinia is older, she is also significantly smarter, since she is the headmaster. But, something even more important, is that Fern and Hardy both state their sisters "used to be friends" Which we obviously know, seeing that Julia, Florinia, Amaria, and Titania all roomed together throughout school. But now, there's a divide. Florinia prefers isolation, but will hang around Julia, and Amaria was in a one-sided relationship with Titania. I have a feeling this is very important information, and that something happened between Titania and Florinia. Maybe there was a love triangle, or Florinia knew Titania didn't love Amaria and didn't approve of it? Seems unlikely to me though, which I'll get to why. As far as we know there was nothing noticeably physical, as neither Florinia nor Titania had physical injuries or disabilities that would be acquired through bodily trauma. Seems like Florinia has some PTSD or something from a traumatic event that happened between them, as shutting down and "feeling no emotions" is her way of coping, or appearing to cope. Also, I think Fern only said that as part of the hostage act. The only interaction we see between Titania and Florinia is in the mansion. Florinia is analyzing the structure, pointing out entrance points where team meteor can break in. She talks like a robot, as usual, then Titania says something crucial "You ever gonna stop talking like that? It's been how many years and you're still overreacting?" Which shows a correlation between Florinia's shutdown, and something that happened with Titania.
  14. 1. Sun and Moon, obviously Apps are just things you use when you're away from home trying to pass time, like waiting for food to come or waiting in a doctor's office. Pokemon Go looks really choppy so far, and there's not much to it besides catching pokemon and battling. I'd prefer a game with a storyline and captivating characters. I like breeding pokemon and exploring, and all of the fun post game stuff and side activities.
  15. I just really love Scyther and I wish it had a more draconic looking evolution, because scyther looks draconic/reptillian a bit. We do need more ghost types, but I think the reason why there are so few is because in reality, ghosts are hard to come by/contact. And we have a lot of water pokemon because majority of the earth is water, I think. I've been thinking of potential pokemon, ghost types especially, and I had the same idea! Like, something goes wrong in the revival/restoration process and it's stuck in some like...inbetween stage? It could be called the purgatory pokemon or something haha A steel type eeveelution would be cool! For some reason I imagine it having ornaments on it kinda like Dialga. A poison or steel eevee would go well and complement Sylveon. I think it was weird to have only one eeveelution released in gen vi, as it started with a trio, and then there were two more pairs released. I wonder about the stat distributions though, how many different combinations can we have, will there eventually be two eeveelutions with the same stats? ok let me do math I'm trying to remember how to do combinatorics...it wouldn't be 6^2 right? Which gives us 36, but that is how you calculate probability I think. Because six stats and six possibilities to fill each stat...wait, we can't have repetition Or would it be 6!, which is 720 or 6^6, which is an insane 46,656 Statistics is confusing, but whichever answer was right (if either happen to be), there are plenty of combinations A big number in pokemon shouldn't be surprising, I mean look at the spinda variations (excluding shiny) and that crazy large amount of damage a shuckle can do under specific conditions Edit: While it's likely those names are pokemon legendaries, given the names, serebii states that a lawyer trademarked the names, instead of nintendo/gamefreak. Also, this reminds me of that one leak The legendary on this leak looks like it would fit with the Solgaleo name. However, these are not confirmed and are only leaks, and I hope they're fake because we already have a grass goat, a water crocodile (it also looks like sandile) and we also have plenty of bear pokemon This leak also has no source to my knowledge
  16. OH SHOOT I completely misread everything I apologize aaa, if I could delete the post I would, I'm SUPER sorry holy cow! I'll just edit it oops But anyway, I do like the charizard you did! I don't have the words or ability to form concrete sentences to describe it, but the wispy look of it is quite alluring!
  17. I have to disagree, I feel like Fern would continue to be an elitist jerk. I can't see him begging for his life. I don't know what happens in the jungle when you're in the nuzleaf trap if you beg for your life. I'm assuming he doesn't let you and and laughs at you, just seems like the kind of guy he is. I don't see any sort of redemption arc or change of heart for him, he just seems like that kind of person.
  18. I always thought those were just nods to how you battled. I understand some choices and actions will have dire consequences (I won't state, because the best example I can think of happens in either ep 14 or ep 15, so I'm not going to give out spoilers) I will say why I think the fire was a little more than a "Oh you changed the field" Spoiler warning I guess
  19. I want more ghost types, and pokemon based on cryptids! I also want a ghost type eeveelution, and bug type too! And an orchid mantis scyther evo, because scizor was a hugee disappointment to me and I personally feel that scyther deserves better. Also, the only type of gym we haven't had yet is a dark type gym. I'm hoping we break that this gen.
  20. I do agree with both sides. If it's a post about information from an older episode, odds are it's changed a bit, such as with how some of the event pokemon and the like have changed. However, in a general topic, I believe necroing should be alright. Sometimes a topic is just shoved pages behind, and if it's revived it'll be active again (aside from the reviving post) Actually, from my forum experience (on all of the forums I've been on), the staff was very good with the upkeep. I know a forum that locked threads when they hit the 30 day mark, and then within a week or two the thread was gone (probably moved to some cache or something, I'm not sure if you can delete threads) Another forum was extremely organized, and moved threads that were inactive or just old news into this archive section, actually many of the sections had an archive. Also, some people don't have good attention spans or are impulsive (especially those with learning disabilities, neurodevelopmental disabilities, or psychiatric illnesses) and tend to not notice things such as a post date, I could delve further into this topic but I feel it would be a digression. I think locking would be the best preventative measure, and an archive or something would also be a good idea.
  21. I would be a shapeshifter, be able to shapeshift into any nonhuman creature, fictional or real Weakness would be being touched by a human. If I was a dragon or something, no doubt people would try to catch me and I'd have the FBI sedate me with a large amount of horse tranquilizers and probably kill me from overdose.
  22. I want to say none of it because history was unforgiving and we've progressed in a lot of ways as a species but this is macabre and purely because of my interest in medicine, it's progression, and the human psyche but, the black plague era. Or, since I want to be a psychiatric nurse, I would like to observe the conditions of psychiatric institutions in the 19th century, as well as try to help the poor patients if I could. I could write a paper on abuse in nursing and how power corrupts, like the Stanford Prison Experiment. What career did you/are you going to pursue, and why?
