  1. Because she's a 12-year-old child who witnessed a suicide regardless of who it is and as it happens, it wasn't just someone random, it was her best friend's father so she had that to be concerned about as well after we deliver that message from Anna. She undoubtedly was traumatized as we see her break down and cry multiple times. That doesn't add up. We see her upset about losing her spot in the Belrose family gym in Calcenon, that's when she runs off. This suggests that two different stories were told to both Laura and Ame, Laura that she was fired and Ame that Laura had resigned. That's how I understood it anyway. That's a valid point. Although I never understood how bugs could be good enough for the Elite 4, Shelly and Bennett are the first bug type trainers in any class and in any game who have truly given them strength. I remember fighting the Bug elite 4 member in Pearl being a huge joke because I swept them with my Infernape alone. Yes! It is quite strange that Victoria didn't think to report Corey's suicide to Ame right away while it was pretty much the first thing she did after Kiki's death. Sending us to do it certainly would have been the easiest way to delay our battle with Shelly (and would have saved us from having to deal with Fern). Much easier and gentler than battling us herself to wear us down. I suppose it can be attributed to a mother bear instinct though can that logic be applied to Kiki as well as she is not a child?
  2. I've been watching Shofu among other YTbers and just a bit ago as he's progressing through the orphanage siege, some thoughts occurred to me. Was Victoria right? Did we need to battle Shelly? Considering how traumatized she was by Corey's suicide I'm suddenly wondering, for something so serious couldn't the reserve gym leader have temporarily stood in for her while she took a hiatus to recover without denying challengers? Obviously, Shelly would have rejected the suggestion and Victoria would still end up having to battle the player as an attempted block but considering her almost maternal concern for Shelly, I'm a bit surprised that she didn't at least consider putting it out there. Who is the reserve bug gym leader? Was it that spoiled, selfish, creeper Bennett before El cheated him on to the Elite 4? No, couldn't be. His original goal was to become a gym leader before El showed up with the better offer. It's a bit of a shame. A borderline sociopathic gym leader would have been fantastically unique though we do have Fern who could be a psychopathic reserve gym leader. As is a corrupt Elite 4 even if it does taint the champion title a bit to defeat at least one phony. Considering what happened with Laura and Bennett I wouldn't be surprised if more members of the Elite 4 were cheated into their places behind poor Ame's back. Though I don't understand how Laura's hand writing in her supposed resignation letter was forged so flawlessly that it wouldn't show up anything out of place in a comparison. Certainly Ame wouldn't be so careless as to not do or order a handwriting analysis check. Convenient too that Ame was killed just after this and made out to have resigned as Champion. Are the Meteors and the Arceus Church/Cult working together? They seem to have a similar goal to wipe out Reborn and rebirth it "cleansed". I feel so bad for Laura, she was so upset to lose her place in the Elite 4, I hope she's able to regain it. Considering the gyms, I'm a bit scared of the Elite 4 regardless of who they are.
  3. Here is what worked for me. Lead with an Alolan Persian that knows Fake Out and Taunt and something with a strong dark move, in my case it was a Drapion with Crunch. Fake Out Reuniclus and then take it out with the strong dark move to prevent the use of Trick Room. Use a flying type with Brave Bird to get rid of Galade. Taunt was for Slowking his other Trick Room user but I've been told that in the most recent update 18.2, it can no longer be Taunted as it's holding a Synthetic Seed which applies a Magic Coat for 5 turns. Well played Ame! You'll have to repeat the Fake Out routine or perhaps switch and Taunt Reuniclus instead and use an electric type preferably with Volt Tackle or Zap Cannon to get rid of it. Though I ended up finishing it off with a Crunch. Use a Fairy type with Moonblast to one-shot Malamar, a fire type with Flamethrower and a Flame Plate is the answer to Metagross and Cross Poison for Gossip Gardevior. Drapion was my MVP here.
  4. Once you get to the Lapis Ward, the Rose Incense can also be purchased from the flower shop.
  5. Ah some part of me was skeptical that it was a PULSE readout but I've not known anything else to be presented as a white/silver Pokeball. Thanx for the 411. I've already donated to Azurine and it wouldn't allow me to donate to another project directly after so it seems I have to wait until I get my next badge.
  6. Ironically, I JUST started watching Shofu though I still haven't finished Dai Laughing. I'll be getting back to him as well. IA, the confusion and struggle is understandable. This is legit probably the most difficult puzzle in the entire game thus far. I had trouble figuring it out as well at first. I ended up needing to YT it and I never managed to get through an entire room with zero damage no matter how slowly and carefully I toggled the tiles. I even had to go back to the healing room at least a couple of times including before Zel and in between Zel attempts. The fact that there is a single healing shard in all three or four rooms in the middle of the puzzle rather than at the end of the puzzle in each room is some BS logic. There are also TWO senselessly placed PULSE readouts. One in an inaccessible corner right inside the entrance from the rail net and one in the middle of another puzzle. I couldn't even figure out how to reach the latter and didn't put a whole lot of effort into it due to the circumstances. I kinda hate that I'm missing those PULSE readouts, I'm a bit of a completionist. I'm torn myself. A part of me feels roid raging it was a cheat, but the other remembers how effing hard DJ Lancerock was even with an effing Ryperior and believes the tactic was better used on him than in the boss battle against Zel. Against Zel, it'd be more of a cheat. I didn't notice how many X items he had and if he has enough to repeat it. IKR! Same here. I am starting to get anxious to see him get to the scene that shall not be named and it was so frustrating that he ended this ep literally RIGHT BEFORE IT! That's the exact reaction I'm expecting as well. I'm a bit surprised he went on the 'I quit' rampage NOW before that scene.
  7. Insurgence is one that has Nuzlocke mode option but what exactly does a Nuzlocke mode option provide since most if not all the basic rules can't be imposed via coding? I imagine all it can do is erase revival items from availability and prevent the nurse from being able to heal fainted Pokemon but is that really necessary? To not follow the fainting rule is to defeat the point.
  8. Nuzlocking this game is strongly ill-advised but if you must attempt it than please be sure you are familiar and comfortable with the mechanics. The basic Nuzlocke rules are as follows: - You may only capture the first Pokemon encountered in each separate area of the game. Statics/ NPC gifts are more of a gray area. I have seen Nuzlockers count them as separate from their area encounters so I believe that is acceptable. Exception permitted for shinies. Any shiny encounter is legal. If an encounter faints (including via a self-fainting move such as Explosion) or flees it still counts and unfortunately you lose out in the area. No second chances. - All Pokemon MUST be nicknamed for sentimental value. Or something or other. - When a Pokemon faints, it's considered 'dead' and must either be released or permanently boxed. I've been told that the original rules used to require releasing exclusively but that's pretty much been phased out. - You are NOT allowed duplicate Pokemon even if the first one is dead. This includes the Pokemon's entire evolutionary line even if you've only ever used one member. i.e If you caught an Ursaring in one area, you are NOT allowed a Teddiursa in another. This is the exception to the first encounter rule. You are permitted multiple encounters if the first is a dupe. EDIT: I've been informed that this rule is optional but all YTers I've watched use it. - If you black out it's game over with the exception of the first rival battle (in Reborn the first two) as a Nuzlocke doesn't officially begin until you first receive Pokeballs or access to them and the first rival battle occurs before.
  9. So once I donate I'd still need to beat Titania (my next gym leader battle) before Bulbasaur is available to me? That's reasonable, a Venusaur would do me little good against steel types anyway and I have Chesnaught (a shiny one ) which is part fighting so better suited. Ooh, color me intrigued. I'll be sure to complete that quest. In fact I already have two spare Poppilo eggs and a spare Chespin egg from previous breeding! I'll have to remove them from my shared box now. I don't even know if I'll ever want to start a new file. Correct and to get Ditto to appear among the Pokemon in Blacksteam Factory you have to have saved the daycare couple and there is a certain Meteor grunt you have to talk to I believe. I neglected the latter out of ignorance. So like Ttar I had to buy the Ditto on 7th Street.
  10. Of course, that's the sensible thing. The Ame thing. How do I donate to the restoration project? Impossible. As Sho said, the 7th Street Ditto is the only one in this game. There are two opportunities to obtain it but it's the same one both times and Ttar missed the first. Multiples must be obtained through trading which Ttar doesn't do in his YT playthroughs.
  11. Indeed, my thoughts exactly and Bulbasuar on Azurine Island? Damn, I shoulda been all over that before I fought Adrienn but I just beat xem so it's all good.
  12. I respectfully disagree. Without a list, one would have to talk to every single NPC in Reborn City as literally any 15 of them apart from the battlers in the Grand Hall could have qualified and again, knowing him, it wouldn't surprise me if the logic escaped him and he searched outside of Reborn City as well just as he searched for some of the missing furniture outside Spinal Town. We don't know that from his perspective and he's shown himself to be something of a completionist just to see what rewards it entails. He's done every single side quest in the game so far I believe. He found all the police officers even though he needed prompting from the viewers to do so and has done all the sticker quests while 75% of the time not even knowing what the stickers were for. So I feel it quite plausible that he could search for all 15 volunteers. This point I agree with. If he's still following the one static, one wild per area rule (at this point it's hard to tell as he's hasn't really been faithful to his own rules since ending the Nuzlocke) than he's gotten pretty much all he can from his currently available locations and he's been keeping a list for some time so he should be aware of this. Technically he might be able to get away with counting post-restoration Reborn City as a new location as a handful of the encounters have changed but the statics have not.
  13. Thanx. I didn't realize you could go under the street in the Obsidia Ward.
  14. 'Sup? You're friendly neighborhood devil is back with a minor inquiry. I've searched all around Reborn City but can't figure out how to reach this TM: How do I reach it? Hopefully it's a good one.
  15. I loathed friendship evolution and Pichu has always been the most infuriating Pokemon to friendship evolve. When possible to start with a Pikachu I much prefer that. After taking mine to both Salon ladies, having it hold the Sooth Bell, resetting to prevent fainting (which is all the more irritating with Volt Tackle) and used Lemonades instead of the Pokemon Center the friendship checker said: "It's just starting to get comfortable with you" then the very next level the thing evolved. Due to this incident, I don't put stock in the friendship checker. Good to know. If I ever want another Pichu I'll stick with the Onix Garden. They're available in the grass there post restoration.
  16. I concur. He is aware of the necessity of certain black market Pokemon for the mega ring event and put those aside. Vanny is the ice cream machine Vanillux. @Dreamblitz You might wanna send him a list of all the locations of the Coral Gym volunteers or he's gonna end up wasting a lot of time wandering around talking to EVERY SINGLE NPC in the game since I wouldn't put it past him to not understand that they're all in Reborn City and Reborn City's population alone is huge.
  17. I don't believe I did. Did I miss out on the super rod then? Isn't Simon in the cemetery the super rod quest? That's what I heard somewhere.
  18. I don't want Xer to be evil either but I try to be a realist. I concur that xer refusal to battle in Devon Corp has it's legit merit, as I mentioned it's the Belrose creed to not acquiesce an aggressor and here it's nothing but pointless brutality but I believe either scenario is plausible. There is potential for a Dark Crystal arrangement. As a gym leader Adrienn is an influential figure and influence is powerful. Adrienn has currently secured something of a savior status for facilitating the city's restoration so the citizens will be inclined to admire and trust xer. *** Backtracking: Honestly, I found Victoria by accident myself, I'd gone to the graveyard for a Pumpkaboo encounter as I was catching up on as many of my missed statics as I still could. Strangely, Simon is not there in my game? Is that another exclusive event to beating Solaris's Garchomp?
  19. Halle-freaaking-lujah, at least he found Indra! He's now headed for the two most difficult battles in Devon Corp and Ame's death scene. Dude's so gonna break. Damn. These are some sound thoughts which have brought some other red flags to mind. In retrospect, xe never expressed remorse for being wrong about the Gardevior situation or faulted El for his deception as Radomus did. Xe then refused to battle Arclight in Devon Corp. From Arclight's POV, it sounds as though xe was acting under the Belrose creed to not acquiesce to Team Meteor but I can see how it could have been set up to appear that way which does match up with the above observation that apart from the player who wins their way through Adrienn was the only one to leave Devon Corp practically unharmed. Just before Devon Corp, I found it suspicious that xe happens to mention wanting to meet xer replacement as the fairy gym leader to Ame and that the replacement abruptly disappeared. Personally, the whole Adrienn had no idea xe had been trapped beneath the city for 10-years story felt off to me. That a gear stopping or whatever derailed the entire flux of time and just for one person doesn't add up for me, why then didn't 10 more years pass while we were down there and that Radomus was the one to offer that explanation is concerning. He then disappeared off the radar after the event at the Sanctum of the Seven.
  20. Well there it is. I'm not into competitive playing. Ttar illustrates well how one's own preparedness is a significant factor, quite possibly more significant than the game's actual difficulty level because there are more effective ways to handle the difficulty level than others such as the over leveling tactic I explained above. Ttar, for example, most of the time tends to go in expecting to just brute force his way through and doesn't choose the strongest of move sets which entails more struggle. Oh yeah. Victoria is pretty easy but Arclight and ZEL are pretty hard. I think the electrocuting tiles puzzles are also going to prove a challenge for him as I expect he won't figure out that he can avoid electrocution by toggling the tiles or that having a ground Pokemon on your team will prevent the tiles from blacking you out because they're immune. Damn I need to get going again, he's catching up to me now. I'm grinding up with Indra for Adrienn.
  21. This is the first time I've played a Pokemon game with this level of difficulty and honestly I've a lot of the time relied partially on over leveling though in games with the EXP. share that effects the entire party it's not on purpose and I don't necessarily like the amount of control that it takes from me. There were times in Sword where I'd have preferred to turn it off but as far as I've been able to tell, one can't in that gen. When I do have control I don't go over 5 levels (i.e if a gym leader's strongest Pokemon is level 30 I'll grind to level 35) because even I don't have as much fun if I'm too OP. So the obedience cap seemed to have been made to challenge my particular strengths which I find smart but I'm also not used to the AI having such complex strategies that one is almost equal to a player.
  22. Damn. That's insane. I'm barely getting through most of this game and I'll never Nuzlocke Reborn or any other game.
  23. Oh that's right, I forgot that he totally didn't get the ZeL backstory and now he's coming up on his next ZeL battle! That will certainly be interesting. Pool time: how many times do you think it'll take him to beat PULSE Magnazone now that The Peeko seems to have left him on his own? It took me about 3 just to GET to PULSE Magnazone and I took it down with Destiny Bond + Quick Claw Houndoom!
  24. FYI folks, I'm assuming the follower version is now out of date as the game was updated to 18.2 in January. That being said, I reported this as it's own thread but it's probably best reported here that I had to stop using the follower version before this because 'Fly' can't be used outside of battle even after earning the Suspension Badge. The "a new badge is required" error persists. I hope the follower is fixed and updated as I quite enjoyed it.
