Ah indeed, the simpler days. -

True, not only did the internet not offer game guides but I was just getting into it (the internet) at 13. I used to purchase the official physical guides, I remember having one for Red/Blue and Crystal but those don't offer complex strategies if I recall correctly. -

I do and it's true, one downside of this quarantine is that it gives some people too much free time. Except there essentially is no "system" right now. He's not abiding by the criteria of the weakest performer, he's just been choosing which Pokemon he wants to kill and a lot of the time he's choosing his strongest team members. It's not about the excuse to grind new team members. No one needs an excuse to switch up one's team and grind up new members, I've done that plenty in any given game including Reborn and I don't Nuzlocke. Our protest is that he's set these rules and isn't following them hence we're saying he needs to either follow the rules whether the official Nuzlocke rules or his own or he else might as well drop them and free play including resuming use of his dead Pokemon, all of which he still has. I personally believe it should be valid for him to use the Pokemon he lost during his Nuzlocke since he started different rules. -

Quite unfortunate but true, some folks seem to only watch this stuff specifically to find something to judge. Though I've never seen any flaming for not releasing dead Pokemon. -

Ah, I've seen thumbnails for death montages but have never watched one. That does make sense. -

Indeed, he's essentially free playing at this point. Technically since the "roulette rule" is pure choice he could choose to bring back Tiki, Belly and the rest of his "dead" Pokemon. I almost feel he might as well. Interesting. Even the shiny clause wasn't an original rule? That seems unfair. So much the way supernatural lore such as vampires and werewolves does, the Nuzlocke rules have been changed over time by free license. Probably by folks wanting to adapt them for ease and convenience. I wonder how far back this goes and who exactly established the modern rules as I've never seen any Youtuber release dead Pokemon vs. leaving them in a designated death box. -

I appreciate the insight. I'm only familiar with Nuzlocke rules through watching Youtubers like Ttar. The shiny clause I am aware of, the Wanja reference was in regard to the "weakest link" roulette not it's capture, that he should have killed off Wanja like two episodes ago but has kept it by pure choice in defiance of the rules. -

That reminds me, this last episode, he had to technically "eliminate" a few Pokemon that are considered illegal but he didn't include Belly Jr. Apparently Belly Jr. is another Wanja story as it should be illegal because it's a dupe. At least he hasn't actually used it yet. -

Yup, he did it again on Vanillux based on it's iffy accuracy and yet he gave Sheer Cold to Beartic which is practically NEVER lands! -

I concur, Myassisfish isn't dead just sidelined. As was Kaido becauase he's 4x weak to flying. -

I concur, Stealth Rocks is useful in this battle, it halves Oricorio right from the start. But this is Ttar, he threw out Beartic who'd OHKO-ed two of her Mons instead of that damn punching bag of a bat, who did the whole route 3 event without any Pokeballs and complained about needing water types all the while passing on at least two of them. He's never been the best decision maker. -

Of course, the video itself is evidence of a recovery, that is logical. -

"Team Captain: Wanja, the Mavis!" Me: How dare he insult Mavis! I was worried for a moment that he was gonna beat Ciel on the first try which would have meant that the Peeko is back on his side. There isn't a "weakest link" system at this point, he's just killing off the Pokemon he wants to. Or else Wanja should have gone a while back. He was going in the right direction with the seeded Beartic. He OHKO-ed two of her Pokemon with it he just needed to choose it's battles more wisely. A seeded Beartic was a Ciel ace for me as well. It one shot Noivern and Minior and I think Oricorio as well. I'm not understanding. If these are pre-recorded episodes from before the crash than how do we know that he has salvaged his save file? -

Which is refreshing. I'm looking forward to his reaction to Ciel's Mega Altaria, the first Mega in the game. -
Ah. No certainly not, but it can feel like it.
-
What does this mean?
-
YOOOOOO, that 6th gym is unfair! Remove seeds
Lucifer Morningstar replied to Revengercm's topic in Reborn City
The answer to most gym battles is to counter their field boosts, either by changing or destroying the field, using their field against them or preventing the gym leader from using their signature move (ie Rain Dance for Shelly and Trick Room for Radomous). For Serra it's shattering her mirror field. Bulldoze or Earthquake will do this (Earthquake Piloswine for me). The user will most likely go down in the aftermath but that's alright as most Bulldoze or Earthquake users are bad against ice anyway. I'm pretty sure that without the field the seeds won't work. -
You mean a concept like the Trainer House in the original Silver and Gold? Or the Secret Bases in ORAS? That is quite an exciting idea.

Only because he keeps opting to throw them out instead of Wanja. XP -

I remember him primarily focusing on grabbing the Pokemon needed for the Mega Bracelet event but grabbed a few others such as the Cyndaquil as well. Now that I think about it, however, we haven't seen him use the Lucky Egg so it seems you're right there. -

Good, so I haven't missed it. Thanx. I'm pretty sure he's bought all the 7th Street Pokemon at this point. He'd only been short one Green Shard for Makuhita but found one a short time later mining. He still does really need Indra though, not only does it solve his money problems especially after losing a shit ton to Samuel-aloris but it's just so much better grinding than the wild. -

I was certain the glasses sticker quest was too out of his way and tedious but he ended up doing it. So who knows. He is attached enough to Jacques that if someone made sure to aware him on Discord he just might do it. LOL. I one shot her Mega Altaria with a Moonblast from my Sylveon after it got off one Earthquake that scored "Weak" on the scale so did nothing! (P.S I wasn't a fan of Slvyeon when it was first introduced, I'm pretty sure it was the one I have in this game that changed that, it's now my favorite Fairy Pokemon). When is it? I watched the beginning of an instructional video some time ago so saw how it's triggered but I'm just after Devon Corp. So far I haven't been able to trigger the mega bracelet event and probably can't now because last I left Arclight Adrienn was carrying him out of Devon Corp unconscious after he got his arm blown off for losing the gauntlet battle to me (now his Mega Amphoros was a hard one, my Swanna of all Pokemon was the one to take it down!). All I got from the little of the video I watched was that the event involves returning some of the stolen Pokemon sold on 7th street to their trainers. -

Ah. Like I said, they seem to be about the same in effectiveness but if we had the option to redo one choice in the entire game I'd pick the Garchomp battle. My brain wasn't on at all for that. I didn't even think of Perish Song or Destiny Bond. -

So this newest episode was recorded before his PC crashed? Agreed. The universe is now in balance because the Peeko has left him on his own for once. I nearly wanted to quit the game because of that damn battle! Is Julia as the partner a change that was made in the newest update? Damn. Well it doesn't appear she was all that much better than Florinia and type wise, Florinia was a slightly stronger. Ugh! "There ain't even a weakest link, everyone put in mad work." Wanja has literally done nothing but go down the moment it gets in! -
I believe super effective prioritization is largely replaced in this game by field effect prioritization, meaning instead it prioritizes the move or moves that gets the field boost. i.e Typhlosion + Eruption = Burn field for Charlotte. When this can't be applied I suspect it creates a random effect similar to Noel's U-turn though that was a legitimate bug. You forgot that the AI seems to have psychic abilities as their move selections can feel rather anticipatory of the Pokemon you're switching into. i.e Solaris's Garchomp might knock out a Charizard with a Rock's Edge and then in the next turn when Nidoqueen is sent out will switch to Earthquake as though it knew Nidoqueen was the next Pokemon coming out. That's really infuriating. About as much as how everything and its damn brother knows Earthquake in this game!
