TyranitarTube's Pokemon Reborn Playthrough
Lucifer Morningstar replied to nepeta100's topic in Reborn City
Both have their strong points and both can be made examples of when considering one's own strategy. Well astute and prepared Youtubers are respectable and give us confidence. Some of them can also appreciate the plot a bit better and don't spend a lot of time throwing tantrums into the microphone like Shofu or ignorantly put the game down which can be a bit off putting. They can also still be plenty entertaining. In the case of Dai Laughing, he might have been a proper strategist but there were times the game still threw him for a loop and he was entertaining in that he had an impressive talent for voices or at least accents. I thought his voices really gave personality and life to the characters. The ill prepared strugglers such as Ttar are quite humanizing and give us a more realistic expectation of the game which is both endearing and entertaining. His responses to the characters and wild theories are on a level all their own and is one of the reasons I got into him. I find both equally entertaining to be honest. ~~ So I just beat Amaria. Technically on the second try as I don't want to sound like a Youtuber and didn't realize that she gives you the opposite battle of the one you choose (Singles if you ask for doubles and doubles if you ask for singles) and I wanted singles so I reset for that. Her singles team isn't too difficult. Ludicolo was where most of my struggle was but Grassy Terrain from Venusaur to weaken Scald and a Brave Bird from Swanna was the answer. Dry Skin Heliolisk was the answer to Deliverance. It resisted Ice Shard well and other than that Deliverance just kept resting and using Hydration to awaken right away. At this pace I was able to throw in a X Spec. Atk (Just ONE and Just IT). which enabled me to one shot her with Thunder. Fortunately Amaria was stupid and used up her Ultra Potions to heal the Life Orb damage to her Ludicolo. Mega Venusaur for Mega Swampert and Kingdra. That labyrinth of hers is gonna drive Ttar crazy! Especially the part in Reshiram where you have to travel the horrid thing looking for Amaria three times. I just used Dai Laughing's guide video (which I actually initially needed just to know what I was supposed to do after she leaves the arena for a swim). I didn't understand why Titania saved us and then gave Amaria hell for trying to drown us? She didn't exactly trust us last we left her as she seemed to lean towards believing Lin that we work for Team Meteor. They're both dangerous fucked up bitches but part of me does feel a bit bad for them. -
Fair enough. The earliest Raltz was ever available was in the house that is accessed after repeatedly paying a bum blocking the path until he moves. That's where Shofu got his. Well fuck. Those are two TMs I'd love to have. In addition, watching I believe it was Dai Laughing made me a bit salty that Serra's TM changed. I would have much preferred Frost Breath to Aurora Veil. Which is the reason I expect old versions of the game were not left available, to not to enable this. I would consider this cheating.

What reason would there be for downgrading? Older episodes of the game are far less complete and judging by Shofu's playthrough are far less quality than the current, they're missing the most complex component in the game (the field effects) and at least two generations of Pokemon depending on which older episode we're talking about. The basic plot, items and side missions have remained unchanged. For this reason I would expect there to be no old versions available for download and I doubt anyone who started with older versions still have them. I started with 18 and promptly deleted it as soon as 18.2 loaded my save successfully.

TyranitarTube's Pokemon Reborn Playthrough

That does seem to be a common factor among all the Lets Players/Nuzlockers. From those I've watched Dai Laughing was by far the most thoughtful and strategic to the point where he somewhat made it look easy. Wow. I believe I've seen that playlist. I'm gonna have to check that out. Right now I've been watching PokeMEN7, who is both clueless and made it all the harder on himself by not only doing a shiny lock but using a death rule on top of that! He's just beaten the first PULSE Tangrowth battle where I'm at in his series and so far the dude has hardly been able to hold on to two Pokemon because he gives them up to 3 lives and most caught shinies get 1 whichonly increases if he gets dupes. He also for some reason has only soft reset ONE static to make it shiny (Pansear which he then lost along with at least two others to Julia) which I can say from experience doesn't take long with Reborn's odds though he takes the time to shiny hunt in the wild which he montages cuts of. He's entertaining though. He has some good commentary and enthusiasm. He's also one of the most mellow Poketubers I've ever seen. He, of course, gets frustrated with the game like anyone but he doesn't throw a tantrum every time his Pokemon faint. Rather he gets coolly disappointed. He never officially lost the Nuzlocke. He discontinued it after losing to Solaris's Garchomp. Although he thought he'd lost it, as that was scripted to allow a loss, it didn't technically count. Lol. I might have to check out his Insurgence playthrough. I liked his free styling his Pokemon's evolutions in Reborn but at the point I'm at, his entire team is fully evolved and he hasn't caught anything new so that hasn't been a thing for quite some time. Ooh so he starts soft resetting after he loses, I haven't seen that. -

Unfortunately, you're probably right. I've been watching Shofu and wow. Our discussion earlier about Ttar's use of the X items and not paying mind to the fields is now less valid. Shofu's series is so old that he doesn't even have fields or double gym battles but has managed to be a lot worse than Ttar. I'm up to Luna, he's battled her at least 3 or 4 times with no success and for the entire game up to this point he's been using the exact same team (all of which he discovered upon a certain game update have terrible IVs), other than a shiny Skiploom hasn't even caught new Pokemon and is at least 10 levels below his cap. Yet he yells "I HATE THIS GAME" and "THIS IS STUPID!" every time one of his Pokemon faints. I commend that Ttar at least switches his team around even without deaths and his OPing on X items is at least some thought process. -

Oh, thanx for that information. How unfortunate. I was enjoying that. Hopefully he'll find it some time. ~~ I just did the Sanctum Key Quest a bit ago and I hope Ttar does it. Although it just gets you a couple of field read outs which we've established he doesn't pay much attention to and a TM, I'd be interested in seeing him read Elias's journal with his backstory. The TM might also prove useful for Amaria since it's Solar Beam. -

No, while he seems to have abandoned his Sun Extreme Randomizer, I don't see him abandoning a series as exciting and popular as Reborn. Agreed and Sword and Shield are easily the shortest games in the mainstream series due to how little lore based plot there is vs. the gym plot. Not to mention with Reborn's difficulty level breaks are almost mandatory. I've taken at least a couple of them as well in favor of playing through most of Insurgence and Uranium. Not to mention Sword. -
Sorry to rain on your parade but as Kenneth said, shinies are practically a commonality in Reborn (and good to know it's the same in Rejuv as well, I still need to start that game). My game is roughly 40%-50% shinies both caught and bred. Most of the Reborn exclusive shiny coloration are so gorgeous I wish they were canon such as Dustox, Drapion and Shinx.

Breeding Question

Nevermind. -
Charlotte was a large part of my decision here as well but it was also my awareness of just what Team Meteor is capable of doing with all 4 of the keys.

Yeah, I'd call her one of my hardest as well up there with Shelly. That Ageislash is one mother effing iron wall. I enjoy his extreme randomizers and am watching this new one. He ends up with some awesome dark plots. Still, I hope he won't leave Reborn hanging for long. -

Woot! Beat Titania! The MVPs were Excadrill, Charizard, Lucario and Vileplume. Once Vileplume turned the field to grassy terrain, Charizard was able to one shot Ageislash with Flair Blitz. It also took out Mega Scizor. I'm mad though that afterward Lin fucking makes you look like a Meteor and Titania doesn't exactly believe her but doesn't exactly doubt her either! Bitches, both of them! Unfortunately, it seems Ttar might have put Reborn aside for a bit, he's started a Sword Extreme Randomizer. -
If you REFUSE Blake the ring: 1. You'll get Waterfall a bit later as Aster will give it to you after you defeat him in battle just below the top of Amatrine mountain. 2. You'll have access to the shiny charm immediately after the battle with Blake at Eclipse's father's house in Calcenon City. If you GIVE Blake the ring: 1. He should be true to his end of the bargain and exchange it for Waterfall. 2. The Shiny Charm event will not be available until later. Exactly when I don't know. Side Note: Either way he gets the ring as if you refuse he'll take it from you. Different relationship points are also distributed. Side note: This relationship guide is old and Blake asking more than once isn't relevant anymore if I recall correctly. Blake asks for the ring once and if you say 'no' Shelly will plead with you to reconsider two or three times, however I don't see why the relationship points would have changed much. To get the refuse results you MUST say 'no' to both characters EACH AND EVERY time they ask. If you say 'no' to Blake but then say 'yes' to Shelly that's the same as saying 'yes' to Blake. Or at least that's how I understand it. I said 'no' all the way.

TyranitarTube's Pokemon Reborn Playthrough

True but I was fortunate this time, the second shiny Trapinch I hatched was Timid nature and it was speed favoring I was after (that and a ground Pokemon that can learn Earthquake since there is no TM for it). The thing is a level 77 Flygon now and I'm feeling good about getting it's speed past Titania's. Same deal with my Excadrill only I used the psychiatrist to give him a speed favoring nature. I'm not so sure he'll be able to out speed Titania but he has heavy attack and I've noticed that Fissure actually has a fairy decent success rate in this game for one of those annoying 30 accuracy moves. Apart from the mods I have no idea how to cheat in a RGSS. I try not to cheat on my first runs of games but there have been some temptations in this game that I might have given into if I knew how to and honestly I am using a handful of the mods. Oh I'm counting on that and while I believe there is some chance he'll stumble onto Sugiline Cave as that's how I found it, there is no way he's gonna find the Mirage Tower. Even if he's told how to spawn it I'm not sure he'd spend all that time running around the desert looking for oasises. I want this! It's not in the package is it? I don't recall seeing a breeding mod in the package. -

Nah. I've used him but I've always been a frugal spender of both real and game currencies and I wanted a shiny as well so was already having to reset the egg. -

I actually did walk behind the tower in casual exploration but nothing happened. I'll go back later. I'm now working on nature breeding a Trapinch. -

Alright so this oasis thing is a bit annoying. This desert is so huge but I spent at least an hour running around what I'm sure is the entire thing and have just two to show for it, possibly only one is currently counted as I left after finding the first one to heal. I've now lost half my team to stupid Arena Trap Dugtrios (What is the point of Arena Trap on the player's end, even way back in gen 2 before abilities existed, the roaming dogs had Roar to get around entrapment shit such as Mean Look), and have used up all my Cotton Candies but am afraid to leave again and reset it. There. Mini-vent over. Sorry. Yeah I don't think Ttar is gonna find Mirage Tower because I can't see him running around the desert that much. Especially not once he finds the Scrapyard. I'm not gonna give up though. I need to check how many repels I have. -

No kidding? Imma have to find the Mirage Tower then. I do want me a Mimikyu for sure but was worried about it's secondary fairy typing here. -

Plus that he's managing to get the openings to use the X items via Double Team is a bit unreal. Evasion moves NEVER work for the player the way they do for the AI. He's the first and thus far only one I've seen them work for. I might have to check that out. Perhaps he'll make me wanna actually play the game as he did with Reborn. Yeah hardcore credit to him for being the one who got me into Reborn. I'm not sure where Ep18 ends other than that Saphira the final gym leader isn't able to be battled as of now but I feel as though I'm getting there. I'm currently working on Titania. I've given her a few tries already and have gotten all way to Ageislash before I fail. It, Excadrill and Klefki give me the most trouble. Fuck that Klefki is heavily defensive, my Krookadile can't two shot it with Earthquake with an attack stat of 222. Barley can't but still. Right now I've started working on EV training an Excadrill of my own that can outspeed hers and have a Dugtrio on standby if I can work that out. Anyway, I'm guessing I'd better not look at that spoiler. -

Yet he also manages to be surprisingly insightful. I'm impressed with how he manages that. Exactly and his over use of the X items is taking away from that a bit. -

I gotta watch the movie. My best friend said it was cute and it looks interesting even though the live action Pokemon kinda look weird and like stuffed animals. Indeed, he's very plot observant and this was a intriguing catch. I also find it odd that Shade's projections showed a past event (Corey's suicide). What's the point of that?
