Hello! I see you have gotten a lot of advice already but I wanted to add in some comments as well! I see alot of people commenting about your pokemon being on the slower side. I personally tend to have one or two tanks on my team and then run with fast hard hitting mons. That being said, I will say the most valuable Pokemon to my reborn team have been my slow tanks. I use Magnezone and Hippowdon and their utility in battle has been far more helpful than the speedy mons. I agree that Trick Room would be super helpful as for a while I had a Rhyperior and having that thing move first literally WRECKED the Fire Gym as well as the Flying Gym on the first try! All of that aside, I do think it would be valuable to have at least one speedy sweeper if possible. One that I personally adore, although it typically is better for single battles rather than doubles is Vivillon. Compound eyes plus Wide Lens means that its Sleep Powder almost never misses. It usually goes first as it is a fast pokemon. Then you can quiver dance a couple times, re-Sleep powder, Quiver Dance to Max Speed, Max Spc Attack, and Max Spc Defense, then it can single handedly sweep entire teams utilizing Hurricane which will also almost never miss. Plus if for some reason you dont OHKO with it, you have the chance to confuse the target. For those other mons that are weaker to Bug Moves, Bug Buzz them into Oblivion. I think its typing could be useful as it will fulfill the lack of Flying and Bug Types on your team which both can be pretty good to have throughout Reborn! At any rate, I wish you luck!

Hey Everyone! I don't know if this is really a Team Showcase kind of post buuuuuut I thought this would be the best place to put it as it relates quite a bit... Who has been the MVP (Most Valuable Pokemon) for your Reborn playthrough? This can be the Pokemon that came in clutch during your toughest battle, perhaps has been with you since the early game and has been the ol' reliable team member, maybe even one that always tends to be your lead/first pokemon out, etc. I want to know what singular pokemon has made a monumental impact on your game play and why! Feel free to share stories of challenges it helped you overcome, what made you add it to your team, etc. I'll share mine. Without a doubt, even though it is not my favorite mon on the team, my MVP has been my Magnezone. I got Magnemite as early as possible to help with some Water and Flying Type weaknesses and that Sturdy ball of electricity has helped in so many ways. From tanking hits from Ditto/Arceus and landing the paralyzing hit, electrocuting a good chunk of the water-mons i've encountered (Im looking at you Amaria), and its ever-powerful Flash Cannon killing every fairy it has encountered while commonly taking advantage of the many steel/electric boosting terrains. It has even been amazing in double battles with my Hippowdon after it Magnet Rises as Earthquake will miss Magnezone and its Discharge wont hurt Hippowdon. All in all, it has been with me through most of the game and I don't know how I would have gotten through some of the most critical battles I have had without it. I look forward to hearing your stories as well!

Awesome! And oh wow I didn't realize you planned on using ALL the dark pokemon! Thats amazing!

You should definitely get yourself a Honchkrow and Weavile as you progress. Definitely two that will be extremely helpful! Additionally, I'd recommend Scrafty with Moxie to be a good sweeper. Speedboost Sharpedo is great too for that water typing. Nuzleaf is great too. Spiritomb is a fun one as well although can be a bit of a challenge to obtain. Oh lastly Hydreigon is amazing as well and the Shiny form in this game is AWESOME! Good luck!

Any suggestions for my last pokemon and help for my team
jbastian1 replied to Cometno's topic in Team Showcase
Weavile would be a great addition to your team, although you might not be able to get it just yet. I personally run with one on my team although can't remember quite how far in the game you can get Sneasel. At any rate, the dark immunity to psychic would be good considering your team has a few weak spots to Pyschic plus the Ice typing would be great for taking on Dragon types quickly. You can breed in Ice Punch to them as its strongest STAB move and it gets Ice Shard for priority. Although its a bit of a glass cannon. Additionally, you could consider getting yourself Vanilluxe which can even learn Flash Cannon. I hear its been a solid choice for people embarking on beating reborn. You could also do Avalugg if you want something tankier, it can have Sturdy which is always invaluable in Reborn or even Ice Heal. You could use it with an icy rock to set up an extended Hail and heal up each turn. Alolan Sandlash with Slush Rush is amazing as you'll learn in your battle with Titania later- good luck there, that one was ROUGH. Last recommendation I can think of would be Alolan Ninetails for that Fairy/Ice typing. It is a total Dragon wrecker plus the Aurora Veil is great considering how much stat adjustments matter in this game. Good Luck! -
So not gonna lie, Rhyperior is probably more deadly a mon, but it requires the right set up. For a good chunk of the game, I ran Trick Room and would swap into Rhyperior and would utterly WRECK EVERYTHING. Definitely one of my favorite mons to use. However, versatility-wise, Mamoswine is probably a better choice unless youre willing to put the effort into setting up a team for Rhyperior!

I noticed you mentioned Hippowdon but I haven't seen a ton of people commenting on that. I just want to say that I ran a Hippowdon in my team for Reborn and he was absolutely INVALUABLE and one of the MVPs on my team/in rotation (And I have boxes worth of rotation mons). His sand stream comes in handy with dealing consistent damage as well as his ability to set up stealth rocks. He can learn slackoff for health regeneration, plus STAB Earthquake is always great! I also ran my team with Aerodactyl so the synergy between the two was fantastic. Plus he can learn moves like Crunch to deal with Psychic types which I feel like are pretty common throughout Reborns battles as their one of the more powerful types!

Well it seems like you have quite a weakness to rock/ground considering the only pokemon that can really do damage to them is your Clawitzer- and let me tell you from experience, late game you will be wishing you had more rock coverage. Also is it just me or do you only have 5 mons, or do you have two luxrays? The way the images appear it is kind of hard to tell. At any rate, knowing some of the battles that you will have ahead, it may be good to try and get yourself some sort of a tank. Potentially something bulky that can heal or recover. Are you using a starter pokemon? If not, Venusaur would be extremely useful for you giving you that rock/ground coverage and he's quite tanky. Otherwise you could try to get yourself a Snorlax or a Blissey, those typically tend to be good walls for a team. I personally use Hippowdon, although he probably is not available for you until much later in the game. His sand stream and stealth rocks have been invaluable. Additionally, I would consider swapping out your Meowstic for something like Malamar or Gaurdevoire. Typically they perform better and with their multi-type it tends to provide more coverage. If I recall correctly, it has been a MINUTE since I was that early in the game, Aya is the Posion Type battle, correct? If I remember right, it is a double battle. You don't really have much right now that resists poison. Your Meowstic will help, but you should probably get yourself a Ground Type or a Steel Type for that resistance. Fire would probably be beneficial as well. Earth Power would probably be beneficial to have on the team as the field won't weaken it. Potentially consider getting yourself a Gastrodon? They are Water/Ground, Solid stats, with the ability to learn Earth Power and Recover which would be useful. Additionally, it is a fantastic mon for multi-battles throughout any of the games because of its ability water absorb and its immunity to electricity (Just watch out for grass types). Swoobat could be utilized quite well IF you can bring yourself to use that hideous thing. The one that will probably give you the biggest headache is her Drapion considering you'll be utilizing Psychic as your primary form of attack and it is immune. That being said, I would DEFINITELY consider getting yourself some form of a Ground Type specifically for that, just watch out with her Venusaur. Sorry, I feel like I am ranting, good luck!

Im so bad with technology this is terrible. I got pokemon diamond running and could play it but when I use the universal randomizer, it doesnt show up as a rom... ughhhh

Hello everyone! I wanted to do either a Pokemon X/Y or a Pokemon Soul Silver Random Nuzlocke but will need an emulator to do so. I would really like to be able to play the game through regularly with only slight modifications. I would like to have the option to randomize at the beginning as well as the option for trade evolutions to occur naturally for pokemon through leveling up. Does anyone have any good recommendations for this?? One that wont put a virus on my laptop? Please and thank you!

Vivillon is the best option for a Quiver Dancer hands down

Hello Everyone! As an avid Reborn fan, I was just curious, what has been the most challenging aspect/moment/battle for you all as you have progressed through the game? What made it the most challenging and how did you overcome this? Personally for me, I think the most frustrated I became with the game was back in like episode 15 or 16, when the game ended after beating Ciel. This was my first playthough on my old computer which died on me so I have since restarted and beaten episode 18, but anyways I had made it through the game without really focusing on a rotation and my overall team was lackluster at best. I had Torterra, Magcargo, Noctowl, Seaking, Venomoth, and Exploud. Let me tell you I was stuck on Ciel for like a month straight! I did eventually beat her, but when my computer died on me and I got a new laptop, I knew that I would have to face her again in my next playthough. That being said, I focused so much on assembling the perfect Pokemon to stop her throughout the game and upon reaching her, won first try! Definitely a proud moment for myself! Lets hear your stories to give some hope to those who have been stuck on the same battle for hours and want to tear their hair out!

For Llama you could go with Ampharos, it's similar enough I'd say even though its prior evolutions are sheep . Also look into: Draglalge or Kingdra (relates to the Patagonian Seahorse) Whiscash- Banjo Catfish Poliwrath/Politoed/Greninja-Large Four-Eyed Frog Comfey-reminiscent of the many colorful flowers of Argentina In regards to the Arrogant yet Prideful, what about something like Hawlucha or Arcanine? They have always seemed like arrogant and proud mons to me.

When you Mega evolve Altaria it becomes a Dragon/Fairy Type with Pixilate so like I'm not worried there!

While I agree with you that Umbreon can definitely be a solid tank of a pokemon and I could understand how clutch it can be in battle, I just don't know if its necessary for his team. I mentioned Togekiss because it would give him a mon with immunity to two types: Ground and Dragon. This would effectively make his team perfect for switching between mons to utilize the immunities when anticipating attacks. Lucario to Poison, Weavile to Psychic, Togekiss to Ground or Dragon. If he added in a Ground type to his team, he would then have ANOTHER immunity to his team. That could really come in handy. Just a thought though.

So Vinnie, I am fully aware of the usefulness of their speed, especially being a sweeper. Honestly though, for Reborn, I find that having the higher Attack and Special Attack for Salazzle and Weavile respectively is better. They aren't outsped by much in general, the only ways they tend to be outsped is when I am facing something with a Choice Scarf on, but the slight boost to speed from being Jolly or Timid while it can be clutch in some cases, doesn't actually stand up to the scarf. That being said, I opted for the heavier attacks. In regards to the final Gym, I couldnt remember whether it was Heather or Saphira. Also storymode wise we could get multiple similar to how we had to fight multiple poison leaders. Now Lunala506, I don't currently run with any Fairy pokemon on my main team, although I keep some in my rotation. I have a lvl 90 Aromatisse, lvl 86 Shiinotic, and a lvl 89 Wigglytuff for example. I am also working on evolving my Raltz to Gardevoire, plus I could Mega Evolve my lvl 90 Altaria. I also plan to evolve up my Togepi as well as my Popplio.

I feel like the final gym will be a cakewalk moving forward tbh. I'm sure there will be those exploits that the gym leaders have, but between my Weavile and Dragon Dance Kingdra, idk if ill have too much trouble with a Dragon team. This is probably my famous last words here and Ame is going to wreck me with whatever the gym leaders name is, but like if I need it, I have enough in rotation to put together a Dragonslaying team I would say!

I actually just went ahead and got myself the Zorua. Need to level him up though into the rotation! I dont't have Goodra yet, but I did get the GUM key, just need to do that dang puzzle. In addition, I plan to add Dragonite to my rotation as well.

Personally, I love your team. I think you have good coverage and the fact that you don't overlap your typing is great! The only mon that stands out to me is Cinccino. I actually used to run with one on my team and while I agree that it was invaluable in me progressing in my current playthrough, around level 50 he started to become obsolete due to it's overall stats. Have you considered switching it out before? Perhaps with a Flying type? Not only is it great for utility-being able to fly you around the map, but many are incredibly fast with high attack. For instance, maybe grab yourself a Staraptor? Maybe an Aerodactyl or Archeops? Crowbat? Those would add some good balance to your team and be fantastic sweepers!

I finished Episode 18 and I was curious what you all thought of my team! Moving forward with speculation for Episode 19, let me know what you think of my team as well as any recommendations or tips you may have. Thanks! Aerodactyl: Lvl 93, Jolly Ability: Pressure Holding: Aerodactylite Rock Slide Fly Iron Head Thunder Fang Kingdra: Lvl 91, Bashful Ability: Swift Swim/Sniper (Depends on what's needed) Holding: Leftovers Dragon Dance Outrage Waterfall/Dive (just depends on the situation and terrain) Surf Magnezone: Lvl 90, Bold Ability: Sturdy Holding: Metal Coat Flash Cannon Metal Sound Magnet Rise Discharge Hippowdon: Lvl 90, Hardy Ability: Sand Stream Holding: Smooth Rock Stealth Rock Earthquake Fissure (Plan on removing, just don't know what I want as of yet) Crunch Salazzle: Lvl 87, Modest- NOTE: This one is kind of a floater on my team. She is awesome in a lot of ways, but definitely doesn't feel like she holds her own as much as the rest of the team. Ability: Corrosion Holding: Black Sludge Sludge Wave Flame Thrower Nasty Plot Dragon Pulse Weavile: Lvl 85, Adamant Ability: Pressure Holding: Expert Belt Ice Punch Night Slash Brick Break Knock Off As I said, any tips/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I have a good grasp of the game mechanics and competitive play as well. I have other Pokemon in rotation: Vivillon, Galvantula, Escavalier, Heracross, Hawlucha, Rapidash, Roserade, Rhyperior, Trevenant, Tentacruel, Solrock, Altaria, Exeggutor, Garchomp, Haxorus, Alakazam, Metagross, and Aromatisse to name a few. I have an entire box full dedicated to my rotation, I just did not think it necessary to add all of the descriptions for them as I have my main team. Thanks again!

Yeeeeesss sorry it’s been awhile since I used one lol whoops

Personally I think Togekiss would be a good tanky flying type with the healing factor from wish AND super luck makes those air slashes flinch like crazy. Also you don't have a Water type! Get yourself something with good Special Attack, maybe Tentacruel or Greninja!
