  1. I'm not sure what your stance is in terms of 'cross-playing', but I might as well throw this first idea out there anyway: 'Reborn', in terms of the forums, is frequently shortened down to 'RBRN', which for some stupid reason reminds me of the word-that's-often-used-as-a-name 'Ribbon' (despite not having a second r). Arguably, there's a bit of symbology here (the run's a ribbon that ties the favorites of many here together), but that seems a touch sappy, no? 'Revo' arguably works as being shorthand for the entirety of the forums' full name, but that would mean that the character will share their name with an uninstaller program. But aren't we technically 'uninstalling' Team Meteor's influence throughout the entire game? Seems like another solid option to me.
  2. All of the starter pokemon are in the game now (aside from the very start of the game, of course), so it's more a matter of which is the hardest to get ahold of. Bulbasaur can be found in the wild after renovating Azurine Island. It's rather rare, however, and significantly lower leveled than the other pokes in the area, so be prepared to hang a while (unless you're lucky, I guess). Tutwig is the reward for one of the puzzles in the Agate Circus. The vendor in question gives a froakie-themed puzzle that rewards a copy of TMX Dive first, and once that's cleared the turtwig one isn't available until after you beat Terra- but it's pretty early compared to most of the other starters, and 15-square puzzles aren't that difficult if you know the trick to them (thanks, Insurgence...). Speaking of Dive, mudkip is in one of the underwater villages just outside of Apophyll Beach (specifically, near the part that plays the Peridot Ward's theme instead of Apophyll Academy's; from the underwater perspective, the locked houses will be labeled 'Kingsbury'). You need either an Antidote or a Pecha Berry to get to join you, but you don't have to battle it as a result. Moving on from starters, poipole's a bit of a doozy- you need to have every other available pokemon registered as caught in your Pokedex to get it. In other words, you're gonna have to trade someone to use it in-game. Zorua will appear masquerading as Corey in various parts of Reborn City after that tragedy, and move around the city ala teddiursa. I don't know if that even still occurs post-restoration, but that shouldn't matter if it's a team member anyway, right? Jangm-o is in (or on, rather) the Teknite Range like rowlet is, and is similarly found as an egg there. It has all the same move requirements as ol' Robin Hoot, plus Rock Climb for good measure- as such, you won't be able to get it until after the 16th Gym Leader. Larvitar also requires Rock Climb to find, and involves a puzzle that spans both the part of Tanzan Mountain that the giant steelix carved through and a new portion found by surfing around the lake in the Tanzan Cove. The puzzle involves collapsing the Cave field a lot, and while some of the wild pokemon do learn moves that can do that for you, they're highly unreliable. As such, I recommend bringing your own pokemon capable of using Bulldoze, Earthquake, or Magnitude to get the job done. I don't know about anywhere else, but I do know that buneary are standard wilds in the (post-restoration) Obsidia Ward- as are lopunny, for that matter. If anyone knows of an earlier time to find them, feel free to point it out. Dewpider can be found by Surfing in the North Adventurine Woods- thankfully, that's the easier portion of the place... Lastly, there's shuckle. A rare encounter from spamming Rock Smash on the rocks on Apophyll Beach- specifically, only the ones in the Training Grounds have them. Unless that's changed since 2016? That's the latest I found when searching for information on the nigh-unkillable trollbug...
  3. But, but... Why you gotta do that to my edgy shiny?! *Ahem* Anyway... Let those who had been holding off rejoice, for their wait is now over! Come, and bear witness as the masses, too, come to know my suffering!
  4. Actually, Dark Void really doesn't have much going for it nowadays. With the advent of Gen. 7, its Accuracy was dropped from 80 to 50, making it far more unreliable than ever before- and that's assuming that the 'only darkrai can use this move successfully' thing hasn't been added to Pokemon Essentials! So really, it's either a couple of coin flips or a complete waste of a turn, whereas Spore is guaranteed to land on anything that isn't immune to it. Food for thought, I guess.
  5. My opinion on Cotton Candy prior to adding Mega Pinsir to my team:

"Eh, that's neat. Might as well grab a couple while I'm here."

My opinion on Cotton Candy after adding Mega Pinsir to my team:
"O, blessed be the almighty name of Amethyst, for deigning to impart this gift of ambrosia upon us pathetic mortals! May your computer remain whole, and your heart filled with mercy. Amen!"

So mega pinsir dies a lot?

Not if you play your cards right/ predict what your opponent is packing. It naturally outspeeds a lot of things and strikes hard enough to take many of them out with Aerilate!Return after a Swords Dance, so it's more a matter of knowing whether the opponent has to coverage to make popping the Mega in the setup round unsafe or not.

The biggest issue at the moment is that a certain Ghostie in the Glass Workshop can't be OHKO'd by it and comes packing Electric Gem!Thunder, which does not bode well for the rest of that part of the game...

Well okay. I don't know what part of the game you were referencing but yeah, reborn trainers tend to have a lot of type coverage so even setting up a swords dance is a lot of effort.

  6. @Electric debacle: I obviously can't speak for everyone here, but I personally only really like 7 pokemon from this Type (Alola!chu, magneton, magnezone, rotom <Mow especially>, eelectross, charjabug, and UB03: Lighting <xurkitree>), and even then none of them make my top 10. As such, the it hits the #2 slot of 'Types Autumn is least likely to Mono-Type/specialize in', between Dark and (contrary to what my favorite pokemon implies) Water. A Special crobat, though? That's a new one for me- I've always ran them Physically, myself. Seems like it'd have some issues in the Cave Field Effect (since that chokes out Special Flying attacks), but since a lot of pokes in those are things crobat can't really handle too well anyway, that might actually be a moot issue...
  7. Woo, that is finally happening! Or starting, at least- I wouldn't be too surprised if it goes unconcluded by the end of this particular chapter, to be honest. Guess all the things that are going wrong in GDC made it so that the upper portion of the stands couldn't be filled, huh?
  8. A couple years ago, this question would've yielded a different answer. But some time has passed, so instead of a mechanically inferior eeveelution, I present to you an Alolan native that's even more bizarre than half the aliens the Region's dealt with lately! Seriously, the more I ponder this adorable little bugger's anatomy, more it becomes clear to me that it practically embodies the concept of 'creative liberties', and I love it! I'd personally recommend carrying a couple Ability Capsules if you do use it- while one Ability is clearly better for it in most cases, the other one really messes with a certain Gym Leader... At this rate, you'll have access to the entire Pokedex when the run finally begins!
  9. That attempted pun... Welcome to these peculiar lands we call the Reborn Evolved Forums! Feel free to to check out as much we have to offer as you wish, and please do enjoy your stay!
  10. Simply try to evolve a rockruff between 5:00 and 5:59 PM. Since they couldn't get Own Tempo to work properly here, any rockruff will do the trick.
  11. If you have a poipole by Florinia, wouldn't that mean that you're playing in Sandbox Mode in the first place? I'm not too familiar with that mod, but I believe it should have a room early on that would allow you to change its nature early on. I think.
  12. One thing to keep in mind that helped me out a bit when fighting him: his Tailwind comes not from a move, but a single-use held item. There is an Elemental Seed hidden in the area so that you, too, can set up your own Tailwind at the drop of a hat, nullifying one of his advantages, or giving yourself one over him (depending on your timing). Also confirming that time travel is really nice for standard travel in this game- as Venam alluded to back in West Gearen earlier.
  13. This is the first time I've noticed that the area between the Beryl Bridge and Shade's Gym actually has music playing. Geez, how slow can I get?

  14. That's the only one that affects the path you wind up on. Other choices do have their own alterations to the story (like the end result of the Fiore Mansion raid), but those are otherwise unrelated.
  15. TFW you completely forgot about the mewtwo in Terra's computer. 🤦‍♀️

  16. Goodness, parasect goes through some veritable death throes upon defeat these days! 😥

  17. Presumably, it's the same time as it is in USUM: between 5:00 and 5:59 PM (17:00 and 17:59, for those using the other time style).
  18. This isn't a trade response (I don't have any of the pokemon requested myself), but I'd like to give a head's up: there are no Own Tempo rockruff in Reborn, do to issues with Pokemon Essentials. As of E18, any rockruff can evolve into dusk form lycanroc, so long as it is the proper time of day.
  19. I know that Eustace (the boss of the Arclight quest)'s manectric is Choiced already, but I'd like to get a bit of confirmation: does anyone know if it's holding a Choice Scarf or a Choice Lens?

  20. I tend to go to the 'Saved Games' folder, transfer the files for the games in question to a USB, and then pull them from the USB into the 'Saved Games' folder on the new computer. 'Twas a bit of a daily routine for me over the last school year.
