With the 500 free gems, I gave myself four chances at pulling Disruption Wall, since it's been hell constantly being on the receiving end of it (or Draining Shield as a second options). Thankfully got it on the third pack, with Birthright in the second pack
finally, some general graveyard recovery. My luck with pack-pulling hasn't been as great as my random drops gains at times, but sometimes it's good.
still no third Brainwashing Beam -
It's weird getting an UR card when you lose. Then again, it was just Pumpking, so I may just be selling it for UR gem once I unlock Bonz and get his free Pumpking.

...............and the auto-duel just got another Neos randomly from lvl 30 Jaden that spawned outside the gate. Why can't I get UR on the useful cards damnit (unless Neos related cards are actually good in this meta) or just getting the one card I need from packs (the last Brainwashing Beam, atm)!
I know I shouldn't complain about 2 UR draws within 4 hours of each other, but it seems to be taunting me at this point. I'm at least keeping this one, since I like Neos.
Damn I wish the Elemental Hero achetype was a bit better. -
eheroes are likely gonna see more usage with the upcoming box, which brings some elemental, vision and masked heroes. still, destiny heroes are probably going to be the superior species for now.
that being said, neos is usually only used as fodder for blazeman so. doesnt help that neospacians are godawful.
and I feel you. I had three copies of neos one week after gx world release without farming or dueling him level 40, getting one neos from a 2k duel assessment against level 10. meanwhile I was farming for like 3k colored keys on mai to get her amazoness swords woman, which I eventually only got two copies of before I ran out of keys. rngesus is a fickle being.
doesnt make it better that I got a swords woman from mai level 20 earlier this week by autoduel.

One of the few fanfics I still actively follow posted an update and it wasn't an April Fools joke?! Good day confirmed

Banpresto really knows how to use the sax in their SRW adaptions of anime openings

69 wins........HUE HUE HUE
"It's a sex thing!" Ray Narvaez Jr., 201X. From some Let's Play that I'm not looking up right now.

Why did they have to put turnwheel for changing turn phases right next to the surrender button?! This is the fifth time I've surrendered because either the mouse stuttering or nerves causing me click somewhere I didn't mean to. This is honestly bad game layout, imo.

Damn Tristan was tough. His voice really does give him super strength.

@Ojama Yellow Well Bibs, I did the troublesome Idea I suggested yesterday and went ahead and aimed to get 40 wins in the Ranked Duels (for the second R-ticket) before this season ended............then I decided to go further and nearly drove myself insane getting to 60 wins for another SR ticket. Still easier than waiting on Kaiba to drop one and spending all my white keys on it.
With how many time I had to eat an "Enemy Controller" today I almost don't want to spend this on a third enemy controller but practicality forces me to. I really wish there was an easy way to get 'Disruption Wall' too because damn did that cause some headaches.
Spoilerthe fall
Getting to Gold 4 with this deck really surprised me (with it jumping between 3 and 4 a few times), even though a series of losses at the end made fall back down to Gold 2. Oh, there were losses.......so many losses.......but I would still say my wind rate throughout might have been 40%. I was even able beat two or three Alien decks and a few Sylvs, mostly through surprise.
I have to say more than anything that "Gravity Lash" saved my ass more times than I can count; it's probably the only reason I was able to get in about a third of those wins, tbh. Still, I would say the bricked about 10% of the time, but what to you expect from a cobbled together deck from someone with no deckmaking skills? This was made to take on A.I., not humans with creative thinking.
Spoilermost of the stuff remained the same as when I started with PVP three or four days ago, with minor tweaks as I got new cards
Side note 1: after unlocking him, I have unironically grown to love using Chazz and his Ojamas. I probably won't bring that to PVP but damn is it fun to mess with the A.I. I even did this to the Vagabond, with full Ojama representation; are you proud of me Bibsy?
it was pure good luck, but don't ruin this for me Bibs!SpoilerAlso, isn't the Vagabond supposed to ask for people's friend code when you beat him? Four times in total now, and he hasn't asked once.
Side note 2: I still lol that this thing is Secret Rare. The on Duel Links.......it just seems so out of place with all the other SRs.

With how quick Cyber Dragon can get on the field, I don't blame them either........and I don't even have a full grasp of how annoying cyber angels are/were (didn't encounter any in gold or lower) and only know how annoying Cyber and Cyber Twin are by how thoroughly they beat me most of the times.
Fucking double attacking TwinIt's definitely a funny situation, since most of the other forms suck, with Chimeritech Overdragon being situational at best
if I remember correctly. Not sure how that translated into Duel links. -
cyber angels have been nerfed into the ground, with both dakini and machine angel ritual getting semi-limited. and through the way the banlist works in duel links, you can only put two dakini, two machine angel rituals, or one dakini and one machine angel ritual in your deck. the fact that theyre still viable is horrifying.
basically a matchup against the horror that was pre-nerf mind scan cyber angels went as following. you go first, summon monster, set mirror wall, set windstorm, end turn. youre horrified because you know whats coming and didnt draw econ. keep in mind that pre-mind scan allowed you to see your opponents facedowns as long as you have 3000 or more lp.
his turn and the fun starts. he summons senju of the thousand hands, searches his deck for cyber angel idaten. proceeds to use machine angel absolute ritual to ritual summon cyber angel idaten with cyber angel benten as a tribute. idatens effect allows you to search your deck or graveyard for any ritual spell card and add it to your hand when ritual summoned, he chooses machine angel ritual. then, cyber angel bentens effect allows him you, when used as a tribute for a ritual summon, search your deck for a light fairy monster. cyber angel dakini gets added to the hand. he activates machine angel ritual to tribute the idaten on the field and sonic bird in his hand to ritual summon cyber angel dakini. idatens effect, when used as a tribute for a ritual summon, automatically pops. all ritual monsters your opponent controls gain 1000 attack. the mind scanner doublechecks your backrow. no econ. perfect. cyber angel dakinis first effect pops. youre forced to choose a monster on your side of the field and send it to the graveyard. you have no choice but to send your only monster. your monster field is empty, and youre faced with a 3700 attack dakini whose second effect gives piercing damage to all ritual monsters your opponent controls, and a 1400 attack senju. you could use windstorm, but really, whats the point. you cant even destroy dakini next turn, because by banishing machine angel ritual from the gy, hes able to negate the destruction by battle or effect of a light fairy monster he controls once. moreover, dakinis third effect allows him to add a ritual monster or machine angel ritual from his gy to his hand in his end phase, meaning he gets back either idaten for another +1000 next turn, or gets back machine angel ritual to set up for the summon of another dakini. as you realize how hopeless life is against this glorified solitaire deck, you decide to not pop your backrow to end your suffering quickly.
and that is the story of how I get nam flashbacks whenever someone says cyber angel.

R.I.P. Event Tea. Your Lvl 30 won't be missed by me, though. Now if only I had 'Sanctuary of the sky' so I could use your drops. I'm only 5 ranked duels away from an R ticket, but I actually have to win them. Not sure if there is any other good R cards in the pool I would be tempted by though.
Also, what are the chances of pulling both an UR ritual monster and it's ritual spell in the same pack? I think I used up all my luck for this year deciding to buy two from this set on a whim.

enemy controller is the single most splashable card in all of duel links barring none. get three copies asap. I checked feather and it basically forces you to throw away two cards in your hand to have a guaranteed draw next turn, which is defo not optimal. hallowed life barrier also kind of suffers from the discard cost- usually cards that require to discard arent the greatest, unless you built your deck around that.

-
so I went to check the r ranked ticket rewards to see which were worth and what I came up with were the following.
monsters
- oyster meister is in the current meta the only of the monsters in this list that is viable, and only in golden flying fish decks. if you arent planning to use those, might as well skip. if you do want to play golden flying fish, three copies of oyster meister is absolutely mandatory.
- dark driceratops is probably the only tribute monster you will ever want to use in dino decks ever, but tributes kind of suck so you wont ever need more than one, if you even want to put it in.
- kiseitai can also be relevant, but thats in disgusting ojama go or destiny draw burn decks and if you play those I will severely judge you. also, it can be obtained as a drop from weevil, and weevil is like one of the easiest duelists to farm ever so its not worth spending tickets on.
spells
- the sanctuary in the sky. of course. the field spell counter trap fairies are centered around. very good card to have currently, especially if you got the resources to play counter trap. recommended.
- storm is unexpectedly viable in duel links, though you need to be careful of how you use it. storm can be obtained as a drop from odion, though, and like weevil, odion is very easy to farm.
- transmodify can be pretty good. ive used it before in venus/mystical shine ball creature seizure decks, and atm it can also function in counter trap fairies to bring tethys out.
- berserker crush is...okay, no, thats a joke, I just wanted to mention that one because its the card I am going for after I have three sanctuaries. gotta meme.
traps
- hallowed life barrier. probably the most splashable card in the entire list (barring maybe storm), but also suffers from a good amount of cards doing its job better. especially good in decks that like stalling, because the text written on it is kind of wrong- it not only protects you from all damage done by attacks or effects, it also protects your monsters, all of them, from being destroyed that turn.
- astral barrier. fun memes in combination with spirit barrier, not really worth it otherwise.
-
I am so tempted to spend my last UR ticked on the original artwork BEYD, even though I know it's a waste.
I got Big Shield Guardna and Riryoku with the other two UR tickets. Twin-Barrel Dragon (which is off the market right now) and Airknight Parsh look good, but......
I only have till tomorrow to use them.
@Wolfox @Ojama Yellow advice?

And the animations for classic Mazenkiaier, Nightingale, and G-self (perfect pack) have been uploaded and are great. It is a tad strange to hear Koji's new voice coming out of classic Mazenkaiser, but it's still great. After 15 years, Nightingale is back as a playable unit.

The Hi-Nu Gundam's animations are just as good as I imagined, though I haven't found a full video yet.
