I'm afraid inventing nicknames is literally the thing I'm most incapable at. I think there are only two pokemon I have ever given a nickname and I'm not really proud of those.

It is no coincidence. There is a sidequest, where you will get a mystery egg if you give a Growlithe egg to a police officer. But to get a Growlithe egg, you need a female Growlithe and therefore the given Growlithe will always be female.

I found several Torkoals in the Rock Smash zone. There are much Binacles, but it shouldn't take too long to find a Torkoal. I think I found 7 Torkoals in about an hour.

I have issues with the ability of A-vulpix. The Snow Cloak ability works just fine, but whenever a Vulpix has the Snow Warning ability, it seems it can't choose between the two abilities and it randomly chooses one when you want to look at its stats or when you send it into battle.

Lombre can be found on Route 4. Ludicolo has a variety of advantages against Valerie 1. 4x resistant against water type moves 2. Swift Swim lets you always move first 3. Great special defence (Valerie uses a more special attack oriented team) The only thing is that you have to breed that Lombre to raise a Lotad to level 30 (or 36) so that it can learn Giga Drain (or Energy Ball).

I really don't know how to change genders in RPG, but I could give you a 6IV male Gible? I think that will solve your problem too

I've spended more than three days to get a shiny Gible with the non-31-IV in the Sp.Atk stat... I still don't have one... I probably won't use it, because I really dislike Garchomps... But the colours look so nice... I don't know what to do... Sad me

I still don't have a favourite pokemon: it's a close tie between Aegislash and Shuckle, but since Aegislash is only available late in game, I'll go for this guy: You can name it Chuck
