    To get to the point, I was wondering what would happen if a pokemon uses a move with double STAB. For example on the Electric Terrain. Surf deals additional electric damage. What would happen if Lanturn used Surf on this field? (a water/electric type) Would the move gain a double STAB bonus?

I'm currently studying, while reading about all those people having fun playing V10 and all those topics regarding some sidequests, which I don't want to read because of spoilers.     Ow oops, you're right. I thought Pure Power only boosted the attack stat by 1,2x or something like that. So, Medicham is a good alternative for Gallade and I think that they're just as good as each other.

    Medicham doesn't have a really high Attack stat and it's quite fragile, so I think Gallade is the better choice

    I have used Gallade once and it didn't disappoint me, but like you said: it isn't the best pokemon. I've used this moveset: Swords Dance - use this one time and you can almost OHKO everything Psycho Cut - STAB Close Combat - STAB Night Slash - coverage against any Ghost types If you switch him in when the opponent is using a special attacker, he has a good chance to set up Swords Dance and after that it hits really hard. Conclusion: worthy of consideration

    In my Ice Mono, Kiki was the easiest gymleader. Jynx+Lovely Kiss+Fieldboosted Psychic managed to destroy all 6 pokemon withouth even taking damage. Shelly was really annoying to beat, because I only had three Ice types at that moment.

    Try to beat Charlotte with only Steel types. Really, try it. It's really funny. But not for you.
