After resting up in the PokeCenter, I left and went back to the building I woke up in after being knocked out by Hardy. As I got closer, I saw Shelly out in front. Cain and her must have gotten back from Agate Circus already. Matthew: Hey Shelly. Shelly: Hey Matthew. Ohh. I-Is that your Stantler? Matthew: Somewhat. I saved it and now it lets me ride around on its back but I never caught it so… You know. Shelly: Well it’s very cool. Especially since it’s shiny. Stantler: -goes over to Shelly and nuzzles her and licks her cheek- Matthew: -chuckles- You 2 will make good friends. Ohh yea. Is Cain in here? Shelly: Yea. We got back not that long ago. Matthew: Alright. I’ll get the HM and then we’re gonna leave for Ametrine. Shelly: Alright. Sounds like a plan. I walked into the building. Cain was there along with Hardy, Noel and Anna. I walked up to Cain. He handed over the HM Machine for Dive. We hugged each other and then I left. I got Shelly and then her, me and Stantler started to walk back to Ametrine Mountain. It was a long trek but it was a nice walk. Shelly and I talked about what happened when the group split up. And I eventually told her about me and Laura splitting up. She didn’t know what to say but with her company there was enough for me. Before too long, we were inside the mountain. We went in search of the giant iceberg. We finally found it. Shelly looked up at it. It was massively huge. Shelly: Wow… That’s huge. Matthew: Yea. It is. Alright. Here’s what we’re gonna do. You and Rudie are gonna stay here. I’m gonna have to go for a dive into the… frigid… cold… waters… to get into this thing. And then I’ll see what I can do from there. Shelly: Well… Ok. I guess that’s just a good plan of any. Matthew: Rudie, make sure you help Shelly out if anything or anyone tries causing problems for her alright? Stantler nodded its head yes and I went in search for a body of water. When I found it, I brought out Clawitzer and surfed on it to the middle of the water. Then I had it use Dive. I braced myself for the cold water engulfing me and boy was it cold. It was FREEZING! I had Clawitzer move as fast as it could through the water below. When we made it to a certain point, I had it resurface. I gasped in that sweet air but also cursed it for it made me even colder than when I was underneath the water. I looked over and could still see the giant iceberg. I then had Clawitzer surf across the water until it reached the end and then had it dive again. It was so, so cold. Clawitzer moved as fast as it could in the water. I couldn’t take it anymore and had it resurface. This time though when we resurfaced, we were somewhere else. On closer observation, I was inside of the giant iceberg. I got out of the water and right in front of me was a machine but not just any machine. It was a PULSE Machine. And what was on it? A giant Avalugg. When it noticed me, it roared out in pain. I felt bad for it. The machine seemed like it was going haywire. I didn’t want to hurt the Avalugg but there didn’t seem to be any other way to free it. So I had to battle it. After the battle, the Avalugg freed itself from the machine and bashed away the giant iceberg. Finally, the path was freed. I felt good about it but was also freezing myself to death. Shelly was now visible. She ran over to me. Shelly: Matthew! Are you ok?! Matthew: B-Besides being very cold and v-very wet, yes. Shelly: Well hopefully, you’ll feel warm soon. Matthew: M-Me too. Shelly: So what happened? Matthew: T-There was an Avalugg attached to a P-PULSE Machine. I fought it and it was a-a-able to free itself and crashed down the iceberg. Shelly: So… this is 1 of the Meteor’s PULSE Machines? Matthew: Yea. I’ve had to shut down a c-couple of them. Shelly: But… isn’t it strange? Matthew: What do you mean? Shelly: I mean Team Meteor wanted to block off the mountain right? But wouldn’t they put it literally anywhere else? Matthew: Maybe they thought no 1 would be in-insane enough to dive underneath water. Shelly: Maybe… But there’s dozens of choke points in the paths they could have chose to easily block. This is such an open space. Matthew: Hmm… That is true. Shelly: It doesn’t make much sense but then again, maybe it’s just me. Matthew: Well whatever the reason, you ready to go find Heather? Shelly: Yes! Let’s get going. The 2 of us ventured the rest of the way up the mountain. It was quite tricky since there was ice all over the place along with me freezing but my clothes were starting to dry at least. We finally got to the top and exited the mountain. We walked up to the city. It was different. Wasn’t used to seeing snow everywhere. It was definitely a scenery change. Shelly: Brr! It’s cold up here! Matthew: I’m pretty sure I know this. I had to dive into almost frozen water remember? Shelly: Ohh yea… Sorry. Matthew: It’s ok. So what should we do? Shelly: Well no matter what, I’m definitely finding Heather. Matthew: Me too. Shelly: We should split up and ask people around her if they seen anyone that fits her description. Matthew: Alright. Sounds like a decent plan. Shelly: And then after we talk to everyone, we should meet up somewhere. Somewhere… suspicious. Matthew: Umm… why a suspicious place? Shelly: Why not? I’m going to look for something like that once I’m done though! Good luck! Shelly ran off to try to find information on the whereabouts of Heather. I found it odd that she wanted to meet up at a suspicious place but then again, this was the 1st time in a long time I saw her really enthusiastic about something. Yea. That took me like 50 tries. Probably less but still. And I tried my best to not spam healing/reviving but I probably wouldn't have been able to beat this Gym Battle if I didn't. And I didn't forget. It's still not technically apart of the team. More like a... Pokemon Traveling Companion. But I think next time I'll make a separate thing for it and include it for the rest of the episodes.

Matthew: -grunts and groans- Ow… My face… Anna: He’s awake! He’s awake! I slowly opened my eyes and was fully up. I looked around my surroundings. I had no idea where I was but I was on a couch and was surrounded by people I knew. Cain, Shelly, Anna and Noel. Anna seemed really happy I was awake. Anna: Hi Matthew! How are you? Matthew: Sore but I’m alright. Ohh… Cain… Listen man, I’m sorry but- Cain: I heard. Hardy told me. It’s ok. You didn’t do anything wrong. Besides, I feel bad for her captors. That girl will complain their heads off for sure. Matthew: Still though… I feel bad for it. Shelly: Well… I’m glad you’re safe Matthew. Matthew: Thanks Shelly. I missed the lot of you. Anna: Hey! Where’s your girlfriend? Matthew: Uhh... We’re umm- Cain: Complicated right now. Anna: Ohh. I’m sorry. I won’t ask again. Matthew: It’s alright. Shelly: Umm… Can I ask something? Anna: Sure Shelly! Shelly: You said you were following Heather, right? What happened? Cain: Let’s see. If I remember correctly, I caught up with her briefly. Then this older guy, I think his name was Blake, said he was going to take care of her. She seemed ok with it so I figured it was fine. The moment I heard Blake, I felt like I had gotten punched in the stomach. Both me and Shelly looked at each other. We both knew that was bad news for Heather. Now the mission to get to Ametrine City just got a lot more meaningful. Cain could see the look on our faces. Cain: Something wrong with that? Shelly: It’s just… I’ve only heard bad things about him… Matthew: And if anything Cal said is true, then he’s definitely bad news. Shelly: I need to talk to her. So… I-I’m going to Ametrine too! Matthew: You’re gonna have to wait. Shelly: But… why? Cain: The path is blocked. Ohh no. Anna: What’s wrong? Cain: I just remembered. Since the path is blocked off by that big ice wall, I’m afraid no food will be able to get to Ametrine City and the people there will starve. Shelly: Wait… Heather might starve? Matthew: Over my dead body. Anna: Wait. Hold on. If that’s the case, wouldn’t she just fly somewhere else? Shelly: I mean I guess… I still wanna go there and make sure though… Anna: So… there’s just a giant iceberg in Ametrine Mountain? I don’t remember that. Anna started to pace back and forth while trying to think of a solution of our predicament. It was actually kind of cute to see but I could tell she was serious about this. Cain: I’m pretty sure we can’t break or melt it. Anna: Hmm. What about climbing it? Matthew: I don’t think so. It’s like really smooth and tough. Anna: If that’s the case, then it’s easy! Shelly: It is? Anna: If you can’t break or melt it and you can’t climb it, there’s only 1 option left. Matthew: And that would be what exactly? Anna: You gotta go under it. Matthew: How the hell do we do that? Noel: The HM for Dive. Anna: Correct! 1 point for Nomos! Noel: I came up with… 2nd thought, sure. Nomos came up with it. Anna: Do you have the HM for it? Matthew: No. I don’t even know where it is. Cain: It’s back in Agate Circus. Matthew: You mean I gotta go all the way back there? Anna: Don’t forget the badge requirement to use it too! Matthew: Well… a Gym Battle sounds good right now. But still. Cain: Tell you what Matthew. I’ll go back down there while you go get your Gym Badge and I’ll bring back the Dive HM for you. Matthew: Ohh dude. You’re the best. Shelly: Can I-I come with you? Cain: Sure! I won’t be by my lonesome then. Matthew: By the way, who’s badge is it do I have to get to get this to work? Shelly: I’m pretty sure it’s Charlotte. Matthew: Charlotte?! Ohh man. I’ll finally be able to show her my true power. Anna: I’m sure if you tell her everything that’s going on, she’ll agree to it. Well what are you doing?! Get to it already! Matthew: -chuckles- Alright. Alright. I slowly sat up and stretched. All the bones in my body cracked when I did. I then headed out the door. Stantler was there waiting for me. It licked my cheek multiple times happy to see that I was ok. It accompanied me on my search for the Gym Arena. Has I was searching though, I came across Hardy and Saphira staring at the barricade made by the PULSE Machine Mr. Mime. I slowly walked up in between the 2. Matthew: Hey… Hardy: Hey mate. Matthew: Look, I’m sorry I- Hardy: No, I’m sorry. I reacted poorly and did something I shouldn’t have done. I just… I really care for her. They have Aya. I’m just so furious with them right now! I’m… Urgh! I’ll make them all pay! Aye! Come out here Meteor fuck heads! Hardy smashed his fists into the psychic barrier but of course no damage had been done. But then someone started walking towards us. Both me and Hardy couldn’t believe who it was. Matthew: No. Fucking. Way. Hardy: You have GOT to be joking me! Fern cockily strolled on up to the barrier. We couldn’t believe that he was on the other side of this area. But he wouldn’t have joined up with Team Meteor right? He wasn’t that much of an asshole right? Fern: Well Hardy, I finally realized why you chose Rock Types. Because you’re just as dumb as a bunch of them! -laughs- What’s up nerds. Hardy: Why are YOU over there? Matthew: Seriously. Like… you’re not that stupid and ignorant right? Fern: Hmph. Ignoring what you said loser, it’s simple. I side with the winners. Team Meteor is going to recreate the world. I like the sound of that. But you know what I like better? I’ll be in my rightful place at the top. Matthew: At the top? Dude, you haven’t beaten me in the 5 times we’ve battled. Fern: Speaking of baby, your babygirl seems to be just another pawn in their game Rocky! Hardy: Give her back now or I swear, I will- Fern: Yea no. I know how you feel. I hate him too. But he’s just doing that to get a rise out of you. Fern: Psh. Wow. What a loser. I’m just kidding anyways. I’d never kiss her even if she were to pay me. Anyways, I got work to do. Later losers! -leaves the area- Saphira: Well… he seems like a pleasant person. Hardy: That’s not even the half of it. Matthew: He’s SO annoying! Hardy: But… I’ll save her. I’ll save Aya myself. Matthew: I know dude. Alright. You 2 do what you gotta do while I take on Charlotte for the Gym Badge. Hardy: Right. Good luck mate. I left the 2 of them there and continued my search. I then came across a building I swear I had seen somewhere. It then hit me. It was when I was with Wehttam in my dream. I walked up and into the gym but when I got in, I heard someone crying. I looked over and saw Laura crying. While we did have this rift between us, I still cared about her. Charlotte was there as well. Charlotte: Laura, I think you’re being too hard on yourself. Laura: But… How can’t I be? It has to be my fault somehow! Charlotte: Look, you know how Ame is. She probably made a mistake. We’ll figure this out but you gotta calm down. Crying isn’t going to help. Matthew: Iiiiis everything ok? Laura: Matthew… I’m sorry but I gotta… Wait no. I have to say this now. Laura walked up to me and stood in front of me. I could tell she was trying to be serious with whatever she was about to say but the tears that rolled down her cheek made it difficult for her to stay in that serious state. Laura: Before I tell you what I really need to tell you, I was just released of my Elite 4 duties. Matthew: What?! Why?! Charlotte: I’m not sure but we got a notification that Laura had been fired. Laura: And I’m already replaced apparently… Matthew: Wait… No way. I have to tell you something Laura. Laura: No… I have to tell you the other thing. The past couple of days… they haven’t been great for us and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. I’m sorry but we’re through. Matthew: Wait. Laura… We can fix this. We can- Laura: No. It’s time to let go. I can do this anymore. You’re free now Matthew. Now please, excuse me. Laura walked past me and out the door. I stood there in disbelief. I couldn’t believe that she just broke up with me. I felt the tears start to swell up in my eyes but I sucked it up and wiped my eyes. I looked up to Charlotte. I could see that she was feeling very awkward right now. Matthew: Sorry… I didn’t know she was gonna do that… Charlotte: It’s ok. I’m just… I’m sorry. Matthew: It’s ok. I’ll be fine… Really. Charlotte: Well… if you don’t mind, I’m gonna try to figure out what happened with her getting fired. You don’t mind right? Matthew: No… Do what you need to do. I’ll see you in a bit. Charlotte ran out of the Gym. I stood there for a couple of more moments and then sluggishly walked out as well. I didn’t know what else to do so I started to walk back to Saphira and Hardy. I was feeling really down about what had just occurred. I was somewhat snapped out of it though when I heard Aya screaming for someone to let her go. I ran over to Hardy and Saphira. Sirius: Ahh. You’re here as well. Excellent. Here are our terms. Matthew, you give us the Ruby Ring and you get Aya. If you deny though, then say good bye to this girl’s life! Matthew: I… I- Saphira: We aren’t interested in negotiating. Hardy: What are you talking about?! This is Aya’s life we’re talking about! Matt, just give them the ring! Matthew: Hardy, I- Saphira: Matt, whatever you do, do not hand over the ring. Matthew: -grunts in uncomfortableness- Hardy: What is so important about this stupid piece of jewelry?! It’s not worth killing her! Aya: Apparently some people disagree. Matthew: Aya, it’s not like that! Saphira: You don’t understand Hardy. Team Meteor aren’t a pack of thieves. Would you sacrifice my life over some stupid ring? I stumbled over my words not knowing what to say. I was filled with anxiety with all of this happening. But then I looked up at Charlotte. She gave me a quick wink. I knew what I had to say then. Matthew: I’m sorry Charlotte but yes. I would. Charlotte: How could you Matt?! I’ll steal the ring to save myself then! Charlotte then snatched the ring out of my hand, although to be honest, I wasn’t holding very tightly. Hardy seemed puzzled by everything that was going on. Charlotte then told Team Meteor to meet her at the Power Control Center. Charlotte ran away and Sirius went back dragging Aya along with him. I looked over at Hardy and could see the anger in his face. He rushed over to Saphira with his face very close to hers. Hardy: What is your problem?! You know what? No. I don’t expect anyone to care about her like I do but you could at least try giving a damn. Matthew: Hardy, please- Hardy: Back off mate! You’re no help here! Saphira: Do you have any siblings? Hardy: Do I- Huh? Yea. A sister and you 2 are basically the same. Saphira: So you’re not close. But when you’ve been through as much as my sisters and I have, you learn to have absolute faith in each other. That’s all we have and if we doubted that, we’d have nothing left. Hardy: Well I’ll give you this. That’s some kind of absolute faith you have. I don’t if you noticed or not thought but uhh… Your sister just ran off with the ring, which the only way to save Aya, because YOU got her upset! Saphira: Nope. What she did was just save Aya. For the time being at least. Hardy was confused by this. Saphira explained to him that if we had given the ring to them, they would have no problem killing people. So they didn’t think we had anything left of value, they had no reason to threaten Aya’s life. Saphira then asked me to confirm it and told me to go to where she said she was gonna go. I decided to go and check even though I knew she was right. I made it to the gate of the city and saw Charlotte sitting on a chair with a cocky smile on her face. Matthew: You’re something special Charlotte. Charlotte: Thank you. Glad you caught on. Matthew: If you didn’t wink, I probably would have at least a 50/50 shot at that. Charlotte: I’m glad you made the right decision. If we had done that, they would have more power and encouraged that kind of behavior. Rewards and punishment really. Matthew: Yea. I get what you mean. Charlotte: Good because I don’t care how callous that sounds. I don’t have the liberty of feeling guilt like most people. Matthew: You don’t feel guilt? Charlotte: Nope. That right burned away years ago. Matthew: I’ll make sure to ask that never. Charlotte: Anyways, here. -hands back the Ruby Ring- Matthew: Thanks. Charlotte: Since Team Meteor doesn’t know you have that, they’re going to be wasting their time going to the Control Center. Matthew: Double win. Charlotte: Exactly. Ohh yea. Anna told me about the issue with Ametrine. I guess that’s why you came to my Gym earlier huh? Matthew: Yea. I kind of gotten distracted with that whole Laura… thing… Charlotte: Yea. I’m still sorry about that. So you need to use Dive huh? I don’t know who’s bright idea it was for a Fire Gym user to enable a Water Type move but whatever. Matthew: Yea… That is weird. The hell? Charlotte: But hey. This is gonna be my 1st proper battle in mom’s Gym. I gladly accept your challenge. I wanna see how strong you;ve become since we last saw each other. Matthew: I know exactly how you feel. Charlotte: We should do it now while Team Meteor is distracted. Charlotte left and I prepped myself up for this Gym Battle. I had a feeling this would be the toughest Gym Battle I would have since being here. I ran over to the Gym but as I was about to go in, I heard Saphira yell. I ran over to see what was going on. On the other side of the psychic barrier, I could see Sigmund. Dr. Sigmund: Ahh. You’re here as well Matthew. You seem to be doing well. Matthew: No. Don’t talk to me. Saphira: Yes. You should be focusing on me. This barrier right here Sigmund is your life right now. And when it goes out, I swear on my own life, I will seek you out and strike you down. Dr. Sigmund: Yes, I’m well aware of your threats. Saphira: Ohh they’re not threats. They’re promises. I listened in as the 2 continued to throw insults to each other. It was kind of scary to hear Saphira threaten Dr. Sigmund like that but I knew in the end that he deserved it. I decided to leave them alone and go to the gym. I got there and went inside. I kept the Stantler inside even though it seemed like it wanted to come inside. I went in and went to the computer and touch the screen. Ame’s face popped up. Ame: Ohh hey Matt. Seems like you’re at Charlotte’s mom’s Gym ehh? Matthew: Yea. It’s hot in here. Ame: Niiiiice. Anyways, Charlotte uses Doubles like she did in her qualifying battles. Matthew: That sounds like it’ll be annoying. What else? Ame: If she’s anything like her mother, she’s gonna use a lot of Eruption and Heat Wave attacks. Matthew: Great. Double hitting attacks. Ame: That’s not all. Those will set the arena on fire which will power up her fire type moves. So you either extinguish the flames or literally fight fire with fire. Good luck Matt! With that, the screen went black. I started up the steps and was introduced with the puzzle of this gym. It was kind of like the “walking on all the ice once but don’t step on the same ice twice or else you’ll fall through” puzzle. Except this time, if you stepped on a tile twice, you’d burn your foot off. Luckily, I was lucky enough to not have that happen. I finally made it up to Charlotte. I stood on the opposite side of the arena. But just as Charlotte was about to say something, I heard a familiar Pokemon noise. Matthew: Hmm? -turns around- Rudie? What are you doing in here? Charlotte: Seems like he wants to battle. Why not use him? Matthew: Well I mean… he’s not really mine. I haven’t caught him in a PokeBall. Charlotte: Well that’s alright. Just don’t use 1 of the Pokemon inside your PokeBall. Matthew: Well I guess I could do that… Well Rudie? You ready for your battling debut? Stantler: -jumps up and down and licks my face- Matthew: I’ll take that as a yes. Charlotte: So what do you think of the gym? Matthew: It looks pretty nice. Charlotte: Yea. She had pretty good taste. It probably already shows but my mom was a Fire Type Gym Leader. Honestly, I didn’t mean to take after her. It just kinda… connected. Matthew: You ok Charlotte? Charlotte: The flames started to spread… at 1st, I was confused and scared. But then I realized what was happening. There was nothing I could do. So I just accepted it. Matthew: Accepted what to be exact? Charlotte: My parents death… But then I saw how really pretty they were… The fire I mean. Matthew: Uhh… You’re kind of scaring me Charlotte. Charlotte: When you realize you’ve done something that terrible, you have a choice to make. Matthew: And those would be? Charlotte: Accept the guilt or live with that burden for the rest of your life. So I accepted it. Matthew: Charlotte… I’m so sorry. Charlotte: It’s ok. I wasn’t interested in regret. You might think that I would have been traumatized by finding out I killed my parents right? But I didn’t. I embraced the flames. Fire is destruction. Destruction is beauty. When there’s nothing you can do about the creeping flame, just sit back and watch the show. So Matthew, I’ll put on a marvelous show for you! Just give into it already! The words Charlotte spoke kind of weirded me out but I didn’t have time to to feel like that, we had a battle to get too. This was a real tough battle. Probably the toughest Gym Battle I had ever had since coming to Reborn. But after a long, long battle, I came out victorious but just barely. I was also impressed with how good Stantler did. It knew some pretty good moves and the damage it did onto her Pokemon was great. Charlotte looked up at me and smiled. Charlotte: Nice job. Close match but it seems I’m still powerless. Matthew: You kidding me? You were the hardest battle I’ve had so far? Charlotte: Well thanks Matt… Maybe I’m not entirely free of guilt after all. Matthew: You’ll be alright in time Charlotte. Charlotte: I know… But it doesn’t matter right now. Here. This Cinder Badge is yours now which means you’ll be able to use Dive now. Matthew: Yea. I can save the people of Ametrine now. Charlotte: You do that Matt. Burn baby. Make Team Meteor pretty for me. I didn’t know what she meant by making them pretty for her but I wasn’t too sure I wanted to know. I exited her gym and walked over to the PokeCenter where I healed my Pokemon and had myself a little rest there. Pokemon Team REBORN CHARACTER RATES

No worries. In fact, you should be awaking very soon. Matthew: Ohh. Well good then. So where have you taken us this time. Just seems like the top of a building. Wehttam: Ahh yes. If you would, turn around and look below. There is more to this. I did as Wehttam had asked me to do and turned around. I saw the whole building that we were on top of. It was a really cool looking pink kind of color. But I never saw this building before. Matthew: Wow… This place looks awesome but I’ve never seen it before. Wehttam: That is correct. You haven’t. But when you do awaken from your slumber, this will be the place you will have to go to. Luckily, it is in the city known as Calcenon. Matthew: Well that’s a good thing. Won’t have to walk that much. Matthew: Well… either both of our souls would have been burnt away or just 1 of ours? Wehttam: Interesting. And… if just your soul burnt away? What then? I had never thought about that. I never thought 2 souls could occupy 1 body until Wehttam happened. I started to wonder. Would my body just sit there while his soul resided in a body that would be destined to rot away? We made it to some stairs and were just about to walk up them to get to Calcenon when a huge blast came from out of nowhere and almost hit Cain directly. Unfortunately, the stairs were totally destroyed. Matthew: Holy shit! Laura: What was that?! Aya: Oh my god! Cain! Are you alright!? Cain: I’m fine but holy moly. Whatever that blast was just barely missed me. Aww. You DO care. Aya: What? I do not! Hardy: Whatever that blast was, it came from over the city. Something’s going down. Aya: And to add to that, something’s coming down too. All of us looked up towards the sky and watched as the figure flew closer to us. As it got closer, some of us were able to notice who and what was coming down towards us. Matthew: Wait. A Dragonite? Isn’t that- Laura: Saphira! Saphira: Are you all ok?! Hardy: We’re gine but what’s going on up there? Saphira: Team Meteor had occupied Labradorra City and is using PULSE Machines to control the area. Matthew: I know some things about PULSE Machines. I was able to put some of them down. Saphira: You’re gonna come in handy then. Hardy: Ohh yea. We heard about the PULSE Mr. Mime on the news and we came to help. Saphira: I wish that was the only problem but not anymore? Laura: What’s going on now sis? Before Saphira could answer, a blast could be heard towards, what I only could assume to be, the city. Saphira flew back up with her Dragonite and fired a blast back. She then came flying back down to us. Aya: What is that? Saphira: That is Team Meteor’s assault. Now they have a PULSE Clawitzer seiging Calcenon from afar. Matthew: PULSE Clawitzer? Pfft. I doubt it’s stronger than my Clawitzer. Saphira: Don’t get a big head now Matt. Now as you can all see, I can deflect the attacks. But there’s collateral damage as you can see. I apologize for that. Cain: Ohh don’t worry about it. It’s fine. Just saw my whole life flash before my eyes. It’s no problemo. Aya: So basically a split-second porno? Cain: With slightly better dialogue. Matthew: Does it make anyone else uncomfortable how comfortable they are talking about it? Hardy: I second that notion. Saphira: Sorry. I can’t stick around to chat. There’s an entrance to the east. Go that way to get to the city. Laura: Alright sister. Be careful. Saphira then went back to the fight. We all watched as she vanished away into the sky. We all started to walk east as Saphira said to get to Calcenon City. As we made it to the bridge, a shot fired at the bridge destroying it. Aya, Stantler and I had luckily not been on the bridge when the blast connected. I could not say the same for Hardy, Cain and Laura however. I helped Aya back up to her feet and then we both looked down at our 3 fallen allies. Matthew: Holy fuck! That was close! Aya: Cain! Hardy! Laura! Are you 3 alright?! Laura: Ow! I landed on my back! Hardy: Oog… I’m good. Splitting headache though. Hit the rail. Cain: Geez. You just can’t catch a break can you Hardy? Hardy: What do you mean mate? It was an awkward silence except for Stantlers once in a while grunts and noisy hooves. I could see Aya seemed confused about something though. Aya: So… why don’t you just put it in its PokeBall? Matthew: Ahh… It’s not technically mine. Aya: Wait. Did you kidnap this Stantler?! Matthew: No no! I just didn’t catch it. Aya: What? Why? Matthew: It didn’t want me to. Maybe it’s not ready or maybe it just wanted to repay me for saving it. Aya: Saving it? Matthew: Yea. An Ursaring and Machoke were beating it up and I battled the 2 and made them run away and then I helped heal up Rudie here. And when I went to come back to the circus after finding Hardy, it was outside waiting for me and offered me a ride on its back ever since then. Aya: Ohh wow… That’s a sweet story. I can see why Rudie really likes you. Have you ever battled with it? Matthew: No but that’s up to Rudie after all. Aya: Hmm. You’re really kind to your Pokemon aren’t you? Matthew: Yea… They’re my family. So yea. I am. As we were making it up a hill, we heard another blast attack hit something. When we continued forward, we could see another bridge had been destroyed. Most likely another stray blast. We were both annoyed by this because it probably meant we would be coming into the city later than sooner and it was already starting to get dark. We found another cave and ventured into there but as we got in more, we saw a pair of some Team Meteor Grunts. We engaged them in battle and surprisingly worked rather well together. Maybe it was because I had a couple of Poison Types on my team or maybe we just clicked well when battling together. But when we went into the next cave, we found ourselves in some kind of beaten down warehouse kind of place. It seemed out of place here. Matthew: What is all of this? Aya: I have no clue. I thought it was just supposed to be a random cave but… this is way too strange. We continued through the cave and continued to battle more Team Meteor members. There were quite a lot of them but we were able to get through them. As we continued to walk, I wanted to know the relationship between Hardy and Aya. Matthew: Soo… I ain’t your brother and I’m not the time to pick on you. So be real with me. Are you and Hardy together? Aya: No! I mean… Of course not! Matthew: Aya, like I said, not gonna make fun of ya. Aya:… Ok fine. Yea. We are. Matthew: There. Now was that so hard to admit? Aya: Shut up. -chuckles- Matthew: Hey. I could see something brewing there the last time I saw you 2. Aya: Yea. He is a really great person. So sweet and kind. I can’t stop thinking about him. Matthew: You 2 deserve each other. We’re… not really doing too good. Aya: Yea. I could feel the tension between you 2. Matthew: She was totally eyeing up another dude and since I accused her of it, it’s been bad ever since. Aya: You have any proof of that? Matthew: Ohh hell yea. I would never do that unless I knew for sure. Aya: Well you haven’t given me any reason to not believe you. I’m sorry that’s happening. Matthew: It’s ok. Something’s eventually gonna happen. We continued to walk through the cave but once again, we came upon the warehouse like area. Aya was about to walk through a door but I stopped her and motioned for her to hide on the corner of the door while me and Stantler hid on the other side. I peeked into the room and could see only 1 Team Meteor grunt but I knew who it was. Since I couldn’t see any other grunts in there, I felt more confident we could take this person out. Matthew: Alright. You ready Aya? Aya: Yes. Matthew: Alright. And Rudie, just in case, stay in here. If I need you, I’ll shout out to you to help alright. Stantler licked my face, which I took as it agreed to me. Aya and I walked into the room and walked upwards to the Team Meteor Grunt. Turns out there were 2 more but that didn’t bother me. At least for now. Matthew: Well, if it isn’t you Eclipse. Eclipse: Ohh good. It’s you. Aya: You 2 know each other? Matthew: We’ve been in battle before. And if you’re here, that means that- Aster: Well lookie here! Look who showed up! Matthew: Yep. There’s Aster. Aster: Hey! I’ve caught onto you Matt! All those nice things you’ve said to me were just to distract me so I wouldn’t be able to catch onto what you were doing! Well not anymore! Matthew: Somehow, I don’t believe that. Eclipse: You’re right to think that Matthew. Aster: Grunt! Go for back-up! Team Meteor Grunt: Y-Yes! -leaves area- Eclipse: Aster, is that really necessary? Aster: I know exactly what you mean Eclipse! Eclipse: I don’t really think you do. -sighs- Let’s just get this over with. The battle came to an end and I was so thankful for having Aya here. If she wasn’t here, I would have for sure lost this battle. But I could tell something. Eclipse didn’t put her all into this battle. It was as if she wasn’t even trying. But what happened next shocked me. Eclipse: I’m done. You 2 win. Aster: No Eclipse! Don’t give up! We fight to the end! For Team Meteor! Eclipse: Let me rephrase that. I’m not done. I’m quitting. Matthew, Aya & Aster: What?! Eclipse: And I’ll prove it even further that I quit. Matthew and… other girl, I’ll even turn off the PULSE Clawitzer ofr you. Eclipse went over to the computer screen and punched in a different keys and the screen read “PULSE Clawitzer deactivated.” Me and Aya looked at each other. While this isn’t what we came here for, we had done something really good to help with the fight against Team Meteor. Eclipse: That’s what you came here for right? Matthew: Actually- Aya: We just got lost and wandered in here. Eclipse: Ohh… Well I’m glad you did. I wanted to do that. Aster: I don’t understand. What in the hell are you doing Eclipse? Eclipse: Seriously man? I LITERALLY said it 3 different times! You really are that dumb aren’t you? Aster: But I… Why?! We were going to change the world together! Eclipse: Yea. Well, I’m backing out on that now. This is not the change I wanted. Since we’ve joined, all we ever seem to do is hurt more and more people. And Pokemon as a matter of fact. You think these PULSE Machines aren’t hurting them? Aster: B-But in the end- Eclipse: This isn’t worth the end! No 1 we love will be in the new world! So what is even the point?! Aster: I don’t understand… Eclipse: That’s right. You don’t. You never had a family. You were brought up on the street and the only 1 you ever had to look out for was yourself. Couldn’t be happier for you. But I don’t care. My father lives in Calcenon City. If 1 of the Clawitzers’s attacks hits his house, then that’s it for him. We may have been assigned to guard the power station for it but I can’t just sit here and make my dad in Schrodinger’s Meowth. Aster: Who’s what now? Eclipse: And ever since I was teamed up with you, I’m pretty sure I lost IQ points. Eclipse seemed to really be giving it to Aster. Aya and I were contemplating just sneaking out but just as we were about to, Eclipse started to talk about Team Meteor. Apparently, Solaris was the original leader of this team but then started to talk about Lin and how she started to raise through the ranks. But just as she was about to talk about her, a voice shouted out. Sirius: Chandelure, kill her! Eclipse: Aughaughaugh… Aster: Eclipse! Matthew: Holy- Aya: Shit! Sirius: Turncoats will not be forgiven. Aya: W-What’s happening to her?! Sirius: The flames of a Chandelure burn away the soul. Just hearing that sentence made my stomach feel ill but I didn’t know if that was my actually stomach or if Wehttam had something to do with it. But while my focus was on that, Sirius tried to do the same to me. Aya, pushed me to the ground and got in the way. Sirius then grabbed Aya by the hair. Matthew: Hey! Let go of her dude! Aya: Ow! Ow! Ow! Sirius: Silence the both of you! You Matthew… You have friends headed to Calcenon correct? Matthew: That’s of no concern to you. Sirius: Heh. Change of plans! You, girl, will make a fine hostage. Let’s move. Aster: I… I’m not gonna leave Eclipse. Eclipse: Do what you will with the body. She’s gone. Destroy the entrance Aster! Aster grabbed Eclipse’s body and waited for Sirius and Aya to get out of the area before destroying a big portion of it. I looked in the direction they left. I felt horrible. Aya saved me and she got kidnapped because of it. I felt so bad for letting this happen. I felt like we had just gotten closer and now she was gone. And then another thought popped into my head. Hardy. How would he take this? I had no other option except to continue to get to Calcenon City. When I got out of that area, the rest of the way to Calcenon was just a snowy, grassy way. A couple of trainers to beat but that couldn’t even distract me from what transpired in that cave. I finally reached the gate that lead into Calcenon but sitting there was Hardy. I got off of Stantler and psyched myself up for this. I walked up to him. He seemed happy to see me. Hardy: Yo Matthew! Matthew: H-Hey Hardy… Hardy: Cain went off to go see some friends of his who are up here I guess and Laura went to see her sister. Matthew: That’s good to know… Hardy looked back where I came in from to see Aya but he didn’t see her. His happy expression turned into a worried 1. I took a deep breath and told him what happened. His worried expression then went from being worried to extremely pissed. He hopped off of the chair he was on and walked up to me. Matthew: H-Hardy? Dude? Hardy: What is your problem? I was expecting you to protect her and you couldn’t even do that?! Matthew: I get that you’re angry but you don’t even know what happened! All my Pokemon were fainted and- Hardy: You still let her get taken away mate! How can I forgive you for that?! Matthew: I-I… didn’t mean to… Hardy: You son of a- With a powerful yet swift motion with his arm, Hardy punched me square in the face but even before I hit the ground, I was completely knocked out. I hopped onto the back of Stantler and rode it out to Route 2. It was still as breath taking as ever to see the mountains again. When we got to the house of Titania and Amaria, I got off of Stantler and went inside. I saw Titania by a desk reading something on the table. She noticed me when I came closer to her. Titania: So you got the badge huh? Matthew: Yep. Was pretty tough but in the end I- Titania: Amaria is out for a walk so I’ll get the Machine for you. Matthew: O-Ohh. Ok then. Titania: It’s messy in the back. Might take a while to find it. Matthew: Yea. It’s no problem. Titania left to go search for the Machine. After about 5 minutes, I started to get bored. I looked all around the house but that wasn’t doing anything for me. Then I noticed the book Titania was reading before I came in here. I went over to the table and started to read it. It was her diary. As I read it, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Titania was faking loving Amaria like that just so she wouldn’t hurt herself. I was taken aback. Then from out of nowhere, I heard Titania to catch whatever she was throwing to me. Luckily, I looked in time and caught the disc but I knew I was in trouble. Titania: What are you doing Matt? Matthew: I-I was just… What I mean I… Uhh… Titania: Were you just reading my diary? Matthew: Uhh… Noooooo… Titania: Psh. Lying. How childish. With no other choices left, Amaria raced over to the desk and started reading the diary. It was over. Everything Titania had written would be known. Amaria lifted her head with tears filling her eyes. I felt so bad for her. She looked over to Titania. Amaria: You… you don’t love me do you? Titania: I would… It just wouldn’t be in a romantic way. I was afraid if you knew, you hurt yourself and I acted stupid. I’m sorry. Amaria: Titania… Being with you was like… someone was picking up the shards of my broken heart… But now it’s just shattered again… I gotta go… Amaria started to run out of the house. Titania called out to her but she didn’t listen. Titania ran out of the house chasing after her. I followed suit. When I got outside, I got Stantler to follow me. There was no time to try to climb on top of it. We raced all the way to a little land in the middle of what looked like a river. But very near it was a waterfall. On the little land was Titania and Amaria and Amaria was standing at the edge. I stayed at the side. I was afraid she might jump. Titania was trying to make Amaria go back home but it didn’t look good. Amaria: Titania… how long have you felt like this? Titania: -sighs- Since the beginning… Amaria: So… you never loved me? Just all out of pity? Titania: No. Not pity. Just… a misguided judgment. Let’s go back home and we’ll talk about- Amaria: No! If you never loved me, then everything we had was just a lie? You were my world you know? But I suppose I was just your prison. Titania: No Amaria. It’s not like that. It- Amaria: It won’t be anymore. Matthew: No no no! Amaria! Don’t! Amaria jumped off the waterfall and plummeted down to her death. She had to of died. Who could survive this? Then it hit me. 2 things actually. The 1st is that this reminded me back when Corey did this. It’d been a long time since I last thought about that. The 2nd was I remembered that I saw this. It was in Shade’s Gym on the computer monitors. It was 1 of those deaths that was foretold. But this 1 was a bit different. That 1 seemed to have showed Titania push her off while this 1 showed her trying to save Amaria. Why was that 1 different? Titania yelled out to me which snapped me back to reality. Titania: Hey Matt! I don’t know why you’re spacing out but I’m going after her! Matthew: What? But she- Titania: She made it. I know she did. But I won’t have a way back up. I’m gonna leave that up to you. Matthew: How am I gonna rescue you guys from down there. Titania: The Machine for Waterfall. Get it, get the badge for it and then save us. Matthew: I… Yea. I’ll do it. Titania: And I swear, if you don’t, I will haunt you for the rest of your life. Matthew: Alright! Alright! I said I’d do it. Just… be careful alright? Titania: Right. Here I go! Titania stepped back and then ran full force forwards and jumped off into the waterfall just as Amaria did. I stood there for a few seconds trying to comprehend what I just saw. Stantler nudged my arm. I slowly went onto it and started to ride back to where we had to go into the cave which was called Ametrine Mountain. When we got to the entrance, I had Stantler pause for a moment. I tried to get back in my mindset after what I had just witnessed. We walked into the cave and it was freezing. But I didn’t have any other clothes with me so I pressed on. We came to a river inside the mountain. I got off of Stantler and brought out Pistol Pete. Both me and Stantler carefully got onto its back and surfed across to get to the other side. When we got there, I returned Pistol Pete and got back onto Stantler. It didn’t take long before we ran into Aya, Laura, Hardy and Aya. Matthew: Holy fuck it’s called up here. Cain: Ohh hey Matt.~ Aww! That Stantler is so cute! Matthew: Yea. I saved him some hours back. His name is Rudie. Cain: Hi Rudie. Aya: Ahh. You’re here. Laura: Ohh. Great. Joyous me. Matthew: Not the time Laura. What’s going on here? Pretty and all but they ain’t gonna be able to grow nothin’ up there. Cain: Wait. Soooo you’re telling me that if this road is blocked off, no food can be brought to them? Hardy: Exactly my point. It looked massive and very strong. If this thing could destroy this thing, nothing could. It started attacking the giant ice block with massive hits but Gigalith started to tire out. When it stopped, we looked at where it was hitting the ice and could see that nothing had been done. Not even a scratch was made on it. Laura: Wow. I’ve never seen ice that strong. Cain: Maybe a Fire Type can melt it down? Hardy: I’m pretty sure it would tire out before this thing started to melt. Too thick. Cain: Heh. I know all about thickness. Hardy: You what mate? I rode Stantler all the way back into the circus. It was really fun to ride on it. I was hoping to do it again. When we got to the Big Top, I got off of it. Matthew: Wow Rudie. That was a lot of fun. Now you stay here til I’m done with my Gym battle alright? Stantler shook its head yes and stood in front of the Big Top. I was afraid of leaving it alone but I had ti believe it could fend for itself if something were to happen. I walked into the back room of the Big Top. Terra was there looking at the computer. I was shocked that out of all the people here that were wise with technology was her. But I had seen weirder things. I walked over to where Laura, Aya, Hardy and Cain were. They were talking about music and then of course Cain and Aya started to get in a squabble. As if that wasn’t awkward enough, Laura started in on me. Laura: So, did you enjoy being by yourself? Matthew: Actually, I did. It was really refreshing. Maybe if you go to Route 2, it’ll brighten up your attitude. Laura: Ohh is that so? Well too bad it didn’t do anything for your attitude. The entire ground is made of panels that trigger it. They were actually made for Terra, as any attack that hits the floor hard will activate them but the same can happen for Samson’s Fighting Types. Matthew: That’s good to know. What’s the 2nd part? Ame: If you use Ciel’s advantage part of the field against him, you’ll have no problem. Matthew: So Flying Types? Ame: Kind of. I went into a building to take an elevator down. Once I got out, I exited the building and I was finally in Route 2. It looked beautiful and felt peaceful. There were rocks and mountains everywhere around me. It had been a while since I had gone anywhere on my own and for the 1st time in a long time, I was gonna enjoy this. I started to explore the area not only for looking for Hardy but to take in the scenery. It was actually breath taking. The only thing that was bad is that it was snowing and the clothes I was wearing weren’t meant for that kind of weather. But I did prefer this to harsh sunlight or rain so I put up with it. I came across an area where there where I had to jump onto rocks to get to the next place. It was tiring work but I was finally able to get to the next area. When I got there, I found a cave where a Crustle came out of. It started to chase me so I started to run away. I came to a small closing where there was a green tree. There was this weird green liquid that was dropping from it. I pulled out my Powder Vial and caught a couple of drops from it. As soon as that happened, the Crustle appeared. It was rushing towards me. With nowhere to escape or anything to do, I through the liquid stuff at the Crustle. In a mere second, it stopped in its tracks and instantly fell asleep. I was so relieved. I then had to push the Crustle out of the way. I explored more of the area I was at and saw that there was an indent in the ground. I wondered why it was there and then I had an idea. I went back over to the sleeping Crustle and pushed it to where the indent was and pushed it into it. I looked up to the hill above me and could see now that I would be able to get to the other side. Then I finally understood why the Ringmaster gave me this Powder Vial. It was for the Crustle and to do this. I had to get up on some rocks again and jump around on them. When I got to the next area, I heard a Pokemon call. It sounded like it was in pain. I ran upwards and hid behind a rock. I peeked around a corner and couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. A shiny Stantler was getting beat up by an Ursaring and Machoke. I couldn’t sit idly by and just ignore what was going on. I got up from my hiding place and stepped out into the open. Matthew: Ursaring! Machoke! Leave that Stantler alone! The 2 bully Pokemon stopped attacking the Stantler and focused their attention on me. You could clearly tell they were enjoying the beating they were giving to that Stantler. Matthew: Alright you 2. I’ll give you a chance. You either peacefully go and leave this Stantler alone or you try to come at me and get beat up. The 2 of them looked at each other and then tried to rush me. I sent out TongueClumsy and Pistol Pete and had them use Acrobatics and Aura Sphere on the pair of Pokemon. They got blasted backwards and hit the mountainside. The 2 of them then got up and ran away before anymore harm could be done to them. I returned my Pokemon back to their balls. I carefully walked up to the Stantler which was clearly hurt but it still cowered in fear of me. I crept closer to it with my hand out. Matthew: Hey. Hey. It’s ok. I’m here to help you. It’s gonna be ok. I got closer and closer. My hand was almost touching it. It was still cowering in fear until it felt my hand rub its neck. It opened its eyes and looked into mine. I kept petting it so that it knew I meant no harm to it. It somewhat smiled but then crumbled to the ground. The injuries it sustained from the attacking Ursaring and Machoke must have made it exhausted. I knelt next to it and pulled out a Super Potion. I pet the Pokemon’s head a little bit. Matthew: Trust me. This is gonna sting a bit but you’ll feel better in no time. It’ll be ok. The Stantler looked at me and wearily shook its head yes. I started to spray the Super Potion to the areas it had sustained the most injuries. The Pokemon yelped in pain but it did not attempt to attack me or even flee. It laid there letting me help it. When I was finally finished, I could already tell that the Stantler was feeling better. It stood up, stretched and smiled at me. When I stood up, it started to rub its head on my chest. I smiled and dug around in my pockets and pulled out a Sitrus Berry and held it out in front of the Stantler. Matthew: You want this boy? The Stantler sniffed the berry a couple of times and then took a bite of it and then another bite and it had eaten the whole thing. I petted its head. Matthew: Alright. You seem to be all better now. Be careful around here alright. Later buddy. I then walked away from the Stantler. I hoped the Pokemon would be ok. For the next couple of hours, I had to jump onto rocks, make Crustles fall asleep and push them into place in order to get to other areas. It was hard work but I was surprisingly enjoying myself. I finally made it to a place where there weren’t any rocks. As I went up further, I could see a building. I got closer and closer and was soon right next to the building. There were 2 signs near the house. 1 sign was a regular Gym sign and the other said “Amy and Tania’s House! Welcome! <3” Then I remembered something. Amy. Could that be short for Amaria? I hadn’t seen her since the time we were trying to take out Team Meteor in the Blacksteam Factory. I quickly ran into the building and saw the familiar light blue haired girl on the couch. Matthew: Amaria? Amaria: Hmm? Wait. Matt? Is that you? Matthew: The 1 and only dudette. Amaria: Oh my god! It’s been so long! I’m surprised to see you here! Matthew: I’m surprised to see you here as well. I didn’t know you lived in this house. Amaria: -laughs- Well welcome to our house. Matthew: It’s quite nice. Amaria: Thanks. Ohh yea! Now you can meet Tania! Ohh Taniaaaaaa!~ Come here! A door opened above us. I looked and saw a woman with red hair, gray shirt and red pants coming down. She didn’t seem to really care that I was there which kind of made me feel uncomfortable but weirdly enough, I would rather be around her more than Laura at the moment. Amaria: Tania, this is Matthew. This is the 1 I was telling you about. And Matthew, this is Titania.~ Titania: Yea. Hi. Sorry about the mess. Wasn’t expecting company. Matthew: It’s ok. I didn’t expect to see Amaria here. Amaria: Speaking of which, what brings you here? Matthew: I’m looking for a dude named Hardy. Titania: You’re looking for my brother? Matthew: Ohh. I went upstairs and found Hardy lying on a couch. I don’t know why but something told me he was gonna be in pain when he woke up. I went over to him and tried to wake him up but he was still asleep. Titania came upstairs and moved me out of the way. She violently slapped Hardy multiple times in the face. It groggily got him up but then he went back to sleep. Titania even harder slapped him across the face multiple times until Hardy sat upright on the couch with his cheeks in pain. Matthew: Ow. Was that necessary? Hardy: Ow! Jeez! I’m up already! What the hell?! Ohh. It’s you sis. Should have guessed it was you. Matthew? That’s your name right? What’s up? Been a while man. Matthew: It has dude. I watched as Hardy left the room and went downstairs. It felt like I was with Cain and Aya but with worse arguments. Titania looked at me as if she didn’t understand why I was still up there. So I quickly followed in Hardy’s footsteps and went downstairs. When I got downstairs, a TV report was going on. Of course, it was Gardevoir that was doing the reporting. Gardevoir was talking with the Saphira in Calcenon City. Apparently, a showdown had started with Team Meteor and they somehow had taken control of another city called Labradorra. A lot of people evacuated but some weren’t able to and now were being held hostage. But in Calcenon City, some strong Pokemon trainers were fighting back. When asked what Saphira’s thoughts were on the situation, she responded by saying she wasn’t interested in negotiating with them and that they’d find a way around the barrier and rescue the hostages. Then Gardevoir said something that I hadn’t heard of in a while. The PULSE machine. Me and Amaria looked at each other cus we knew what they were back when I faced the PULSE Muk. They had hooked a Mr. Mime up to it which was creating the forcefield around Labradorra. Saphira then added that they were going to prepare 2 more machines within the city and would have 2 in the surrounding areas. Things looked bleak there. Gardevoir then signed out. It was silent for a while and then Amaria spoke up. Amaria: Matt… The PULSE… Matthew: I know… This is horrible. Hardy: There’s only 1 thing to do then. Titania: Leave it alone. Hardy: What?! Why? Titania: It’s not our problem. Hardy: It will be if they keep up things like this! They need help! Titania: You do what you want. Amaria needs to rest up. Hardy: Whatever you say sis. I’m going to Aya. Peace. -leaves the house- Amaria: Tania, is it really ok to just let it happen? Titania: It’s not our business. Besides, the less involved you are, the better. Titania: Some time ago, I was wandering around the Chrysolia Region and found a hidden lake. Across the lake, the ground was covered in ash. Probably from some sort of wildfire. Matthew: -whispering to myself- Charlotte and Vulpix… Titania: It was partially buried underneath the ash but somehow was unharmed by the flames. So I took it with me. Matthew: That’s… a very interesting story. Amaria: So they want this. Titania: Yes and we’re going to stay here. You’re not going anywhere near all of that. Matthew: Then I will. Amaria: Yea. He’s been crucial in defeating Team Meteor. So if he’s gonna go to Calcenon city, you need to go through Ametrine Mountain which means you need Surf. Matthew: Which means I’m going to have to defeat a Gym Leader right? Amaria: Yep! And also, we actually have Surf here. Matthew: That’s convenient. Titania: But we aren’t going to give it to him. Matthew: Why the hell not? Titania: Well if you don’t have the badge for it, what’s the point? Matthew: Alright. Alright. So what Gym Leader gives access for me to use it. Amaria: It’s 1 of the Circus’ leaders badges I believe. Matthew: Great. Then it’s back to the circus I go. Amaria: Wait wait. Matthew: What? Amaria: You won’t be able to battle them yet. Matthew: Why is that? Titania: You need a battle pass to face them. I guess it’s because it’d be too much to handle regular Gym Battles and their performances all at once. Amaria: Didn’t we get a promotion from them in the mail? Titania: Yea. I think we did. -gets the battle pass- Why in the world would they send a Battle Pass to 2 Gym Leaders? Matthew: Wait. You’re a Gym Leader? Titania: Yep. Matthew: Wow. Meeting 4 new Gym Leaders in 1 day. Titania: Yep. Anyways, that pass is for Samson. Beat him, come back and you’ll get surf. Matthew: Alright. Sweet. Thanks. Amaria: You can do it Matthew! Good luck! And with that, I exited the house. But to my surprise, there was something out there waiting for me. It was the Stantler from before. Matthew: Stantler? What are you doing here? The Stantler walked up to me and started rubbing its head and antlers on my chest. I was surprised it had followed me all the way up here. I petted it on its head. It then backed up and smiled at me. Matthew: You’re really happy I helped you earlier aren’t you? Stantler: -shakes its head yes- Matthew: Do you wanna come with me? The Stantler jumped up and down excitedly. From that, I guessed that the answer was yes. But when I went for my extra PokeBall, it knocked it out of my hands with its antlers. I was somewhat puzzled by this. Matthew: Do you not want to be caught right now? Stantler: -shakes its head yes- Matthew: Alright. I can do that. So let’s g- Huh? The Stantler was wavering to its head to the back for some reason. It took me a while for me to get what it meant but I finally got it. Matthew: Are you telling me to ride on you? Stantler: -shakes its head yes- Matthew: Really? That’s awesome! Wait before that, I think you deserve a nickname. Hmm… How about… Rudie? Stantler: -licks my cheek and nuzzles me- Matthew: I’ll take that as a yes. Alright. Well stand still and I’ll get on top of you. It took a bit of concentration and effort but I finally got on the back of Stantler. It felt awesome to be on the back of a Stantler. I had never ridden on a Pokemon before. I told Stantler to take me back to the beginning of Route 2. It began trotting down the route. This felt so awesome and nice. This Stantler was strong too. The 2 of us entered the gate to Agate City. When we went in, we saw Cain and also the 2 guards. They were still sleeping. How were they still sleeping? The last time Laura and I came up here, they were still sleeping and that was a day or 2 ago. It baffled me. Cain turned around and was happy to see us even though me and Laura weren’t really thrilled with the situation we were both in with our relationship. Cain: Hey you guuuys. Is… everything ok? Matthew: I’m not sure buddy. Laura: Yea… Anyways, what’s up with the guards? Cain: I don’t know. They’re still asleep for whatever reason. Matthew: How long can someone sleep? Especially in this position. Cain: I wonder if something happened to them to have them doing this. Laura: Maybe Sleep Powder? Matthew: Naw.
