Cal tells the player and Shelly why he decided to stop using red dye, but unless you'd want to elaborate on this, there's not really a reason to bring it up - we'd just need to know that Cal makes an appearance. I'm confused what it would have to do with the choice to say yes to Blake. I've never actually said "yes" to him, either, so there should be no correlation here^^

Either of the choices will gain and lose you points with characters, so the "best" choice depends on which characters you wanna get points with.

I only recently found it because I had a sudden hunch about who the artist could be, and it turned out to be correct. Don't worry; you can't make two accounts with the same name. Well, I mean, obviously you can use the same name here and for online play, but within the system, all names are unique. If you try to register a name that someone else already uses, you'll not be able to complete registration. PS: Yep, that'd count as a double post, and we generally try to avoid those here. Yeah, you'll definitely do well to be careful before charging into battles - the game is designed to be difficult, and sometimes even the regular trainers have 'mons with neat movesets on them. There's a lot of tips that can be given for the beginning of the game, but if you're determined to not lose any battles, my best suggestion would be to make sure you visit the Poké Center often, even in between random NPC battles, and search for hidden items when you can. There's lots of them, and you never know when those potions and status healers may come in handy... It is definitely possible to beat the game without losing - I know of at least one person who managed to nuzlocke it blindly. But if you charge into plot-heavy parts or boss battles without preparations, it can make for some surprises for sure c:

It just seems like a fun challenge. There's only so many times I could beat the game regularly before starting to ask myself how it'd go if I decided to restrict myself in some way. The game is challenging when you first play it, but once you start to get used to everything, it's not very exciting any more to beat the battles when you already know what kinds of tactics will guarantee you an easy win. Or, at least, that's how it went for me. I feel like it's just natural to want a challenge eventually, or else the game stops having replay value after a while. Trying to put extra rules on myself when I play makes me approach things from a different angle and come up with new strategies that I might not have thought to use before, and makes me use Pokémon that I usually don't pay attention to. (I mean, my Steel mono made me fight Julia with a Wormadam-T for an ace...) Of course, that doesn't mean you absolutely have to try out a mono if you don't think it'd be fun for you. I've seen all kinds of creative runs on here; there's people using only 'mons based on certain animals, or ones with a specific BST, there's rainbow runs and all types of 'lockes... Then there's completionist runs for collecting Pokémon or items, and now that the game is coming closer and closer to having all 'mons available, it's also getting easier to do character runs. A lot of people are trying monos with their favourite types, but it can be just as much fun to try to use a type you usually avoid, or one that you think is difficult to play with in Reborn. My last mono run was motivated partially by spite towards the idea that the normalbirds are useless

It's one of those topics that are bound to be a bit tricky, since the story concept of PULSE was created before Megas, but the current mechanic only afterwards. So originally, the idea was really just that Eve decided to build a machine to power up Pokémon, no mega evolution involved. But now that it does exist in canon, it wouldn't make sense if megas hadn't inspired it in-story^^ Out-of-story, though, it does predate megas. It just worked differently in the game back then and was adjusted later, because the mega mechanic was perfect for it, really. (I think it's funny that you bring up Porygon. The guy who came up with ZEL told me once that he thinks it would make a good choice for Eve's team despite not even being a Psychic type.) Edit: For a couple of fun facts, though: The PULSE idea was created specifically to make a backstory for ZEL. The characters were there first, and only when Ame wanted to use them for the game, she discussed with the creators of the Meteor characters what would make a plausible explanation for how the three ended up fused into one body. So they eventually came up with the idea that it was an accident during an evolution experiment. (Ditto/a DNA fusion experiment was considered briefly, too.) Naturally, then, there also needed to be a backstory for why the experiment was conducted - resulting in Ame writing the story you read in Lumi's diary. So technically, PULSE only exists to explain ZEL, and conveniently turned out to be a neat story element for the game as a whole.

^Prior to the introduction of Mega Evolution as a mechanic, the PULSE 'mons in the game didn't have any special appearance whatsoever - you'd just be fighting a regular-looking 'mon that in game-canon was meant to be superpowered. PULSE as an equivalent to Mega Evolution has only been introduced with Gen 6. Though of course, purely from a story point of view, rather than the game mechanics, I'd assume that Mega Evolution inspired Eve to create the PULSE system. She's said to have done a ton of research before starting on her work, it'd be impossible for her to not have come across mention of megas in some form or another. But naturally, getting the tools for real mega evolution would have been hard or even impossible for her. (In a place like Reborn even more so.) I'm pretty sure if Eve had access to the means of mega evolving something, she'd simply have grabbed, say, an Audino, instead of spending so much time developing and building machinery to evolve something else. She was rather in a hurry, after all.

I didn't wish for anything this year because I'm trying to save up as much money as I can for my US vacation next year. Subsequently, most of my holiday gifts for both my birthday and Christmas consisted of money and sweets. I did, however, also get an Arceus shirt from my sister. I'd consider the various cards I got from my friends loot, too, though! It feels really great to look at a whole stack of holiday cards/letters from all over the world. Reminds me that there are all kinds of amazing people who care about and love me. One of them sent me a cute card with a poofy lil' robin on it. Another compensated for the lack of birds on the card by drawing a hummingbird on the inside. My friends are wonderful people~

I guess what I'm most proud of this year is the progress I made in terms of regaining my confidence. It'll still be one hell of a long way, but I noticed that the moments in which I feel somewhat satisfied with myself have been more frequent during the past months. I'm very proud of the work I've done as part of the team on another website. After a full year in the position, it feels really good to have gotten so much positive feedback from the community, just knowing that they appreciate me. And it raised my confidence a lot to have other staff compliment me. I'm always so worried that I might not be able to keep up with them, hearing that they think I'm doing exceptional work does wonders to me. I'm proud that I am being seen as someone to rely on. I'm also satisfied to notice that I have gotten better at taking care of myself. I eat more, I'm better at keeping my apartment tidy, I go outside regularly even when I don't have uni. There have been less urges to harm myself, and more control over them. I befriended a cat in the neighbourhood, too.

Probably gonna sound a little silly, but for me it's gotta be Minerva McGonagall from the Harry Potter series.

You could start again on a new save file. That way you can still fix your team on the old save whenever you might feel like it. But IMO, starting over sounds like the more appealing option, especially with stuff like the relationship variables that couldn't be applied to past content from your old save. Can't hurt to work for that post game content. Plus, now that Online is a thing, you can just trade for 'mons whenever you like, so it's the perfect opportunity to build the exact team you want whenever you want.

So when's Team Meteor gonna get their Miniors? Never because I'll hoard them all. This is exciting! I'll probably still have to wait a small eternity for my best puppy Silvally, but I'm looking forward to all of it. tfw A-Ninetales for Lumi will never happen </3
