  1. Grass types' biggest issue I feel is their limited ability to deal with their weaknesses. Megazard Y especially is a massive pain to deal with and every grass type that can deal with him is really slow. Like it's possible to beat a flying team with a grass team but beating fire with grass is like really really hard to pull off. Thing about grass is that you can't rely on simply overpowering your opponent since it's likely not going to happen. Usually you need to wear them down slowly with status/life drain/hazards then have your heavy hitters clean up if possible, but regardless the type demands a patient playing style. Grass can actually be quite resilient when their weaknesses aren't exploited due their recovery options and ability to hinder opponents with status, helps that a few of them have reasonable bulk too. I think Megasaur is a good rep of the grass style and it helps that his ability lessens some of grass' defensive weaknesses, though he still falls victim to some of the bigger threats to the type.
  2. Ah yes, Olivia was my first win in S1. I actually had a pretty cool trick against her. I'm surprised her ace is still the same. Guess Venusaur and Sceptile are just not graceful enough.
  3. I remember calling Nick the Brock of Redemption long ago...lol. But nah Nick actually got some really cool strats later on and while he started off rough...(his win rate was like 20-something percent at one point) he got better as Redemption went on. He was best in doubles I feel and my last match with him I nearly lost but Sylveon pulled a miracle and wiped out literally half his team. I think with Meganetric as his ace Nick is going to be quite a bit more challenging. Didn't know he worked at silph co, that's pretty cool.
  4. glitchcity's sycamore's theme remix is really nice. Can't believe I never noticed it before. Her Lusamine one is really good too.

    1. Wolfox

      Wolfox

      gladeon battle remix when again?

  5. Remember guys: don't support nazi sympathizing websites.

      what did they do???

    2. Okami

      Okami

So if I'm getting this right, a writer associated myanimelist with posted a countdown list on their forum about "Kicking Nazi Ass" as it was called but some admins/editors got rid of it because it was too political?

      Alex

so they're just keeping the site about anime and they are not actually nazi sympathisers and you're finding one action to call them that.

      nice job there.

  6. Cultist underground continues to be the worst part of Reborn. I hate it so much.

    1. Personthing

Route 1 and the woods surrounding it tho.

Me too. I have to disable cheat engine super speed to get through the guards and then open my .txt file with all the codes in it because I don't wanna reread all those books again. It's a great area just when you're on your eighth run you just wanna skip it and get on with it.

I actually never bother with the woods too much in route 1 but I kind of like the pokemon interactions in it, plus the tauros/Bouffalant are fun to punch on. After 7th street(which is great really) Luna's chapter just becomes sort of a slog. All the rock smashing in Iolia valley is absurd. There's no reason those green crystals should keep re-spawning and then having to smash the red walls twice just adds to the tedium. Her field isn't particularly interesting either. It's probably my least favorite chapter of Reborn overall.

      At least it's over.

  7. I feel like the grand hall guys shouldn't pay you anything at all, or maybe just once a day and not a whole lot. You're absolutely right in that they're too easy to abuse. Now Radomus is a rich dude so TBH I feel he should pay up quite a bit but I'm not sure why Meteor grunts would be paying much. Personally I don't buy that much anyway so I don't pay that much attention to my savings after early game but I can understand and agree that the game doesn't emphasize resource management as much as before, to its detriment.
  8. Where in the railnet exactly is the move lady's house key? I smashed every wall in the aron beam area and there's no key. EDIT: Nevermind, found it. It's not in that room at all, but the one directly after the Yureyu building(with the rail puzzle)on the northernmost wall at the far right.
  9. Don't drop Blaziken for good though...it's one of the best starters in the game supposedly. I'd keep it for Metagross at least But yeah 5 mons against a Reborn leader is usually a terrible idea first playthrough. Amphy is good against his Malamar with signal beam and Gardevoir should be able to handle Gallade with help from a partner. You kind of messed up evolving Honchkrow before it learned sucker punch though. Night slash will likely not OHKO anything that isn't made of paper without a crit or a moxie boost, plus Honch is slow. However you can play that to your advantage as Honch can utilize trick room. It should be able to easily take out Gallade/Gardevoir(after a moxie boost) with brave bird under trick room.
  10. Seathe would be a great dragon legendary just saying. Dragon/psychic maybe? Or just Dragon? Also the prisoner girls in his home look like Marenie a bit. Gaping Dragon would be poison/dragon with gluttony Sihn would be Dragon/poison with Corrosive Duke's Dear Freyja would be a bug type of course. Quelagg would be fire/bug. Smelter Demon is fire/steel, with flame body as his ability. Sif would be normal/steel. Ivory King would be ice/fire. Demon of Song would be water/dark with liquid voice
  11. Ice feels the most underrated these days. Haley proved to me just how deadly it can be when utilized effectively. I never found it all that weak though. Bug always felt worse IMO.
  12. Don't underestimate Pelipper(wait until gen 7 changes get implemented, he's going to be really awesome then) either. I wrote him off as early bird fodder but he was insanely useful in my flying monorun. The ability to change fields at will(if just temporarily and even that got a buff due to the field extender) via mist is one that should not be overlooked. He's excellent support.
  13. Hmm I don't like steel all that much TBH due to how slow most of them are and how you're really limited early on. You have klink line and piplup basically :/ I second poison though, poison is flat out awesome in Reborn. To add on Rum said above, poison is also notable for being able to take good advantage of Reborn's field system as they interact with a good variety of fields, even transforming several of them to their advantage. Plus you have a slew of options whole game through and not just later on like some of the other types. Also thematically it fits the tone of the game well. I did flying before and it was a blast. It's actually not all THAT hard save for a couple of fights. I made a thread with it too detailing my team along the way and how useful they were.
  14. Who has the cooler hat? There's your answer.
  15. Start a new file, and honestly I feel it's better this way because you get to see some of the little changes that were made and play through with teams and such you didn't use before. In fact I always started over when a new episode released for this reason. Personally I still think ep 14 was the hardest(well so far, but I feel Shelly is harder in ep 16) due to certain bugs, Shade being somewhat tougher and Charlotte being at her toughest there but that could be due to it also being my first time with Reborn and thus not used to things. But yeah dude you should definitely give this game another go, IMO it's still among the top tier pokemon fangames and I always come back to it eventually even with main games being a blast. They both scratch different itches for me, and Reborn's field system is still genius. I think it's the one aspect of the game that really sets it apart gameplay wise, even from the official games.
  16. No one knows how to get the FPS thing to work? Would be nice to cut down the lag some. Also I still don't have the additional pokegear apps. No one has given it to me.
  17. Alright another question:I notice that the download came with some FPS download alongside it. I take it this is a mod or something that gives us the ability to change the FPS in options so ensure smoother gameplay? This would be extracted to the EP16 folder itself, right?
  18. Hmm okay. I'm starting to think that I should probably talk to the Devon corp dudes in obsidia ward. Maybe they give it to you? Seems like I should've gotten them by now though(just beat Cain before BB wasteland).
  19. Where do you get those from? I just have the map, jukebox and online stuff.
  20. How exactly do you access the field guides and PULSE entries? I've picked some up but have no idea how to actually read the,.
  21. Actually yeah you're right, I do remember finding a level 64 Staraptor in the mountains pre-charlotte. Has the chances increased slightly or am I just luckier this playthrough? Actually after fighting Shade
  22. So playing with episode 16 from Beryl ward onward, and I've noticed that there's been some enemy buffs compared to episode 15. This is simply what I have observed so don't take this as 100% fact, though if any of the actual devs want to fill in on the changes feel free to do so. -Seems like the levels for regular NPC trainers got slightly higher? -Opal rematches available much earlier on, this was stated on the site itself so no surprises here Corey - Shelly- Fern -optional boss- Seems like some areas have rarer pokemon that are a good deal higher leveled than the usual? I found Also, while we're on the subject on buffs/nerfs, any you want to see next episode?
  23. Gen 5 was the pinnacle of the series for me. Note that I said was, because gen 7 is off to a very, VERY good start. However, we only have 1 game in it so it's still too early to judge the entire generation overall, and gen 5 does have an edge pokemon wise, so it's still as Fern would say, "top dog." Gen 4 winning makes me happy as it's my second/third favorite, but I can't help but feel like Hoennbabies are the majority of voters for this poll.
  24. Sun moon anime is actually legit entertaining so far. Mimikyu is great.
