  1. 1) Evolves at level 25 at night. 2) 1%. As said in the FAQ, E1-4 has undergone many quality of life improvements (particularly to battles, characters and artwork) with some story rewrites. There are no new reputation opportunities in E1-E4. If you just completed E4 within the last month or so, there is no problem in continuing to E5 without restarting the entire game. Character romancing is not being considered currently. Try re-extracting the game, and running it as administrator.
  2. As of E5, Magnezone no longer evolves in this area.
  3. It's unfortunate that Desolation launched with such a significant number of game-breaking bugs. Usually, I would wait a long period of time before releasing patches, but here we are. I have updated Desolation to Episode 5.0.5. You can either download the patch as a Data folder, which can be implemented by extracting its contents into Desolation's root directory (the one with game.exe), replacing its contents. If you have difficulty with this, I have also updated the full download links for the game. Thanks again for the ongoing support.
  4. I have no artistic talent but I'll definitely make some MS paint submissions one day <33
  5. I have removed Pokesnax from the Pickup table for the next patch. Unfortunately I'm still a bit rusty on actual Pokemon content itself (like Pickup even being a thing), so having Pokesnax still obtainable was an oversight.
  6. While this fix came out very quickly, unfortunately there were large changes to audio, and graphics, and not just data (which I would otherwise release on its own). If it puts you at ease, 5.0.4 will be the final release of Episode 5 for a long while.
  7. Did you switch off the computer, or just the modem? You have to switch off two different items within the house.
  8. In the future, put this in the major bugs section. However, thank you for bringing this to my attention - I'll post a small fix straight away.
  9. Coming at you with a steaming hot hot-fix build. It seems that a huge number of game-breaking issues only presented themselves after we completed testing (typical), which is made the last twelve hours a roller coaster for me. I hate to deliver a product that contains game-breaking crashes, so hopefully this quick action makes up for it (at least a little). In other news, andracass made a Mac port of the game (with inhuman speed), so show her some love. She also cut the file size down dramatically, giving those of us with bad internet some much needed breathing room. Links can be found on the original post. Here are some quick notes on this fix: Cheers for the support thus far!
  10. Easy - graphics and battles, because Ruby and Posty did all of it. Hard - meeting expectations after a multi-year absence, and continuing the story in a way that's respectful to its roots. I don't know if I pulled off either of those things yet.
  11. I hope this proves that I'm here to stay. Cheers for the support! ❤️

  12. Welcome to Pokémon Desolation - Story - What is a dream? A series of thoughts? Images? Sensations? No... perhaps it's something more? Welcome to the Ayrith Region, a large land mass split into several islands. Ayrith is clouded in mystery, with strange, inexpiable events happening in every corner. However, somewhere deep down, there is something more to this mystery. Something unexpected, impossible even. You will uncover this secret, and go down in history. What is your dream? Is it to be a hero? The outcome of Desolation is strongly based on the choices you make. Choose wisely. - Features - - Obtainable List - - Episode 5 - Somnium - Important Note 1: If you are updating from E4, you may continue to E5 content by entering your room in the Cellia Manor. Important Note 2: Episode 5 runs on a new, faster engine, MKXP. To run Desolation, use 'game-z.exe'. If you have issues with game-z, instead try running 'game.exe'. Finally, please note that during the update to Gen 7 and the movement to the new engine, many move ID's had to be shifted, resulting in a small number of instances where Pokemon have different moves than they should (ONLY in save files created prior to E5). - Download Links - 7 Badges are available as of this release. Version 5.1, 07/07/2020 For those of you updating from 5.0.4/5.05 and want a smaller, manual patch for 5.1 - download THIS file (4 MB) and extract its contents into Desolation's root directory (the one with game.exe), overriding the previous content. Do not load this update from the Manor Basement, Silver Rise, Bountilia Island OR Odis Village Windows Mirror 1: Mega (521 MB) Mirror 2: Drive (521 MB) Mac Mirror 1: Mega (524 MB) Mirror 2: Drive (524 MB) Created by Caz, Ruby Red, and Posty Thanks to andracass for creating a Mac version of the game Feels good to be back Want to lend me a hand? 15. Final Fantasy 7 for me was a biggie (including its less known baby sibling, Crisis Core), when it came to creating the plot. Another big game for me was actually Dark Souls - not the difficulty, obviously, but the fact that many facets of its story are left to the player to make their own conclusions. While I want the overall story to be digestible, I want to leave a lot of the overarching stuff to the players interpretation. The nature of the side quests isn't really inspired by anything in particular. I just wanted the ability to tell multiple smaller stories that I thought could be fun, but were obviously undeserving of their own individual fan-game.
  16. We're looking at options like this in the future. It is far beyond my expertise with Essentials, but once we find someone who is able to help us with shifting to a new engine (which I imagine to be an incredibly difficult task), we'll explore this. As we're currently in beta testing, I don't yet have a reasonable answer for this. Even once I do, it'll depend on whether you complete side quests, or focus entirely on the main story. As an estimate, I would say approximately 55%. I've planned out the entire story from to a fair degree, which means that writing each episode typically just involves filling in the blanks, which I do at the start of each episode's development. I really like being flexible with the story. All content from prior episodes has been changed significantly, and E5 will contain these changes, as well as E5 itself.
  17. 1) The scope remains mostly the same. You're right, a branching story is a really ambitious task to undertake, but it's still at the forefront of what I want to do, especially in future episodes. I feel like what I want to achieve with deso is a lot more reasonable than what I had planned some years back, and I suspect that fans will enjoy it more. I'd rather not say more on the topic. 2) The obtainable list will come out just before Desolation drops, which is sometime at the end of this month. Yes, obtainable mon availability has been influenced by the balancing of trainers and Gym Leaders. 3) For me, everything is just better, and I'm excited about seeing how people respond to the quality overhaul this game has gone through. In terms of E5 content specifically, I'm excited to see discussions on the story elements, especially considering how the story has progressed since E4. I'll keep it at that, I think.
  18. I'd rather not say until the obtainable list is out, but I can say that Posty is being axed in Episode 6.
