Trivia Time: Out of all Legendary Pokemon with fixed locations, Zapdos can be encountered with the least amount of Badges: 3. In Generation I and their remakes, Zapdos can be caught by only having the Boulder Badge, the Cascade Badge and the Soul Badge (since you don't technically have to do the Gyms in order). Zapdos also possesses a type advantage against all of the other members in its trio, including the Trio Master: Lugia.

Trivia Time: 'ERE WE GO, FIRST LEGENDARY GUYS. In the second episode of the anime, there's a mural in the Viridan City Pokemon Center depicting the legendary birds. Ash mistakes the Articuno engraving for Ho-oh. While the stone is blue to indicates the Ice Type, and the wings and crest feathers are that of Articuno's, the multiple tail feathers look nothing like Articuno's, being similar to Ho-oh's than anything.

In the Kanto games, remakes included, there are binoculars in the gate seperating Fuchsia City from Route 15, through which Articuno can be seen flying toward the sea. In a lapse of continuity or just an oversight, it's still possible to see it flying even if you've caught or defeated it at the Seafoam Islands.

In the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers games, Articuno's the only one of its trio that can't be encountered unless an event code is entered. Also, it's the only Ice Pokemon in IQ Group C. Articuno was also one of the last Kanto Pokemon to be introduced in the anime, and the only one to not appear in Season 1.

Trivia Time: Snorlax are shown to open their eyes when they faint, a trend that started in the Stadium games and has carried over to the Gamecube games, and the 3DS games. In Pokemon Snap, Snorlax dances to the music of the Poke-Flute when in use. The Sinnoh games are the only games where Snorlax is in the regional Pokedex, but is not an obstacle in the overworld.

Trivia Time: Aerodactyl was actually the inspiration for the naming of Aerodactylus, a genus of pterodactyls. Aerodactyl is also the only Fossil Pokemon to not evolve, and the only one so far to get a Mega Evolution. It's also the only Fossil Pokemon to be obtained in a unique way from the others: It can be received in an in-game trade in Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Aerodactyl, along with the Johto Starters are the only non-Hoenn Pokemon available in Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire.

Trivia Time: Omastar's extinction is the only one to be explained out of all the fossil Pokemon: Its shell was too heavy to move, so it starved to death.

Trivia Time: Porygon is the only Pokemon who can evolve via Trading twice: Once when evolving into Porygon2 with Up-grade, and once into Porygon Z with Dubious Disc. This also means it's the only three stage evolution family that doesn't require any leveling up to get to the final form. The Porygon family is also the only evolutionary family where all members can learn Hyper Beam and Giga Impact, because they were all considered fully-evolved at one point in the franchise.
