I fail to see why someone would argue about time commitment here. The player's hand is generally nudged by the game to make certain decisions like using Pokemon that wouldn't normally see the light of day from the beginning. If you think your Semipour is more attractive than an untrained Piplup, you can always stick with Semipour. That would play in the games hand. If people -want- to use a specific pokemon. People -will- devote the needed time to grind it up.

Absol is the Disaster pokemon - coming to warn humans of incoming disasters. Reborn is a region of severe hardship with a new "disaster" every corner. Ame releases an Absol as she gives the opening spiel (as Jericho pointed out) The game's story is focused around a protagonist who comes before many of these calamities get off the ground. Much like Absol appears before disasters. - these protags have a mostly black and white color scheme, which also mirrors Absol.

"And see the entire learnset" As in. If its at level 5, I can see what moves the thing learns - in-game - as the Pokemon levels up.
-
The -bigger- problem Reborn suffers from is that it's not grind friendly too often. - level cap - themed opposing wilds (ie powder moves, status inflictors, Hidden Power roulette, Adaptability Basculin potential, Cave-in causers) - centralized re-battle-able trainers. - lack of experience to be found in places at times. - blocked exits Grinding in Reborn is tedious at times because it's not going to be easy all of the time, depending on where you are. It doesn't take very long to grind Pokemon at all in ORAS (grinding a Chesnaught from 1 - 50 in about 35 minutes is possible) due to the grind being favorable. Reborn being less accommodating seems like more of an argument than some players just won't use the Pokemon. The player is allowed to not use said pokemon anyway. I voted A because it's the most helpful for Dex filling and allows me to see an entire learnset ... It doesn't have to be the rule in every case.
-
As of -recent- Episodes, every pokemon on my team is pokemon I really like. - Chesnaught is my favorite pokemon period. - Crobat is far and away my favorite flying type - Gallade is my favorite Mega evolution (not a hint. Probably.) - Druddigon is my one of my favorite competitive pokemon (RU is my favorite tier.) - Carracosta is my favorite fossil/Rock type. --- My first ex-boyfriends name was Richard - of which Ricardo is a latin variant. The experience was less than ideal. (as to why the meteors are still partners in crime, meteor Hilda predates Mod Hilda around these parts. Ame didn't know.) Also. Yes, Ricardo goes for surf like a real team player. .........

I'll need to reread and change my vote for this one again or something. I haven't felt very comfortable with it. I feel like if a player wants egg moves they should -always- have to breed for them (or encounter dexnav Pokemon in ORAS) due to them being somethings players -can- control. That being said, I'm not opposed to freebies, but I feel like that is an unneeded slight on potential gameplay time and potential effort.
-
A. and A. because I'm HEARTLESS.... Okay, actually, it's just because I feel like being able to raise the Pokemon allows the player to complete the dex entries -and- have a sense of worth when raising the Pokemon up. I understand that getting a low leveled starter or something is not ideal ready to use - but I feel like hard work and completionist values -SHOULD- outweigh convenience - especially in a game where everything else is inconvenient so why should -this- of all things be? Regarding event Pokemon, I kinda feel like it's a bit too complicated to make that judgement call depending on where some of the events are, unless the player is PROMPTED and allowed to freely decide if they want the egg move or not every single time. If this is the case, I would be inclined to vote "D" for the sake of convenience - as egg moves can be earned through chain breeding later on. EDIT: change the Egg moves vote to C - if the PC is too far there shouldn't be a need to backtrack if it's impossible or avoidable.

There's something about Dr. Connal that addresses legitimate concern for me before I can immediately want to say I hate him. A tip-off for this is the battle theme Sigmund uses (Colress - BW2)...Colress wasn't a character that was inherently evil and at the end of the game was even helpful to the player granted he or she or xe proved their worth. Sure, he has unsavory methods of childcare and he is portrayed as an antagonist who is largely responsible for getting Saphira's goat right -now-, but knowing everything about the Doctor would indicate that something happened to him, and may be responsible for his actions. Also like Colress, Meteor's dealings are not important to him like Plasmas were. There's -something- the player isn't seeing yet. Magikarp might be the last non lengendary Pokemon released in game now, due to the level of gag immortality that it's gained compared to it's high ceiling even today. It wouldn't surprise me if that event, should the Pokemon be what we think it is, lasted until the very doors of the Pokemon League. If Victoria comes back I hope she recognizes that the player has done QUITE A BIT of growing and doesn't impede immediate progress so often under poor reasoning. If not, She's still the most hated. Sirius -and- Meteor Ace Ricardo make for a close second, tied.

OK people, lemme do a little policing... 1. Please talk about the SMOGON tier or OTHER Metagame that your Pokemon is used in - at least indicate where you would see it the most. 2. You have to be very specific about sets. We're not talking about Pokemon with a lot of options so much as we are talking about "go-to" or "only viable" options depending on the situation. They aren't plagues if they are not the most common by far on the ladder. 3. You have to see the Pokemon -often-, so Trevenant for example, is a Pokemon that is questionable at best because of it's lower than expected usage, Commander. Unless -you- see it on the ladder all the time. It's not how much you -would- use it, but how much -others- use it, here. RarelyUsed (RU) - This tier is known for the exact opposite reason as UU. Attackers run WILD in these parts, with the biggest threats being set-up sweepers and all-out attackers. It -is- possible to stall in this tier, but boy is it a rare sight to see. The two Pokemon I'm listing are Pokemon that have a specific uncanny ability to put the hurt on your team nearly for free, and are both good mons to look at if your just starting to build down here. ALL OUT AMBIPOM Ambipom will be carrying a Life Orb and will be tasked with doing one thing, over and over and over again. Doing "WAY too much" damage with Technician Fake Out (due to it being STAB) to the point where using it and getting the assured flinch feels cheap, and then Knocking Off your items and hurting your ghost types. It also has a plethora of coverage moves, Return, and U-turn to utilize a quick and safe escape while getting chip damage off. This thing is literally used by everybody on the ladder, and if you value your life, bring something particularly psychically bulky that can burn or paralyze this Pokemon. It can be quite the nuisance if gone unchecked. Belly Drum Unburden Slurpuff Slurpuff will be carrying a Sitrus Berry and will want to Belly Drum ASAP. Belly Drum not only means an automatic +6 attack to use Return and Play Rough a gazillion times, but a handy speed buff from it's ability unburden. Priority and hitting this thing REALLY hard as SOON as you see it come out of the Pokeball are your best bets to shutting down what could potentially be an embarrassing sweep.
-
UnderUsed - UU is home to the bulkiest pokemon you will ever see, and abode to the Mons that flirt with one day being matched up against pseudo-legends as per usual or having fallen from a time where they had done so before. The pair of one-trick pokes that I present have hailed since Pokemon itself has been a thing, and one of them, has a seat at the royal table for being one of competitive battling's founding fathers. Sash Smash Cloyster Cloyster's niche use is being able to get fast and deadly, and hit you with really hard repetitive strike moves 5 times every single time with Skill Link. It -really- depends on the move Shell Smash in order to get rolling though, and there's no easier way to ensure you get that Shell Smash off than by running a Focus Sash on it. If you have to switch out on Cloyster. You're in -deep- trouble. The best way to get rid of this thing is start wailing at it on sight. (If you can immediately click Special attacks, DO IT, the Clam hates them.) If it gets Shell Smash off, it's almost guaranteed to KO at least one Pokemon. Sash Attacker Alakazam Alakazam is one of the few Pokemon that is unique in that it's impervious to hazards due to it's ability 'Magic Guard'. This means, if it's running a Focus Sash, it's an easy revenge killer that doesn't give a rip if there are hazards to damage it on the field and can if -needed- take a hit. It's best usage though is after you cause someone -else- to faint, allowing it to switch in for free and pressure the opponent freely. If used correctly, this sash won't break and Alakazam will blow the doors off of your team, after matching you punch for punch. One of the best competitive Pokemon since forever - and still has a bit of stock today, even if it does have a grandiose Mega that overshadows it.
-
I'm not just talking about "Gen-Six" then - if it's been there for as long as Gliscor has been a thing, it's been a plague for that long.

This little number goes out to the battlers that stay on the straight and narrow~.....-and- those looking for a few common parlor tricks if you're unseasonable enough to build your team around. Just saying though, use these against me and I'll be twitching and having to think about not killing you. Hi folks! Today I want to talk about the 'Mons that just make some of us groan - and that we see on the path to glory that is known as "the ladder". These Pokemon are known for having one -specific- quirk about them that some trainers find incredibly handy and opponents already see coming the moment it comes out with utter disgust. Pokemon that are plagues and are arguably "no-skill-required" 'Mons to use. For beginners, however, that might not be a bad way to start learning how to build. It's not all rotten tomatoes and death stares from the best auth this site has ever seen. <3 (LOL, JK, I IZ BAD) There are two conditions the Pokemon must fill in order to be considered ladder plagues, those being: - This Pokemon must only have -one- specific purpose that without it would make the Pokemon much less of a desirable pick. - This Pokemon must be, in your opinion, used -very- often by your opponents when laddering in the tier you're discussing. Here are mine. OverUsed (OU) - For as "standard as fu-" and not-original and too mainstream OU is, the tier has the best parity out of them all. As our Competitive Convicts thread does a good job of revealing, most common threats are A) dependent on decent play, and B... not completely out of the woods. This doesn't exempt the tier from a couple of 'Mons that simply have a tried and true strategy that is very annoying to contend with - and due to the ease of use and strain it puts on opponents, you will find these two goons on a lot of opposing squads. Choice Band Talonflame CB Talonflame has one job, and it's very hard for SmOgonbUrd to screw it up....in fact, due to it's ability Gale Wings, it's impossible for it to screw it up. The opponent is going to want to use Brave Bird over...and over...and over again until it's out of HP, and if it's late game, this pretty much secures the "W". There are definitely other Talonflame sets, and some of them are quite crafty and focus on giving it more longevity, bulk, and attack power... or giving your opponent some crippling debuffs.....but this one is the one you -have- to assume -first-....because it's an immediate problem. Get those rocks up Soldier! and keep em there! Sub-Protect Toxic Heal Gliscor Not too many things like being poisoned...but -THIS- thing certainly does, and it does so while laughing at the fools who don't have wallbreakers or Ice type moves on hand-...or due to how insanely user friendly this stall-star....(Ahh, get it...All Star...Stall St-...aw cmon gimme that one.) is, it can sit back and laugh at just about everything if you're not careful. Toxic Heal provides Gliscor with an eighth of it's HP back each turn. Substitute prevents a lot of attacks from interfering with the return, and Protect can protect those subs even longer, resulting in Gliscor getting back up to 25% or more of it's HP back before you have a chance to break the Substitute. If -YOU- are poisoned as well, this is a REALLY big problem and would often be the cause of me rage-quitting a few matches when I was just starting out. The -best- thing you can do is predict the incoming Gliscor for the first time (or lead with) a Knock-Offer (that outspeeds) and remove that Toxic Orb before the venom sets in. Next, if you can predict Toxic and you have an Ice type move on hand, Use it and put the pain on this thing. "Friends don't let Friends poison themselves, right?"

Offical Reborn Bed, Wed, Behead Thread. :P
Chase replied to RagesSorrow's topic in General Discussion
Bed: Ame. ......(as an ace, i wouldn't smash anyone by default based on observation) Wed: Ame by a longshot. Behead: Victoria. .....Look. If your girl is a thorn instead of a feather in your cap, she ain't anything -but- black book material. -
I think Jelly is at the very least long-standing and active - which would make him not as far-fetched as it sounds. The only thing that's stopping him his is the contempt from previous behavior issues - and I think that given some more time that will pass. So long as Jelly keeps growing - something I still need to do from time to time.

inb4SapSipperjustbecause I know she -likes- Whimsy, but it's a terrible pick that will be absolutely answered by a Poison type unless you -have- to break the field first. Hence it's my "first of the bench" pick. I don't think Sylveon -AND- Florges would be in the team either, but I'm not certain. I -do- think Gardevoir is a Pokemon that has the potential to be re-used - especially if gym leaders -could- have megas. ...which is why I think Mawile is probably going to be viable...and that's something that you would absolutely need your fire type for....for realsies. Granbull though? Probably not. Gardevoir gets focus blast.
-
This may just be me being cocky and not looking too far past the amount of available amount of Fairies in the game, but I don't think Adrienn is going to prove to be too difficult. Pokemon I -expect- to be on xyr team at this point: - Gardevoir - Togekiss - Azumarill - Clefable - Mawile/Klefki - if it's a singles battle, I would lean towards the keyring here for hazard and possibly swagplay support, depending on how much Ame hates me. C: - Sylveon/Florges - Sylveon is the better choice, period, here - but both Pokemon do the same exact thing - scoff at special attackers. The next best guess for me would be Whimsicott (probably in place of Gardevoir or Clefable, as we've seen leaders with those before) - and it should be known that I'm not aware what field effects, held items, and circumstances will affect the battle at this point. You will -want- to bring someone particularly fast (Crobat comes to mind) and Taunt (assuming the Klefki is a thing) - and by the time Adrienn is an opponent, it's very possible that you would have both. Adrienn will have to be able to contend with a well seasoned player with a lot of options available to him/her/xem - and in Pokemon games, this is around the point where things get into the competitive realm in terms of stats (already have later in the current release) and what not to try and make things interesting - Ame -might- have something else to contend with, but by this point, that might be the greatest factor in xyr favor. You'll want to bring something along the lines of the following in terms of your own team hypothetically: - one taunt user with noteworthy speed (Prankster would definitely be encouraged, as Klefki has it itself.) - one or two Poison type pokemon. - one or two Steel type pokemon. - a Fire type Pokemon. - something with Unaware - possibly - a Bug type - possibly - a Rock or Electric type (move or Pokemon) to deal with Togekiss. --- I can vouch for Frillish to be made available after Shade - especially if that young Gengar line is getting removed.
-
Unown should be fine down there for those levels iirc.....however, let's -do- try not to revive old threads please. Thanks. ~H

No (or nobody knows for sure) What we do know is that siding with El or with Radomus has a different outcome. Personally, it's picking the lesser of two evils and evaluating what you believe to be true. If Radomus brainwashed Luna and kidnapped her from not only her father, but from Serra (who is arguably a better childcare provider than either of the two men in this discussion) I would probably be inclined to believe El.

Fairy. I ain't afraid of your stinkin' cupcake monster, Eagleby. ....in all seriousness though, I would have to say that Ice is the worst due to lack of unique dual types to help it out. Going by this logic, Froslass is one of the better options - but then you have things like the Abomasnow line where Fire ensures a knockout and is fairly common, and Weavile (yes, one of the -better- Ices) where a stray punch puts it -THROUGH- the canvas.

Warnings and Properly Enforcing the Statutes of Reborn

Voice (+) is a showdown! rank that allows you to interact with Breloombot, and speak in Modchat scenarios. Having voice generally indicates that you've been around the community before and is a way to show that should there be a need, you may be able to help other people. There are currently two requirements to obtain voice. - You must first obtain Ace here on the forums. - You must be approved in the application thread. (having 3 points would automatically sink your chances of approval.) -
