No Victoria, I didn't ask you if you thought Cal was cute.

It has been AGES since I have been able to really expound on anything on the forums...so I figured I would try something fun. List your top ten favorite cities/towns in the Pokémon world, as well as a brief summary of WHY it made the list. Have fun with this one! I will! 10. - Lentimas Town, Unova This area is only available in Black and White 2 - and the only way to get there outside of carrying Fly...would be for Skyla to fly you there using her plane. It's a desert area at the base of one of the most underappreciated caves in the main series in Reversal Mountain, and just down the road is one of the scariest places in the Pokémon world in the Strange House. It carries move tutors, a Krokorok in the over-world, and is one of the places Curtis or Yancy will call you on your Xtransceiver. New Mexican heritage is a small part of my personal build up, so Lentimas' pueblo....adobe styled homes resonate with me in all the right ways. 9. Kiloude City, Kalos The most recent endgame locale, featuring the Kalos Battle Maison, the ever coveted Friend Safari, and a contrastingly tropical vibe from the rest of the European themed region. This city exudes everything about the phrase "I want to be the very best."... Upon exiting the rail station a man provides you with the key to recording competitive battles, and from there onward, everything about the town, from getting pokemon that are unobtainable anywhere else with their hidden abilities to getting all of your highly desired held items, is about being the best trainer you can be. The place SMELLS like determination and hard work....the only thing it gets outclassed by is the Battle Resort in Hoenn...because two Day Cares are better than one. 8. Ecruteak City, Johto One of my fondest memories is scaling the Bell Tower and facing off against Ho-oh as a kid. It was a highly anticipated capture and the moment felt like I had accomplished so much on my first playthrough. The second generation, given it's limits, did a fantastic job playing sequel and while many others would cherish their time in Red's shoes past these games, Ecruteak City was just one of the parts (aside from getting the chance to take Red himself down later in the game spoiler for something we probably already have seen before.) that debunked the stigma of pokemon being all about the original locales and the original 151. HG/SS preserved and enhanced this feeling with it's vibrant Gen 4 touch up, everything from moving Sudowoodo out of the way to scattering the legendary beasts to finally capturing Ho-oh felt very surreal. 7. Aspertia City, Unova Another area only found in the sequel games to Black and White, Aspertia serves as the starting locale for the player character....and it's the most unique starting locale to date. Aspertia comes packed with a Pokémon Center and Mart, as well as it's own Gym headed by none other than former rival Cheren. None of your standard Pokémon Lab, your Rival's homes and yours only business. Obtaining your starter on the "Lookout" is one of the most beautiful introductions to the series. .....speaking of Pokémon Lab, Bianca travels from the still operational one in Nuvema on the complete OTHER side of Unova, and you can only reach it during the end game. Why to shake things up Black/White 2. 6. Vermillion City, Kanto This seaport town.....for some reason....took a very long time for Hilda to reach during her now nearly 19 year ago journey in the Kanto region. Lt. Surge easily makes this place stand out for me. His gym puzzle was downright infuriating......but everything about Vermillion encouraged me to complete the story run way back when. 5. Lavender Town, Kanto Ask yourselves this. Is it really weird to like perhaps the biggest creepypasta fuel in the Pokémon world? The chilling theme, the ridiculous amount of doom and gloom and death, the channeler asking you for blood before battling you, the supposed white hand on your shoulder, to even figuring out that your super effective Karate Chop on Blue's Raticate may have done more than make it "Faint" while aboard the SS. Anne. Oh...I suppose that would be more death huh....Best area in Kanto period. *goes to hum the theme from the top of the score again*.... 4. Driftveil City, Unova Clay's diamond in the rough town has one of the most annoyingly catchy themes in the games. The interaction between him and Elesa just to lower the Driftviel Drawbridge is neat, the location of "old" Team Plasma in the second games where you can pick up Zorua is neat. The Cold Storage was pretty cool (ha), and the Pokémon World Tournament much cooler. This place can see a little bit of traffic post game due to it's marketplace as well. Very useful city. 3. Castelia City, Unova The best metropolitan area in the series, hands down. Move over Lumiose. Step aside Saffron. This 100% American paragon of urban prowess is home to the Casteliacone, Burgh, the first place to encounter Zubat in the sequel games (the Sewers), the Harlequin Hunt for a Bicycle, the Battle office for some experience, many useful low tier held items, the Game Freak building where you can battle two of the workers teams on a daily basis, and so much more. The most eclectic area is the hidden "Central Park" patch of grass after exploring the sewers, where one can capture wild Eevee....(I think it was Eevee, it might have been Skitty...meh.) 2. Mauville City (ORAS), Hoenn Mall. Ville. Mallville. Nuff Said. 1. Fallorbar Town, Hoenn. This place is the most unassuming number one, and it doesn't hail from my favorite region, but I love the art style no matter what generation it's being featured in. The base of the volcano, near Meteor Falls, erected on the soot and ash and clay of legend. It's also the place where you obtain my favorite Mega Stone (the Galladite) and is home to the Move Tutor. As well as contests. Contests are cool too I guess...

Sleppu. You managed to make a player character (Lucia) somewhat relatable. And your art is beautiful. Thank you.

I could use some suggestions.

That's fine!

- every available player character. This is a day and age where we have customizable trainers and here in Reborn, SIX. options. You would think that I would be able to find ONE of them to relate with. I'm used to having to project myself on a character when I'm not given choice. Unfortunately, Reborn offers enough of a choice to feel lacking. At least to me. - Solaris This guy is nearly a complete unknown. We know that he's ruthless as ever, being the first terrifying antagonist we encounter, but even well after that encounter on Pyrous Mountain, there's still no method behind the madness. - Victoria Least. Helpful. Rival. Ever. Period. She comes across, at this point, like a waste of space. - Hardy Hardy's dialogue about "absolute faith" in Calcenon is something I as a person don't agree with. I get it, He just want's to save Aya. His youth is apparent in that scene.

I get it. I get it. ..... At least make it still look like you. On another note. Where's the Meteor Ace Hilda fan art? : D

Whoooa, man. Ame is into them Meteor types. That's the only ship that's acceptable anyway. Sorry, "Princess."

Depends if you want Special or Physical attacks, Sheep. Druddigon is a physical attacker; Dragalge special. Plus you aren't sandbagged by Skrelp for a while.

The only "religious" presences in Reborn are cultish in nature. This isn't to suggest that all inhabitants are not religious, but accurately reflects the amount of influence the church has in metropolitan areas lately. Also, the state Reborn is in would not be friendly to a supposed "good" God. There isn't a statement against churches to be made just because they are not there.
-
Two Druddigon? Now that's a new meta I can actually appreciate. This one's Hilda approved. ...poor Charlotte.
-
Meh. Worthy cause. #toostandard.

That Alice and Decible take... ...is really good.

The character page -is- going to be updated soon. As for my opinion on a wiki - I personally wouldn't mind, but I have no clue how to maintain it without including a walk though on all the side quests - which actively bolsters our community and encourages use of this forum as previously mentioned.

Oh Dan. You and your subliminal blame games.

Well. ... As a Christian myself, I can understand having worries about potential slights and I will acknowledge that many games today are Anti-RELIGIOUS. However, in order to determine if something is anti-Christ, you have to look at the instances in the game closer and actually make parallels to Christ Himself. Organized religion, may be the idea be portrayed in negative light, by itself, and there are many instances where it has been corrupt in history. Christ on the other hand is very rarely portrayed negatively at all. Do play the game. I hope this reassures you a bit.

Mineshao works to check Snorlax due to being able to do massive damage with Hjk before cursing up. It's a difficult mon to counter with immunity and curses set though. Sableye is checked by M-Gardevoir some. Taunt will force a switch on m-sableye as it can't CM to safety. Countering it would have to be Clefable. Unaware negates stat boosts from cm, and it's not afraid of wisp. Moon blast the gem eater away. RU - hitmonlee OU - Standardus.

Man, my circumstances really need to get better so it's not heck and a half to get these out...the formatting for the foreseeable future will be atrocious. Bear with me. RU Pokémon of the Week: Hitmonlee Hitmonlee is a Pokémon with two very unique sets that function based on the way it's abilities work. It's also a fantastic user of Rapid Spin in the tier, because it doesn't outdo it's usefulness afterwards. Viability in RU - A+ - This Pokémon has guesswork behind it. Ability? Moveset? Are my answers threatened by it?....it's a hazard remover, so it can fit on most teams and find lots of success. Abilities - Reckless is an ability that increases the damage of moves that have a potential to cause recoil damage to the user. Unburden sharply increases Hitmonlee's speed after it loses/uses it's held item. Hitmonlee can use both of these abilities effectively. Items: Depends heavily on what ability Hitmonlee is using. If running Reckless you will want to focus on using Choice Scarf to increase Lee's respectable speed stat (in order to revenge kill opposing Pokémon.) or Life Orb for sheer power. Unburden users might want to consider the Liechi Berry - which increases attack by one stage after consumption along with the speed boost from the ability - or the Normal Gem if running Rapid Spin just for....fun I suppose. I recommend the following two sets, largely because 1. I enjoy massive damage output, and 2. It provides the best idea on how each ability makes Hitmonlee a threat. Hitmonlee @ Life Orb Reckless 4 HP/ 252 Attack/ 252 Speed Jolly - High Jump Kick - Knock Off - Rapid Spin - Mach Punch For those of you that didn't know - Reckless actually -does- boost the power of High Jump Kick, due to the massive recoil chance if the attack misses. This set is powerful enough to OHKO Druddigon and Escavalier. You're going to want to hit HJK every time your opponent doesn't have a resist up. Knock Off is good to use on a predicted incoming Psychic type, as well as removes held items. Rapid Spin helps out your team by removing hazards, and Mach Punch gives Lee a priority STAB. Usage: Kick it to Win it. Hitmonlee @ Liechi Berry Unburden 4 SpeD/ 252 Speed/ 252 Attack Adamant - Endure - Reversal - Knock Off - Mach Punch Sacrificing Lee as a spinner may mean something to you, but this set I would use after safely switching him in. Open up with Endure to encourage usage of the Liechi Berry to get that Attack and Speed boost, and go for as low amount of HP as possible. Reversal is a 200 BP move when Hitmonlee's hp is knocked down to 1. Knock Off again takes care of Psychic type responders, and Mach Punch again gives Lee the right to move first. This set does a better job at preventing recoil damage than the previous set. Bonus Round: Hitmonlee @ Normal Gem Unburden 252 Speed/ 252 Attack/ 4 SpeD Adamant - Rapid Spin - Mach Punch - High Jump Kick - Knock Off This set isn't nearly as effective as the Endure->Reversal set, but allows for Rapid Spin to actually do a considerable amount of damage to your opponent while also removing hazards. The Speed boost will allow Lee to get it's kicks off faster, along with knocking off potential psychic types and items. Hitmonlee is a very versatile Pokémon team-wise. Because it has the ability to check psychic types, you can bring along another fighting type should you so choose, such as Virizion, Cobalion, and Sawk. If running Rapid Spin on Lee, you can bring Talonflame Junior (Fletchinder) and M-Pidgeot into the fray, as they appreciate Lee's services greatly. Finally, to get rid of threats from the Slurpuff and Aromatisse, you will want to look into Doublade or.......-sigh-...Durant. Catch you all on the flipside. got your back w/ the formatting. ~BG
