Does anybody else ditch their starter in these games?
Froiky replied to TheGamedawg's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
I havn't intentionally ditched my starter before, but while playing Reborn I found a Pokemon that was much better than my starter at the time and I got attatched to it. It was a Magby/Magmar and strangely enough my starter was a Blazekin. -

So I looked up what pokemon were in the UU list and was very disappointed to find Ampharos there. I have an Ampharos in my playthrough of Reborn named Beacon (not the most original name, I know) and he's become one of my strongest mons. I spent a long time finding the Mareep in game so I could have a pokemon with cotton guard so that I could survive a gym leader. Since then Beacon has become one of my strongest pokemon and basically carried my through the fight against Samson.

Aya stole the ruby ring, ran off, I found her, and she left for somewhere else. I'm currently in Calcenon city. I'm not sure where to find Aya now. Edit: Yes, I do mean Charlotte, not Aya. Thank you Lost Lore for the help.

Bidoof couldn't aBIDE Monferno's Mach PunchLINE. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I tried too hard for this abomination.

This is always a constant struggle. Mostly you have to find a place you can associate with work and only work. When you go to this place then it must only be to work. Otherwise you will be more likely to get into a habit of goofing off there. That's what I have found.

This'll be interesting. Mostly it's the established channels that catch attention. I want to see how a brand new channel compares.

I read through the first chapter/section/upload you made of this nuzlocke and wow. It's a bit different from other nuzlockes I've seen. Then again I've only read nuzlocke comics (which are awesome most of the time) or watched youtubers play through nuzlockes. Anyways, I must say your method has a certain entertainment factor that seems interesting. Good job.

So, seeing as this is the general gaming forum, I want to start a topic about one of my favorite game series: Kingdom Hearts. Who else loves it? Why? Which games have you played? Favorite character? Just have fun and discuss. As for an answer to my own questions: Character: By far Roxas is my favorite. Bad-ass and tragic. For the most part it is his story that makes me like him. Someone who wasn't meant to exist that slowly discovers what it is like to have a heart even when he doesn't have one. His friends torn from him, the people who took him in betrayed him, and in the end he was to be forgotten. Game: By my first answer you might be able to tell that 358/2 Days was my favorite game. Great story with a closer look into the backstory of my favorite character. And Xion. :'(

I would be that one guy who uses all types. Let me explain. The front area of my gym would be circular filled with 18 identical trainers. Each would have two or three pokemon of their respective types. Upon entering you would be asked to search for three keys among the eighteen trainers. You would battle them until you find the keys (or until you beat them all if you wanted) and then gain access to my chamber. If you find the keys right away in the first three battles then I would have a full team of normal types. However, for every battle (up to six) that you don't find a key I will have a Pokemon of the trainer's type. Remember that you have no idea which trainers have which types before battling so you can't stack my team for an easy win. Also, I would place a rule that a challenger couldn't leave the gym before facing the leader or forfeiting, which would mean you have to start again from the beginning. You could only forfeit after finding all the keys though. Another variation I was thinking of would give me a random team if the challenger missed a key twice, but there's my idea. This setup would either be for a challenge league or an eighth gym leader.

Gen 1: Best: Agatha. She's great. A cocky elder with creepy ghost types who knew Oak as a kid. She must have so many awesome stories to tell. Don't forget she's a member of the elite four for a reason. Worst: Lorelei. I started with gen 3 so it took a while to play gen one. When I did there wasn't as much of a connection to it as with Hoenn for me. Thus I picked Lorelei for her forgetability. She's the first member and, other than Agatha, the only one that isn't carried into Johto. Gen 2: Best: Karen. Pretty, evil, skillful. She's the fourth for a reason. Her Gengar has focus blast in the remakes. Where the other members are predictable Karen still poses a challenge. Worst: Will. Who? Exactly. He's forgettable. He's weak. Gen 3: Best: Drake. Just look at him. He is bad-ass and tames dragon types. Worst: Glacia. Again, forgettable. Sidney and Phoebe are memorable. Until I looked up the list of elite four members I had forgotten her, her name, her look. Gen 4: Best: Aaron or Flint. This one I'm not sure. Flint actually interacts with the player before entering the league and is the first fire type member. Aaron must be recognized though since he actually brought bug types to the league. Bug types, the most underrated type, in the league. Worst: Bertha. An old woman in the elite four? What, she's not Agatha? Nor Glacia? She's a rehash of previous members. I will give her that ground type hadn't been done yet. Gen 5: Best: Grimsley. Have you seen a trainer so cool? No. You haven't. That's all. Worst: Caitlin. Where Shauntal has her story writing and Marshal being Alder's student, Caitlin just sleeps all day. Seriously, when you reach her she is just waking up from a nap. It's annoying, it's disrespectful, and a bit boring. Gen 6: Note: I have not played this gen. Thus my opinion will be based on the few things I know. Also spoiler. Best: Malva. Why? She's hot and cool. My main reason, though, is what I've heard. In watching LPs of gen 6 I've seen Team Flare, which wasn't very impressive, and Malva has all the right qualities to fit in. The hair and sunglasses match, The pokemon match, and her name is pretty close to lava. I picked her because, despite lore and side stories, this is the first time a game has hinted that an elite four member was/is a member of a criminal org. Worst: Drasna. She's just not what I would consider a dragon trainer. She's happy, carefree, and seems opposite of previous dragon trainers. Call this stereo typing but I don't know much about this gen and the other members look cool.

I must admit I was surprised to see this topic. Not many people seem to want to talk about religion, especially on a forum for a game. Anyways, I'm a christian. For those that don't know what means I believe in one God who created us and gave us free will. I believe that humanity sinned, separating themselves from their creator, and are lost by themselves. I believe that God continued to love humanity and sent his son to bridge the gap. I believe that Christ, God's son, died, taking our sin from us, offering us a way to return to God. I believe that the Holy Spirit, the presence of God, is among humanity, calling for us to cross the divide and accept Christ's offer to return. This is what I believe.

I want this. Why hasn't Gamefreak made a dragon Eeveelution? Great job.

Halo. I don't know many people who play it and I have such a love of it that I'm afraid to bring it up. If I do I'll get too into it and usually have played more of the games and read more of the related books than whoever I find.

As much as I liked Spider Riders and Chaotic I think that by the time I started watching them the other shows that were once good were either unavailable or getting worse. Pokemon moved over to Cartoon Network and reruns of Yugioh and other shows were the only good cartoons.

That feel when you're watching something on Youtube and when it's over you go to a different page and then realize what you just watched was a commercial and not the actual video. It's happened to me multiple times. I go to watch a video and get stuck with an ad. I initially want to skip but it captivates me. By the end I feel like I watched something worthwhile and end up going back to the home page. Then I realize that I was going to watch a video and not just the ad.

Everyone's got them. They could just be little things that tick us off or things that make us go insane. Or a ghost from a certain set of books. Anyways, what's yours? What gets under your skin and makes you want to throttle someone? What, you don't want to throttle someone? Oh, okay. Just share. Have fun. Obviously I have a pet peeve myself seeing as I created this topic. You know when someone is doing something (real descriptive, I know) and you ask what it is they're doing, intending to aid them once you know their problem, but they refuse to say. That's what annoys me. It would be so much easier if there were two people looking for that pair of scissors (a random example). I might know how to help someone and am completely willing to help them if I can, but they don't want my help or are to busy to consider my offer. A good Samaritan left on the side of the road.

Sick either Cain or Terra on him. I think that would work quite well.

Blubasaur. Why? That's why.

If given the chance, where would you like most to go? Why?
Froiky replied to Daniel Blackworth's topic in General Discussion
I would go to Rome. Why? I've always found it fascinating. Its architecture, its art, its history. Just to experience Rome would be awesome. -
Ground and ghost type. Ground is something found here or there but often not the Pokemon you put on your all-star team. Golem has recently been a valued member of a nuzlocke run and become dear to my heart. As for ghost some might say it's not under-appreciated, but I've not quite understood them for a long time. Their move pools are strange and not straight forward for an offensive trainer. I've grown to like Gengar.

I tried posting this before but the website was down then so here's my answer. By the way, the way that I'm interpreting the prompt is 'which starter will you pick the least' and thus will answer for each region separately. Gen 1: Squirtle. I don't hate Squirtle, but it's just the one I haven't picked yet. Charizard is awesome, though sometimes over-hyped, and I've always thought Bulbasaur looked cute. Besides, Squirtle is the only gen 1 starter that doesn't gain a double typing. I will be picking Squirtle the next chance I get though. Gen 2: Chikorita. It's sad how Chikorita gets so much flak but it's useless. I value a variety of moves in a Pokemon and Chikorita is straight up grass type. Plus the designs of the other two are much cooler. Gen 3: Torchic. This one's hard. I started playing Pokemon in gen 3 and love each of the starters. I chose Torchic partly because it gets too much attention. It's cool and all but you can only pick it so many times before it gets old. Also Treeko is by far my favorite and you have herd right, I do liek Mudkipz. Gen 4: Piplup. This one isn't my choice because the other choices were that much better, but solely because of the Pokemon itself. It looks weird. Somehow it's final evolution didn't impress me enough. Also, its personality in the show just ruined it as a serious Pokemon for me. Gen 5: Oshawott. Before now I've had to choose my least favorite from a group of awesome or acceptable starters. Now I choose the worst of three evils. Tepig might have gotten flak for its typing and Snivy is just a grass snake (that's the best they could come up with?), but Oshawott takes the cake for me. Why? it got my hopes up. When I first saw it I knew I wanted it. It was cute and somewhat cheeky. When Dewott came out I had hopes for an awesome final evolution ( I like humanoid Pokemon btw, Gardevoir, Mewtwo, Lucario). But then came Samurott. On all fours. What water samurai would go on all fours to attack even if they're an otter? My favorite, my one hope, and it failed. Gen 6: Chespin. I haven't played these games but I watched as news came out. Chespin looked great. I had hopes it would become what Oshawott failed to be, but it too disappointed.
