so ive heard people say that gen VII games were easy many times before, but im wondering. I agree that sun/moon was easy, but heavily disagree on usum. ive played (actually nuzlocked but w/e) the majority of core series games recently, and usum honestly stood out to me as being the toughest out of all of them, barring maybe platinum.
so im interested to hear what you guys think made usum comparatively easier to other core series games.

But they are boosts nontheless. I might aggree on the exp share but the fact that the rest which have consequences in battle can easily ignored shows how much leeway pokemon gives in gen 7 . Just because playing tic tac toe without your hands is more difficult than with doesn't make tic tac toe itself more difficult.

they can be easily ignored because theyre broken to hell and beyond. full restore on steroids, x items on steroids and whatever else that rotom powers are, and dont even get me started on the raging horseshit that are the forced boosts you get from refresh.
I do agree that if you play the game making full use of all the resources you have, usum will likely end up being decently easy. I personally didnt quite count these, as I feel theyre less mandatory buffs, and moreso a choice.

this animation honestly feels kind of lazy to me. not only that, but getting the thing out was a pain, since what is viable crystal beast spell/trap support. like we know crystal release and rare value are scripted into the game already, since jesse level 40 uses them, but we dont get them because crystal beasts op??
at least I can level this guy up for some free gems.

fairly good card but there are certain issues with using it.
1. if you mill out your rainbow dragon youre automatically fucked, because theres no way in hell crystal beasts can hold their own.
2. consistency issues because theres no way grass is guaranteed to be in your first hand, and if it isnt it may end up breaking the chain you created with magical merchants mill effect. or you may just end up with four crystal beasts and instalose because crystal beasts are fucking shit.
3. theres a good chance that you didnt mill out the crystal beasts you wanted, even if the grass managed to put ten cards in your graveyard. thats because rainbow dragon requires all fucking seven kinds of crystal beasts, some of which you really dont want three copies of in your deck (looking at you, amethyst cat and cobalt eagle). oh, and thats not even mentioning our good friend emerald tortoise, who we get a solid one copy of. lastly, you basically have to count on sapphire pegasus to do the job if grass doesnt.
4. rainbow dragon is still garbage. luckily spikeshield with chain was given out in the newest box as a mere r, but if you dont have that card on your field, your opponent is basically free to click econ, switch your dragon into defense, and proceed to abuse the 0 defense.
really, I feel like crystal beasts ought to work like magnets right now- only vastly inferior.

yeah alright with dusknoir there I literally cannot click anything but that because thats the only evil character that ever fooled me in the history of pokemon ever and I hate him for that.

well then. jesses drops are exactly the same as roamer jesse, except he brings sapphire pegasus as well now. which means still garbage except maybe slightly less.
emerald tortoise is not included in his drops, which means it ought to be a levelup reward. if it isnt, jesses 'meet my family' skill or w/e is the only way to bring rainbow dragon out.
in slightly better news, this event allows zane to appear in duel world gx at level 40, so if you missed some cyber dragon support last time, go get it already.

attention duelists!
heh I always wanted to say that
ANYWAY.
big duel links events coming up, especially so for newer players (hi @seki108). first off, in two days jesse anderson will be made unlockable for some time. crystal beasts arent too notable, but you just cant say no to free gems for leveling.
after that, in early april, the event-exclusive dr. vellian crowler will become a former event-exclusive. much like yami bakura, yugi muto, pegasus, paradox brothers, mokuba and bonz before him, crowler will lose his status as event-exclusive, and become a regular gate duelist, unlockable at any time.
mid april, yami marik will return as an unlockable duelist, and just like last time, he will bring the winged dragon of ra with him. unlock him to get the powerful lava golem, without a doubt one of the strongest and most versatile ace monsters of any legendary duelist.
late april, likely just after yami mariks event, battle city will return- and just like last time, battle city will give you a chance to unlock the event-exclusive legendary duelist arkana, an absolute must for dark magician decks.
lastly, at the start of may, there will be a new duel-a-thon, featuring a new but so far yet unknown legendary duelist to unlock. the flavor text may imply syrus truesdale, but im not quite sure.
this basically means that in the upcoming month (and last few days of march), you will be able to unlock every single duelist that has ever been unlockable in the game so far. with crowler losing his event-exclusive status, the only remaining event exclusives are yami marik, arkana and the upcoming jesse anderson, all of which will be appearing.
also, for the more veteran players- kc cup is returning early april, and like always there will probably be a fuckton of gems available in the first stage.

I mean in that sense you can literally attribute anything to duke. thats not to say its not a possibility- definitely the second most likely contender. first is still syrus. apparently the japanese text looks quite alike to syrus' speech pattern in the anime, so im still very inclined to believe its him.
