  3. I've been slowly getting more experience with FE so I've got a few rumblings in mind. -Full character models, the machine is almost certainly powerful enough to do it, hiring on someone who knows cinematography to make cut scenes more dynamic would also be awesome just to give the story more of a compelling oomph. -More ways to explore a character, whether that's a game mode aside from the main story a la Danganronpa's talent plan mode in V3 or just an absolute shitton more scenes with each character. Hard to do with a full army but hey, I wannit. It's really disheartening when a character is introduced but then only the protagonist and a few driving characters take the spotlight and the side characters are relegated to supports. -More features to make moving a massive army less cumbersome, like the order system you had in POR n shit with Ike, using the target function to set your units to automatically do something without you, just expanded more. Maybe also a way to select all of your lance/axe/sword users at any given time so you can move them to one front where that weapon type would be useful etc. The biggest issue I have with FE bar one thing is when the battle is near its end and i have to ferry everyone to the last spot. -STOP LIMITING MY ARMY for a series that seems to rely on you getting attached to a set of soldiers they seem to fucking love limiting the amount you can use, which means I'm forced to choose between who i like more and who i deem to be genuinely necessary for a chapter, and if grinding isn't a mechanic for me to get units up to par that means if I want to use my favourite units, I end up crippled cuz i had to leave them out for a couple of chapters. I'd also like a rank system within an army, a small benefit that lets you award a position dan small numerical benefits to a unit who really, really puts in work. I want to be bale to acknowledge that my characters are genuinely good in a way other than using them every chapter and setting the best weapons aside from them.
  4. This topic basically encapsulates every waifu and husbando ever, if a game gets a lot of attention you're gonna get mixed receptions. Also understanding how controversial an opinion you have depends on your understanding of general opion. That said, for Reborn, Titania can fuck off and Fern, Fern's a dick but that's about it, and I like Dicks. Gaming in general is harder, I'll go for two big series I guess so I'm not just plumbing vague feelings. I don't have many franchises per se that really stick out to me though so Kh and Persona it is. KH: I adore Roxas in spite of the incredibly long tutorial he was in KH2 that seems to really irk a lot of people. That said I played his game 358/2 before I did 2 because 2 was damned hard to find for me, meaning I went into 2 understanding his shtick and with a healthy attachment to him by dint of spending 40 odd hours with him. It's harder for me to dismiss him as an edgelord as well when he shows up at other times too because his story is genuinely tragic. Good boy 10/10 Riku: I get his character arc, I understand his bit, maybe it's the imo flat voice acting or just the fact that his Hollow Bastion fight in 1 fucked me up for ages but I don't really like the guy. I also never played CoM because fuck that battle system in its entirety, so I know I'm missing out on a good chunk of his screen time. Sora: I like him. He is very much a flawed protagonist, not the brightest, consistently put forward as a linchpin character, we're almost forced to like him and enjoy him over other more interesting and nuanced characters and, for me, it works. Dude wasn't initially the main character but solely through being a nice guy he manages to step up to the plate and do the damn thing. I appreciate that. Persona: Junpei, Yukari and Mitsuru: So these three made up my main party in p3 right up to the end because I like to spam healing all the time and I liked Junpei more than Koromaru. Tactically they jsut made sense for me but of course most of the reasons theya ren't too well liked lies mostly in the story, at least for the first two. I never suffered from Mitsuru's charm fuckery too much. So people dislike Yukari, afaik, because of the Answer wherein she becomes a fair bit more "bitchy" as has been said to me. I never played the answer, the main game felt comprehensive enough and I just never got around to it. So my experience of Yukari was just her main story and her Social Link. Honestly, one of the best Persona girls, she was my romance in 3. Now Junpei, he's different, people don't like him because of his role in the main game. He starts off as an ego driven show off who resents you for being perfect, because you're the mc of course you're perfect. It might be an illusion on my end but it seems like a lot of people discount just how much personal growth he goes through, going so far even as to have his own relative side story that builds his relationship with an antagonist completely independently of the MC, this really stood out to me in a game where it felt like everything happened based on the MC taking action and pushing forward the story and I ended up adoring my bro for it. Naoto, Chie and Yukiko: Naoto i'm just not keen on because I stopped playing in the middle of her dungeon. She jsut wasn't compelling enough for me to care and I ended up fading away from the game. Fairly light reasons to dislike her. Chie, maybe it was just her inital voice actor but good god she was grating and her focus on phsyical skills in the original, bear in mind i was emulating the first and not playing golden, was just meh. Yukiko though, oh good god, everyone seems to like her and find her adorable and gorgeous and blah blah blah blah blah when pretty much all her traits aren't the least bit endearing to me and her character design feels so very flat. She looks like she could be an npc with a red coat, not this gorgoues idol the game keeps pushing her as. I dropped her asap and I ended up running an all male team in P4 before stopping, despite hating Teddy. for P5 I don't really have a grasp on who's a controversial character, maybe Ann and Ryuji cuz Ann is the secksy won and Ryuji constantly gets shit on by everyone in game, I like just about everyone in that game though so I'd basically just end up defending people when idek the issues people have with the characters.
  5. https://www.youtube.com/user/charismaoncommand this channel has a lot of videos around topics like making small talk and carrying on conversations well, check it out. Personally, just for off hand conversations, i find confidence is key. Speak clearly, make eye contact, mind your manners and then if your wit allows for it, crack a joke or make a comment. It's hard to go wrong so long as you generally project an aura of "hey, i'm friendly and competent."
  6. FUCK I MISSED MY ANNIVERSARY OK THIS IS FINE WHATEVER

  10. The community in this incarnation won't survive completely. Change happens, it's already happened as the veterans will attest. What will remain is a core of members like Ame and the fuccos who just don't leave because this community is simply built on the foundation of what they're making and some people are just that attached to the place they found here. That said, how long will the forums last? So long as there's a need for actual discussion or in general thought out replies aside from the chaos of a chatroom, there will always be forums. How active they are is an unknown, I find it waxes and wanes with a constant buzz of help threads and RPing.
  11. im gonna go into politics when im a famous author and im gonna save the world yup
  12. I'm of a mixed mind on resolutions. I could be the edgy fucc who points out there's no practical reason to make a resolution now of all times versus any other day of the week. On the other hand its nice to look back at the year and take stock of what to do to improve yourself. I think my goal is to focus more on my writing than last year and to not let myself slack every other day. Laziness is weakness. Unless you're a mathematician/programmer.
  13. This is a hard ass question tbh. There were a lot of stand out games, a lot of them showing us that devs remember that it's ok to focus on a single player campaign. That's fan-fuckin-tastic, right? As others have noted too, AAA devs have been getting "punished" in their reputation for terrible practices. The question there is if the companies see the money they earn as more valuable than their standing with the community. We saw the crippling of a few franchises, ME:A may be a perfectly fine game now but it sure as shit let a lot of people down when it came out and EA also bought the studio behind Dead Space, leaving that IP in limbo until we get any information. Battlefront 2 was gimped from the outset by the substantial hate it got. Several games such as Lawbreakers just kinda slinked out onto the scene to die a death or go F2P nigh immediately. Of course other franchises got huge pickups. Persona 5 released its first main series game in a decade, Metroid received a remake that brought it solidly back into the public eye and Nier came from an old PS3 cult classic to a blockbuster of the year with the backing of Platinum games. Resident Evil also found new life at the very start of the year with a return to the older brand of horror in a new first person perspective. A lot of Nintendo IPs came and reasserted themselves as mainstays in the community as well, Zelda and Mario in particular reigning from up high on their Nintendo polished thrones. Other games also found themselves rising to the top of their field, PUBG took the battle royale spot and has been biting and scratching to keep it out of the hands of it's competitor Fortnite, which is known more for its F2P mode than the actual game its meant to be. Warframe has consistently been earning credibility as a grindy but fun action online game and is one of the best F2P games you can get right now, imo. In Mobile gaming I personally had a hell of a time keeping up with Fire Emblem Heroes, another franchise that saw a boost with 2 new titles besides Heroes, with its consistent content updates and balance changes and new units being added every month. New IPs also made themselves known, Horizon Zero Dawn providing a breathtaking world of robot dinosaurs to hunt and conquer, Dead cells taking the roguelite indie scene by the hands and thoroughly shaking it to get all the lunch money it could to fuel its early access development and so, so many indie puzzle games that aimed to fuck with your head (Looking at you DDLC.) Notable holdovers from last year includes Overwatch, still going strong with a huge playerbase and working to resolve the issues it has as well as introducing its esports league and facing the biggest content update since launch this january. League of Legends had a meta upheaval with the new Rune system (Which is ACTUALLY IMPACTFUL) that brought people back to a slightly less toxic environment as the toxic players in part fled to new games in the F2P market and were encouraged to stay nice with the new honour system that rewards skins alongside the lootbox system that now allows access to skins once left behind a paywall, provided you put in the time. Rainbow Six Siege is also going strong with a new content update for two new operators, a new map and consistent bug fixes and improvements to the game that boasts a growing playerbase higher than it was on launch. The fact that so many of these games stick out to me? I think that cements 2017 as an overall good year for gaming.
  14. I deeply dislike not being able to scroll to the bottom of the page and see the nightclub there. It still exists but it's moved.

  15. Names with meanings are surprisingly easy if you have an idea of the locations purpose or know what characteristics you wanna use to make it distinct. Pastor's Forest for example is a common place for pilgrimage, so it's not hard to see why it's named so. Names for larger places in general like continents are harder. It's also hard to go wrong with those so go nuts with it.
  16. Medusa the pubehead. No, I won't elaborate on that, tyvm.
  17. Good luck with the life, saw the topic. I don't have much to say just simple well wishes that don't merit a sappy post.

  19. Hi welcome i'm literally just posting because i take issue with the fact that you are pirouetting. Who RPs that?! Have a good time in reborn at least.
  20. Wish to usurp the beings power. You get the power and if you're still forced to take wishes, you cant be usurped yourself cuz you made the wish first. If its already been asked, well, it was a good run.
  21. By the way alla yall should play Thomas is Alone if you haven't already.

  22. Hey guys, reviving this topic for a purpose, rather than make a brand new one that pretty much just reiterates everything Zumi said in the OP. I want to host a tournament during the weekend in light of Doomfist being released to the public. The tournament would be in the same time slot and have the same rules as Zumi outlined because, really, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Same flexibility as before too, if we don't get enough players we can do 3v3s or just hop into quick play or the different arcade modes. We can decide on the day. So, who's interested? To be clear, it'll be a tournament on Saturday the 29th of JULY JULY JULY at 2pm EST.
