    Dammit, no Boomburst tutor.  Primarina's hidden ability remains wasted potential.

     

    In the official games at least.  I feel like she might get some use out of Echoed Voice in Reborn though.

      eh, it's not that bad. I mean compared to Long Reach. It is still useful if nothing else, seeing as Stab Hyper Voice is still better than surf cuz it doesn't hit your team member and it does through sub

      Primarina got sparkling aria, which is similar to hyper voice in that it's a sound move, and yet does damage to your ally as well which is pointless xD Guess liquid voice ain't as useless as is her signature move... For Reborn I'm thinking of switching to HA for some double battles as they're quite abundant :P

    Yeah I'll admit, I was wrong about that story choice. Not battling Taka is clearly the "correct" timeline for the secret ending. You can understand how I'd make that mistake, since every other "correct" choice requires taking the harder path. Which one I think is better, however, well...

    Maybe it's just the team I'm using this time around, but Ultra Sun is definitely harder for me than regular Sun so far.  This is without the exp share of course, also I'm not really using the Rotom powers.

      they did make it a bit harder from my point of view as well. between the new totems and updated totam move sets it's no cakewalk anymore. still not extremely hard but still

    So I was able to get the game at a discount, not sure yet if I can consider it worth full price if you've already played the first games. I haven't gotten very far yet (only just beat the first trial) but I think I have enough to give my thoughts so far. Also I'm going into this about 60% spoiler free, I stopped looking at anything the moment they revealed the Battle Factory was coming back. So if anything I say sounds ignorant of what's coming later, that's why. First, the non-story stuff. And now some thoughts on the story difference, of which there was slightly more than I expected this early on.

    Lol @ the new Battlefront game.  Imagine if you bought a Smash Bros game and the only character was the Mii Fighter, and every single other person from Mario to Olimar was paid DLC, or alternatively you could grind coins for 40 hours and unlock ONE of them.  That's what it's like.

    It might sound hypocritical of me to say this, but I kinda agree with the guy that the new exp share is a good quality of life improvement... ...in the postgame. When you're training lots of things at once to get them Battle-Facility ready or to evolve them for dex completion. In the main story though? Lol no it's a "make the game ungodly easy" button. So that's what Ame should do in my opinion, add the new exp share in the postgame.

    Well holy shit, we really are getting a better Battle Facility! It's like... 2/7ths of a Battle Frontier, but that's still way better than the past 3 generations. Also wtf is this Team Gaypride Rocket lol.

    I finally get Performing Arts Azura and think I can start saving up orbs again, but nope!  Immediately after Performing arts they'll be having a special Nowi.

    I mean, Nintendo's little Battle Frontier scandal back in 2014 wouldn't have been such a big deal if the majority of the fans didn't care about the postgame.

    I decided that if I tried to recreate my epic Sylveon manifesto from the last thread, it wouldn't be as good and would just feel like a hollow imitation. My waifu former second favorite Pokemon doesn't deserve a hollow imitation. Not to mention that everyone else just isn't writing epic essays about their Pokemon anymore (I miss that), and are instead giving short lists of pros and cons. So I'll do that. ...Okay, maybe not "short", but still. Overall ranking? High A for sure, possibly even S. When I made my little manifesto in the first thread, I didn't consider her S material because of the whole level 45 thing and her lack of speed, plus the fact that there were only two Pokemon given the S rank at the time. Now that the S tier is more... "inclusive", I dunno. She might be a contender.

    Not necessarily. I can't find the old viability rankings thread, so my Sylveon magnum opus was probably lost forever to the site update, but in it I determined Sylveon would be A rank despite lack of coverage options. Maybe I should recreate it for this new thread...

    I dunno how to feel about Boy Scouts letting girls in now.  What I do know is that my former Scoutmaster, who is also my best friend's dad, is not happy about it.

      K so, there's already female boy scouts, I've known two personally, they're just unofficial members. Don't get me wrong, making them officially allowed is a change, but it's not as radical as people are making it out to be.

       

      Girl scouts are totally different and to many people rather inferior to boy scouts. Boy scouts are about integrity and camping, girl scouts are about crafts and homemaking. The fact that the boy scouts feel there's enough girls willing to join them over girl scouts to make this change at all shows how significant the differences are.

    Sun version had the best difficulty of any main series Pokemon game I've ever played (and I played at least one of every generation). And in the sequel you can apparently just spam Z moves and oneshot everything. All because they REALLY wanted to make Z moves seem better than Mega Evolutions. EDIT: now that I think some more about it, Sun and Moon had the best difficulty because I didn't use the exp share. So I guess I could just do the same with this, but like, that doesn't make me feel much better about it. How many more things in future games will I have to ignore in order to make the game playable?
