Aervana - A Declining World (OOC and Sign-Up)
Flux replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
I don't want to double post, but this RP seems to be moving especially slowly, especially since we just had a week without the server. So I'd just like to get a head count of who is still interested in participting, or perhaps whether or not anyone is still interested in continuing. I do have a lot of the events planned out once we reach Sakiiri, so I'd like to get there, but if there's no interest, it looks like this RP may very well die. -
"They seem obedient enough for me. Maybe we could have them turn off the alarm now. And we could use some guides for the building. What do you think?" ------------------------------------------------------------ Flux looked at the acolytes, his usual cheery expression gone, replaced with a more serious and stern look. "I think it will take more than simply turning off an alarm to keep the rest of them from investigating. Especially if these acolytes don't return." He paused, a merciless look on his face. "However, we can't just send them back. The whole place would be alerted to our intrusion, and that would spell the end for us." He turned to the group, the same expressions still on his face. "We may have no choice but to kill them. Or at least to tie them up somewhere after we get whatever information we can." He said all of this without batting an eye, his expression unchanged. Slowly, his cheery expression returned, spreading across his face as he closed his eyes in a bright smile. "Thoughts?"

It is the year 2051. One year ago, the first Pillar arose. Bursting through the ground in the middle of New York City, it was the beginning of the events that would change the world. Soon after the pillar's arrival, certain people began developing supernatural powers. These people were a threat. The government watches them, tracks them, and makes sure these people will no longer threaten society, using whatever means are necessary. These people are the Awakened. Despite the promise of their power, it is often too much. Some are overtaken, killed by their own power. Others are driven mad. Only a small fragment of the few people with these powers can control them. You are one such person. Being tracked and chased by the government, it has been all you can do to survive. They know your name, where you lived, everything about you. You have been forced to leave whatever family you had, living a life on the run. Some of you seek revenge. Others simply want the peaceful life they used to have. But all of you share the same urge: you want to go to the Pillar, the birth of all this madness. Surrounded by a giant wall and contained by the government, it draws you, urges you to make your way there. It's light reaches infinitely into the sky, a permanent reminder of what you seek. For with the Pillar, there are answers. Answers that only the highest members of the government might know, if even they can decipher them. Things to know This RP takes place in the near(ish) future. There are minor advancements in technology, but most of the military and police to still use the familiar modern-day weaponry. There will be some advanced technology in use though. This RP will contain descriptive violence, so be aware of that when you join. Rules Character Application Player Character Bios Important NPCs

Graterras Chapter 2: A Second Chance [IC]
Flux replied to Raindrop Valkyrie's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Nero frowned, looking around the camp. He turned back to Brass. "Let's just hurry up and talk to this Orpheaus. This isn't what I agreed to when I came into this group. The sooner we're done here, the better." He gave a meaningful look towards Odin before turning away from the group. -

The Awakened - Checking for Interest
Flux replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
All right, there seems to be enough interest to start. I'll try to get to OOC/Sign-Up thread up today or tomorrow and the IC once enough people formally sign up. -
Lars stepped forward, letting out a sigh. Figures that he would get picked first. He let out his GAOs, taking some time to glance around at the training area. He didn't really expect to win. Sleepy was always asleep, and he didn't seem like the fighting type either. Dominance seemed to have potential, but he was difficult to control and quite stubborn. Lars looked at the two. He supposed he'd have to find some way to have them work together. Maybe Sleepy could use that barrier move to protect Dominance while he got up close and attacked. His face took on a bored and hopeless expression. "...All right. Let's get this over with, I guess." He looked at his GAOs. "Hope you guys are ready..."

The name is not definite yet, but here's the premise of the RP: It is the year 2051. This is the basis of the story right now. It may be subject to change, who knows. Anyway, you will rp as one of the Awakened, each with a unique power. You will have the option to join a group and their cause, or to stay independent if you wish. There will likely be a lot of freedom in this RP, with subtle hints towards your goal. Here are a few things clarified: This RP takes place in the near(ish) future. There are minor advancements in technology, but I'm planning on most of the military and police to still use the familiar modern-day weaponry. This will likely have some descriptive violence in it, so be ready for that if there's interest in the RP. You will get to be creative with your powers. I'd like more than just "controls water." It will make the RP much more interesting for all involved. Also, If you do want control of an element, put some restrictions on it. For example, rather than the ability to control ice, perhaps they would only be able to make ice via direct contact with water. This would make them very powerful in the rain (Being able to freeze all of the ground as well as people in contact with the ground due to being wet) but they would need to be more creative in dry weather, perhaps teaming up with somebody whose power compliments their own (Such as making thunderstorms). Other stuff that I can't think of right now. I realize that many of you are already participating in multiple rps and may not be able to join, which is one reason why I made this thread. However, I feel like this is very different than most of our current RPs and so it may be interesting. Please post any questions you may have, as I'm sure I left plenty out. Hopefully we can get this rolling.

Something about the outline of Countperior seems off to me, but I love the concept. The other two are both great.

I was waiting to see if anyone would answer Marissa's question, but I've posted now. I did a little time skip just to keep things moving. It appears I'll need to join the groups ASAP. Feel free to RP in the next morning, waiting outside the tavern. -
Aervana #1 - Group 2 - (IC Thread)
Flux replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Rhea entered the clearing in a rush, Megaira just behind her. She could see the others off in the treeline, looking at something on the ground -- everybody except Roland. Immediately, she feared for the worst. "Is somebody hurt?" she called out, running over to the group. She saw Roland lying on the ground, but breathed a sigh of relief at his consciousness. "Roland here has a few broken ribs," Nash said. "He took a bad hit from that wurm." She nodded to Nash, already muttering the words to the necessary prayer. She had noticed the cuts along his face and his blackened armor. He would need a little healing as well, but Roland was the priority right now. ****** It had been a full day since the wurm attack, and the group had finally arrived in Saarid, a small town on the border of the Shantii Desert. The sun was setting as the group walked into the only road of the town, shops and houses stretching down either side. Nash approached the Roasted Boar, a small tavern and the first necessary stop in the village. He entered alone, having told the group to wait outside as it would only be a minute or two. He walked up to the bartender, a rough man with an honest face. "Has a man called Gillem been through here in the past few days?" Nash asked. The first thing to make sure of was that Gillem had even reached Saarid. The man paused in thought for a second, before seeming to come to a realization. "Aye, he did, an' he caused quite a ruckus when 'e came through. Started spouting 'bout "demons" an' "savin' the world."" The man paused, seeming to remember another important detail. "Left me with quite a mess t' clean up as well. He was draggin' around some demon body. Ain't one o' the staff who would touch the thing after he left." Nash nodded. So he showed it to them... It's just as well, the group needs to know what we're up against. I suppose I'll break the news to my own group. I doubt they'll leave, but they should still know. They seem pretty committed. "Thank you, sir," he said to the man, and tossed him a silver coin before leaving the bar. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nash approached the group that awaited him outside. "There's something I've been meaning to tell all of you," he began. "I should have told you sooner, but there's nothing to be done about it now." He took a breath. He figured it would be best to deliver the news bluntly. "I fear we may be facing the return of the demons." He held up a hand before any of them could protest. "The demons have been gone from our world for centuries, but know that I myself, along with Rhea and Gillem, have seen such creatures walking our land again." He paused to allow it to sink it. "I understand if you wish to leave upon hearing this. I will even give you a paid wage for the traveling this far. However, I don't believe any of you to be the types who would back out now. Our world itself is the cost, and we are here to defend it." With that, he began walking towards a general store for supplies. As he walked, he called back, "I expect to see all of you here tomorrow morning. Make sure you fill your waterskins." ((OOC: Feel free to RP ahead to the next morning. No need to wait for me.)) -
Aervana #1 - Group 1 (IC Thread)
Flux replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
"Hmmm, I don't feel anything too out of the ordinary...." the Elf replied. "I think we are fine, but keep your guards up just incase. I think I may stay up next watch with Eleri, just to make sure we have more eyes around." -------------------------------------- Gillem turned to Koz, unnerved by the question. "If you felt something, don't simply brush it aside. It's important to trust your instincts sometimes." He paused, looking to Olrien. "But if you say it's nothing, then I guess our watch is over. I appreciate your staying up with Eleriese, though. I wouldn't want her to be the only watch if something were to happen." With that, he walked back to the tent, giving the dancer a small shake on the shoulder to wake her up. "Your watch." -
Blaze let out a whimper and covered his eyes as the gunshot rang out. He caught a glimpse of the Hydreigon falling limp to the ground, never to move again. ----------------------------- Blaze walked over by Theo and Nivia, feeling a mix of anger at the human boy, guilt at the part he had played, and sadness for the Hydreigon and the Deino. He sat next to Theo, watching the Deino eat. It would never see its mother again, much like how he may never see his trainer again. That feeling of hopelessness for the both of them crushed his heart, and he began to cry.
-
Blaze jumped around, trying to dodge as many of the meteors as he could. He took cover behind a tree, flinching as the top half was taken off by a meteor. He didn't think it was a good idea to fight this thing, but he couldn't just leave Theo and Nivia. As the meteors died down, he was overcome with a sudden sense of duty. He would do what was needed to protect those he had come to care about. Running out from behind the tree, he faced the Hydreigon. Flames shot out of his back, slowly growing in size until they became overwhelming. He started to feel hot, which was unusual for a fire-type. As the immense flames were about to overtake him, he unleashed a burst of flame towards the Hydreigon, putting everything he had into it. He immediately felt drained afterwards, collapsing onto his stomach, legs splayed to the side. He was still conscious, but didn't feel like he could muster the energy to move.
-
Lars released his GAOs, Sleepy appearing in his arms and Dominance at his feet. He was surprised in the way that some of the other GAOs had changed forms, but it didn't him that his hadn't. Not a whole lot had changed about them. Dominance allowed him a little more control, but still largely ignored him. Then there was Sleepy. Who slept. Like all the time. He was surprised they'd managed to get any training in. Regardless, he awaited today's regimine.

Graterras Chapter 2: A Second Chance [IC]
Flux replied to Raindrop Valkyrie's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Nero frowned. This wasn't what he had agreed to. He would have left right there had it not been for the opportunity presented. He would use the battles to come to become stronger, and ultimately, to get his revenge. His decision made, he set out upon their destination. -
Under the Hill - First Circle: Judgement
Flux replied to Notus's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Phantom twitched in surprise as the man disappeared mid-attack. He quickly regained composure, knowing that there was nothing he could do about it. Besides, the man had listened, hadn't he? Phantom sheathed his sword and knelt down next to the limp body in front of him. He slipped his arms underneath and lifted the man up before striding into an open portal. *********************************** Phantom lowered the man to the ground as he exited the portal. He was in a remote section of the library now, where nobody would find the man's body. He figured it would be for the better. With that, he strode away into the shadows of the library. -

"What about it?" ---------------------------------- Phantom gave no reply, but instead reached inside his coat and slowly drew his sword. He leveled it towards the approaching man, keeping the point focused in his direction. Then he spoke again. "Leave..."
