Aervana - A Declining World (OOC and Sign-Up)
Flux replied to Flux's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Dang, We'll miss you... As for Graterras... I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with that yet. It hasn't really drawn much interest from me lately, so it's likely that I may drop it soon. I'll probably try hanging around for a little while more to see if it gets any more exciting for me, first. -

No, she's just joking, as you suspected. If I hadn't been in such a rush when I wrote that, I might have tried to make it more convincing, but it is what it is. -

Um, so back on topic, it is actually Panter then and not Panther like I had originally thought, right? Also, Phantom's trial will be... interesting to say the least... Not entirely sure what I'm gonna do for that.- 1735 replies

I know, I know. He had planned to tell you at the warehouse, but that didn't exactly work out. As soon as things calm down and he can talk to you, you will know. Patience, patience. Sure, go for it. -

Phantom was taken by surprise as the beast became nearly invisible. He could still make out its eyes, but its body was unclear to him. As the eyes took into motion, he tried to dodge again, only to feel a blunt impact in his shoulder as he ducked low. The impact threw him to the ground. Before the Panter could attack again, he made a portal in the floor, falling through it to the mirror dimension. He felt the familiar resistance as he entered the place. He began to fall as he came through the portal, the floor seeming to be the ceiling before the entire place righted itself and gravity pulled him back down. At once, he could sense the Panter. He realized that his ability was a direct counter to the Panter's invisibility. If he could not see it, he should simply sense it with the abilities granted to him in the mirror dimension. It was not perfect, as he could not judge specific details, but he would have to make it work. He manuevered himself near to where the Panter seemed to be, opening a portal and rushing through, thrusting the sword towards his target. -

Jory "Indeed I do. First off, I would like to know what I should call you. And I'd also like to know why you're so interested in finding the pillar." The man behind the desk nodded. "Very fair questions indeed. My name is Cedric Sterling. As for the pillar..." He looked up at Lux. "You can feel it, right? This force inside of us, pushing and pulling at our souls, urging us to the Pillar? Call me crazy, but I feel like that pillar holds some great secret as to just who exactly we area and why we were given these powers." He raised an eyebrow, looking Lux in the eye. "I find it no coincidence that people began to develop powers just after it arrived. I, for one, want to know why. Perhaps it is a remnant of my curious childhood, but I cannot simply leave such a mystery be. I fear that if we do not discover the secrets of the Pillar soon, they may be lost to us forever." He leaned back in his chair. "But I have a question for you now, Lucius. What do you plan to do with your power? Some see them as gifts, others as a curse. Have you given any thought to how you can impact the world?" He paused, a dreamful expression coming over his face. "I feel like we were all given these powers for a unique purpose, and it is our fate to decide what that purpose will be. Don't you agree?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Arkhidon and Hukuna Zeus gave a jubilant smile at Keaton's response. "Great! We can head back to Olympus now, since you're all ready." The man in the blue suit, Poseidon, pulled out a cellphone from his coat pocket and dialed a number. "He'll cooperate," Poseidon said into the phone. "Contact the police chief and have them pull out." Zeus frowned, leaned over by Keaton, and whispered to him. "Poseidon's all business, so sorry if he seems a bit... coldhearted. Still, he's nothing compared to Hades." He shuddered. "That man's one scary son of a bitch. He's a bit cracked, but very powerful. I suppose you'll just have to wait and see for yourself, though." After a short while, the police cars pulled away. Zeus returned to the door, sending electricity through the handle to unlock the door. Upon exiting the building, they found a white limo already waiting. Zeus motioned towards the door. "Let's go then." The arrived at the newly constructed government building in the city. It was very tall, completed covered with glass windows. However, Zeus and Poseidon headed for a smaller white building branching out of the side. Poseidon punched a long code into the security system before the doors slid open. The inside of the building was very modern, and all the walls, ceiling, and floors were made from stark white panels. They walked into what appeared to be a lobby of sorts. Two men were already seated inside, one in a white lab coat with long and messy black hair, and the other looking almost as ragged. He had a full beard, wild black hair, and wore a brown trench coat. The man in the lab coat jumped up as Zeus's group entered. "Ah, Zeus, you finally made it!" His voice was tinged with insanity. "I see you succeeded in your goal, just as I did. Very good, very good." Zeus motioned from Keaton to the man. "Keaton, this is Hades. Hades, meet our new recruit, Keaton Aome. He looked past Hades towards the other man. "And just who have you managed to recruit, Hades?" he asked with a questioning look. Hades looked excited. "Oh, he's a powerful one, I assure you. Says he has some experience too. He's 'The Crimson Tide'." He began to laugh uncontrollably for a while. Zeus shook his head in his hands before turning to Keaton. Well, I suppose the two recruits should get acquainted with each other. Poseidon, could you contact Ms. Archer and inform her about these two? They're to be taken off of the threat list." The man gave a curt nod and left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ King Murdoc "I play too many video games." Rebecca gave a friendly laugh. When she recovered, she raised an eyebrow. "But really, warping space-time?! That's impressive. You must be incredibly strong..." She gave her usual laugh. "I'll just have to make sure not to piss you off, then!" **** They had walked for a while before entering a small forest. She led him to a monument overgrown with vines and moss. "Well, this is the place." Upon seeing Allen's confusion, she gave a wicked grin, fire flickering in her palms. Her voice was hard and steely when she spoke. "Actually, I just brought you here to kill you out of sight!" She laughed wickedly, her face a perfect reflection of malice and evil. -------------------------------------------------------------------- rustytengo and typhlosionrulez "we're on the run remember? c'mon!" The bartender nodded, moving forward. After a few steps, he slowed a little, turning back to face the woman. He gave her a suspicious look. "I hope you find that author you're looking for..." With that he turned and began running down the rest of the alley. -

Phantom could feel energy of some sort moving into him. He brush it aside, rather than accepting it. Foreign energy would merely be a distraction. Before he could determine the source of the energy, the panther pounced at him with blinding speed. He barely had enough time to collect himself and roll to the side. He turned to face the panther once more as he stood to his feet. He concentrated energy in his left hand, preparing to make a portal as soon as it began its second attack. -

typhlosionrulez and rustytengo "It seems they're threatened by me knowing that I gained this kind of ability, so they jumped the gun hunting me down. Typical." The bartender sighed. "Yes, unfortunately that seems to be how things are going." He paused for a while as they walked. "Before we discuss any more, I'd like to get somewhere more private. I belong to a group of sorts, and we have an empty warehouse a few blocks from here. We can talk safely there." They walked another few blocks before turning another corner. The bartender let out a gasp as he looked ahead. There was a roaring fire a block down, across the street from a diner. "That's the warehouse..." he mumbled. ”We've been attacked..." The police and fire department were gathered outside the building. The bartender seemed to collect himself upon seeing them. He grabbed Ace's arm pulling him into an alleyway. He spoke in an urgent tone. "The fire will destroy any information they could have gained about us, so that's no worry. For the meantime, let's get out of this area.” As they ran down the alley, they nearly bumped into a young woman. She appeared to be half-Japanese. The bartender stopped, suddenly on guard. He turned to the young woman, and cautiously began to speak. "Hello there, miss. Just what are you doing in a dark alleyway like this all alone?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- King Murdoc The young woman let out a small laugh as the man jumped. He quickly collected himself and spoke. "Everything you just said is correct, and yes. I was planning on staying here, but from the way you've just approached me, I take it you have an alternate plan. Is that right?" The woman put on a confused expression before studying his face as if to see if he were serious. "Um, no, not really." She laughed nervously. "You just seemed a bit troubled. I always think it's nice to help a friend in need." She smiled. "Although, I suppose you could come with me if you want a safer place to stay for a while. The police won't find you there, I promise." She gave him an earnest look. "My name's Rebecca by the way. And you are?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jory The man in blue nodded. "Sure, I can take you to the boss now. As for my name..." He made a sweeping gesture from his head to the bottom of his shirt. "As I said before, most people in the organization simply call me Blue, for obvious reasons. It is simple, practical, and easy to remember. I'll wait until after you've talked to the boss and come to a decision to decide if I want to share my real name with you." He stood from his chair, stretching a little bit. He reached a hand back down and grabbed the top of the chair. It disappeared in a blue flash. His light blue eyes met Lux's gaze. "I suppose we should get going, then." Without waiting for a response, he once again grabbed Lux's shoulder, and they disappeared from the rooftop. The duo reappeared inside a large building. It looked like an office building from what was visible here. Blue led Lux down a hall, taking a right turn before stopping at the end of a corridor. A door sat in front of them, but the door's label was blank. "This is the boss's office. He has an alibi working here, but in reality this isn't even a business. Anyway, this is where I'll take my leave. The boss prefers to speak alone." With that, the blue man teleported again, disappearing from sight. As Lux opens the door and enters the office, he finds himself in a well-lit workplace, the entire back and side walls covered in glass windows that overlooked a small wooded area. A large desk is placed in front of the windows, and a man sat behind it. He had chin-length, well-kept black hair, parted at the sides, and a shortly trimmed black beard that looped over his upper lip into a mustache as well. He wore a waist length blue jacket and jeans, which seemed out of place in the business setting. He appeared to be in his mid to late thirties, and he had a friendly and earnest face. He looked up and smiled as Lux entered. “Why hello there,” he began. “You must be Lux. I’ve learned quite a bit about you these past few days, and I must say, you intrigue me.” He gave a serious look, leaning over with his hands folded in front of him. “I’m not just talking about your power, either.” He stared at Lux for a while, before leaning back in his chair once more. “I take it Blue didn’t make a good enough first impression on you?” the man asked offhandedly. He sighed. “I didn’t expect that he would. That sort of thing isn’t his specialty. Still, you must have many questions of relatively great importance if you’re here to speak to me.” He gave a friendly smile. “Go on, ask me.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Supernovae Zweiss returned the firm handshake. "Though I do have one question for you. If you are the leader of this group, Utopia, your gift must be great. So what gift has God seen fit to bestow upon you?" Zweiss paused for a while, searching the man's eyes. After a while, he began to speak. "My power..." He chuckled. "Not many in Utopia have dared to be so forward in asking me. He gave a one-sided grin. "Still, something about you is different. I will tell you. Or perhaps, I will show you." As soon as Zweiss finished the words, Jude was forced to his hands and knees. It was as if the earth itself was pulling him downward. Zweiss looked over him, then flicked his hand, removing the pressure. As Jude collected himself, Zweiss turned to a fire hydrant on the sidewalk. It instantly collapsed onto itself, the metal bending easily, before imploding in a burst of water. As the droplets sprayed over them, Zweiss helped Jude to his feet. "That is a taste of my power. The power of a king. The power of gravity." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chimchain The man in black sighed as Eugene fled. He had tried to tell them that this man was not suited for the group, but they insisted on trying. He was sure Zweiss would have agreed with him, had he not been out on his own errands. He grabbed a small earclip with an attached microphone from his coat pocket, and hooked it around his ear. "Target has fled." he reported. "Move on to phase two. He stepped out of the car, becoming invisible once more. His part of the job was done. They would have to kill the boy, of course, but that was up to the others. The world around Eugene went pitch black. He knew he was still conscious, but it was as if the sunlight itself had been sucked away. He could here a voice. "Come now, you aren't gonna just run, are you? Surely you wouldn't underestimate us that much..." -

K_H, I don't believe that the panther and the She-Wolf are close enough together for Kenny to be able to see both battles simultaneously... Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Kenny could have provided power boosts to both Enya and Phantom considering that he shouldn't even be able to see the panther and Phantom from his location. (Also, I don't really see how Phantom's power could be enhanced anyway... )- 1735 replies

A portal opened between Ethic and Mr. Taylor and the panther. Phantom strode through. He wasn't exactly positive why he had decided to do what he was about to do, but he had a strange urge to do so. He walked a few steps forward, unsheathing his sword as he did so. He let it hang at his side as he stared at the panther. He looked over his shoulder at Ethic and Mr. Taylor. IT was as if his glowing red eyes had seen into their very soul when they met his gaze. He spoke in the same ethereal tone as before. "Go... I'll... distract..." As soon as he finished the sentence, he returned his gaze to the panther, awaiting it's move. -

Snap Crackle Pop Beetle broke into a grin. "Great! We're glad to have you, right Nexus?" The hooded man was motionless. After a while, he gave a short nod. Beetle jumped up. "Um, I can show you around while we wait for Rebecca and my Grandfather to get back, if you want." He pointed to the staircase. "Rooms are downstairs, and there's a small gym in the basement below that if you work out or anything like that. You can use the extra room. My grandfather made it just in case anyone we trusted was in need." He smiled brightly. "I think we can trust you." He motioned to Alice's shoulder. "Cross certainly seems to like you." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jory The man in blue gave a melancholy smile. "You know, there exists an entire group that believes exactly what you just stated. They call themselves Utopia. They are the largest group of Awakened assembled outside of the government's control." He gave a dark chuckle. "I met their leader once, and only once, but it was enough for me." He met Lux's eyes. "He's a scary guy. He practically exudes power. But his eyes -- that's where you see what kind of man he is. His eyes are full of hatred, determination, and pride. He'll stop at nothing to meet his goals. If you want to be a "hero," stay away from him." The man paused. "As for the group I belong to, well, you'll have the freedom to be any kind of hero you want to. There are others who will share your thoughts. But at the end of the day, I think the Pillar is what our leader is really after. You'd have to ask him yourself for more details." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ rustytengo The building across the street from the diner exploded. It had been a warehouse of some sort, unmarked by any sort of symbol or name. Beverly could just make out a man in a black coat fleeing the scene. People in the diner began to panic. There were cries to call the police, and many people pulled out their cellphones and began to do so. -

Snap Crackle Pop Alice appears in a small room. The room was well lit, and she could see that the walls, ceiling and floor were all made of stone. There was a small, square table near the middle of the room, where two men sat, playing cards. They were still young, in their early twenties. A couch was positioned in front of a small TV screen, and there was a computer and desk in the corner. A small staircase led down to a lower level. The two men at the table turned to face Alice. One had short blonde hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. The other wore a black hooded sweatshirt, obscuring his face. The blonde man spoke first. He had a friendly face and was smiling. "Oh, you made it! I'm glad Cross was able to find you." Upon seeing her confusion, the man cleared it up, looking embarrassed. "O-oh, um, Cross is the box elder bug you followed... He's a friend of mine." He held up a finger. From the corner of the room, the bug flew over and landed on his finger. "You see, we're Awakened -- just like I'm sure you are, if that many police were after you. My name's Bryan, but everyone around here calls me Beetle. I can sort of... communicate with insects." He jabbed a thumb at the guy across from him. "This is Nexus. Even I don't know his real name, but he's the one who made the portal you just came through. He doesn't talk much, but he's a good guy." He held up two fingers. "There are two more of us who aren't here right now -- Rebecca, who can control fire and my grandfather, who can move around dirt, soil, rocks -- pretty much anything in the earth. He's the one who built this place. This whole building is underground -- right beneath that monument you saw. There's no way in except for Nexus's portals. As for why we're here..." he sighed. "We were all chased, just as you have been. Our dream is to find a way into the Pillar, but for now we're just staying safe here." He motioned around the room. "I'd suggest you wait here for a while, until the police give up chase. Then you're free to leave if you want. If not, we'd be glad to take you in. I figure it'd be nice to stop running for a while." He paused for a while, letting the invitation sink in. "If you wanna know anything about us, just ask." Cross flew over to Alice and landed on her shoulder, looking up at her. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Supernovae As Zweiss and Jude met eyes, it seemed as if polar opposites had collided. There was the scarred and grizzly killer facing the regal, commanding king. But despite aesthetic differences, Zweiss knew that this was a man who truly believed in their mission and would do whatever it took to see it through. He extended a hand. "If these are your true feelings, then it is my honor to accept you as a member of Utopia." --------------------------------------------------------------- Chimchain While Eugene waits in the car, the door opens by an unseen force. A few seconds later, a man seems to materialize out of the air right next to him. He was wearing a Black fedora, a closed black trench coat, and sunglasses. He looked straight ahead and began to speak in a low voice. "You're tired of running, aren't you? Tired of this constant bullying." He turned to look straight at Eugene. "Come with me, and I can take you to true peace. To a Utopian world. We are powerful and gifted. We are the Pure. Help us to rid this world of the rest, and we can live in paradise." He paused. "What do you say? Think about it." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- typhlosionrulez The bartender hung up his "Closed" sign as they walked into the street. The sirens were fading into the distance. As they walked, he talked to Ace. "So what can you do?" he motioned in the direction of the faded sirens. "Why did they want you?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jory The man raised a questioning eyebrow. "Why so defensive? I've told you I have no desire to fight you. I brought you to a rooftop in the sun just to prove this point. I am fully aware that there is no way I could teleport out of here faster than the speed of light." He gave a small smile. "Still, I chose this location carefully. It would be quite difficult for you to get down from here without me; I didn't want you to kill me on impulse." He paused for a while, apparently thinking some things over. He began to speak quietly. "No, I'm not here to kill or capture you, although I do have an offer, as you so insightfully guessed. You may accept or deny this at your own free will, and I will return you to the ground either way." He made eye contact to make sure Lux knew he was telling the truth. "I am here to represent a small group. Within this group, I am simply known as Blue. Our goal is to break into the Pillar, a sentiment I'm sure you can understand. We have people with a variety of powers, but none like yours. What could be better than attacking with the speed of light? So there is the offer: Will you help us achieve our goal? If we succeed, you would be part of the group that unearthed the secrets of the Pillar." He stopped. "Now I know what you're thinking: Why haven't I just teleported inside? Well, aside from the obvious fact that I would probably be shot within seconds of entering the walls, my power seems to have no effect within a certain range of the Pillar." He raised an eyebrow. "Most peculiar indeed, wouldn't you say? But that's beside the point. Will you join us? Or will you leave? -

King Murdoc A young woman walked up by Allen at the hotel. She had dark brown hair tied back in a ponytail, and a pretty face. She was wearing a pink t-shirt, jean shorts and tennis shoes. She stared in the same direction Allen had been looking. "Doesn't really seem fair, does it?" She said, a playful smile on her face. "You're thinking about it, aren't you? How you could be at home, living peacefully if only these police would stop pestering you." She sighed. "I know the feeling." She looked up at Allen, being a several inches shorter than him. "I know what you're thinking again. To answer those thoughts, no, my power isn't mind-reading. I'm just good at judging people. Either that or you're pretty bad at hiding your emotions." She laughed a little, before holding up her palm. There was a small ball of flame floating just over it. She tossed it to her other hand. "No, I'm a pyromancer of sorts. Not the strongest of the Awakened for sure, but not exactly weak." She paused for a while, before speaking again. "So, are you planning on staying here?" she asked, motioning towards the hotel. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- typhlosionrulez "Here's the plan bub...give me one of your finest cold pint and keep em coming until i pass out. don't ask, lets just say my troubles are catching up to me. The bartender nodded. "Sure thing. I'll give you the coldest we've got." The bartender turned back to the shelf, grabbing a pint glass and filling it. He turned and slid it down to Ace. The liquor was completely frozen, with ice gathered at the sides of the glass. The bartender gave a knowing look and leaned down by Ace. "As a bartender, you really learn to judge people. And I can tell you're not the average customer. You've got a talent, just like me. How about we get out of here a talk a little, eh? I'm sure I know some people who could help you out." He stood back up, grabbing a cloth and began wiping the bar, just as he did every day. He turned to Ace casually, as if he hadn't said anything. All he did was raise an eyebrow in question. ---------------------------------------- Snap Crackle Pop The bug quickly flew farther into the woods as Alice followed it. After a few minutes, they arrived at a stone monument of some sort, overgrown with vines and moss. There was a glowing purple circle on the side of the monument, a swirling mix of energy. The bug flew into it and disappeared. After a few seconds, it came back through, bumping into Alice before flying back into the "portal." The sounds of the police were growing louder as they approached. -

Stratos The voice entered Anver's mind again. "Sure thing, buddy. But as fun as it would be to fight all these guys, I don't think that would be a wise decision. Let's just get you out of here." The outline of Anver's body began to glow blue, and he was suddenly lifted into the air. He was carried several blocks over the buildings before being set down on another rooftop. "Phew, that's exhausting work. Especially from so far away," the voice said. "Still, you should be relatively safe for a while. Head down the door behind you and through the building to get back to the ground. I already checked to make sure the building was empty, so you should be good to go. Try to be more careful next time..." The voice said the last part playfully as it began to fade out of Anver's mind. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jory "How did we get here? Did you... teleport us here? That would make you one of us, wouldn't it? So why have you brought me here?" The man's face took on a confused look for a moment. "Why, of course we teleported here," he said simply. "How else would we have gotten up here? As for why I brought you here..." The man chuckled. "Would you rather I had left you down there with the police?" ------------------------------------------------------- Snap Crackle Pop The bug seemed jubilant, or at least slightly happier -- If that was possible for a bug -- as Alice approached. It did a small loop in the air in celebration. It stopped celebrating when the police's voices came into earshot. The bug flew through a pile of brush, before flying back and knocking itself into Alice. It flew a short distance over the brush and waited for her. -

Flux gave a nod to the others. "All right, let's get up there." He took the first step onto Ogre's back, who had hunched over into a position to better brace himself. Flux was able to look into the next level now. "It's clear," he said, pulling himself up the rest of the way. "Everyone else, get up. Don't worry, Ogre won't bite." He met the Aggron's eye, giving it a meaningful look. "Right, Ogre?"

Supernovae "Who are you and what organization could possibly want me, the Right Hand of God, the man who assassinated a senator on national television? Unless your organization seeks for the freedom of the Awakened, God's chosen people, then don't even bother explaining who you are and leave." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There was a brief silence before the man chuckled. He spoke in the same commanding voice, the voice of a man who is in charge and knows it. "The freedom of the Awakened is exactly what we're after." As Jude's eyes adjusted, he could see the man more clearly. He was tall and fit, with dark brown hair that reached almost to his shoulders. It was parted to the sides in front and hung down over the sides of his face. He had a regal, clean-shaven face, seemingly chiseled to perfection, like that of a king in a fairy tale. The man appeared to be in his twenties. He wore a form-fitting dark blue trench coat, embroidered with golden designs. It was open, revealing a fancy white shirt and black pants and boots. Jude could also make out a second person waiting behind the man. It was a yougn girl. She looked to be about eight years old. She had long black hair tied back in a ponytail, and her face bore ablank expression. The most noticeable thing was her eyes. They were a bright violet color, matching the purple dress she wore. The man began to speak again. "I am the leader of a group called Utopia, whose goal is to purge this world of all but those gifted with power, such as ourselves. We are the elite race, destined for greatness. All others merely hold us back. I'm sure you can understand the truth in this." The man paused, entering the realm of his thoughts.
