[OOC/Sign-ups] Surge Story
Flux replied to Sutoratosu's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Alright you lost me here. I thought the two males had the IV combo you needed for the female. If so, then you could breed with Ditto, get a female with those Ivs, then breed with a male that had the missing Ivs to get a 5 IV Deino. But I must've got something mixed up here... ._.- 1189 replies

In hindsight, I'm not sure if I should have voted, considering I made one of the topics in question, but...whatever. Too late now. Anyway, I voted silver Kabuto/ps because I prefer it as I said originally. Also, I voted yes to alternate shinies because I think it will add some differentiation from other games, and if they are made to the standards of Machamp/Machop, I would be happy with them. Also, there weren't too many drastic changes on Ame's list of shinies. (At least for Gen 1)

Gillem nodded solemnly. He was interested in learning more about the customs of the elf, as well as learning more about Wind Knights. "I would be honored to hear its story," he responded, adjusting himself so he could listen. He wasn't sure if Olrien wanted Koz to hear this as well, but decided not to bring it up. If Olrien wanted Koz to hear, he would say so. Otherwise, it was probably a more personal story that he only wanted Gillem to hear right now. -
Lars struggled unsuccessfully to keep the broad grin off his face when Dr. Ray showed the pictures. He was suddenly glad he had decided to sign up for this. "How have I never seen these before?!" he bursted excitedly. "I mean sure, I did live in the middle of a forest away from people, but still! You'd think they'd have populated the area by now. I spent a lot of time in those woods..." He turned to Dr. Ray, the grin still on his face. "So these are real? You're not lying, right? And we get to train them?!" He stopped and stared at the screen for a while, taking in the different creatures they were showing. "So... which one do I get?" he asked, nearly shaking with anticipation. Realizing where he was, he straightened before adding, "Um... sir."

Ditto breed 'em. I don't mean that whole meaningless "you need a Ditto safari to breed IVs" thing that some people think. Just a plain Ditto. Give the Ditto the Destiny Knot, the Deino(s) the Everstone and breed until you get a female that has the IVs passed. Also, if you do decide to allow us to switch, is it still no Gen 6? (Dibs on Noibat if it's allowed... >.>) Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with my current Pokes. I would take Aggron, but I already have one in Aftermath.- 1189 replies

So I've determined that according to "The Dark Knight Rises", Batman is Bane's grandpa. Bane says "But you merely adopted the dark; I was born in it, molded by it." If Batman adopted the dark, he is its adoptive father. If Bane was born in the dark, he is its son. That means Batman is Bane's adoptive grandpa...

I didn't really know what to do with the eyes. >.< Here are some other ones to take a look at. I personally like this blue for the white/grey version. Another version, using the same shades of grey as on the legs. I thought this looked pretty good, too. I tried darkening the default colors here. I don't think it looks terrible, but... meh. Here it is using the same shades of red, like you suggested. And here it is with the grey colors from the grey/white version, but I don't think it turned out too well. I'll try any other ideas you might have if none of these will work. Are the mecha versions of Nidoking/Nidoqueen just supposed to be recolors too, then? Or are they different? I personally wouldn't mind using things like these as shinies, but I do love my blue Nidoking...

Um... no... You gain the ability to teleport, but you can only control where you go every other time you use it and it takes a day to recharge.

"Gillem, I have been meaning to ask you something. Why is it that you fight?" Olrien paused for a second. "Why do you take the burden of all of this unto yourself?" -------------------------------------------------------- Gillem paused, thinking of how to best answer the question. "Well..." he began, "Right now, I fight so that we may continue our journey and discover what is causing the world to die. I fight to protect my comrades -- all of you, as it is my duty as a warrior, but also as a friend." He smiled. "I'm glad that you all decided to travel with me, even on such short notice. I'm glad to have a chance to get to know all of you. It means a lot to me." He paused, thinking of Olrien's uneasiness at his earlier compliment. "I'm not sure of the elves' opinion on such things, but I do believe there is a form of beauty in the art of swordplay. When you go past the violence and death that can be caused by it, there is a sort of grace in the movements." He looked back at the tent. "I find it especially noticeable in Kho's style. He moves with grace, transforming the movements into almost a dance. While I in no way enjoy killing, I would not consider my blade the enemy. More likely, it is the evil in the hearts of man." He looked down at his blade, hoping what he had said made some sort of sense. -
Lars stared at Dr. Ray, a rare expression taking hold over his face. It was seriousness. He had to admit, he was more than a little surprised by the technology they had developed and their methods of demonstrating it, but there were important questions he wanted answered, and this was his chance to ask them. "Why are we here?" he asked. "What are 'the elite soldiers of tomorrow?'" Then all at once, his seriousness vanished as his stomache growled. "And why did we have to skip dinner?"

Well, Ogre could probably knock a door down, but again, I think a metal Aggron smashing a door might be a bit loud. Unless he tries to just rip it off...

I know the feels... I'm making up Aervana too... Oh wait, don't tell anyone that. I do have random points of the story planned out, but the in-between stuff is being made up on the fly, so bear with me if it gets difficult.

Personally, I don't see why you couldn't just post again... That way we don't need to go back and check your old posts each time... EDIT: Didn't know that was a double post, nvm. Anyway, I took a shot (or two) at Kabuto and Kabutops. If they're okay'd, then I'll go ahead and make the back sprites. Not sure which is better, though I think I prefer the black/white one.

Lars turned back to his sketchpad and began to draw the vast forest they had flown over. He wanted to capture the vibrant trees and the contrast caused by the mountains. As the pen moved across the paper, his mind drifted to thoughts of what this group might be doing here. The fliers had said that they would become "the elite soldiers of tomorrow". While it sounded interesting, he realized that he may have gotten in over his head. While it did take him away from his previously boring life, he also realized that he could lose his life here. This was the military. It could easily become kill-or-be-killed, depending on what they were assigned to do. He didn't really want to kill anyone. Maybe he had gone through the motions too quickly, without thinking of the consequences they could have on him. He didn't even know what he'd signed up for. This whole thing was just a big mystery. Still... Something about this whole thing intrigued him. He would at least find out what this was all about before making any decisions.

Erm... I don't think so... I have longer hair than most guys at my school, but not abnormal amounts. The next person has experienced the joy of Monster Hunter.

Char. Name: Lars Kaiser Char. Age: 18 Starting partners: Nidoran M (Pin), Abra M (Sleepy) Personality: Consistently bored, Lars spends a lot of time outside in nature. He constantly jokes around, never taking anything too seriously. While carefree and laidback, he can be quite stubborn about seemingly meaningless things. He has a dislike for authority, considering himself a free spirit. Upon hearing of military experiments, his curiosity is peaked and he decides to see what it's all about. Appearance: Mid-length bright white hair, fair-skinned, stands about 5' 10", wears a long black coat with neon blue trim. His dull gray eyes reflect his constant boredom, and he carries around a necklace with a crack in the center of its gem. Home state/town: WI Pic: Other/ additional details: To be determined... RP Universe: The Poke-War, Surge Story (The Great Genetic War) Decided that I should probably post this here.

Lars took the pen, giving the guy, Keaton he said, a bright smile. "Thanks! I only need it until I can get something else. It should work fine, I'll just be careful not to mess up. I can do basic outlines for now." He set the pen by his sketchpad before leaning back over the bunk. "So, we're bunkmates, huh?" He grinned, brushing his white bangs away from his eyes. "What brings you to the military? I'm not terribly fond of them myself, but their flyers seemed to promise some fun. I figure it'll be a nice change of pace."

So, how are we going to connect to it? With a computer or mainframe, we could fairly realistically connect with a USB or something, but unless the cameras receive a wireless signal, there doesn't seem to be much we could do.

[OOC/Signup] As Gods Sleep. . .
Flux replied to Chevaleresse's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
I'm not a great artist, I just kind of casually draw. (I suck at shading, but still wish I had a tablet) Yours look really good though. I particularly like the second one in your character description. (The color one with the side view.) I've never been able to draw side view well, or really any view other than front. :/ Anyway, nice work.- 603 replies

"Feel free, if that's what you wish," Gillem said to the elf. "However, it sounds like Koz wants us to take watch together, which is no problem for me, if you don't mind the company." He smiled. "Between the three of us, I doubt much could get past." OOC: -
Lars squinted at the red-haired man, a blank look on his face. "Why bother trying to sleep for half an hour..." he mumbled, turning back to his bag. He removed his sketchpad, deciding to pass some time drawing the landscape, when he realized that he'd forgotten to bring his pencils. He looked around for a while, wondering whether or not to risk angering anyone again, before deciding that overcoming his boredom was worth it. Still, he chose to use a considerable quieter voice. He looked over the edge of his bunk. "Does anybody have any...pencils? Or know if there are any in here? I've gotta do something to pass the rest of the time..."
-
Lars could hear pieces of other conversations as he looked through his bag, making sure everything was there. Everything seemed to be intact. "...the doors of any Army Barrack constructed after the outbreak has a system that allows a C.O. to lock in his soldiers for the night. Works by the handle reading their fingerprints. It can also detect when someone meant to be kept in the barrack tries to open the door while the systems activated. Buddy, you turn that handle, and You'll be sitting in an interrogation room somewhere, being asked a lot questions that you probably wouldn't want to answer." "Well, that kills that idea," Lars thought. He'd planned on going at to that awesome forest and having a look around. "I should've known these miltary guys would be no fun... He climbed to the top level of an empty bunk, leaving his bag and black coat on the bed. He sat around for a while, without much else to do. As the time passed, he became more and more frustrated, until eventually he couldn't contain himself. "Gaah! I'm so bored!" he bursted. "What do they expect us to do here?!"

"Are we going to have enough water to make it through the desert before we reach there?" Alleria asked. Before Nash could answer, he heard Crag speak up. "Master Nash would it not be a bit more practical to see if we could find a group to trade for mounts with? At least for the desert anyway, it would save us some time. Also it would not be wise to travel through the desert in the heat of the day. Its best traveled in early morning and the evening. Oh and one more thing the aromas may be good and the food is delicious in those five star restaurants but unfortunately the amount of food you get for the price is very not profitable." "What do you mean by not profitable?" Alleria asked. "Do you mean they overcharge?" There was a pause. "And what kind of mounts are you thinking of?" Nash decided to address each point one at a time. "We'll be stocking up on extra water in Saarid, a small town near the edge of the desert." I'll also be asking around to make sure Gillem was there, as planned... Nash thought. "As for mounts, we unfortunately will be without any until we reach Sakiiri, for sure. We'll see what we can do when we get there." Gillem was holding the most of the group's funding for now, as he was to be renting rooms and making other arrangements for them in Sakiiri. He gave a snort. "Also, I wouldn't recommend traveling this desert by night. Nighttime's when the real predators come out in the land of the Shantii." They walked for a while, before Rhea turned to Nash. "I'm a little worried about Roland and Megaira." she whispered. "They haven't reported back yet..." Nash nodded and whispered back: "There isn't a whole lot we can do, though. They're pretty far ahead of us. Besides, if something hapenned, I'm sure we'll see some signs of it on the trail." Just as he finished the sentence, he stumbled and nearly fell. "Agh!" he cried as his foot fell through the ground. He pulled it out, testing the ankle. Luckily, it seemed to be fine. He examined the hole, looking for the source of his mishap, and noticed for the first time the narrow strip of soil moving up the trail. What is this...? he thought, running his fingers over the trail. ------------------------------------------------------------ Rhea gave Nash a worried look. "Are you alright?" she asked. There was no way the others could have missed Nash's fall either. "I'm fine, but.." he grunted, running his hand over the path. "What are you doing?" she asked him. "The soil here is disturbed..." he said, focused on the path. "I wouldn't have even noticed this if I hadn't stumbled." he waved the others over. "Do either of you two know what this is?" -
Blaze raised a small arm further up the riverbank. "The mountain was downstream, last I saw," he said meekly. "It's a little farther inland, so you probably won't be able to see its peak for a little while more." He pointed at a large rock far up the riverside, a small beach reaching out to the water beside it. "If we get to there, it would be a close point to the mountain, and a good point to start travelling by land." He paused, looking at Nivia's flippers. "Well... if you don't mind... It's probably the closest you'll get by water."
