  1. Does this mean we're using my Magmortar from the old thread? Dis one:
  2. Lars nearly shouted in joy when he heard that he could finally let his partners out. He was eager to see what sort of creatures they had decided to give him. "Alright..." he began, "Let's start with Nidoran!" He pushed the button on the sphere, anxious to see what it was. A pinkish, rabbit-like creature emerged from the ball. Its smooth fur was offset by the sharp spikes poking through. It had a particularly large spike on its head. Lars crouched next to it to get a better look. "Well..." he started, a little at a loss for words. "You aren't exactly the biggest, scariest thing out there..." His face switched to a small smile. "But I bet those spikes can cause some pain!" The creature's ears twitched as Lars spoke. "Well, what can I name you...?" he paused, putting on a thoughtful face. After a short time, an idea came to him. "I know! How about 'Pin'! You know, 'cuz of your spikes and all." The Nidoran immediately turned its back on him and gave a snort. Lars frowned. "What, you don't like it? Hmm... I'll just have to think about it some more..." The creature didn't even look at him. "Aw, come on, don't be that way..." he pleaded. When it didn't react he sighed. "Well so far, no good," he said, pushing the button and returning the creature to the sphere. "Time for the next one," Lars said, with less enthusiasm after the first failure. "Abra..." he murmered. "What is it, a magician?" As the white light spread out, he saw another small shape come starting to take form. "Well, there goes any hopes for a big powerful one..." he muttered. This creature appeared to be a mix between a mouse-fox and an alien. "You know, it kind of looks similar to the fake Oak's creature..." he thought. The coloring was similar and it had the same body armor. "What do I call you?" he said, leaning down to get a closer look. The creature showed no reaction. Lars waved a hand passed it. "Hello?" He paused, his face taking on a disappointed expression. "Are you sleeping...?" When there was still no reaction, he picked it up and cradled it in one arm, with no response or movement from the Abra. "Well I guess I'll call you 'Sleepy'," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "It's only fitting." Lars sighed. Not only were both of his creatures small and fairly weak looking, but one of them already disliked him after the naming incident, and the other only wanted to sleep. "Looks like I'm off to a good start..."
  3. Nero crossed his arms, looking out past the collar of his long black coat as he leaned against the wall. He wrinkled his nose. The air smelled of fish and sweat. "Disgusting," he thought. He hadn't taken a seat, preferring to watch from the corner walls for the person he was looking for. He'd been here an hour, but there was still no sign of them. "Another trip wasted," he mused, pushing himself off of the wall. He was just about to leave when a dwarf walked in. The first thing Nero noticed about him was his armor. This was no fisherman. The bartender rushed over and embraced the newcomer in a firm hug, lifting him off the ground. "Must be his father..." Nero muttered, leaning back against the wall in the corner and crossing his arms once more. He decided to watch a while more and see what this was about. He brushed his silver hair to the sides as he observed the event.
  4. Are we RPing the dwarf in our posts too? Otherwise, I can't really think of how to say anything longer than a sentence or two...
  5. Forgot this one. Make a (legit) Regular League Trainer Card - 5 In my sig.
  6. "Sir, after the conflict, we all looked at the capsules. Someone...Someone let loose their creature in the middle of Mr. Oak's lecture. He fought someone else's with his own. From there, it just evolved as more and more were sent out. Eventually, the scientist, Mr. Oak, threw some of the creatures to the side. After that, I'm unsure... sir." -------------------------------------------- Lars spoke up. "Not everyone got to take a look at their creatures -- I still don't even know what mine are. Everything happened so fast..." He pushed back his hair, taking steady breaths, still in shock from what had just transpired. "So that wasn't Oak? And those... GAOs -- The owl and fox-man -- Are they dead? Did they belong to the imposter? Everyhting went dark, and I'm really lost..." He paused, looking at the floor. "Sorry, but I don't think I can tell you anything you haven't already heard..."
  7. I'd say either the black-eyed or blue would be best.
  8. So I made the changes you suggested to Nidoking here: And here's the result: I personally don't think this turned out well. My personal thoughts are that that keeping the whites of the eyes kind of take away from the mecha look. I couldn't find a good color for the mouth either... Here's the first one I made with some of your changes applied. I removed the blue, lightened the area on the top of the head, and darkened the mouth color. And here's the original for comparison: If none of these are good, I don't know if there's much more I can do... I'll probably leave it for someone else. :/
  9. Lars' mouth was gaping. "I-It used... telekinesis!" He paused for a moment, still focused on the now-empty battlefield. "Wow!" He looked down at the two sphere's in his hand. "Nidoran...Male?" he said, puzzled. "What's the difference?" He looked at his other one. "Abra... How come this one doesn't have a gender listed...?" He looked at Oak, a puzzled expression on his face.
  10. The sanity thing's a joke?!
  11. Rhea rushed over to Megaira, placing a hand on her forehead. "She's fine, just exhausted. They must've been even farther ahead than we thought." Her face toook on a worried expression. "It sounded like Roland's in trouble. You all go ahead and help him, and I'll stay here with Megaira until she wakes up. Hopefully I can do something to speed up that process so we can join you." ---------------------------------------- Nash nodded. "Let's go! Roland will need all the help he can get!" He took off running forward. "If he's far enough ahead that Megaira would collapse from exhaustion, we'll need to hurry. Still... I don't want to arrive exhausted, or I'll be of no help." He slowed his pace slightly, but not so much that he wasn't still rushing. He looked back to make sure the others were following. OOC:
  12. Updated my profile with a picture for Nero. Here it is in a spoiler if you don't want to head back to my post.
  13. Alright. I edited out the Necromnomicon part, replacing it with a simple text on Necromancy. I realize that it's not forbidden, but I would still assume that certain people may look down upon Necromancers, correct? Well, while technically a sorcerer, I was hoping to have Nero mainly fight with his sword, using minor illusion spells to aid in combat. (Allowing him to more easily sneak up on enemies or fool them in the heat of battle.) Although being a sorcerer, I was hoping he would still be able to use some more powerful magic, but probably not while he is in a fast-paced battle with his blade. Hopefully this isn't too dual-classy. It's pretty much what I described before and that got the O.K. (Except for the Necronomicon part, but I fixed that...)
  14. Nope. This is perfectly fine. It's kind of what I hoped people would do when scouting or standing watch. I mean, like I've said before, it won't happen every time we go anywhere, but Group 2 hasn't had a major conflict yet, so this is great.
  15. Reborn League is hard... (a.k.a. I suck at Pokemon)

  16. Character Name: Nero Darkwinter Ra ce: Human Class: Sorcerer Way of Casting Spells: Traditional (Does this mean they can use somatic or verbally? If I have to pick one, then Somatic) Appearance and Age: Mid length silver/white hair, with long bangs parted at the sides, showing his forehead in between. Fair skinned and handsome. Nero wears a long black coat with red trim, black and red being his house's colors. He is in his late 20s, and he has noticeable lines under his eyes, possibly effects of the stressful life he has lived. Picture: Personality Overview: Serious and unforgiving, Nero is very pessimistic, a reflection of the world he lives in. He sees the dark side to everything, and gave up hoping that the world could get better back in his childhood. He finds comfort in darkness and the power of his magic, though he prefers the beauty of the sword. He is very logical, not putting much time or faith in the gods, believing them to have forsaken the world long ago. Backstory: Nero is the sole surviving member of the House of Darkwinter. He was raised in their manor, a rather large castle. He was largely ignored by his father as a child, who saw him as more of a hassle than anything else. His mother was sick for much of her life, but was always loving to Nero. He spent most of his childhood attending lessons, learning proper mannerisms, swordplay, battle tactics, and eventually learning how to act as lord of the estate. Eventually, he discovered his magical ability, a throwback to one of his ancestors, as neither of his parents had the gift. A sorcerer who called himself Scuro was ushered in, to teach Nero how to use his magic. Nero was an avid student, eager to learn with a quick wit. Over time, Scuro became a father figure to Nero, caring for him when his parents would not. Nero would spend hours each day in the sorcerer's library learning about magic in his own time, and he found that he had a particular gift for Illusion magic. He spent many years like this, attending his lessons and visiting Scuro when he could. When Nero was in his mid-teens, the Darkwinter estate was targeted during a raid from the Northern Isles. Nero managed to escape to Scuro's old home, a small cabin deep in the surrounding woods. The rest of his family was not so lucky. His teenage years were spent living with Scuro, learning the intricacies of a sorcerer's innate abilities and practicing swordplay in his free time. You could say he found a sort of happiness in this routine regimine. However, he was doomed to lose the dear friend he had found in the sorcerer as well. After a lesson with Scuro, Nero returned to Scuro's quarters to retrieve a book he was supposed to study. The sorcerer was out, and a certain object caught Nero's eye. It was the corner of a book, the cover sealed with a lock. It was a book on necromancy. Intrigued by the book, Nero kept it, working at the lock with magic to no avail. Eventually, he managed to break the seal. Upon learning of necromancy and its ability to revive the dead, Nero poured the contents of the tome, hoping to revive his dear mother. After two years, he decided to attempt to revive her. He went to the ruins of his estate, and performed the ritual necessary. As fragments of magic gathered, piecing together his mother's body, he thought he had found success. However, the result was an abomination. He killed the mindless creature and returned to Scuro's cabin in disgust, considering necromancy a waste of his time. He was greeted by a furious teacher, having followed Nero and seeing his works. After explaining in his rage that "necromancy was a distasteful art" and "one he did not want any student of his to take part in," Scuro banished Nero from his house, leaving him to survive on his own. He moved into the ruins of his estate, repairing what he could for the next few years, until it was restored to a mere part of its former grandeur. He lived there until he was 28, mulling over the death of his family and betrayal of his mentor. Nero was hardened during this time, developing the mindset that everything he loved would be taken from him eventually. A broken soul, he has nothing left to lose. -------------------------------------------- Sorry for the length... Too sue-ish?
  17. I think I'll stick with the two I have. (Nidoran M and Abra M if you forgot.)
  18. Speaking of that... I made a sprite similar to this idea for a game I had planned to make but didn't have the motivation to follow through with. Basically, Pokemon were being experimented on by a certain professor and gaining a second (or third) type. I did get around to Tauros, and here was the result. I guess people don't like this sort of thing, though. (Good thing I didn't follow through... >.>) I also made an icy beedrill and a few others. I know it's off-topic, but I guess I just found it interesting that you brought something up that was quite similar to something I'd already made. (There's some sprite-proof ShinxLuver...)

  20. Welp, I'm going to wait for Ame's thoughts before I try anything else on it...
  21. Hmmm. Would it be possible to play a strange mix of Sorcerer and Templar? (Perhaps born with magic, like a sorcerer, but trained in swordplay?) If possible, I'd like the character to mainly battle with a longsword, supporting it with Illusion magic. He'd wear normal clothes (A cloak a long coat most likely) to maintain speed and not interfere with magic. Just let me know. If I can, Hurray! I will almost definitely join. If not, just say so, and I'll give things another look through.
  22. Really? I honestly can't think of anything that would look better than blue to me... I was kind of going for that Tron look I guess. Looking back, it's not as bad as it seemed when I first finished it. Also, I don't know if you actually intended it for in-game use or not, but I'm pretty sure Amethyst has said that auras can cause problems and not to use them. (Unfortunately... I actually prefer that version, so I hope it can work.)
  23. WE'RE LOSING TRACK OF EVERYTHING!!! Ok, but on topic, I personally would not mind if Nathan had encountered Zapdos. However, I can see why some people might. But srsly, Ash saw Ho-oh in episode 1...
