  1. Guts or Hustle Raticate is what I'd recommend. Sucker Punch will hurt considering you'll outspeed and it has pretty good special defense at this point in time...maybe run two as Hyper Fang also puts a huge dent in her as well. There is no shame in pulling a cain type deal here with a non mono like Swalot/Trubbish as I can't even mono this mod (tbh, it wasn't designed for it).
  2. \o/ I get recognition! This is more or less a better Dragon mono which is shown can be done...but this would be leagues easier than that. If you want to play hardcore, just go to my run for the link or the official fan-game post. As for rules, this is how to make a game a challenge: 1. No items other than Super Potions and Ultra Potions bought from Poke Marts 2. Limit of 3 times to heal your Pokemon 3. Battles must be switched to set 4. No resetting when catching an event Pokemon (a one and done rule) 5. No common candies allowed
  3. (glares) I wasn't going to do them as I'd kind of would like to see them in full action before making a suggestion, but...I suppose I can do something: Adrienn: Wallpaper: I'd kind of like just a screencap of Adrienn ordering Florinia and Julia around to kind of show what we missed (or maybe something mystical and pink looking) Theme: This is a hard one. I'd have to associate cleaned up or purified reborn with Xem, but I can't figure anything to associate with it. All I have is time...which wouldn't work too well with Adrienn Hardy: Wallpaper: Truthfully, I could see a simple Solrock and Lunatone combo here and that'd really be it. Theme: I'd kind of like seeing some type of guitar design given his love of rock maybe guitar strings on the borders Amaria: Wallpaper: Hmm...I suppose a water type theme would be best here Theme: This is hard as simple water wouldn't do her character justice. My idea is for one side of the water to be crystal blue while moving to the right it starts to turn gray. This is a better way to portray what has happened to Amaria over the game and pre-starting the journey and how her life really did turn grey. Titania: Wallpaper: Warning! Minor Spoiler: Theme: Other than the above, all I can think of is an Aegislash sword with blood on it...which would be hard to make. Titania is more of a gladiator type character so giving her an armor type frame or an Aegislash would probably work best. Saphira: Wallpaper: I'd kind of like to see a Wallpaper that represents all three of the Belrose family instead of something just for Saphira. Theme: The bubbles. Hmm...I'd just do a split color scheme here of light purple and dark purple to represent her colored hair. Maybe make the frame look a little beat up to show some of Saphira's rage. Edit: I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ARCLIGHT! Arclight: Wallpaper: I'd give him the nightclub given it's his type of club Theme: I'd either try to make some headphone styled text box or some DJ Scratchboard or just a simple Vinyl Record...just something with music please.
  4. Now onto the leaders. Everybody has a favorite leader so I kind of would like to see something for every leader (Samson is still growing on me). For the text screens/frames I don't know if it is possible but it'd be cool if you could replace the down arrow thing with a symbol for that leader. For example for the Radomus frame, if he had his mad hatter hat there, (I'd freaking love you forever) it'd be seen when there's more text left in a string of dialogue. I don't know if it's possible, but if it's too hard don't worry about it. This is the arrow I'm talking about to get a better idea: I'll start with the Episodic Leaders then to the Rivals then to the Meteors/other characters for ideas: Reborn Leaders: Rivals and Allies Fern: Wallpaper: I suppose a Roserade would pretty much be best here...not the best with these at all Frame: Thorns and Roses. Thorns at the very least as it suits him and how he always manages to be a thorn in your side. Victoria: Wallpaper: N/A She doesn't deserve one (but Kiki does) Frame: Ying-Yang type of deal given her clothing. Cain: uhh...the only frame idea that comes to mind is music notes. I know Cain's awesome, but I don't know how to show it (maybe his clothes design for a frame instead?) Cal: Wallpaper: Obvioiusly a Volcano or the Volcano he stands on Frame: I'd try and make it a Volcano type deal with lava on the top and rocks on the bottom. (Or I'd make one half of the frame fire and the other Ice to represent the brothers) Laura: Wallpaper: I'd go with a flower type deal here Frame: This frame should have a field of grass with flowers, but there should be 4 on the top row and 4 on the bottom row. That's the best thing I can think of to symbolize Laura Anna: Wallpaper: (See Noel) Frame: I'd say a Jirachi type fram would work best for her Enemies/Team Meteor I'd love to see wallpaper for each of the admins or at least Solaris, but I'll skip wallpapers here and mostly focus on Frame ideas ZEL - The best I could see is for a Black, Blue, and Pink border to show the three's different aces and steel at the top to represent Magneton or Sludge for the Pulse Muk. Taka - The best I can think of is Scarves with Music Notes or something along that. A chatot scheme would be the next best thing, but there's not too much other than Chatot to distinguish him by. Sirius- Another hard one really, but I'd rather see a Chandelure/Seviper wallpaper than a frame for him. If I had to give him one, I'd try to make it half blue flame, half fanged snake to show his deadly sides. Solaris- I can't really say, but a wallpaper with his Garchomp would definitely be the best to describe him Just a note: since the meteors are all fictional, it's kind of hard to find something to tie with them so it might be okay to skip them. Now onto easier ones: Sigmund- Wallpaper: I'd give him a shocking or plasma type design due to his work and his battle strategies. Frame: I'd honestly say a simple pole with electricity surrounding it or an electivire cable design would suit him best. El- Wallpaper: I'd pretty much say give his wallpaper to the lord and savior as that's what he'd probably do Frame: I'd go with some bright looking design similar to the holy field effect. Blake- Wallpaper: I'd honestly go for a fire vs ice type of deal there given the Winston family history Frame: (See Cal) or just a frozen frame...NO NOT THE MOVIE! basically a big ice chunk around the text Bennett- Frame: I'd give him a Volcarona styled frame as he kind of looks like a Volcarona and his ace is...a Volcarona. I'm not really expecting any or all of my ideas to be accepted, but it's a way to get the ball rolling. I also spoilered the leaders because this post is super long already. Edit: I almost forgot. It might be a cool idea to turn wallpapers for the PC into field effect styled background so that there is one field to kind of represent each type (or close) which would be a fun little addition to organizing Pokemon.

\o/ Exlink, you underestimate the power of the Garbodor (he almost swept me).

  6. Generalguy...this is going to be a long one. I'm just going to start off by saying...you'll be in for hell in a doubles or triple battle: First off, that Solarbeam combo isn't bad, but considering Steel, Flying, "Ghost", Normal, Fire, Grass, Poison, and Fairy types you'd be wasting an item there. Water can also take a Solar beam so it's only be really good for Rock and Ground type, the latter in which can counter. I'd go for a Mental Herb Overheat before trying a play like that so at least you have an almost surefire powerful attack. The rest isn't bad, but it has nothing to counter the infamous sucker punch which will kill it. (Will-O-Wisp and Screens can work). Ferrothorn is quite good for switch ins, but it's a risky mon as it can screw you over in doubles and triples. You also have a better stealth rock user in your team so it might be better to drop it for a different tank/bulky mon who could help you out more. Machamp/Conkeldurr are two options that come into my mind, but kind of figure it out on your own. For Gyarados, Waterfall is better than Aqua tail as a move that does not need luck is always better. Only time you should ever use a low acc move is like Blizzard for Doubles and Triples as long as you don't need to rely on it to hit for victory. Bounce is another option which can help out (I've seen it and it works) even adding a para chance. For Umbreon...uhh...where in the heck would you ever need Baton Pass. Ghost? If it's ghost, you're probably staying in. There's no need for that move unless you run Curse or Calm Mind for some reason. Uh...anything could work here better than Batton. Aerodactyl makes for a great lead as very few Pokemon can outspeed it. Taunt is probably going to be your lifesaver for this team as it can break a couple of your opponents strategies. I personally ran stone edge on my Trick Room team, but I'd consider Brave Bird or something other than Defog. Your team isn't too afraid of hazards though Stealth Rock might seem a little scary. This would also be your stealth rock user as it can set up and possibly unleash a hard attack before dying (it is quite frail so using Wide Guard is risky for this one).
  7. It really depends on the teams whether stealth rock is good or not. Double you won't switch out so much unless a pokemon is vital later on. There's hardly a point as a Pokemon switched in is likely to die anyways or come close. Triples...it can be seen, but you'll be lucky if the match lasts more than 8 turns. Not a lot of time to win. If you have a lot of tank mons who will force switching, stealth rock is to your advantage, but don't rely on it...because Magic Bounce. Hazard sweeping moves like Rapid Spin might not be as useful as Defog. Defog Lowers the opponents Evasion which is useful for those low accuracy moves like Hurricane. It really just grinds down to leader preference as any or all leaders could use them. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mar_Mar, not a bad team, but Dark types will give you trouble. I'd also recommend running heal bell on Florges just in case Metagross gets burned, but it's not needed.
  8. It's official, I'm awesome. Even as a Lanturn I kick butt. And don't remind me of that demon Cradily. Yeah, you've got levels on Taka and Zel, but they have more Pokemon than you. I tested Klefki and it doesn't seem too much of a problem (Boomburst was a problem...but not by much). In the 6 vs 9 fight, Chatot used Nasty Plot and I was like "oh thank god!" It's kind of like an inverse Sirius situation which is kind of cool and unique to hardcore (never again will you face something like this).
  9. The only two things I remember happening from VII-X was Aya lost like two levels in her pokemon due to her difficulty and I think Florinia lost her Amoongus or somebody got replaced. That's pretty much the two big changes off the top of my head. 10.5 did a lot more changes like giving the early leaders Gen VI Pokemon like Julia's Helioptile and Shade's Gourgeist (I think Dusclops was axed in 10.5). I'd have to pull out my old computer and iirc, I think I deleted it when downloading XII on it. In the super early days, I heard Julia had a Volt Switch strategy, but everything more or less is included in X give or take one or two minor things like missing Pokemon or team changes.
  10. Well I've had a couple tricks I ran through with the Hardcore mod (the first Tangrowth is more or less like fighting two Tangrowth), the thing is bulky, but pretty much anything you have will outspeed it. Running status moves like Yawn or Nuzzle with help you get some more hits and even Confuse Ray will help add to your hit count. Flinching moves also help add up as Super-Effective moves won't really do too much to it, if anything, focus on your stab. The first trick I did was Simple Numel where Amnesia basically makes its defense 2.5X increase in just one turn. And Stockpile pretty much makes it bulky, but Acid Spray is a big danger to it. It should still manage to pull of quite a few Flame Burst putting it down to the red or yellow before dying though. The other is Spoink. Tangrowth has growth...and it is deadly on a certain field effect, but little Spoink can use a Psych Up and also become quite deadly. 3 shots will more or less KO Tangrowth or come really, really close.
  11. Hmm...another one is giving the mod a go. I'm not sure if this will change your mind, but I'm going to slowly update into a 2.0 version based on feedback. I might release the changes when I reach Shade, then Noel (he's getting a revamp), and finally Ciel. People have said a couple leaders were too easy so I'm going back to try and fix a couple changes to make the game nicer and more fun (aka a couple nerfs and buffs here and there). But if you do get into it right away, I do take feedback into consideration. I actually do surveys which do influence me in any changes I do (and it really helped in fixing Florinia...who makes me want to curl up into a ball some days). Don't be afraid to say anything.
  12. Shelly is one of those leaders that just needs AI fixes. Her team is really good, but the AI screws her over hard. I was able to get rid of some of these issues by removing Dazzling Gleam with Moonlight, but it's still a RNG roulette what she'll do sometimes. Once the field effect AI is intact, she'll be scary even on the burning field. It's a miracle that Masquerain didn't use scald on you (it usually does to me). And rivals are definitely nightmares even for normal teams. I had a team set up to take on Shelly, but Victoria destroyed me about 3 times because she has some good moves. Waterfall Poliwrath was what gave me such a hard time. That thing is brutal. Then again, Hardcore was designed to challenge those who think normal reborn is too easy or gripe about nerfs.
  13. Normal is a bit more versatile so you probably will like that one a bit better (I still think ya'll are crazy trying to do monotypes on this mod). Zigzagoon will be your lifesaver against Julia with Mud Sport, but Loudred is also useful with its Soundproof ability. Given you won't have any resistances, I'd try looking for some second stage Pokemon like Raticate or Watchog in order to make up for the lack of versatility. Florinia is a bit easier as Fearow is an option. I figured out a way to counter this glaring problem when 2.0 comes out, but it'll more or less make short work of half of Florinia's team easily. More or less you'll have a pretty solid team for her then and shouldn't have to make too many changes until Shade.
  14. Not to mention it'd take forever to level all the Pokemon up. I feel this would be more of a grind fest than an actual fun challenge. It'd just be a Dragon Rage spam up to Kiki and then maybe a bit of struggle with Serra, but by that point your Pokemon should all be close to fully evolved except Hydreigon so Serra might be a pushover then.
  15. ...I have a chunk cotton candy, a creepy bird, a poisonous stomach, and a gecko with crappy attacks. I wouldn't call that a serious battle at all. Now back to adventure: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Episode 3-1: The path splits We got a couple fresh new members on the team after a little grinding session (Beedrills are such good things to grind on). Sparkplug the Manectric, Scotty the Herdier/Stoutland, Moonshine the Ursarang, and Jack the Spoink. Shaggy and Mickey decide it's all good in the hood and continue to stay in Alice's party. Shaggy will get box for Corey because he's kind of useless there with only Body Slam to work with. Now to face Taka: Vs Taka: This battle is really hard, like really, really hard. I started out with Shaggy who poisoned that annoying Lileep. He decided to keep hitting himself being confused (which is bad as I didn't have any healing items). He then switched to Klefki so I sent out Mickey. The rain gave me such a huge advantage as Mickey could heal off the Foul Play as well as dish off a ton with Water Pulse/Brine. That Klefki managed to put up a Reflect before going down (which is bad considering...Tangrowth is a tanklord). Tangrowth came out next so I sent Jack out to confuse it. It decided to go with Growth then Giga Drain, but Jack survived and used a Psych up. It managed to get two hits in which really, really hurt that Tangrowth like 2/3rds its HP hurt. Next, I decided to put Kawaii bear in and he survived a crit hit Sludge Bomb to KO that pulse with two Slashes. Next came out Chatot who Shaggy barely managed to survive a Boomburst from to poison it with a Toxic. Manectric came out an nailed it with a thunder fang, but the poison caused Chatot to faint after Oneshotting Sparkplug with Boomburst. Kawaii bear is so awesome...I just wish it wasn't so slow. Anyways, Taka and Zel are up next and the fight...wasn't as hard (I also had Stoutland this go around): Vs Taka and Zel: So I decided to lead with Shaggy and Manectric this time. Glaceon's Icy Wind hits so hard (again, regretting not being able to buy Super Potions) but Manectric hits back with Thunder Fang to paralyze it. Shaggy poisons the Lileep with Toxic and that thing is so annoying. The next turn Manectric and Shaggy finish Glaceon off with T-Fang and Sludge, but Manectric falls victim to a Mega Drain. I decided to bring Stoutland in and switch Shaggy for Ursurang. That Espeon almost manages to go down with a Crunch, but manages to land a Psybeam on Ursurang. The next turn it dies to Crunch, and Ursurang nails Lileep hard with a Feint Attack. Next came out Jolteon, but he wasn't going to last after being nailed by Slash and Take Down, but it did almost KO Stoutland with a Charge Beam before dying. The only problem now was that both my Pokemon were confused by Confuse Ray. Next, Umbreon came out, but both my Pokemon pulled through and nearly killed it. Lileep was then healed up. The next turn that Umbreon died (though I can't remember what happened exactly). Next game out Pulse Growth, but the duo just nailed on that thing so hard with Crunch in Slash it was down in almost an instant. Gligar was next so I sent Pelipper back out. Again, don't remember what happened (I think it used Harden), but it didn't last long. Finally, Taka's Ace decided to come back out. Boomburst hurt like heck, but both my Pokemon survived letting me defeat that demon parrot once and for all. *** So you'll be happy/sad to know I find Boomburst a little bit too strong so instead he's getting hyper voice (90 BP is not something to scoff at though). I'm still wondering why I ok'd that originally, but no matter. I'm also going to have to face Taka and Zel again for a second time, but this time Taka might have 5 or 4 Pokemon depending on the poll. That also means 2 times the Corey in the house. The Team so far:
  16. A picture is worth a thousand words: And by the way, I put a new survey up for the Corey episode and I really do take all that feedback into consideration. Taka got a little nerf losing Boomburst for Hyper Voice, but STAB still makes it hurt...just not for insane damage.
  17. Since the Florinia one was quite helpful, I decided to make a questionaire for Hardcore Corey(s) as well in the run here: http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17984&mode=show&page=

  18. Yeah, there might be one person who possibly has episodes from before that point...so I wouldn't even try going that far back. I probably have Episode VII lying around somewhere, but I might've also deleted it. Episode 10 fixed a lot of frustrating problems and it's about as close to the old Reborn as you can get. 10.5 gave a lot of leaders team changes and nerfs including the really "easy" Serra fight. But here's the list of Episodes you probably can find: Episode X: Many of the annoying bugs such as partners only having one Pokemon was fixed, but teams remained relatively the same. Field Effects were non existent which is why some people could argue leaders are tougher here. This is more or less the old Reborn refined at it's best. You might miss a couple things, but not that much honestly. Episode 10.5-XI: With the inclusion of Gen VI, there were some really drastic changes to the team layout here as some leaders got nerfs and Radomus got his Trick Room team back. Field effects were also starting to get implemented, but teams were more or less field effect less. Episode XII-XIII: In this section, the level cap was a bit higher along with the infamous Charlotte fight before her nerfs. While I still disagree with it, a lot of people say Charlotte is the toughest leader (imo Serra deserves that medal). Leaders also slowly got field effects to match their fellow leaders. Episode XV: Honestly, there is a ton different in this episode as a lot of leaders got "nerfed" as people say. The biggest change other than field effects has to be Egg moves on event Pokemon. This is a huge promotion to use Pokemon that normally would not be used. There's a lot of mixed reactions to the level cap change from Radomus to Luna (literally Radomus is about the same level as Noel...which I don't understand). But it's kind of hard picking how to play the game, but if you really want to do an episodic run, I'd do 10 (or the episodes before Radomus and Serra were changed), 14, then 15, but you'll miss a ton of amazing changes the game has done. If you wanted to get the true full experience, you'd have to play reborn completely over for each episode. Yeah, there are a lot of changes done in the game.
  19. I'm not really sure when Mega will be as a lot of people suspected them in the post game. This is another one of those topics that's been beaten to death for the past 4 or 5 episodes (or whenever the pulses occurred). If there is going to be a Mega Ring earlier, it's to give some unloved Pokemon such as Banette viability in the late game as they'd normally be scrapped otherwise. You're not going to get any strong Pokemon like Charizard or Venusaur until post game so don't get your hopes up. But yeah, don't really expect anything out of Megas. I'm not even sure what fights will even contain Megas. Even Solaris is in question from that perspective. Leaders? It's possible only one or two others have a Mega.
  20. It's not the developer...and I don't know what's up with that one since I can't test it (I don't have the coding for it). It's a different fight in the Glitch City. I have tested it on my version and it worked...so it should work on the official (don't know which one you're playing). Also,
  21. Whoever made this sprite, I love you. http://prntscr.com/8tfuuh

  22. Aster and Eclipse kept the same teams, but I added Slurpuff for Aster and Mismagius for Eclipse and they really do a good job taking advantage of the field. Again, I'm impressed you beat Charlotte in two tries as it took me 8 I believe. She's a little bit stronger than her Pre-nerf form, but if that Houndoom is up when Ninetales is out. You're more or less screwed. Houdoom is evil. Doing it at those levels is also quite impressive (75 is still the cap but episode XIV is about 72). Terra and Ciel are kind of weaker than what you've face, but Terra can still be a challenge. There is one little bonus fight in the next episode right before Terra if you want to fight him. If Jamak didn't put it in, I'm going to strangle him (I know I put it in for my version though).
  23. Well I suppose this is true especially later down the line where he really is all talk and no walk (easiest fight in E15 imo both in and out of Hardcore...and arguebly the easiest fight as well). Eh, I would've given him Bulldoze if anything, but I think Taka is good as he is. I know I removed one of his 5 Pokemon from the second fight because 6 v 9 really isn't that fair. 4 for each is a bit more fair imo considering you knock out one and it's a 2 on 1. That's a first seeing Taka knocked out before ZEL though.
  24. Female Dorms "Uhh...yeah...he kind of sticks out in the crowd." Citrine wasn't really sure how to respond to that. Putting nice and Henry in the same sentence was pretty much impossible. "It's those glasses and your super serious nature that reminded me of him. He's a gifted double battler so I figured someone like him would be into battling to, which I was right." Citrine wanted to shift the focus off of Henry. "So, uh, have you ever been in a Pokemon battle? Truthfully, I haven't, but I've seen quite a few. Apparently it's a lot of pressure or so I hear."
  25. Basically, I gave a totodile level five so it's a get what you get and don't throw a fit. If you want a better one, you'll have to breed for it. And no way hose to DD
