Looking around at the sounds of battle nearby, Dulcie spots an opportunity to attack the nearby axeman.

 

”Ah! Here’s an opening!”

 

She dashes over (with a wave and a “Hello again!” to Ceridwen on the way), and prepares to fire an arrow at her target, smiling apologetically.

 

”This might hurt! I am very sorry if it does.”

"Hmmmmmm......" Argos couldn't help but feel like he knew that dark mage from somewhere, like he's seen him some time before. What was his name? Did he say it? If he did he must have missed it during all that commotion with Kris before. Oh well, at least he looks super cool with that eye patch.  "I wonder if I would look cool with in an eye patch." Is what went through the Lad's mind as he headed up to help defend the north side.

As soon as their weapons clashed, Kerr was drawn back into the rush of battle. No matter how fake it was, he was fighting for glory. To prove himself. Jabbing out with his spear, a silver light shone at the tip and then streamed back towards the middle of the shaft, forming a brilliant halo around it.

 

"Haahh!"

 

The halo solidified into a shield of magic that deflected the blade the mercenary was holding, knocking it back into his shoulder as Kerr's lance dove in right behind it.

 

Tch. Wasn't supposed to be quite that flashy. Also not supposed to be using that, but can't just discard all my tools. Hopefully not too many people noticed.

After the fighter fell, Fallon heard the low rumble from Idriss.  I know, old friend. But now isn't the time. he thought as he moved to take out the archer that had hurt him and his rider.

Verden smiles a little, watching everyone else around him do their respective work and silently appreciating their efforts, then he turns his gaze to check individually on each person in turn. Kerr, Ceri, Rhian, Johanna... They're all injured. But only one of them is the most injured, and once he's certain which needs attention first, he... would move, if it weren't for the fact that he can't really stand close enough to get that healing out as needed. There's a definite limit to how far he can move, and he just can't move far enough to get to where he'd need to be. Guess that interferes with his first idea.

 

"Hm..."

 

He holds fast where he is. Since he can't move to get a particularly useful heal out yet, he decides to pass the time with a bit of silent prayer. Something about him standing there gives off a faint aura of safety... Nothing particularly powerful, but it's better than having nothing.

She wonders what he feels. Does he even remember? Does he even care? Idriss lifts into the air alights on a nearby hill, and she wonders... is he proud?

Rather than pursue the other horsemen herself, she wishes to see what the rest of the Guard are capable of. "Calissian horsemen to the south! Are any of you able to help?"

Verden's usual serene nature breaks for the first time so far as he sees Ceridwen fall. He seems primarily alarmed, secondarily concerned. Although he is still someone who can heal people, so at least he can actually do something instead of stand around panicking. That, and since this is a practice battle, he doesn't have quite as much to worry about as he would if the situation were more... real, for lack of a better term.

 

"No, no... You're not going down yet. Not while I'm here."

 

Remaining where he is for now, he concentrates in silence for a brief second or two, then casts a heal onto Ceridwen in the hope that whatever he can muster will help her back up. Having already had someone been taken down this early on, and knowing that there are still others with mounting injuries, he seems to be gazing around at the other combatants more frequently... Then, his gaze flicks onto Rhian, and there's a brief look of confusion, then concern.

 

"Wait... I cannot recall ever seeing you having been hit by anyone. Where are your injuries coming from...?"

Seymore pivots southwest to M9, glancing over at Rihan. He overhears something from Verdan-she hasn't been hit? With all the armor he could not hope to tell if it was not on the face, but maybe Seymore could make out the telltale signs of pain in her stance, if he actually was paying attention to that and not to the incoming cavalier charge. He lines up an Axe and hopes to finish off Cavalier 3.

He catches Fallon and Johanna giving each other some very unusual glances, and Seymore again fails to catch the meaning of it all, though here his curiosity triumphed over his politeness. "Uhh, is it just me or do you two know each other from before now? Them's some interestin' glances no matter how you dice it."

"Coming!" Kris said towards Johanna as she dashed down south to lend assistance. She looks around quickly to find the weakest of the bunch and then moves to engage them. 

 

After Fallon moves Kris moves to L10 and attempts to bop Cab one Off there horse.

Fallon staggered for a second when he was hit by the lance, but quickly recovered.

 "Are you all right?" he heard from his right. 

"Fine..."  he said. But he couldn't help but notice the shakiness of her voice when she asked it, so he turned to give what he hoped was the reassuring smile he had used to. He hadn't done that in a long time.  She still cares...I wonder how much her father told her. Did he tell the truth? Was I dead as far as she knew? An enemy?  he thought in a whirlwind of emotions.  I can't let this distract me...

 

After taking a moment to calm down, he moved and decided to deal with one of the last enemies in front of him...but of course, there was another one.

"Uhh, is it just me or do you two know each other from before now? Them's some interestin' glances no matter how you dice it."

"Best to not stick your nose where it doesn't belong, boy."  he said coldly. He felt a little bad about it since Seymore was nice enough to him before, but explaining this to an outsider was the last thing he wanted to deal with right then. Keeping in that state of mind, he let loose another blast of energy at the cavalier in front of him.

Embarrassingly enough, the two arrows that the archer had launched had, blunted or no, specialized armor or no, been more than enough to unseat Ceridwen from Yn Ddiddorol and send her crashing noisily to the ground.

"Oof...!"

It was a reminder, perhaps, that she was getting too overconfident in the armor that wasn't even her own work but Gareth's, and that she wasn't paying attention like she should be. Perhaps she'd been taking this lightly... that was a mistake.

 

Thankfully, Verden came to pick her up, and Ceridwen smiled apologetically as she remounted her dragon, staring at the "enemy" archer even as she spoke to Verden.

"Thank you very much for your help! I'll have to be more focused from here on out..."

Dulcie takes a moment to act, susprised at how she had stunned the fighter by shooting his axe out of his hand (and a little pained by her opponent’s attack) but now turning her attention to her injured ally.
