Lenore groans as she just looks over at Baldur with resigned irritation. "Save the lecture for later, Orchid. Focus more on knifing them than yelling at us, will you?" She shoots Mim a grateful nod and gets moving. M24

"Yeah, the only thing she's paying for is your hospital bill when we're finished putting you in traction!" Gabriel briefly pondered if it was a good idea to piss off their enemy like that. Or if that threat even sounded cool. Man, Perlita must be cringing hearing that. Freila on CFW Magic....again, re-inflicting Sun Arcana and applying extra damage from Beat of My Blood. Freila: Utilising Oppenheimer, Gabriel blasts an opponent with the power of nuclear radiation, unleashing a miniature nuclear blast onto them. Gabriel does 6d6+SYN (14) damage to a single target.

For Diligence's part, she was....unfamiliar with war and battle. This was....definitely not something she was expecting. But ready for it, she would have to be. After all, it couldn't be that different from fending off bandits while she was trying to make her way up to her father's old haunts, right? "Here goes!" D10, attack Corporal Dart

Lenore sighs at Kane. "You know, I'll be real with you, boss. Someimtes, you just gotta let things play out. You got a good head on your shoulders, but sometimes, feels like you're not using it right when it comes to leading."

"Ever hardworking, I see. Take a load off here, Phoenix. You've earned it. We all have."

Lenore, for her part, has set up on a towel under a parasol near Kane's elected spot. She wasn't much for the water, but a well-deserved break was welcome. "Aren't you going in, Phoenix?"

".....eh?" This was new. Elder Coins or whatever were definitely not a thing he'd ever had to deal with back home. Fighting weird things with abnormally long tongues, yes. Fighting what apparently seemed like the manifestation of capitalism, not so much. "....you guys wanna check that out? I, uh....don't have anything to pick them up with." A pair of hatchets and the manifestation of Gabriel's psyche that apparently identified itself with the father of the nuclear bomb were, all told, not the best mining tools. He goes back to doing what he's best at. Freila on Deity of Greed re-inf

"Finally, a well-deserved break." Lenore makes her entrance, stretching her arms and walking in. Her choice of swimsuit was a one-piece suit, a straw hat to protect her from the sun, with a flower-patterened drape wrapped around her waist to cover her legs save for a small slit. A small, simple golden bangle sits around her neck, a prize from one of Lenore's more fondly-remembered heists. She struts across the room towards Kane. "Haven't had the occasion to wear this since I went after the Duke of Perrin. An interesting man with his own special set of hot springs he liked to show off. H

"Enough!" Lenore actually raises her voice, visibly irritated. She'd had it about to here with these shenanigans. "Orchid, Marvel's got a point. It was risky, yes, but we have to take risks in this. We're not going to get any further by waiting and waiting for the right opportunity. We had to make an opportunity or miss one. And if we didn't trust you, Phoenix or the others to have our backs, we would've turned tail and run the moment they showed up. Marvel, don't. We're not lone wolves anymore. You have to work with the tools you're given. The same as the rest of us. If neither of you ca

Empi stretches her arms out casually, groaning. She needed a nice massage. If you could even get one anywhere in the multiverse; it wasn't as if masseurs left business cards that told you what universes they live in or gave discounts on you depending on what day of the solar cycle it happened to be. "Same here, Isobel. There anywhere a girl can get something to drink? A girl needs the hard stuff."

"Got it.....Mira, right?" Gabriel, for his part, was still a little confused about what was going on. This world, these people....made very little sense to him. What did make sense, however, was that Perlita (and probably everyone else) needed him to do his best, and that, he could almost certainly do, here or at home. Freila on Deity of Greed inflicting Sun Arcana. Freila: Utilising Oppenheimer, Gabriel blasts an opponent with the power of nuclear radiation, unleashing a miniature nuclear blast onto them. Lenore simply, calmly, pulls out her Silencer and begins filing her nails with it, while giving Ethaniel a look, as if she's eyeing how Silencer would look, slashed across his throat, and as if doing so would be an act as easy as breathing. "Disrespect myself or my boss like that again, and we won't need the poison." Lenore simply waits for him to unlock the boxes, her position clear. After all, the bodyguard of a man like Herman, as far as she'd picked up his character, wouldn't let an insult like that go unavenged. Especially a female one.

Lenore, for her part, keeps ignoring Famine. Her patience was tried, but this was her territory, and for all Lenore was a terrible fighter, she had nerves of steel when it came to a situation like this. And, of course, she was hoping Kane knew what the hell he was doing. Granted, she'd been having increasingly less faith in him to do so as of late, but she was hoping he wouldn't let her down this time. "Open one of the boxes and show us. Feel free to stand over there and do that if you want, but Herman and I wanna see what we're paying for. The last morons who tried to swindle

"Yeah, hang on a minute. You still haven't shown us the goods. How do I know you're not selling me and Herman here some crushed insect legs? Payment upon delivery."

Lenore remains calm, despite wanting to do something, anything to lash out at this monster; he made a mockery of her art, he hurt those who didn't deserve to be hurt. Logically, the operation was blown already. Famine wasn't someone Lenore had a real lock on and she knew it. Ethaniel was like her usual marks; dumb, easily fooled, uninformed, but Famine could throw a wrench into those plans right away. She wanted to run, to call the whole thing off before someone got hurt, and take that toxin in the chaos so nobody could get hurt. But no, they were in too deep. She didn't car

"Human magic?" Diligence starts babbling to herself under her breath, looking around. The words 'revolutionary', 'pictograms' and 'tree growth' can be heard faintly under her breath. "T-this is such a big thing to drop on us....w-what is this 'writing' like? D-does it look like our symbols? How do you know human magic works that way?"

Lenore raises a finger. "Hang on a minute, buddy. We almost got made for this, and we're not about to risk our asses for nothing. Show us what we're here for. As a show of good faith."

This was something Lenore intended to field. Finally, something she was halfway competent at, as opposed to having to stab people. "Yeah, the rendezvous spot was spotted out by some kids. Damn near gave us a heart attack. They don't know we're meeting up here. What took you so long?"
